Betting Pool: The Final Battle!

So here's the skinny, unless people really want a comprehensive listing of the points for round 6 I'm not gonna bother because we have the more important task at hand of determining the winner of the whole shebang because there's a tie between Dean_Marias and Dunkan Bulk.

Here's how we gonna do this:

  1. Each contender will post one meme example of Joseph Ducreux.

  2. Everyone else will vote on the two Joes.

  3. Friday Night/Saturday morning when I get home from work I'll count up the votes. Highest number of upvotes is crowned the victor!

Gentlemen, GET YOUR MEME ON!

All of the mods on /r/TournamentOfMemes would like to thank everyone who participated in this year's Tournament. We simply couldn't have this Tournament every year without your help and your persistence... and, of course, without your clever memes to vote on!

Please check us out again later in the year; along with the annual Tournament, there may be some smaller Tournaments to come. With a little luck, next year's Tournament should be even bigger, with a couple of useful new features that I've been working on. So stay cool, and we'll catch you all next year!

Round 6 Betting is closed

There's still another day or so left to vote for Fry or Ducreux, but the betting is closed out. Around tuesday I'll be announcing the final tally. Since the question came up in the betting thread, if there's a tie I'll create a tie breaker thread for the highest scoring guys to post examples of the winning meme and whichever uses gets the most upvotes wins the day.

2013 Round 6 [Final Match]: Joseph Ducreux vs. Futurama Fry

Hello, everyone! Please be mindful of the rules: only upvotes count as votes for a meme. Please try to avoid downvoting the opposition. Downvotes do not count against a post, but they can make it harder for me to tally up scores accurately.

Comments consisting of a meme's name with no other content will be removed.

Some things to keep in mind:

  1. Please post memes in your comments.

  2. Please remember to add the name of the meme you're submitting in your comment. You can format them like this:

[The Most Interesting Man In The World bows out graciously.](http://i.imgur.com/wh3f1Qr.png)

Which becomes: The Most Interesting Man In The World bows out graciously.

  3. Please don't post racist or offensive memes. Please report racist or offensive memes.

  4. Please try to avoid posting duplicate memes. Duplicates don't contribute to the meme's score and they may divert votes from scoring memes that do count. Please report duplicate memes so they can be removed promptly.

  5. Quickmeme has been banned across Reddit. Suggested alternative meme-creating sites are Imgur, Livememe, Memedad, Wuzu, and Meme Generator. (Note: Imgur plays nicely with RES.)

If you support a meme, please remember to vote for the three highest-scoring memes; those are the ones that get counted for the match.

Ties will be decided by the adding fourth-highest scoring memes along with the usual top three. If there aren't four of each meme, whichever contestant has four memes to score will win by default and advance to the next round.

Thank you, and have fun!

Round 6 Betting

Looks like this final round will be Fry vs Ducreux.

Rules:

  1. Everyone gets 500 points to bet this round. If it's your first round, that's all you get.

  2. The bets must be in whole numbers (no decimal points, fractions etc.) to keep the math simple. Any bets with fractions or what not will get rounded down. I know that might seem like a drag, but when I'm adding up numbers for dozens of people I need to keep things simple as possible.

  3. You must state your bet as a number! This may sound like a repeat of rule #2, but I feel it necessary because a lot of people in previous rounds have posted "all my points on [___]" or something to that effect. Going forward this will not be considered acceptable. If you don't include a specific number in your bet it will not be considered valid.

Good Luck Everyone!

I'm closing the betting now so that there's time for the point to continue accruing before a final winner is determined.
