I was a purist, having played the original games back on PS1, there's no way I would play with any other control method than the ones that I had engraved on my mind.
When I got the remasters, I tried the modern controls just out of curiosity, hated them, reverted back to classic controls in the same instant.
Now, having finished all the games and starting a new run (after a lot of patches too) I decided to force myself to use the modern controls, and once you learn how to use them, it's a game changer.
I feel that I can play really faster, the modern controls are really fluid, and I'm glad they exist, because I know the classic controls are an acquired taste - those of us who played the originals might not mind, but it can be a deal breaker for new players.
If you're a purist like I was, I feel it might be a good idea to give it a try. At least it's a different way to play the games we all know and love.
Hoping they're going to fix AoD's controls too, fingers crossed 🤞
I was replaying TR3 and in the first level "Jungle" in this part shown in the picture you can spawn two Tigers, instead of shooting them I went inside and pulled another level to flood the place which in turn killed the Tigers in a small cutscene. And as the title says, I'm surprised they don't give you an achievement for this.
Was i the only one who thought that this series would be about survivor Lara shifting into LAU Lara and then shifting into the OG Lara? Like at the very begginning when the first rumours dropped, i thought that they would do this. I must say that what we got is very different, but i like it no matter what, i just wish to see some cool Lara scenes with cool outfits and i can’t wait to see Sam.
Does anyone know when the second season might come out?
I am trying to 100% steam achivements but multiplayer is not an option on the menu. I play on a MacBook Pro.
Is this cartoon after tomb raider or Shadow of tomb raider? Watched only 15 min of ep 1 and i am confused
Like I think survivor Lara trilogy was like just a origin story, and shadow happens when Lara is 26, unified lara would be good design for a more mature and secure of herself 30+ year old Lara that actually closed her father chapter in shadow also I would like a Lara that use the double pistol + the bow like thanks to the new trilogy I feel the bow is also an iconic wepons for Lara, not at the same level of the double pistol but still
Sorry for the very stupid question.
I'm trying to get back into Arabic to practice, and thought that playing Tomb Raider in Arabic might be a nice idea.
I want to play on my MAC. However, I haven't played a video game since I'm 5, and feel incredibly stupid right now! I find all of these versions to download, they all have a different price, and I'm not sure if every languages is included. Any advice?
(Also: can you confirm that this is indeed a good idea? Are there actually texts / dialogues ?)
I have a Switch, DS, 2DS, Wii U and pc, but the latter isn't the newest of the newest.
Since they announced the remaster of The Last Revelation, Chronicles and The Angel of Darkness, I've been curious about it. Sadly when I went to look up online what the best order is I didn't find anything!
I've only seen Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider: The Cradle of life.
Retro Round Sunglasses or Classic Angel of Darkness sunglasses?
I’m moving house in a week and the internet will take another week until it’s connected so I’ll have 7 days of dvds and offline games … hoping I can continue with tombraider where I left off ? ( previous online save )
So I was thinking on what would be a really good TR game that would break some new ground and I think I have an idea. TR3 hit the nail on the head with being able to choose your starting locations after the intro level which I think was cool. What if, they did that, but each location in the game was done in the style of Rise. Just imagine it, each location being roughly the same size as Rise but there are 4 to 5 locations total that are somewhat open ended by design. Add in dual wielding, some mysterious artifact ripe for the taking and I think it would make for a really good addition. Some locations could be goon heavy and others could be animal heavy to help balance out the gameplay.
Locations could be the following
-Chongqing -Alaskan Wilderness -The Kimberlies (Australia) -Congo Basin
With the final location being a lost city inside Mount Kilimanjaro
Of course none of this will ever happen but I would still find it neat if we got something that ever so slightly resembles it.
I understand why some people don't love the 2013 Tomb Raider how the game portrait Lara. Despite that I love the 2013 remake the game wasn't perfect but I have fun everytime I played it.
It's one of my favorite after Legend and Anniversary. I never played Underworld because at the time I didn't an Xbox 360 or PS3.
I recently purchased the tomb Raider remastered l-III, I have hard time playing the game with the modern controller.
The remake don't deserve the hate.
Cause I think maybe, just maybe someone should've told them: "No"
I’ve loved the tomb Raider games ever since I was a child playing them in the 90s. And even at a young age, the thing that always stood out to me was the soundtrack and some of the background ambience.
I’ve always found it weird most people tend to listen to music whether it be metal, pop, or hip-hop , but I found that I would always look for the OSTs for Tomb Raider because some of the background ambience and all of the musical textures just spoke out to me.
I recently found that on Spotify, Nathan McRee has released a tomb Raider soundtrack on there with a mix of the first three games but with a more modern edge to them and I think they are absolutely incredible.
They capture the original soundtracks from the 90s perfectly but sound more refined and polished and I have become mildly addicted to listening to these every single day
Do you ever feel you might be a little weird sometimes for engrossing yourself in game soundtracks? I’ve had people message me before in the last few months saying and asking why I’m listening to game soundtracks and it almost feels slightly taboo.
As a musician myself, I’ve always been fascinated by sound and music, which is why maybe these resonate to me more.
Do you listen to the sound tracks and enjoy them?
TLDR : I’m weird for liking games soundtracks.
In 2022, according to the Colin Moriarty podcast, Lara Croft will return in a game that will focus on her struggle with loneliness, as the adventurer tries to learn to work alongside other marauders. Codenamed "Project Jawbreaker", the new game in the franchise will leave aside the focus on family dramas seen in recent releases, with the story following a different path this time. In addition, in her new journey Lara Croft will probably have a lot of contact with other marauders, who should appear with importance in the game's plot.
According to the podcaster, the new Tomb Raider shows Lara as an experienced explorer, skipping her initial phase and her learning process. In the title, the adventurer's mission will be to protect mystical artifacts to prevent a mysterious cataclysm from destroying the world.
At the time, the company,Crystal Dynamics, initiated a DMCA takedown request process against the Sacred Symbols podcast's Patreon, which was responsible for leaking the game's details. The outlet's members reportedly had access to a preliminary script created by the developer that was used as the basis for the information released.
Apparently I’m supposed to get one of those yellow security key passes that kinda look like a plug from these guards that were in this hallway, and idk if it’s a bug or because I killed then near some geometry near the walls but they never dropped one, and I can’t unlock the door in this area? I d really hate to have to start all over again…please help!
Its finaly here
I didn't mean anything negative as I loved the original TR1 and the remaster! However, I feel like there have been more changes to the 3D models in TR2 compared to 1? Lost Valley felt very different with it's amazing sky but the rest was basically just textures. TR2 seems to have a lot of model changes, anyone else noticed that?
I'm planning on getting started playing the game and I'm not really mentally ready for it. Cause I've heard that this is basically the big bang of the entire original franchise when it comes to difficulty.
So I wanna ask what do I need to know and any tips for when I get started?
