Hello! So I am working on my final animation for a class, and I made my storyboard frames on ToonBoom Harmony and now am working on the scenes. I want to split the one file into multiple files, and I have been looking everywhere for how to do it and I cannot figure it out. Help would be greatly appreciated!
Hi! I'm working with a client that needs me to deliver the drawings in PNG files. The thing is if the drawing holds for 3 frames he wants to import the drawing to After Effects as a single image and adjust the timing there and he wants me to deliver the drawing as a single frame without the holds, even though in the Harmony timline I have to hold it to see if the cleanup I do is working
Is there a way to render each drawing as a separate file instead of the drawing and it's holds in the PNG sequence?
Sorry if this is confusing
It’s my first time doing puppet animation and I’ve hit a wall with my character rotating. It works completely fine for all rotations except the left 3/4 to straight on (and in reverse): it flips as shown in the video.
How do I fix this? Seems like a pretty big thing for rigs to be unable to do so I’m assuming this isn’t normal? Thank you :)
Would anyone know how to re-link missing sound files in TB Harmony Essential 21.1. I've removed them to another folder and as a result my TB file will not open properly and keeps giving me the same message even after relocating the sound files.
The error message displayed is:
“Cannot find scene sound file squeeze-90778.mp3.”
I purchased toon boom essentials perpetual plan without the upgrade option - i tried to upgrade to premium but option was not available - i raised a ticket on toon boom website for sales query - I received an email informing that I need a upgrade plan with the perpetual license to do the upgrade which i don't have - I raised another ticket under sales on toon boom website - if i had any option to do the upgrade now - I received email from same sales person and she informed that she can send an invoice and i can do the upgrade with support plan or without support plan - I agreed to do the upgrade without support plan - she emailed a invoice which gives option to pay - the invoice seems suspicious as it directs me to pay to PayPal and the invoice says that it will take 3 business days to confirm the payment and i need to inform the sales person after the payment is complete as per her email the toon boom Licensing Team will give me further information regarding the upgrade after 3 business days - as i am making a big payment would like to know if this is the correct process . When i purchased harmony essentials from the toon boom website it was instant and i was able to download activate the software withing few minutes. Need input here if anyone has any experience if this is normal process or a scam - i hope this query is normal
So I have this rig for class but the arrange buttons won't work. I select the layer it then used keyboard shortcuts and manually do it in the animation tab but it still won't work. Please help
How does one copy and paste a part of a drawing to another frame and move it around without all of the frames being affected?
... that frame a scene are missing. How do i get them back?
What version is right for me?, I’m a beginner at toonboom, I have used adobe flash in the past
First time creating a full character rig and I'm wondering how to approach the hands. I mean, I guess I'd want flat open, clenched fist, something in between those two, a grabbing hand, pointing finger, etc. and then each of those for different angles? Am I missing anything here, or am I making it too complicated? At least I can just copy and flip all these for the opposite hand. Does anyone have a useful sheet showing all the hand positions in a typical rig?
You guys must have felt it, I know every time I look at this interface which hasn't changed other than becoming more cluttered since 2014 or the poor integration of things like 3d. The fact a modern professional software can't even have the courtesy of creating a backup copy before it crashes is just another reminder that toon boom must be reborn.
I want a software that can adapt better to the creative process rather than forcing me into it's highly rigid and very clunky workflow. Technical issues are ALWAYS getting in the way of creativity. Animating on paper its just me, the canvas and my skills.
I waste SO MUCH TIME switching between tools and windows. Selection tool, transform tool, contour tool, line tool it's ridiculous.
The timeline and play head completely suck. Why not just have a tick box to play at 75% instead of that terrible slider? Making selections in the timeline is so frustrating! The way the timeline resizes is frustrating! I could go on and on.
What does storyboard even do that photoshop cant?! Sound? That's it? How much money was wasted? Photoshop has generative fill and neural filters and costs $20 a month when storyboard costs $74.50!
Innovate or get left behind!
I can't be the only one who feels like this! When I finish a project with toon boom I dont get a feeling of having accomplished something but rather Relief that its over.
I find it annoying that I have to color again and again bc the line art has a small change which is the eyes blinking. I was wondering if there is a way to increase the exposure of the color frame (which is on the color layer) or duplicate the colors only to save time.
I’ve been having this issue since I got my new laptop a few years ago, every time I try to render an animation that has audio there’s no audio in the video. I could always just add the audio in an editing program but that’s extra work I don’t want to do when I was able to render animations with audio before just fine before. Any advice or reasons it could be happening?
Also for context I have tried multiple file types for the audio and it STILL doesn’t work.
What gen of I7 works well??
Looking to build my son a new rig to run TB Harmony 24 Premium.
I'm looking at either I7 13th or 14th Gen.
I want it to run well from the start as he is choosing animation as a career path.
Thanks
I am trying to get a straight zoom out on a shot, but at the beginning or end it decides to randomly start shifting upward. The camera path is supposed to be a straight line, but it looks curved (as ive illustrated on the image below), and I have NO idea how to fix it, or why it is doing that. Could I get some help please?
Hi there,
I wanted to ask you about the Essentials version of Toon Boom. I was doing an assignment for animation classroom where you have to mark drawings as keyframes, and a red k in the top of the program will appear. But it seems that I can´t access to that option in my essentials version, so I wonder if this a limitation cause of the version or other thing. Thanks in advance for the attention.
I put an image about my toon boom work space. As you can see, if I right click, the mark drawing option doesn´t appear.
I dont know how to explain this any better but this is happening on my computer only and nowhere else. when I press down to draw a new line, the line is really smooth. when i let go the line switches to charcoal, which is the preset I always use. how do I make it stay as a charcoal preset as im drawing?
how do I also bring my pen presets back? as I was trying to fix it I accidentally deleted most default brushes. i dont know how to bring the presets to my file
I need answers asap because Im working on something due next week. please and thank you
Hi everyone, I'll ve quick I'm currently 2D animating with vectors, I can draw just fine with nice resolution, but here's the thing: ever since today whenever I hit the playback button, it just kills the lines, making them pixelated. The moment I hit pause, lines look good again I've double checked I'm using vector brushes instead of bitmap ones, tried restarting my computer, checking for updates, bit nothing seems to help. It's not such a big deal, but it is pretty annoying to see, could anyone help please?
I have an illustration in photoshop and i have some adjustment layers. Curves that make up the light and dark sources. Vibrance, hue saturation, and color balance that are for the mood. But they don't show in toon boom. There are in the node view and timeline but not in the camera view. How do i make them show?
EDIT: I've checked render view and matte view, they are still invisible
Hi, I was wondering if there's a way to change those shortcuts you have to keep pressing.
I am talking about "Ctrl" for the Select Tool, "Spacebar" for moving the canvas and the like.
I didnt find anything in the preferences and shortcuts menu. I didn't even find any script in the Toon Boom program folder that could be referring to these things but admittedly I didn't even know what to look for...
Is there a way to change or disable these kind of shortcuts?
Hi everybody,
I'm Garrett -- I'm learning Retakes Animation right now so juggling Animation and Harmony learning at the same time. It's nice to meet you guys.
I wanted to say hi and ask what do you all do?
Hobbyists? Any specific job in Harmony? Where are ya from?
And does anybody happen to be in The Animation Guild? Cheers
I have a psd that is 8000x5000 and it is taking forever to import into toon boom. Is there anything i can do to import it into toon boom faster without cropping out some of the detail in the illustration?
I was wondering if anyone has had experience with the new featured added in Harmony 24 allowing you to export your files directly to After Effects?
Ive tried looking at official ToonBoom documentation and outside resources but couldnt find anything going in depth about it. The most they do is mention that its a feature and move on. Im assuming thats because they want you to composite directly in Harmony but I cant do that as the project im working on requries me to use After Effects.
Any help is appreciated, thank you!!
I'm looking for toonboom tutorials to help me animate my photoshop illustration. I want to rotate some objects, use opacity, make objects slide from one side to the other, etc. Can anyone recommend some good tutorials that go over animating illustrations? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
