We are planning an elopement in Tofino in July and are wanting to have dinner back at our accomodation with 2 other people. What are the best restaurants for take out in Tofino? We are wanting something fancy as it is our wedding. We love all food especially seafood. Thanks in advance!
Hey Reddit. My fiancee and I will be up to Tofino in June. Where would you recommend a romantic stay? Preferably with hot tubs or soaker tubs? I saw the pacific sands place. Is it worth it? Quite pricy. But if it’s worth it, than I would jump on it!
hello! i’m going to tofino to visit my boyfriend, planning on staying from march 28th to may 1st. we keep looking for airbnbs but even the cheapest places are most definitely not worth the price, prices too high for the places+ the fees. any ideas where to find a renting for these dates ?
Family Trip June 2025. There are ~10 of us. What is the going rate for a family style 3 course dinner service? Ish?
Are there particular caterers that stand out to recommend?
Hi. I’m wondering if anyone has had any good (or bad) experiences with any realtors out here in Tofino or Ukee? Thanks in advance for any advice or recommendations
Howdy Tofino,
Mainlander here.
I love your little village in the winter when it's not busy with tourists and feels somewhat "local". Last few times we went it was dog heaven on the beaches. My dogs got their first off leash experience there when they were puppies and it was just grand. I know that the municipality has made anti-dog rules for the beaches (leash-only) and this kills the free flowing dog heaven vibe we loved about this place. If beaches are locked down now it'll affect our decision on whether or not to come this year.
We're not sticklers and will get away with what we can but generally follow the culture of the area. That being said is everybody leashed up on the beaches now? Or is it just kind the way that it always was?
Thanks in advance.
Hellooooo! Can someone give me the full recipe of Salmon and Kale Bowl from Shelter / Shed???? It was my first time ordering it and now I am obsessed with it and I live from the East! :(
I'd like the box to arrive at her doorstep without needing her to walk to a pickup point, and I'm more than happy to pay whatever it costs to get it there.
I'd love some insight from anyone who has received out of town mail before, especially in the more off-the-grid parts of Tofino :)
My partner and I have never been to Tofino and want to honeymoon there in Sept 2025. I won flights from Vancouver to Tofino, so we won't have a car. How long is a good time to stay to experience Tofino in September? Is 5 days enough? Too much? We love nature and hiking too! Thanks!
hi !! im (23f) interviewing tomorrow for a staff accommodation job out in Tofino - I’m equal bits excited and terrified that this will work out as it’s my first big move ever away from home. I’m only aiming to be there for 6 months to a year, I’m just looking for an adventure and something to help me build my self confidence - and I love the ocean sm !!
I can be a very anxious person in new places, and was just wondering what are some tips and tricks you’ve used for anything from booking flights, shared staff accommodation, dealing with the anxiety of it all and the homesickness I’m doomed to feel for my dogs ): LOL
Anything you have + anything you’d like to share I’d love to hear it !!! Thank you so much !!! (:
Hi! My family and I are visiting over Christmas and my little son loves fishing off docks or piers. We took a walk through town but haven’t visited all the docks yet. Does anyone know if fishing is permitted off docks in town?
Thanks in advance!
I have never been to Tofino and would love to take a trip in 2025 with my partner! I’ve been looking around at a few accommodations and had these that I was curious to hear some personal reviews of: Cox Bay beach resort, Beach Break lodge, Long beach lodge and Crystal Cove beach resort. Have definitely seen a lot on Pacific Sands but was curious to check out others too. Timing wise, was thinking between end of Feb to end of April. Would love a private hot tub and great views ideally, really looking to relax and take in nature, easy hikes.
Thanks everyone!
Spending Christmas in Ucluelet with dog. Any restaurants in Tofino and/or Ucluelet that have dog friendly areas open in the winter? Best take-out spots?
Does anyone from the Tofino/Clayoquot Sound area know about this medium to large-sized beach that has grey sand (or might even be clay idfk) and is on Meares Island (I think) somewhere. It's kinda closed off and surrounded by big cliff walls on either side.
I know this is a terrible explanation lol but I've been trying to find it for years cuz I visited a while ago
Has anyone flown from Calgary to Tofino? Or would you recommend flying into Nanaimo and then driving? This would be off season, so April.
I have a question I’d like to take my sister to Tofino for her birthday (40th) and I’d like to take her to a higher end hotel but maybe not the absolute most expensive because $$$ and cost of living - any suggestions?
Hi there,
I’m coming to Canada on a working holiday at some point in the new year and I was considering trying to work the summer season in Tofino. However, I’m aware of how hard it is to find somewhere to live, especially in summer, so I know the best chance I would have is to arrive early and get a job with staff accommodation.
Is there a particular month when I would have the best chance of this working and/or is it possible to secure a job with staff accommodation before even arriving in town?
Apologies if this kind of question has been asked a lot, but couldn’t find anything specific on the ideal time and right now I’m pretty flexible on when I can arrive in Canada, so I could plan my arrival around this. Thanks!
Hello all! Coming in June for our 3rd time. Tofino has always been special to us and I plan to propose to my long time girlfriend. Looks for ideas or spots! Thx in advance
Here for a week. Curious if there is a local watering hole or place to meet and connect with locals.
I’m thinking of visiting for a few days in April. Mostly to relax in the scenery, would like a hotel that’s clean and modern. No need to be over the top in luxury. But it the property could be in good shape. Looking at spending around $200 / night less if possible ???
Any good recommendations?
I know there's a supposed to be thunder tonight, but there was a roar so long and loud I'm having a hard time convincing my 3am brain that it was just that
anyone know when power will be back? do ya think the 4 highway is safe to drive
Moving to tofino after the winter and I’m wondering if there is a climbing gym? Seems like the only info online is from 2012..
Hi I’ll be driving ip to Tofino in last week of November from the lower mainland. I have a truck with 4x4 and all season M+S tires. Would the drive be sketchy to and from during that time of year. Is it better if should I get triple peak rated tires prior to travelling? I’m a travel nurse so having a set of dedicated winter tires is hard when space is limited.
Thanks!
