I'm looking to get the color Tradfri GU10 bulb (https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/tradfri-led-bulb-gu10-380-lumen-wireless-dimmable-color-and-white-spectrum-40547475/)
and looking to get the remote https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/styrbar-remote-control-smart-white-80488370/#content
But the bulb is colored and dont see the option to change color in remote. Am i missing something? How can i change the color?
Hi everyone,
I bought the ökensand lamp today. I succefully paired it with the app and managed to change the colour of the individual lamps.
now i am running into a small problem that i cannot seem to fix. i can only control the lamps when it is turned on with the button that is attached to it.
The lamp is in my bedroom. when i am downstairs and want to go to my room, i turn the lamp on through the app. i never bring my phone to my room, so when i go to sleep i turn the lamp off with the button that is attached to is. when i leave my room i do not turn it back on. when i want to turn it on through the app the next day it can't find the lamp.
i know you can't control the lamp if it does not of electricity, but i would think that using the button that came with it would not turn off the power.
does anyone know how i can fix this?
Thank you in advance!
Hello!
I bought an IKEA kitchen with all kinds of smart lights, and would now like to upgrade my home accordingly. I would like to have more options than just those IKEA offers and was therefore wondering if I should rather buy a different gateway than Dirigera? In particular, I am looking to integrate a dimmable power plug (probably from AduroSmart https://www.robbshop.nl/adurosmart-eria-dimbare-stekker-200w-wit-zigbee).
Any views / suggestions?
The Hue Bridge and Homee seems to be mentioned most. (I don't want Amazon Alexa.)
Thanks!
Hi!
With Ikea Dirigera Hub, I use blinds and I understand the possibility of resetting the blinds by double pressing the physical button on the blinds.
I have an issue with the blinds. They can also be reset by double-calling the API function to open/close them. This is a problem with, for example, matter and Home Assistant. If you accidentally double-press the button to close the blinds, they are reset instead. This isn't very pleasant.
The blinds can be also accidentally reset by double-pressing the IKEA remote control. Why?
Can I forbid resetting the blinds via API? I think the physical button should be enough.
Could this be changed? Please.
Just checking if there are other ways to get around this issue?
I tried the various DNS, Port, Router changes and seems that nothing is working.
I also tried to to connect it to a cellular network as well and another friend's fiber connection but to no avail. Although these connections seem to be CGNAT.
I tried to spy on the communications using Wireshark and the hub only broadcasts mDNS stuff and nothing else. I found out the firmware version this way.
I am not in a hurry to set this up but seems that it is a missed opportunity. For context, I am running Philips Hue, Home Assistant (with Zigbee dongle), HomeKit in the same network with no issues.
Not sure where to post this but I believe some Ikea people are reading this channel.
I have parasoll contact sensors on my doors:
- if the door is closed and I open and re-close the door within a short time, the status shows "open"
- if the door is open and I close and re-open the door within a short time, the status shows "closed"
Big issue. It's really time for an overdue firmware update of these things, they are the only devices from ikea that don't work well to my experience. Aside from this new issue, the batteries go very quickly and they keep disconnecting.
Hello everyone,
I am based out of the UAE, I went today to purchase a couple of the smart plugs, and I was informed by the IKEA staff that these items have been discontinued and they are not aware of any planned restocking or replacement items so far. The gateway and bulbs are still available and in stock.
I checked online and there are no news or mention of this, so is anyone aware of such an announcement or could this be a local issue only? (specific to the UAE)
Living in Sweden and have activated the Beta functionality for tracking energy consumption via our energy provider..
The data has been imported from my energy provider but for some reason a chunk of data is missing.
2022, and 10 months of 2023 have been imported. 2024 is missing. Data reappears from the 19th January 2025 and onwards.
I know it is beta, but good if this can be corrected somehow. Any ideas ?
Using the Home Smart app on an iPhone if that is at all relevant.
What set up should I have to automatically connect my 4 smart blinds (PRAKTLYSING) with Alexa? I have an Echo 2nd gen and Echo Dot 4th gen.
Do I need a hub such as Tradfri or can live without it?
Hi all,
I have in my ikea Home Smart app some different scenes that change color, light intensity etc. on various bulbs in my home.
But when I create a scene in Google home, it doesn't quite work as it should. It won't change the color/temperature of the bulbs. It can turn them on and off. But only in the colors/temperatures that were last turned on.
Is there anything I can do?
After around one year on dirigera I decided to try aatter switch to control my lights. The setup is as follows: ZigBee controllers for LED strips connected to dirigera IKEA remote controlling the lights Dirigera switching lights on and of based on time or the remote
New item: IM pushbutton Module by www.innovation-matters.at to be hidden behind standard light switch to control the ZigBee or IKEA lights.
Unfortunately I am not able to connect to the pushbutton, the matter products seem to have a we code for connecting but there is no option in the IKEA app to use this.
Am I thinking wrong?
Looking at getting one of these to connect up to HomeAssistant. The IKEA website suggests that it must be completed with DIRIGERA, but does anyone have experience of using this with the older TRADFRI hub?

I recently bought an as-is "open box" Dirigera hub. When I got home to set it up, the device is connected to another person's email who I don't know at all. The only way it seems for me to connect myself is to have it send them an email and they verify it immediately. But that's near impossible considering I don't know them. Could anyone please let me know what I should do? Thanks!
Looks like I now can add a second Hub (home) on dirigera. I am using Android.
Has anybody seen a changelog?
There is a very noticeable lag between bulbs when using adaptive lighting and the styrbar. Please see the video. Is there any way to fix this? Thank you in advance!
My hub has gone offline and I was googling on how to debug in one of the first hits was this subreddit. Right now I would just like a good set of debug instructions to figure out what's going wrong. Would be nice to get it back online without a factory reset. Or maybe it's just completely borked?.
There is a light lit on it but I honestly cannot say if that is normal because I have it tucked away somewhere where I haven't seen it in the last year since I first installed it.
I'm really interested in adding the new VINDSTYRKA air quality sensor to my Google Home Eco System which is currently running with a load of Traffic bulbs using the original hub. Disappointingly, I've seen that my existing hub doesn't support the Vindstryka so I need to buy a Dirigera Hub. I guess my question is it worth it?
I have a Chromecast and Dirigera hub. I connect Google Home to the Dirigera with Matter. The devices show as offline, so I can’t control them. However, in Apple Homekit I can control them. I can’t program the remote however in Homekit as I don’t have a Homepod.
Upon searching the issue I see the Dirigera is a Matter bridge but not a Matter hub. Also the Chromecast 4K is not apparently. I’m wondering: is this the reason my devices are showing offline in Google Home? Do I now also need to buy a Google Mini/Nest/4K streamer? If so, why doesn’t it work in Google Home without hub whereas in Homekit it does?
Hello,
I’m trying to connect my Somrig remote to Tradfri lamps. It does connect, as the lamps blink after I hold the connect button for about 10 seconds next to them. But they don’t do anything afterwards. I tried resetting the Somrig but nothing changes. I don’t use the dirigera hub, or other hubs.
Does anyone know the solution to this problem?
Many thanks in advance :)
Been waiting a few months now for these to return, but no update at all from Ikea.
There were quite a few HomeKit blinds announced at CES and I’m tempted to just go with those soon.
Has anyone heard anything?
EDIT: To clairfy, I am from the UK. FYRTUR and PRAKTLYSING all gone since late last year.
I've had a Tradfri setup going with a Dirigera hub for a few months now. Mainly, it consists of 8 lightbulbs in 3 groups (each group representing one light fixture in my apartment):
*3 candelabras
*2 candelabras
*3 standard E26 bulbs (1100lm)
I also have 3 Stryrbar remotes, but I rarely use these. I then use the Alexa skill to connect the hub to my Alexa speakers so I can do voice control.
It's the last group, the 3 1100lm E26 bulbs, which I've been having trouble with starting a couple of weeks ago or so. After months of working fine, it starting having an issue . Itseems like one of the three bulbs will randomly disconnect from the hub after a few hours to a day, usually overnight, and start acting like a regular light bulb (responding to the wall switch alone.) So I'll go to sleep after turning the lights off with Alexa, then in the morning one of the three bulbs has illuminated overnight. It has just disappeared from both IKEA Home Smart and Amazon Alexa apps. The attached Stryrbar also disappears.
This requires me to reset and re-pair all 3 bulbs (1100 lumen) to the hub, then set them back up in Alexa and with my Stryrbar remote. Incredibly annoying. This repeated itself, with the same bulb, several times.
I figured this had to be an issue with the bulb since it was always the same bulb, so I went to IKEA a few days ago and they let me return it, which I then used to buy another 1100 lumen bulb (technically not the same product, maybe subtly different in shape, but functionally the same - the old version is no longer in stock. Both are 1100lm bulbs) Reconnect the bulbs, everything is fine (besides the new bulb turning itself off once) for about 2 days.
Then this morning, I find that ANOTHER one of the old 1100lm Tradfri bulbs has started behaving the same way, even though that bulb had been working completely fine before I replaced the first problematic bulb.
Is there some sort of network issue at play here? 2.4ghz interference? There seems to be no way to debug Zigbee connections in the IKEA app or find out what channel they are communicating on. Or is this just an issue with the older 1100lm IKEA bulbs?
I have my faithful E2002 Styrbar buttons for years, in use with my smart home controller and it has being working fine. However just since today morning, I found the button is probably bad -
Is this device dead? What can I do to further diagnose / fix? Thanks in advance!
I just got the remote and also purchased a AAA standard battery that read a 1.5v and put them in but nothing happened even after bushing the button for more then 10s.
I have a window that is 33.5" from frame to frame on the inside. Is the sizing on the Tredansen spot on? It doesn't look like the 32" is available anymore and 30" will just cover the vinyl part of the window if it's perfect, while 34" will be too large. I'm really hoping they run like .5" small so I can get the 34" and have it fit, but if the 30" will be exact, I can live with that. I see they can't be trimmed, so no cutting the 34" down to size.
Alright, certified fool here. If there’s cords involved I just lose my head.
I’m debating buying four YTBERG lights for four Billy bookcases. It sounds like I need both the ANSLUTA and the TRÅDFRI as well.
My question is, how many each of these would I need?
Much obliged. 🙇♀️
Heya, sorry if this is not appropriate for the sub.
I have a garage in which the electrical wiring makes no sense, with a light bulb on the outside but the switch is on the inside, meaning that if I want to switch on the light I have to first open the garage door, rendering the light itself useless.
Before I take an Aliexpress lamp with a solar panel on and a motion sensor, i wanted to try the Ikea way:
Take a bulb and set it on when motion is detected on the Vallhorn sensor, positioned on the outside of the garage door to make it make sense.
I do have some questions:
Thank you all for you answers in advance!
Having a very frustrating issue with the Tradfri wireless motion sensor. It’s paired with a Tradfri led driver, and 8 Omlopp led puck lights.
I’ve had it installed for well over a year without issue, but lately it has been getting triggered multiple times a night, in the middle of the night, with nobody in that particular room. We have no pets either. It’s the room across the hall from our bedroom, so I can see at night when the lights in that room light up. Last night, they turned on at least three times on their own.
Is this just indicative of a low battery perhaps? Is the sensor old and failing? Or is my house just haunted?
