For years ive heard this ambient sound sample. What is your Interpretation for these sounds? Is this Lustmord or EJ Baresi's work? It sounds Ambient, like people at a banquet. What would be your reason these sounds fit on the album?
Friends, I have stumbled across a preset which sounds quite close to the sound Adam Jones uses when he plays the synth solo in Pneuma.
It's in the Korg Arp Odyssey VST and the preset is called iOD Sync Lead.
I had to make a couple of mods to tweak it slightly:
I'd searched previously on the net and never found any help on this one, so I hope this helps someone out there!
My settings are shown in the screenshot.
Also, if you really wanna get into this song and have been searching for a good live video so you can see Adam's fret positions and chord shapes, I highly recommend the live at Louder Than Life festival version available on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/svlBQGDEuRY?si=yVm5prdlJzvmbhi3
The amazing filmer stays on Adam the whole time. Perfect for the guitar geeks 😉

Been a Tool fan for over 20 years. I know the songs inside and out and have seen them 7 times. I was listening to Reflection the other day and I was suddenly hit with a feeling that is hard to describe. I can only describe it as that moment you realize you're in a lucid dream. Mind you I was stone sober.
I pulled out my phone and read the lyrics. Again, I've sung along to these words in my car on full blast countless times. But this time was different. This time I knew them to be true. It was so intuitive, like remembering the platonic forms. I can't explain it other than this. Read these words slowly. They are a true Upanishad:
And in my darkest moment, feeble and weeping The moon tells me a secret, a confidant As full and bright as I am This light is not my own and A million light reflections pass over me
Its source is bright and endless She resuscitates the hopeless Without her, we are lifeless satellites drifting
And as I pull my head out I am without one doubt Don't wanna be down here soothing my narcissism away. I must crucify the ego before it's far too late I pray the light lifts me out Before I pine away
I’m looking for the Aenima and 10,000 Days albums on vinyl and I’m having a hard time. Any suggestions of where I could find these? I’ve checked local record stores and the only place online I’m seeing them is Drowned World Records, but I’ve found a post on Reddit about how others haven’t had the best experiences with this vendor. Appreciate any insite! Trying to get my hands on these for my bfs Birthday/ Christmas present.

I’ve seen the boys quite a few times but with the exception of one festival I’ve always been further from the stage. It’s a goal of mine to sit very close in an area/indoor venue show. In everyone’s experience personally it is a great move or no? I’ve been told by multiple army members that it’s actually best to sit where I always do, middle, a bit further from the stage, so the lights/lazers/production can really be seen across the whole venue. Thoughts?
Looks like Caduceus is hosting a wine tasting and wine dinner in Santa Monica / Los Angeles next week. No food menu for the dinner that I could find, but the wines are listed.
Disposition and Triad are goated asf too but Reflection is just on another level. Who else agrees?
Just noticed it today and it about blew my mind, I’ve gotta listen to this album more with that in mind
I love TOOL with all my heart but GTFO here.
Sale so now a $25 t shirt that was $70 are marked down to $25.
I love you guys but come on.
Anyone plan on going? I just came back from punta Cana I love the place, just not sure how a TOOL show would be on the beach? Could be cool as hell, could totally lack the visual effects at the same time. Any thoughts? Does it seem worth the package price? I’ve never been to a festival so not really sure how they’re typically priced. But I don’t think I’ve seen much discussion about it on here, interested in what everyone thinks about it.
I always thought the line was "Ash and Urn and in Silence"
But YT Music is saying it's "I should learn in this silence".
Both make sense in the context of the song..... So which one is it??
My mother, Judith Dianne Wright passed away last night. She was 78 years old. I’m the youngest of 3 boys and the 4th favorite; my oldest brother has a son, family joke. My heart is absolutely devastated. I turned 50 on October 29, my parent celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Nov 4th, my wife and I celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary on the 7th. I started listening to Tool in 94’ and they are my favorite band. I’ve met Adam and Danny in 2010. Today, by the grace of God, every song that played resonated with the power I’ve never felt before. Lyrics gave new meaning to the emotions that are flowing through me. I haven’t even brought myself to listen to wings 1, 2. But every song hit with a ton of bricks. I hope their music makes you feel like i do no matter the season you’re in. It’s amazing the endless interpretations each song has. Credit to MJK for being a master at his craft. Thank you Tool community. Tim
It also sounds like some other songs in between the beginning and the end one in particular i hear is schism and pneuma but this song was released in 2018. It looks like so what are we to believe? I don’t remember Pneuma being a tour song per-aug 30,2019. Not only is supposed tool sounding it’s almost as if one is ripping off the other and I’ll be surprised if not because I don’t remember him playing I remember playing like descending and culling voices and stuff like that I can’t remember them playing pneuma on their fear innoculum warm up tour. If you went into the show that you were likely to have seen it on a big screen probably August 30th 2019. I think it was August. It was the release date for obviously for you, not him and when all their music streaming for the first time ever, which is so funny and of itself, but that’s not what this is about this is about who ripped off who. And I’m kind of just kidding about that. It’s pretty clear who ripped off who. It’s just weird. I don’t remember them playing pneuma at that concert. The song ripple sounds exactly like the beginning of it. It’s almost as if they’re a cover band that’s just decided to change up the music and lyrics a lot leaving behind most of the original music.
Now on to the Guinness book of world record. I found this when I was looking up Kolm also mainly when I was looking up the release date of fear inoculum the album cause I’m pretty sure it said August 30, 2019 at the tour. I just want to make sure I was right but anyway, as for the world record. It was here that I found this out on August 19. They release fear inoculum as a single and I don’t know if that’s right or not because I thought they only released 7empest (I swear sometimes I feel like tool names shit weird just to piss us off as we’re typing. I hate spelling it like that. Ænima I get it but dammit did they have to? No! Does anyone know what the seven is about anyone? I’m sure it has some numerology thing with Danny involved), but any way according to Wikipedia, it says fear innoculum was the longest single to ever cracked the top 100 upon the release and I’m thinking of myself wait a second that has to be 7empest that’s the only one they released. But they keep referring to fear inoculum as being the longest nowhere 7empest. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fear_Inoculum_(song)?wprov=sfti1#
By show of hands who else thinks it was on purpose that they chose the longest song on the album to release as the it single from the album? Kinda like a big FU to all you fucking Green Day fans.
PS any Green Day fans who get butt hurt over this deserve it you’re not a real tool fan if you don’t know the reference. 😂
I've been listening to several of Maynard's interviews (Lipps Service - https://youtu.be/vazQ8aXV5Cs?si=Ut82Ab_fz5SOErPH or Bert's - https://youtu.be/0JKCKGiZX88?si=sSlIfB6cZn8AueR_ to name a few) and I've noticed a common theme where he tends to avoid talking about Danny, Justin, or Adam. He won't even mention them by name for some reason. He frequently mentions Mat Mitchell (Puscifer) or Billy Howerdel (APC) and what they're doing but not the Tool guys. For a Tool fan, I'm frequently left wanting to hear something Tool related but not getting it. Is it because nothing is happening on the Tool front? What about his relationships with Danny/Justin/Adam? Thoughts?
