Anyone is welcome, whether you’re a first timer or a longtime player!
We’re meeting at the same venue from last week - Malcolm Yards is about two blocks away from Surly and has parking. There’s a variety of food options and self-serve drinks (if you partake) with a large venue space inside.
I will bring a few boards + card decks. If you’ve never played before and are curious, you’re especially invited! The rules are simple and easy to pick up on.
This is by no means a formal event- show up and leave when you’d like; I’m planning to be around from 2-5.
See you all there!
Hey all -- I write a weekly newsletter that gives a recap of all the events happening in the Twin Cities for the upcoming weekend. If you want it delivered directly to your email inbox, you can subscribe for free here.
TWIN CITIES WEEKEND PREVIEW — KEEPING YOU BUSY ✔
Minnesota lawmakers found common ground to create Minnesota Beer Day. Sponsored by a Republican in the State Senate, a Democrat in the House, and signed by Governor Walz, this celebration on November 1st honors the history, tradition, and community of Minnesota beer. For the inaugural celebration, craft breweries and brewpubs statewide are offering special events, deals, commemorative pints, and more this Friday.
Participating breweries and their Beer Day deals:
- Forgotten Star Brewing Co. | Glass for $7 or glass + first fill for $10; $1 off refills all day.
- 56 Brewing | Pint glass + fill for $10; $1 off refills with the MN Beer Day pint glass (even if purchased at another brewery).
- Broken Clock Brewing Cooperative | Pint glass + fill for $10.
- Utepils Brewing | Pint glass + pour for $10 or glass alone for $6; live music from Tony Sammis (6-8 pm).
- Arbeiter Brewing | $10 for pint glass + pour; $1 off subsequent pours with MN Beer Day glass.
- Burning Brothers Brewing | Beer Day glass + fill for $10; $2 off pours with Beer Day glass; growler fill + 2 pint glasses for $30 (to-go only).
- Wabasha Brewing Company | Pint glass + fill for $12; $1 off all pint pours in the Beer Day glass.
- Saint Paul Brewing | Limited-edition pint glass + $4 fill of Minnesota Proclamation Ale.
- Luce Line Brewing | Pint glass + fill for $10, with $1 going to the Luce Line Foundation for local parks and trails.

Have a great weekend!
Im a transplant from the east coast. I moved to Minnesota a couple of years ago but have had difficulty trying to socialize or get acquainted with anyone. I live in the Plymouth area, so I am wondering if there is any good spots/events for young adults in their 20's to socialize or meet new people? does NOT have to be a bar. Just want to get involved and put myself out there.
:3
Hey everyone. I graduated from college this spring and am looking for some friends in the cities. While I do like the occasional night out and enjoy some brewery trivia, I’ve never been much for going out. I run and do triathlons competitively so I’d love to train together, but also love crafts, cooking, and just hanging out!
Hey, everyone! I’m looking to meet new people and hang out. I moved here 3 years ago for work (I’m a software engineer). My interests and hobbies include: playing music (guitar, bass, drums, singing), tennis, anime, movies, video games, and running (recently got into it). I’m a bit introverted, but trying to get out of my comfort zone. So I’m down for pretty much anything. Shoot me a message if you’d be interested in getting to know each other!
The Twin Cities comedy scene is a haunting and fun time! While Acme and House of Comedy often get the spotlight, there are plenty of smaller venues that deserve your attention too. This week, in addition to nightly open mics, you can catch amazing shows featuring both local and out-of-town headliners. I've rounded them all up for you below.
Without further ado, here are this week’s comedy shows:
Monday, October 28th
Tuesday, October 29th
Wednesday, October 30th
Thursday, October 31st
Friday, November 1st
Saturday, November 2nd
Sunday, November 3rd
TBA
Shows Outside the Twin Cities
Friday, November 1st

I've got an open spot in a DnD 3rd edition game that I'm running in person at a local game store in the cities. There are a few people in the group that are new to DnD/new to 3rd edition so newcomers are welcome. We are all in our late 20s/ early 30s and are looking for people of a similar age range.
I have been playing for almost 20 years. I've been DMing for about 5 years, and have experience DMing a variety of systems, and teaching new players.
If you are interested or have any questions, feel free to comment or shoot me a message.
This is an open invite to join me at Dreamers Vault in Roseville Friday, November 1st to play boardgames. I will arrive around 6pm and play 15-30 minute games with whoever is there. At 7pm we'll decide what longer games to play. You'll know me by my bald head, bushy beard, and Costco/Ikea bag of games. I usually get a table at the back on the left side of the gaming area.
I've seen a lot of "looking for friends" posts on this subreddit and that is what this is about. I make a point to bring both simpler "welcoming" games for people new to non-mass market games as well as more complex games for the veterans. The regular attendees tend to bring their own games as well so we always have a lot of choices (maybe too many sometimes).
If you've attended before and you'd like me to bring a specific game, let me know here and I'll make sure to put it in the bag.
I played girls varsity in high school but haven't played for over 2 years now. I'm probably extremely rusty. I'm looking for someone, any age or gender, any skill level, who wants to play on a regular basis -- maybe twice a month? Saturday mornings maybe? As long as you can tolerate me, I'm happy playing you. I prefer just rallying and having fun rather than competition. Ramsey County but willing to travel ~20 min.
As much as I hate to admit it I’m not cut out for self-teaching. Anyone know any good people or places to hit up in near the Burnsville area?
Thanks everyone that went, it was an absolute blast!
UPDATE I yoinked a high table inside by the back patio entrance next to the self-serve taps. I have some boards placed out at the end of the table and am wearing a green sweatshirt and beanie!
Seeing that there's not really any existing cribbage group on here and the recent post full of people that want to play, I'd like to organize an ideally weekly cribbage meetup!
I'm planning to bring several boards with cards, but of course anyone is welcome to bring their own. If you've never played before, it's a fairly quick game to pick up on and I'll be more than happy to teach you - it's an absolute staple of the midwest!
Malcolm Yards Market is over in NE Minneapolis right by Surly Brewing - it's a fairly middle location between the cities, has a large venue, and plenty of food and drinks.
I'll update this post with more details the day before, but please comment if you're interested in coming as well as if you're bringing a board so I can plan accordingly! See you all then!
I'm a bit new in Minnesota, and I’m going to a rave concert for the first time this Saturday. It will be at The Armory, and I’m going on Saturday. I don’t want to be awkward, as I don’t know much about the culture here. Do you think I should wear a costume, or is this not going to be a Halloween-themed rave party?
I’m (29F) looking to make friends here in the twin cities. I moved here about a year ago. I recently finished my master’s in mental health. Now that I’m done with it, I would really like to start going out with friends. I really enjoy breweries. I’ll only have 1 or 2 beers & may bring my dog along. Saturday & Sunday afternoons/evenings work best for me. My hobbies are pretty independent, so I’m just looking for people to talk to & hang out with. I enjoy talking about controversial things and philosophy. Bonus points if you have a good sense of humor. DM me if you’re interested in meeting up :)
Moved here almost exactly a year ago, and I don't really hangout with anyone. I'm 31, I like to eat good food, I'm a nerd, so D&D is a huge thing. I game on the PC and participate in enjoying the devils lettuce. I'm pretty easy going and generally down for whatever. DM me if you're interested in getting together sometime.
Yo yo this is my first Reddit post and to be fair I don’t know how this things works.
I’m a 22 year old livin with the parents in Minneapolis. I’m in sales with a stable company, was in a fraternity, like to hunt/fish, play golf (1 Hcp on ghin) and just started to get into lifting a little more.
Here’s the deal. I am not the best at pushing myself sometimes and the support that I had is long gone.
I am in need of making some new friends in the hopes of having a tight circle to make some gains, improve my life situation and play a lot of golf. I just need some bros. Some homies. Some dogs.
Again I’m sorry if this post is in the wrong place so any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you
This is an open invite to join me at Dreamers Vault in St Louis Park Friday, October 25th to play boardgames. I will arrive around 6pm and play 15-30 minute games with whoever is there. At 7pm we'll decide what longer games to play. You'll know me by my bald head, bushy beard, and Costco/Ikea bag of games. I will be at a table in the front room with the windows facing the street.
I've seen a lot of "looking for friends" posts on this subreddit and that is what this is about. I make a point to bring both simpler "welcoming" games for people new to non-mass market games as well as more complex games for the veterans. If you've attended before and you'd like me to bring a specific game, let me know here and I'll make sure to put it in the bag.
I’m looking to do anything having to do with anime, comics, D&D, cosplay, sci-fi, fantasy, video games, lego, seriously anything nerdy. I’m almost 40, male. I don’t have a social circle anymore, and I’m looking to make friends, go to events, and start having fun with my interests.
Let me know if you know of anything going on that I could attend! (Bonus if I can attend with my 6yo daughter)

Hello, I'm organizing a meetup at the Minnesota Arboretum in Chanhassen on October 27th at 2 pm. This would be a good opportunity to meet new people especially if you are new in town. Message me or create a message down below if you like to join! The age range would be 20’s and 30’s. The Arboretum closes at 6 pm and the entry fee is $20.
Hey! My name is Jackson, I'm 28 - Bought my Con ticket yesterday for saturday nov 9th along with photo ops with Alex Brightman and Erika Henningsen (Nervous af but excited as Beetlejuice is my dream broadway role and i wanna talk to Alex about it)
Anyway, I dont have anyone to go with and was wondering if anyone would be interested in chatting, seeing how we vibe and potentially meeting up and doing stuff together? I'm open to one on one or a group of 3 at most
I am currently DMing a 5e campaign at Summit Brewing on Wednesdays(6-9pm). I am looking for 2 new players for an tolerant and inclusive table. Currently just ending Forge Of Fury at 5th level. We will be starting a new module before the end of October. Ideally these would be players comfortable with 5e, not necessarily expert. Please message me if you are interested. Please make sure your privacy settings are correct so I can message you back.
Hello! My name is Will, I am 19. I moved into Minneapolis this October and I would like to meet up with people in order to expand the inner circle. Maybe even befriend since I tend to really easily bond with others. I'd love to see new people and spend some time together.
As for a place: for now I'm looking at Minnehaha waterfalls area for a simple walk however if you have ideas I am open for any propositions. Thanks!
Hi. I know people trying to find D&D games is fairly common around here so I wanted to share. This is an opportunity to meet other people with like minded interests (and help sick kids) and play d&d 5e.
So why is the donation required? Because it's a part of Extra-Life. The money raised will stay local and go to Gillette Children's Hospital.
I have two games available to play at 9:30am and 1:30pm with room for 4/6 players. Games will run about 3.5 hours. Spots at the table are $40. Why $40, because I am a professional game master and I'm doing this is tandem with one of the companies I work for and I was encouraged to not devalue our product.
If you are unable to afford this fee, I do have 2 sponsored spots at each table. Contact me to get on the list and we just hope that some kind soul who loves helping kids and people will sponsor said spot.
The games will be played at The Nerdery in Edina. There are other events going on during the 24 hours of Game Day. I will edit this post once I have the details on them.
My personal fund-raising page is here, the Nerdery team page is here
If you have any questions, or would like a spot at the table let me know.
Thank you for your time and consideration
Come join a fun and welcoming group of people! Everyone is welcome - even if you aren't vegan but are just curious to try some plant-based food (everything ordered needs to be vegan though). These dine outs fill up fast, so please use this meetup link to reserve your spot if you are interested: https://www.meetup.com/vegan-415/events/304009544/...
This place opened up recently in Minnetonka and can make almost everything on the menu vegan (except for the cream cheese wontons, egg sandwich, and milk teas). They have a lot of great options!
Check out their menu! https://thanhluongchay.com//menu.php
Hopefully, you caught some incredible acts during the 10k Laughs festival this weekend! But now it's time to return to our regularly scheduled programming.

Hi! I’m looking to make some close, consistent friendships as my only real friends are my girlfriend and my family.
I’m 23m in my first year of grad school at the U. I love the outdoors. I like to hike, kayak, stargaze, and garden in the warmer months and ice skate and ski in the winter. I also really enjoy pickleball and badminton although I’m not great. If anyone wants to do any of those together or anything else lmk! I am getting back into reading and I play some video games like Overwatch, Fortnite, and Stardew Valley. I enjoy trying new things too so I’d still love to be friends even if we have different interests :)
I’d also love to have a friend or friends to be able to go to a library or coffee shop and study / work together.
I’d definitely prefer to talk to people who are also looking for meaningful, long-term friendships. Message me if this is you!
34 y/o woman here near Uptown, desperate for weekend cribbage challengers. I just moved back to town and could use some community!
Hey all,
I'm looking to see if there are any cool upcoming events, or groups that I can join for fun stuff around the cities or north metro. I'm from right around the Blaine area, and don't necessarily driving a little bit.
I love all kinds of social events, metal, art (creating/enjoying), tattoos, and breweries!
Edit: I'm a 29 year old guy.
