Sick of making small talk or struggling to have deeper conversations at meetups?
I'm hosting a Short Reads Social on Wednesday Jan 15th 7-10 pm @ Annex Hotel Cafe/Bar! Its a casual meetup for anyone who loves having deep conversations about pop culture, psychology, or history 📖💬
This month's meetup is all about the concept of new years resolutions, how it became so prevalent (and now controversial) in (Western) popular culture, and why it even matters: meetup.com/bookclubforhumans/events/305221115/?slug=bookclubforhumans&eventId=305221115
How does it work? We'll have suggested articles in the link and prompt sheets at the meetup to get people going. Otherwise it's the same fun as any other meetup (and you don't have to read the articles or use the sheets if you don't want to).
See you there!

Hi everyone!
Come drink, eat, and hang out with fellow Toronto Redditors on Saturday, December 28, at the Toronto Reddit Holiday meetup! This is a no-cost no RSVP event (though we encourage you to share if you're coming so we can give the venue a rough head count).
We'll be on the second floor of The Artful Dodger starting at 8:00 p.m. The Artful Dodger is located a short walk from Bloor-Yonge station at 10 Isabella St. You can find the group at the tables on the second floor, across from the bar.
If you've never been to a Reddit meetup, everyone is very welcoming and conversations always extend beyond the Reddit platform itself, with no questions about your username. If you are returning, you'll likely recognize some faces, but there are always new folx to meet.
FAQ:
If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment publicly or message me privately. I keep an eye on my account leading up to and even during the event. Friendly warning I don't see everything right away while I'm at the event, so please keep that in mind.
If you read all of that, kudos! If not, see TL;DR below.
your hosts, u/imop44 and u/nervousTO.
