Ive been trying to get my beats distorted like this snippet linked above but my 808s dont sound how i want them to ive tried everything from working my melodies around my 808s to soft clippers and turning the velocity up 100%. Any tips?
Hello All,
The method I have been using has been via spotify since it does provide the songs BPM (through an external website using its API). Although it is always not accurate.
I was wondering if there was a more organized website that has a bunch of modern hiphop songs with its BPM + KEY listed.
Tunebat and the other sites are not as reliable unfortunately.
How can you make inspiring and moving music such as:

Usually when I make beats it’s a 8 bar loop (sometimes samples) with drums over top and arrangement. That reel showed a producer having mostly different elements coming in at different times arranged etc. Please share tips to help me improve my production game thanks.
I’m just wondering if anyone knows any decent starter apps to just use on your phone im just looking to see what creating beats is really like and would like to go the distance
Hi-hats start around 0:52 mark on the music video
Hey, So I have this bug with the purity VST (I use the sonic cat demo, yes I’m broke), so like after the pattern loops, sometimes, for about 1 second, it justs mutes itself, flstudios noise thing also stops, I’m pretty sure it’s not from my pc because other VSTs n stuff work no problem, it’s just purity, I’ve also tried reinstalling it just in case it was corrupted, didn’t work. I know the demo has white noise, maybe it’s from that?
I’m considering stopping treating music production as a job and starting to see it as a hobby I do occasionally. Next year, I’m going to be a father, and it seems increasingly unlikely that I’ll be able to make a living from this. I’ve been dedicating myself to this for about 7 years, perfecting my craft, and sometimes it goes well, but I can’t fully depend on the income from music.
Two years ago, I decided to take it more seriously and invested all my time and money into it. However, after these two years, I feel that if things don’t improve in the next year and I can’t fully sustain myself with music production, I’ll have to explore other options to provide for my family and avoid financial struggles. Maybe I should go back to treating it as the hobby it was when I started. Perhaps I’ll have better luck with business ventures in another field.
This is just a personal vent; I hope you understand and can share your thoughts. Best regards.
Collecting some great mixes right now for referencing during my mixes. Any recommendations?
So I recently uploaded my voice tag to BeatStars Studio, but now I need to redownload it and can’t seem to figure out how. I’ve checked my media library, but I don’t see any clear option to download.
Is there a way to get it back?
Still figuring my way out with producing . What plugins /effects if any do y’all use to add i guess movement to your melodies? First ten seconds of this song a good example . Lmk!
Im trying to make an agressive type track that I heard in my head. I want a synth bass in the track but the notes I heard in my head when i replay them they change the feeling of the song. I want the bass to have some rhytm and musicality to it but anything other than the root note changes the feel of the song. It went from aggressive to Inspirational. Is there any way to make stuff (specifically in this instanc ebass but would help with everything) aggressive and musical? if so how do you guys go about doing it?
I’m really torn between buying the two but leading more towards ableton. For this type of production do people find using Ableton good? I’ve tried both on free trials.
Hi, I am using splice at the moment. What u think anything better than that or keep using the same one? Please Advice. Thanks
does anybody have the rack kick everyone uses over spinz 808s? i've found a few off the internet but they are different. let me know if you have a good sample
Wassup everyone, Im a aspiring graphic designer (currently learning it), I know how to make cover art for drum kits, loop kits, thumbnails, song cover and etc. I can’t make nothing too crazy still, but I would be glad to work more with other people. Im offering a free design for whatever you want, building my portfolio right now so I need more work. I would like to receive a shout out on instagram and credits if you use it, but keep the money to yourself. Dm me through reddit to discuss or hit me up on insta: @hellstah_ I can send examples of my work

Both plugins are built to emulate those analog guitar pedal effects, works as a sampler and cost about $60, any thoughts?
trying to learn how to chop samples and i feel like all the youtube tutorials i find on ableton are not helpful cuz a lot of them are targeted for edm and dance and not hip hop or trap. what are some good tutorials yall have found
Even tho I listen to a lot of Atlanta trap like future, thug and etc I never knew what t’d up means

I'm basically looking to achieve something akin to Lil Ugly Mane's Mista Thug Isolation project where the bassline on most songs was prominent and fat for a lack of a better term. My typical process is I EQ my 808s so that everything under 50 hz is cut out and boost at the point where it cuts off, add either Fast Dist or Blood Overdrive to add some extra noise to the 808 and throw a Soft Clipper on there but it just makes it louder, not "fatter". How do I achieve a wider, more encompassing and strong 808? I'm working with FL Studio.
Thank you guys!

and what vsts presets have this sound????
I recently started making beats but I use Soundtrap, a online DAW. I would use FL but I'm on a school laptop and its blocked smh.
It sounds like this: https://streamable.com/syxxut
I want it to sound like this: https://youtu.be/Uaa5h4qJ0Dk?t=567
I use the built in sampler and whatever [free] oneshot samples i can find. If you recommend some new 808 or sum, i would appreciate if u provide a link or send me a file or things of that nature
I really love metro boomin's synth sounds (like the ones you can hear in the across the spider verse album) And I was wondering where could I get the most accurate emulation (one shots packs are also accepted)
