Here's an example of the type of spambots that make this rule necessary.
Be warned, it's a mix of SFW and NSFW posts, but at least the most recent ones at the moment are SFW u/No-Camel-7840.
That bot, and hundreds of others, take posts from a sub, add a small border, and repost on the same sub. New such bots are made ever few hours as the old ones are banned, hence the need for the rule.
Disclaimer, its been years since i saw the movie but remember the actual story by Homer.
In the story there was a competition between Hera, Athena and Aphrodite. The one who was most beautiful would get an apple ( the prestory is too long to explain). As no God was foolish enough to make this choise, Hermes was instructed to find a Human to be the fool. He first went to all the Kings and princes. All of them politily declined as they knew that making a Godess angry would have negative effects on their kingdom.
After a long search Hermes found his fool : Paris. A young arrogant Shepherd boy who was the son of Priam but abandoned (long story) Paris saw the three Godesses and all three made him promisses if he would give them the apple. Hera promised power Athena glory Aphrodite lust. Paris thought with his penis and chose lust. Thus getting on the bad side of the two most powerful godesses of Olympus
