Hello, I have had this track for over two decades, and have always thought it was "Ghost in the Church" by Body Shock. Well, while re-organizing and tagging my library, I found that "Ghosts in the Church" by "Body-Shock" is a completely different track. That leaves me with no idea who the artist nor track name are. Shazam was not helpful here.
I uploaded the track to SoundCloud so anyone can take a gander at identifying it. I'd greatly appreciate it if someone can solve the mystery, as I really like the track and want to keep it with the correct information.
I love trance!
Recently two of my kids have been on a retro kick and started playing my old CDs on repeat including my old sets from back when I was DJing in the late 90s and early 2000s.
They've been asking questions about the history and origins of trance music. I can't give them a credible answer because there are a lot of tracks that at the time I felt were not trance but on a relisten I realize they were definitely trance adjacent.
I'm of the mind that music can't really be explained with words, it must be listened to if one wants to understand it at all.
Does anyone have a playlist or that shows the evolution of trance? For instance starting with the first tracks that you feel showed early elements of trance through to the first song that could really be called trance and then going through the subgenres?
Thanks!
Is there by any chance Trance Christmas songs? And if you don’t know/they don’t exist, any song recommendation that reminds you of Christmas?
Hi folks, Here's one of my latests productions, that was proudly made with LMMS. I've been a bedroom producer since 2020, still learning a lot, so... Any piece of advice and feedback is welcome ☺️ Still struggling with phase issues and stuff. I hope some of you will enjoy this old style track. Thanks for listening. More to come on my YouTube channel in 2025. Hard trance will never die.

"overall loads of classical/opera-infused trance tracks that will definitely sound familiar from horror/scary movies" - createdaneweruseraccount
junh1024 - "Gating is the name of the game here. With some classical/orchestral tunes that I vaguely recognize, but can't name."
"My biggest complaint was around the 31 minute mark, there was a heavy effect cutting the bass in and out that wasn't necessary and sounded off. But overall, well done!" - KevinMCombes

My lastest single dropped on Friday!
Hello everyone! Could you please tell me how is the sound/instrument from 2:07 to 2:45 called? It sounds like magic in my ears! Could you suggest me other tracks with this type of sound/instrument? Many thanks!

The first trance song I listened to was Johan Vilborg - Stellar, I initially discovered this song in a Cities Skylines series called Verville created by CityScapes, but it's not the song that introduced me to trance. The songs that introduced me to Trance are Paul van Dyk - For an Angel, Tiësto - Adagio for Strings and Armin van Buuren & Sharon den Adel - In and Out Of Love. It was around fall 2021.
But it was in 2024 with Rank 1 - Airwave and EDM Cow Cow videos that I listened to this genre more often.
Another absolutely stunning piece from the glory days
Luminosity just announced the full line up for their 2025 beach festival! Some great names again, so.... see you there! (And hopefully lots of new interviews for me hehe)
I've been trying to track down this trance song I used to love, likely from around 2010–2015. It features female vocals singing: "When the lights go down, when the lights go down, ohh ohh," followed by a melodic drop breakdown. It's not Ellie Goulding lights. I can't recall the artist or exact title, and it’s been driving me crazy! If anyone recognizes it, I’d be so grateful for your help. Thanks in advance!
SOLVED: Paul Van Dyk - Lights. Thank you everyone who tried to help!
