This is a place to submit and track "suspicious" reddit accounts.

Introduction:

This is a place to submit and track "suspicious" reddit accounts. An account can be suspicious for many reasons. For example, word-for-word reposts from reddit or other social media sites, a week old account making a "cake day" post, bot-like behavior or irrelevant comments, tons of link karma and no comments, or link karma that cannot be explained by a user's post history.

"Karma-whoring" alone is not a reason to post here. Also, if you notice any accounts that go beyond suspicious and are actively breaking site-wide rules or spamming, please report them using reddit.com/report.

>>> Detailed description <<<

Rules:

hover for details

1. Please leave some detail in your posts, and include all relevant links. If your post is about the subreddit, please include [META] in the title.
2. Be excellent to each other. There are plenty of legitimate reasons to call these accounts out without resorting to name-calling or other less than civil behaviors.
3. No "brigading," mainly because it's pointless. A one day old account with a front page post consisting of a picture of someone else's puppy that they found on google is unlikely to be swayed by a few downvotes, and they'll probably just make another account tomorrow anyway.
4. Do not use the u/ or /u/ format with spam accounts in the comments. This will send a notification to the accounts. This only pertains to comments, and no notifications are sent if there are more than 3 tags in the same comment. Using the reddit.com/user/USERNAME format is okay. Why we have this rule.
5. No witch-hunting. We want to focus on preventing spammers from posting spam, not harassing spammers or anyone appearing to aid them. Witch-hunting will detract from this sub's purpose.
6. Provide proper evidence of accounts being suspicious when requested to do so. This rule is in place to make sure that legitimate users are not labeled as "shills".

spambots in r/openttd

http://old.reddit.com/user/dimos1963/overview https://archive.is/RwlHn

http://old.reddit.com/user/karl00111/overview https://archive.is/jeZ77

http://old.reddit.com/user/Shahz1892/overview https://archive.is/khE8O

All spambots with "What are the best X" posts on, a lot of the time, their own moderated subreddits. Along with this, they've been spamming up /r/openttd with garbage posts that are screenshots of youtube videos, pictures from online or sometimes possibly reposts of old pictures.

You can see Shahz has made a post about air purifiers, claiming a Medify unit was the best - take a look at karl00111 and funnily, they moderate a subreddit about Medify air purifiers!

Necesito ayuda a reportar está cuenta de Facebook

https://www.facebook.com/cristianmedina.mili?mibextid=ZbWKwL

Found a troll farm on Reddit

On a geopolitics meme sub I frequent there's a user with multiple accounts making nonsensical posts, and their memes often come with an agenda. They like to larp as different Asian ethnicities with the goal of inciting hate among those ethnic groups. It's surprisingly easy to spot them, and their activity has been documented before. Exhibit A. Exhibit B.

Below are the accounts they currently go by. If you've been on any Asian country subs or any 2region4you subs, you may have seen them before. Notice how their titles have a similar style.

  • u/ Peaceful-Empress (pretending to be Chinese/Japanese mix)
  • u/ 7-Emperor_Wanderer-8 (pretending to be Taiwanese)
  • u/ 609-OME-191 (this time pretending to be Eastern European/West African mix)

They have apparently been doing this for about 3 years already, so I am making this post to raise awareness beyond the Asian and geopolitics subs.

r/SelfieOver20 was created by OnlyFans agency and every post is vote manipulated

https://www.reddit.com/r/SelfieOver20/

This subreddit is constantly appearing in news feeds. The moderators are all double agents that work on behalf of the OnlyFans models they are promoting via their agency that takes 60% of the models earnings on behalf of spamming reddit with the models images.

They have added various automod rules to the subreddit in an effort to stop their activity being called out be regular users.

EVERY. SINGLE. POST gets thousands of upvotes.... Totally not suspiscious...

All of the moderators are in on the scam.

Bot account that auto calls people pedos then deletes their comment when called out

Reddit doesn't see a problem but ew. Their profile is deleted comments of them saying " you're a pedo" or variations of then deleting when called out. Mostly to trans people or people having mental health related or interpersonal issues. Scummy.

Is this a bot ring?

I’ve noticed some really suspicious activity from some users in the tv show subreddits.

https://www.reddit.com/user/pearl-star

https://www.reddit.com/user/-silver-butterfly-

https://www.reddit.com/user/artichoke_flower

https://www.reddit.com/user/oregon_cabin

https://www.reddit.com/user/spicy_monkeys

https://www.reddit.com/user/peanut_harambe_cecil

https://www.reddit.com/user/westernbell1972

https://www.reddit.com/user/Theshogunnate

https://www.reddit.com/user/otto_rum

https://www.reddit.com/user/belmont_ridge

There are tons of them. What I’ve noticed is that they take an already existing subreddit name, and they add “TVSeries” etc. to the name and grow the communities really quickly. I bet by adding bots as members. They have no comment history or very short ones, are set up around the same time, and have generic usernames. There’s also no interaction between them and other users.

I’ve reported some of these accounts, but it looks like there are so many more. I haven’t had any response from Reddit for 10 days now. Maybe it’s worth looking into it, and more reports will help? Not sure, but this looks really suspicious.

Spam ring subreddit advertising dating sites

The issue of spam on Reddit has reached an absurd level, and r/OnlineDatingReviews serves as a glaring example of how unchecked spam can transform an entire subreddit into a haven for promotional garbage. Instead of fostering genuine discussions or providing helpful content for users, this subreddit appears to be explicitly designed for spam, with post after post blatantly pushing questionable services.

For example

Epidemic of Unchecked Essay Writing Spammers

Reddit, a platform many of us rely on for genuine discussions and advice, is increasingly becoming a haven for blatant spam accounts and scams. It's incredibly frustrating to see how these spammers don't even bother to hide their tracks. They post the same recycled content across multiple subreddits, often with poorly disguised intentions, and Reddit seems to do very little to address the issue.

For example, here’s a list of spam-ridden posts promoting "essay writing services," a notorious sector for unethical advertising:

https://www.reddit.com/r/collegehub/comments/wfcbn9/best_essay_writing_service_reddit_20222024/ https://www.reddit.com/r/FriendsFromCollege/comments/1g4xjat/best_essay_writing_service_reddit_20242025/ https://www.reddit.com/r/BackToSchoolTips/comments/1ax5a22/best_essay_writing_service_reddit_2024/ https://www.reddit.com/r/coffeeandsmartnotes/comments/1gt6hjd/best_essay_writing_service_reddit_20242025/ https://www.reddit.com/r/ScholarCircuit/comments/1fuaqdl/best_essay_writing_service_reddit/ https://www.reddit.com/r/medschoolmemes/comments/1bl07u1/the_best_essay_writing_service_on_reddit_20242025/ https://www.reddit.com/r/Essaywritingarena/comments/1fey8wl/best_essay_writing_service_reddit_20242025/ https://www.reddit.com/r/coffeeandsmartnotes/comments/ydvsw6/what_is_the_cheapest_essaywriting_service_online/

These spammers have infiltrated various subreddits. The posts follow a predictable pattern, generic, clickbaity titles combined with dubious links and botted upvotes. It’s an outright insult to Reddit’s authentic communities

Some Spam Comments With Over 6,000 Upvotes, How Are These Still Not Deleted?

I noticed some spam on Reddit, and it’s quite amusing when you analyze the engagement

the number of upvotes on comments and the amount of comments are blatantly fake, it really is hard to imagine anyone believing this activity isn’t generated by bots

A few comments on this one have upwards of 6000 upvotes

https://www.reddit.com/r/m3u8/comments/1gg5eow/tested_the_best_iptv_providers_in_usa_canada_and/

it seems like the subreddit /r/m3u8 was made solely for this type of spam, there's so many more posts like this... looking up "Best IPTV Service" or similar terms on google reveals so much spam reddit posts and nobody is moderating it

These accounts are spamming subreddits to promote a Discord server

Hey everyone,

I wanted to bring attention to a group of accounts that have been spamming multiple subreddits with fake "guides" to unblur Chegg answers. Their posts are just an excuse to promote a Discord server, probably to scam people or farm users.

The content looks like it’s trying to be helpful, but it’s all the same copy-pasted stuff about Discord bots or free Chegg unlocks. It’s obvious they’re doing this for SEO and to trick people into joining their server.

Here’s a list of the accounts involved:

https://www.reddit.com/user/gamepadlad/

https://www.reddit.com/user/Raplover22/

https://www.reddit.com/user/redditor53745/

https://www.reddit.com/user/thin-translator-/

https://www.reddit.com/user/r6proleaguefan22/

https://www.reddit.com/user/SimilarActivity3418/

If you see posts from these accounts or anything similar, report them as spam. Mods, please keep an eye out for these kinds of posts—they’re all over the place lately and make it harder for real discussions to happen.

[Meta] Has anyone else noticed a huge increase in ChatGPT bots that seem more sophisticated than before?

I'm honestly afraid to share the telltale signs I've noticed in their speech patterns because that'll just give them more information to train on (they train on all our data). But ignoring things like their writing style, which comes off as more human than ever but still isn't quite there, these accounts:

  • are usually very new and have made a single post
  • comment in random subreddits that seem to have no correlation with each other (they usually say encouraging things)
  • comment on what others have said, but generally don't share anything about themselves (for obvious reasons - though my guess is that in the near future, or even right now, they'll be able to draw from fabricated background stories)

What worries me is how easy it is to overlook them. Their comments will often have a good amount of upvotes and (probably) real people replying, though they never respond back. It's obvious that other people have no idea they're interacting with a bot.

Anyone else noticed this?
