The purpose of this sub is, for a start, to have free-form discussions about how American or allied reddit users can more effectively combat RU and other hostile propaganda on reddit and elsewhere on the internet.
This sub will endorse a broad interpretation of American political and social interests which includes American traditions like - multiculturalism, freedom of religion, civic debate, and peaceful protest. These traditions will be chosen based on their opposition to hostile propaganda themes. This is not the place to debate right or left economic thought.
The purpose of this sub is not to brigade individual users or subs.
We are eager to hear your thoughts. Anyone is free to post anything they like on the main page related to the project - articles, ideas, questions, theories, proposals, etc. We'll develop guidelines together as things take shape.
Do not link to individual profiles or comments as examples of trollish behavior. Instead, excerpt short snippets and post quotes.

New report links Brazilian New Resistance Group to Russian disinformation
Important report from USA State Department on the "Syncretic Disinformation Network" which includes "Dugin inspired" groups New Resistance (Nova Resistência), Fort Russ News & Center for Syncretic Studies who all publish Russian propaganda. The report says Brazilian New Resistance group has pushed Propaganda on Ukraine from its Moscow registered website from leader Raphael Machado & members like Lucas Leiroz who writes for sites including GRU linked InfoBrics https://www.state.gov/gec-special-report-exporting-pro-kremlin-disinformation-the-case-of-nova-resistencia-in-brazil/

Can we discuss how to combat facebook trolls?
We probably all have family members or friends that are on facebook that fall for the propaganda. What are examples of how you educated them? What do you do for some nonsense meme post that only gets 3 likes and 2 comments that just have the 100 emoji?
I would love to hear success stories or ideas so we can all better ourselves in combating their lunacy.

Astroturfing on /r/sanfrancisco, mods complicit
I made a post there detailing an obvious astroturfer. They refused to approve the post.
I reposted it to my profile so it can be seen and shared. People need to know that this is happening all over reddit, especially small local subreddits.
