This is the thermostats we have for our hydronic baseboard heating. Is this possible to go to a smart system such as the google nest? Or anything that could just update this to not appear like it’s so outdated?
This might be a pretty niche question but I have Kasco C-10 thermostat that turns on a de-icer in my pond to provide water circulation during the winter months. I recently had to replace mine and the new one is somehow inverted. Meaning, instead of providing power when the temperature drops below a set temperature, it provides power when the temperature is above the set temperature.
Does anyone have any knowledge about this? Is there a switch that I am missing? The user manual was not helpful.
Thanks
Hey guys, why this is not heating up the room, if anyone knows what’s the right setting to set it to 76-78 please hmu.
I have three T9 thermostats installed on a zoned heating and cooling system. When I launch the Resideo app on my iPhone, it fails to display the current temperature and settings. Instead, it seems to be showing the temperatures and settings from the last time I opened the app.
After waiting for 20 to 30 seconds, the app switches to displaying the correct current data.
Is this the expected behavior? If so, it’s quite frustrating that there’s no visual cue to indicate that the data is outdated. Is there something I can do to speed it up?
How do I program settings?
I have three of the same Sensi Smart Thermostats but the new one I got does not allow me to set a schedule. Here is the screenshot I get. Any ideas?
I want to install thermostats in each room. I do not have thermostats in my house. Is it a simple job? What’s involved in the installation process?
Not very handy and knowledgeable; please be gentle. We have a two story house, and a builder-installed HVAC system with Honeywell Lyric Round Thermostats, one on each floor. We have a single AC outside and the individual control seems to be using automatic dampers of some kind to direct the flow. House was built six years back and we are the second owner. For three years, there was no issue with the HVAC. Recently, downstairs one lost WiFi connectivity, and in a month stopped workihg manually as well. It just keeps in a perpetual boot-up loop and never gets past the continuously rotating Lyric circle. Tried resetting it, taking out battery, repalcing it with a new Lithium AAA battery, but the problem is still there. The upstairs one is still working fine. Want to replace it with a new one, but have some questions.
If I need to replace, should I replace both thermostats? I think yes, but just checking as it is 2X the cost, obviously.
Due to single AC, dual zone configuration, do I need to buy a specific kind of thermostat? What should I watch out for?
If it is just a simple replacement keeping track of current wiring connection and getting a new one, I may be able to do it myself. Ecobee or Nest seem to be two recommendations for smart thermostats in general, but no experience with either of them.
Thank you in advance.
just moved into a new apartment, with this mystery thermostat. any idea what the buttons mean, and how to turn on the heat?
thanks in advance from a very cold UK
Sorry about this long post but I am trying to find a thermostat that has programming that allows you to set timeframes when the aux heat (heat strips) will run. My power company has recently gone to a peak demand power rate. During winter months the peak rate timeframe is 6a-9a. The peak power cost is $12 Kw while off peak is $0.06. I have 2 story house with 2 HVAC units. During the cold mornings I am trying to preheat the house to 70-71 and with a heat pump that is impossible. So I have started using the heat strips along with the heat pump which brings the preheat temp up to 71 before 6am. Then I program the heat pump for 68 degrees for 30 minutes each hour between 6a-9a to control my power costs. I currently have an ecobee and I have to wake up at 5:50 and manually go to the thermostat and make changes to shut the heat strips off. Does anyone know of a thermostat that allows you to program time frames to allow aux heat ti turn on and off? Or any help at all with this situation?
It is showing an indoor temperature of 80*. That is impossible 71 un the house. It is about 10 years old, but would rather not buy another thermostat.
hello community,
I've spent last few days trying to figure out how to remediate my short circuit without luck, and i'm reaching out here in hopes of any clues for next step(s).
I have a radiant heating system, divided into 3 separate zones, and each are connected to their own thermostat and something called an actuator (the thing that controls the heat flow). They're connected to some sort of low voltage power source that's not connected to my circuit breaker. As I was installing a new thermostat one of the wires (Rh) crossed with another (W1) and I saw a spark (hence short circuit) and thermostats for all three zones have lost power. I tried turning off all switches inside circuit breaker and turning them back again, and that did not help with the issue, and I cannot for the life of me figure out if there's any parts in this system with a fuse on.
Has anyone seen a situation like this? I'm trying to figure out of all my 3 actuators have gone short circuit at the same time, all 3 thermostats have gone out instead, both, or if there's another piece in this system I've overlooked. Any tips or suggestions are welcome!
I want to upgrade to a wifi thermostat but My old Nest says it can’t work with system and when I go to Honeywell site same, says I need a professional to help with installation. Which system will work with mine?
Hi! I’m struggling to find the make and model of this UK-based bathroom thermostat please. Can anyone help?
the model is Termozeta TZAZC2
I damaged the PCB for my unit's carrier thermostat while checking for wiring compatibility with other brands. The thermostat screen now shows every single element on, and makes a pulsating noise at about 2/s (not a beep, more like pulse) when power is connected to it. I disconnected power, and inspected the board, and saw one coil near the input cable is partially detached. The copper wire seems intact but the core of the coil broke off from its base that attaches to the PCB
I considered buying another but wasn't that straightforward... the manufacturer sites only sell to technicians or shops. It's not even that cheap.
I'm wondering if simple glue may be ok to try and fix, or what kind of glue would be needed, and what I would need to be careful about, and what the risks are of doing this (eg to the heat pump unit)
see the detached coil in the center?
location of the coil wrt the input etc. (of the two near the switch, the one closer to the top)
I received an email from Carrier today December 8th.
Most brain-dead convoluted thermostat that doesn’t actually let you change the temperature unless you read its equally convoluted instructions manual. My family has been getting sick all winter because of this bullshit thing that doesn’t allow us to adjust its settings. Hate it, please never get it for your own safety.
