George Forman grill

Are George Forman grills or similar grills allowed in McMahon dorms? I found a paper that said they are at blazer but it looks kinda old so idk if they are still allowed.

Biostatistics 611

Has anyone taken biostatistics 611? If so, how is it? I'm currently a humanities grad student but want to push myself to gain better understanding of stats. Wondering if this will be too hard.

Graduate Classes - Recs

I am a graduate student and only need 6 more elective credit hours to graduate. A friend of mine said she took a class titled GRD 730 which was about LinkedIn. That one isn't being offered but there are several courses listed under this GRD department. Does anyone have any experience with these? What is the difficulty level?

If you know of any easy graduate courses, also drop those below!

What are some good clubs and orgs that could help me break in socially?

I’m finally finishing my degree. I went to Alabama before. They had a club called mallet. It was very active socially and they even threw parties with like 10 to 20 people. I was in a political club where after each meeting we’d go out to a bar. So I guess I’m looking for something that has not only the official business of the club, but also the opportunity to hang out and socialize outside of that. Is there anything like that here?

I’m not really interested in Greek life. I’d rather join something that’s based around a specific interest so I know we’ll have things in common.

Housing Accommodations Near the Campus

Hey folks, just wanted to ask if anyone knows any good housing accommodations near the campus which are safe. As seen on this sub, alight is not the one where one should be living. What about ion? All the other recommendations would be appreciated. I need some help finding the right ones and what better way to ask fellow students right?

professors/classes to avoid for spring 25?

rmp doesnt have alot of info and i need a reasoning course and a communicating in the modern world course to take in the spring semester. so far ive picked out by170 (biology of sex) with nicole riddle or phl116 (bioethics) with brynn welch.

then for the communicating class ive picked out ws 100 (intro to women/gender studies) which i can either take with maigen sullivan or jessica smith.

any insights on who to avoid or which classes would be better?

Job outlook with MBA? How’s the MBA program?

Possibly starting my MBA at UAB in January, but I might choose Auburn instead. Is there anyone in the MBA program that can tell me how it’s going for you? Is there anyone who has graduated that has had good luck finding a job after?

What is the Genetics Degree like?

I am on community college right now, and I have recently changed to biomedical associates degree. I really enjoy biology and genetics, and I was interested in UAB's genetics program. I was wondering if anyone in the Genetics and Genomics Science degree could tell me what the program is like at UAB, do you get career experience or research opportunities, and what are you planning to do with your degree?

Organic chemistry tutoring

www.organicchemistrytutoring.ca

Overwhelmed by organic chemistry? Assignments and tests creeping up on you and feeling like you’re in hot water? Or maybe you’re doing well and need that 95%? Whatever your struggle with organic chemistry may be, I’m here to make sure you succeed.

Why work with me?

  • Every tutor knows the subject, but not every tutor knows how to transfer that knowledge to a student. I do.
  • I tutor organic chemistry full time, it’s not a hobby or side-gig. When you book with me, you’ll be working only with me, not random people at an agency.
  • You’ll be learning problem solving through organic chemistry, which you can apply to many other subjects.
  • Your learning will be customized to your specific needs

Before booking a lesson, let’s chat about your needs, my teaching style, and what you can expect, to see if we’d be a good fit together.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to working with you!

Mike

I am a sophomore and just got an email suggesting I apply for the psychology honors program but am a bit intimidated by it. As of now, I'm not sure what areas of psychology I want to focus on and research. I'm worried that because of this I wont be a good fit. If anyone has any information please let me know!

UABTeach Program for Pre Med

I am a freshman majoring in neuroscience on the pre med track. I’ve received an email about the UABTeach Program that supposedly is really good for pre med students. I’m new to this so I had a few questions regarding this program: Does anyone here have any info on how it works, will it be a lot of work on top of neuroscience, does it even benefit in the long run, will it increase my chances of getting into med school, etc?

Please let me know if any of you have any tips/info on this program! Thank you in advance.

Craziest place you’ve had sex on campus?

Trying to find out the most wild places people have had sex on campus.

For me, it’s the 3rd floor of the library.

Lost and Found??

Hey, I lost my Apple Watch while on campus today and was wondering if anyone knew where a lost and found might be? I lost it either in heritage hall or Campbell, and I’ve already talked to the student services desk in the hill center. I would really REALLY appreciate any help, or if anyone happened to find it please let me know!!

Application Update

I know UAB has a long hiring process but is there someone I can email to get an update on when I might hear if I was selected for an interview or not? It's been about a month, the application is still open and my application is under review.
