I was just scrolling and found it on my feed. Made yesterday too?
There´s definitely keyboards and synths on several Tool songs, so I wonder if he contributed to that in the studio. Maybe some guitar as well, although I see that as much less likely.
For the fans that have more information than me, on that matter, I´m all ears.
Im looking into tool's iconic history and am requesting any tracks that have been almost lost or over looked from Tool. Like Divorced im not looking for ultra rare trax Im looking for lost tracks that might be hidden or otherwise unknown. Please provide legendary lore!
A few asked to see the board and amps! using the BigShot by Radial for both of them. The Access Virus is plugged to the HK speakers. All pedals are in the front of the amps, no FX loop!
Looking to get an art portfolio for all my show posters foils and non foils. Does anyone have one and are they reliable?
AI Prompt: You are Maynard James Keenan from the band Tool. Write the lyrics for a new song, in the style of Lateralus, that focuses on the shift in magnetic poles.
Output:
"Magnetic Reverie" Trace the current, twist the axis, Draw the lines that weave through static. The earth hums low, a pulse rewiring, Fields converging, charge aligning.
(Chorus) Shift the poles, the compass failing, Spinning spirals, direction fading. North and south dissolve, transposing, Embrace the flow, magnetic closing.
Veins of iron beneath the surface, Molten tides conduct their purpose. Chaos forming perfect balance, Inversion breeds a quiet malice.
Shatter borders, redrawn patterns, Gravity bends as the core it shatters. Auroras blaze, their colors bleeding, Signals lost, a new world seeding.
Not sure why I'm surprised but I have seen crazy amount of listings for this thing
I asked “Would you like the (best) songs in Chronological order or placed in a somewhat coherent way?” She chose chronological order.
As far as I know, Maynard only has done vocals on all of Tool´s albums, without playing any instruments in the recordings (Feel free to correct me if I´m wrong, btw).
But I love that he doesn´t feel the need to include ad-libs where they don´t belong, or continously trying to make himself present on a section where an instrumental break would feel better. Tool has long intros, long extended jam sections, where Maynard stepping aside gives a chance to the jams and the free-flowing of the instrumentation.
Even though most agree that this happens the most on Fear Inoculum (and I´ve seen criticism for that), the albums previous to that have Maynard stepping aside quite a few times. Vicarious wouldn´t be the great opener it is without that minute long buildup into the intro. The 3 minute atmospheric intro for Reflection, same for Eulogy, there´s several.
Granted though, if Maynard indeed only did vocals on the records and never recorded anything else, not even synth or keyboard parts, then this is a similar situation to Kyuss (albeit John Garcia didn´t write lyrics until their last album), where the vocalist is not shy to step aside every once in a while for the instrumentation to go front and center.
See what your thoughts are.
Idk, just curious.
I’ve been looking for this shirt for a while now. Never had a chance to get it from the Tool store. Anyone have one they’d like to sell?
Maynard on vocals, Adam on guitar, Justin on bass, Danny on drums.
You can add songs to plead your case.
I just feel like I'm a cool fan, not like a regular fan
