I just finished reading A Dangerous Game by Cybrid and…AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew it wasn’t finished when I started it but I had downloaded it as a pdf to read on a flight. I didn’t realize I was so close to the end until it was over. I guess I just want to reiterate how incredible of a piece it is, even if the author never completes the last arc.

This is one of if not the best characterizations of Tom that I’ve read. His growth and the amount of time it takes to even get even a taste of it! Also Hermione and Ron being absolutely canon (imo) but also not aggressively bashing.

I guess I’m curious as to what direction or conclusion you hope for if you’ve read the work. What do you think or hope Dumbledore shares? Will Tom ever let Harry fuck him? Will either Tom or Harry break the bond? Is Tom capable of love?

I’m not sure that Tom is able to love him in a traditional sense, at least in this story. But I do think he can care enough about Harry and what he adds to his life to avoid certain consequences and even go out of his way to do things for Harry. I don’t see him ever caring about anyone outside of Harry, but still willing to mitigate his more sadistic desires out of respect for Harry.

Curious to hear other people’s thoughts about this work specifically, not necessarily them as canon characters :)

I'm looking for a tomarry fic, it's mpreg. Harry escaped from a cell at V's headquarters and he ends up hiding in V's bedroom, when V finds him they are compelled by magic to have sex and Harry gets pregnant.

Dumbledore sets Harry up in a little cottage where Ron and Hermione visit sometimes. Harry has a little girl. Tom finds them and starts hanging out. Magic stills compels them to have sex so they end up together.

Two death eaters find Harry's cottage and they burn it down thinking Voldemort would be pleased. Voldemort saves Harry and their daughter and the three of them settle in Australia to be safe. Then there's some drama because Harry tells Tom he loves him and Tom has a meltdown

"Onwards", Dumbledore had said.

Harry thought Onwards meant towards his lost family. And he had wanted that bad.

Onwards it is, he decides in one moment and finds himself seated in a moving train in the next.

Harry assumed it would take him to his lost family, —and it did. It did, dont get him wrong.

But it didn't really. He walks out onto the platform when it stops and he wakes up as a crying newborn fresh out of Lily....and there goes the rest of his life.

Except, he had been totally unprepared for how empty this new and strange life felt, so totally different from his old one and yet still so much the same. When he'd realized there would be no Lord Voldemort coming in for afternoon tea and a quick Avada Kedavra or two on his first birthday or anytime after, he had sighed in what he's sure was relief and certainly not disappointment he tells himself.

And then, THEN, in fifth year, he finally meets Tom fucking Riddle of all people, and its as a little baby first year.

And when he feels his heart beat fully for the first time he bravely (foolishly) decides to try his best.

So it ends, as it always does, with love and happiness.

I know there's some amazing ones where he goes back to Wools/Hogwarts Tom but they're slightly blurring for me ATM and becoming a bit repetitive, and it's hard to search for time travel fics without them being prevalent.

So was wondering if anyone had any good recommendations of different eras. Either redo fix it or during marauders era / first wizarding war or something else entirely.

I feel like in a lot of fics tom is not as evil as he was in this one and i would really love to read something that characterized him like that! The angst and conflict Harry goes through because of his morals and Tom fighting his feeling is always my favorite part. I also would prefer it if it was Tom Riddle instead of Voldemort and there was no age gap, so probably a time travel fic, but still with a happy ending maybe?

Here, Dumbledore arrange a marriage between voldemort and Harry. After feeling betrayed by everyone harry ask voldemort to negotiate if this marriage is really happening. Dumbledore tries to send his most faithful follower with Harry but he refuse. During the negotiation harry ask about the dowry money for which voldemort replies that the money was going to the Weasleys but Harry refused by saying that to give that dowry money to Remus, the only person who did not betrayed him. Dumbledore expect that Harry should kill voldemort during their marriage but Harry refused to do it. In this fic there is Weasley, Hermione and Dumbledore bashing.

I can't tell you how many prompts, generations, cross-generations, hours & days I've had to spend to find a few images that I was like "yeah, ok, I could believe this is him". There are like 4 - 5 fanarts of him that I like, so I've decided to try finding my own version.

Hi! I honestly don’t remember much, I’ve looked all my bookmarks and can’t find it, so it could be either on ao3 or FanFiction.Net.

I remember Voldemort and Harry planning an Azkaban breakout, they save everyone and gave them treatment to make them better, I remember one time harry was on Voldemort’s study and asked how the newly rescued were doing and Voldemort said most of them were doing ok only that Bellatrix kept insinuating he wanted sex with him(Voldemort, I remember him saying something like “every time she sees me, she wants to suck my co-“) and harry asks why she even thinks that could happen if it has never happened before, at the lack of response from Voldemort he asks Voldemort if he ever had something with her.

Voldemort didn’t answer so harry takes it a yes and said “you did, didn’t you! “(Or something among those lines), Voldemort then said not to blame him as he was insane at the time. And harry to mock him further procedes to ask if he had a snake face at the time..

Overall it was a funny part meant to be like bickering, I remember it being a time travel or those master of death stories where old harry is in young Harry’s body, so he was intelligent, cunning, etc.

Pls if someone knows it or has a similar one pls help!

Hi! Any fics with Harry being as normal or ordinary as possible? Not especially smart or good looking, with no special powers or the sort. Wouldn't be able to hold his own against Tom/Voldemort or escape him. So yknow maybe more of a realistic approach to their imbalance of talent and intelligence? Or even like not having had suffered a great deal or be especially ignored or hated or stuff like that either. Like would be a normal human being I guess :D

The only one that I've come across (and absolutely loved) would be Either must die at the hand of the other. But other fics with a more of a ordinary Harry I've loved would be: Lover's Spit or What He Grows To Be or A Dangerous Game ( or A Rather Useless Inheritance)..

Also this is absolutely no way a slight against any of these authors (I could never manage to do anything even close to what these writers have managed to create, and deeply appreciate everyone who writes fanfiction) or folks who enjoy these works, but some more popular fics that don't really fit my preference would be fics like The Train to Nowhere, No Glory, Consuming Shadows, His Darkest Devotion and similar works.

I don't know how to explain it but I kind of prioritize interactions and characters that feel realistic or authentic or specific or purposeful in my reading over unique and capable main characters or interesting obstacles to defeat or stuff like that, if that makes sense? More of normal human experiencing weird things, rather than a character surviving things maybe?

So would any fics come to mind? Any setting, any trope, any rating, literally everything goes with me! Just kind of hoping for the regular Harry approach :D I would very much appreciate any and all replies!

Also hopefully this is an appropriate post, I'll for sure delete it if it comes off as rude or ungrateful for the incredible work fanfiction writers do!

Just curious as to what you guys would avoid in tomarry fics that is largely liked by the majority. For me it’s when Harry changes his name completely (e.g ‘Hadrian’, like where did this even come from? And why not Harrison?), which for some reason is really popular in these fics.

I swear this fanfic exists, or I randomly slipped into an alternate reality where it does. I hope the former is true. Spoilers ahead.

Basically the fiction goes like this: Harry finds himself trapped in the diary horcrux and thrown back in time to when Tom Riddle was at Hogwarts. He winds up communicating with Riddle through writing in the diary, and makes a deal with him for freedom in exchange for favors. Riddle gives Myrtle the diary and Harry drains her soul to gain a body and begins attending Hogwarts.

Tom and Harry quickly get into a relationship because of the favors Harry owes, and through a series of events they wind up being trained in the dark arts by Grindelwald.

I swear this fic has to exist, but I cannot seem to find it anywhere on AO3 or Fanfiction.net
