I have a digital thermostat (Honeywell RLV3120) controlling my daughter's bedroom heat and it keeps shutting itself off, and will only come back on after I reset the breaker.
I'm just wondering if this is a known issue, or whether there is something further that I can check. I checked that both wires were tightly connected and wrapped, no obstructions around the heater, etc.
This is causing me grief because my baby daughters room is getting unexpectedly cold in the middle of the night.
Looking for any thoughts or feedback.
I tried switching out my old White Rodger’s heat pump thermostat to a digital Honeywell. The cool turned on when I first tested the Honeywell but when I when to test the heat nothing happened. I couldn’t figure it out so I required back to the original White Rodger thermostat and now nothing works. Was perviously working fine. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Photos of old and new unit in comments.
So we got a new amazon thermostat and everything has worked well... until... we turned on the heat, once it reaches the desired temp. it does not shut itself off and continues to run. You have to manually turn it off from either the Alexa app or the unit itself. Any Ideas? Wiring pictures added.
Hi there, does anyone please know the make and model of this thermostat. Thanks!
Looking for a thermostat that can swing between hot and cold that works with my wiring. I live on the top floor of an apartment that gets hot during the day and cold at night and am sicking of constantly having to change it manually. Don't really use programming so not worried about that just want one that works well.
I’m considering a smart thermostat, including smart heating valves for each radiator (7). But I can’t decide which brand yet. I am considering between Tado X and Honeywell Evohome. No floor heating and ground floor in Europe. (Intergas HRE 28/24 boiler)
Pros and cons Tado X
+ sale, 492 euro (+- 520 dollar), thermostat, bridge + 7 valves
+ good-looking system/app
- possibly subscription for extra options, I want to spare, not pay.
- dependent on the internet
Pros and cons Honeywell EvoHome
+ reliability (from what I heard/read)
+ fully independent
+ got a Honeywell Lyric T6 already, as it seems it is compatible.
- older system, less looking nice/functional?
- cost, 768 euro (+-810 dollar), panel, bridge + valves
My plumber said he is a fan of the Honeywell EvoHome system, but he understands the doubt between the two nowadays.
Which one?
I want to upgrade to a smart thermostat but I ran into a roadblock. I tried to remove the faceplate but no luck. I don't want to push or pull too hard because I don't want to damage it. Has anyone removed something like this before? if so, how do i remove it?
Just moved in to a new rental and this thermostat is on the wall downstairs. There is a digital one upstairs which seems to work, but none of the radiators turn on downstairs and when I moved in the thermostat in the picture read 82°. It clicks if you turn it all the way to 80° but I haven't left it on there to see if the radiators come to life. Seems like there must be something else wrong here, so I was curious if any of you had any ideas.
I want to speak with my landlord as little as possible, so please don't suggest I tell him about it. I already took the unit apart hoping to find something obviously wrong with it. It seems like there are meant to be 3 wires from the wall, but only 2 are connected. I don't think the thermometer on the bottom is involved at all in the function of the thermostat but I can assure you it's not 71° in this room at the time of posting. I measured it at 61° a little while ago, and the thermostat never clicks on. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Hello,
I bought an ecobee premium thermostat, when I unplugged the old one I only saw two wires and it said TH- TH- on both white and black wires. How should I proceed? The old thermostat has 2 heat (Heat/Eheat) and 1 Cool. Also has a Fan button on the old thermostat, do I need to pull more wires from the basement?
Thanks!
We are in an airbnb and host is not responding as its late now! This is the thermostat and no matter where it is, heat is not turning ON. Its been like this over an hr and still the room (10x10ft) is cold AF! Help..
I have a freestanding heater that is currently wired via a 24V A/C two-wire connection to a manual dial thermostat.
I'm trying to find a simple programmable unit that can replace it, but I'm struggling to find heat-only units that aren't made for things like heated floors. Those seem to have a cycle timer built into them which I don't think will work with my stuff.
Any suggestions?
(I know there are 24V units that do both heating and cooling, but I'm trying to avoid having excess/unused controls)
I have a new Trane XR16 with a Honeywell t10 stat, the. Default on the T10 is all compressor and aux heat lockouts are off. I have electric aux heat. Should I leave it at default ot is there ideal lockout temps to set lockout at. (I do have an outdoor sensor for the T10)
Hello, like I said heating is working but the room is cold and I can't talk to anyone about it until tomorrow. How do I unlock this thermostat:
https://hit.sbt.siemens.com/RWD/app.aspx?RC=HQEU&lang=en&MODULE=Catalog&ACTION=ShowProduct&KEY=S55770-T416
I already tried unlocking it but nothing works.
I noticed my Sensi turns on and off only when the heat is running. I am not sure what’s causing this and doesn’t do this when I run the A/C. Any idea what might be causing this?
Hi all. My flat has electric heaters in every room, and they are controlled by the Dryton RTS1 (to be precise, the thermostat controls a contactor) with the wiring in the pic:
It controls the heaters only, the hot-water boiler is controlled by something else (and I'm happy to keep it as it is).
I would like to replace it with a smart thermostat, is it doable? The wiring of the Nest is quite different. Otherwise, I'll just install one I can program so I don't have to get up to switch it on in the morning :)
