Hi Tempo fam! I’m a lifelong Raptors and NBA fan since 1992 when I was 6.. I’m now 38 and I have a 3 year old daughter who I’ll be raising as a Tempo fan.
I’m SO EXCITED for what the future has in store for us all, mostly for the young girls that this team will inspire to do great things in all aspects of their lives.
I can definitely say that basketball made a huge positive impact in my life. I’ve learned so much about being a player from what I’ve learned from watching games over the years.
I remember visiting the Skydome as a kid with my dad, and seeing the court from the Hard Rock Cafe. It was such an epic moment for me.
I’m looking forward to going down that path again but this time around with my daughter and our Tempo, Raptors (again) and the 905! Here’s to creating new memories and striving to achieve greatness!
I was just at the Frost @ Scepters game at Coca-Cola last Saturday. Attendance was close to 8k. Ticket price ranges from 50 to 125cad and there was a decent amount of open seats left. Most of the other future Scepters games were close to being sold out. The support for the team when the league is only in it's second season is amazing.
I assume Tempo games will be bigger. I just hope I can come and afford a decent amount of games.
Given we will be in the 2026 WNBA Draft along with Portland, I wonder if whoever we grab in that Draft, if we don't just center our franchise around that player we Draft right out of college? I know we will most likely be a lottery team for the first couple of years but if we collect high Draft picks, then who knows where we can go after that.
I don’t like the name tempo but I can see it growing on me
The logo on the other hand is horrible
If we complain enough do you think they will listen to the fans?
Toronto Tempo is a stupid name and the logo is pretty stupid too...not a fan of the name or the logo but who knows maybe with enough time I will change my mind but I'm taking a wait and see approach with all this. But don't get me wrong I love that the Women's game is here in Toronto. Don't get me wrong but it is just a name I wouldn't have gone with or a logo I would have gone with either.
But that being said once 2026 does roll around, it begs the question now doesn't it, how is this expansion draft going to work for us when we come into the league at the exact same time as Portland? That is 2 separate expansion drafts simultaneously and not to mention you would have the 2026 WNBA Draft right after that. So where would the Tempo fall there? Would we get the 4th or 5th pick?
What are the chances they'll have merchandise available for the holidays? Name and logo are what they are, but I'd still like to get some shirts for the family.
We are proud to announce that our WNBA franchise name will officially be the Toronto Tempo!
