You just lost your great-grandpa. He wasn’t just your great grandpa though. He raised you and your mom. He was the closest thing to a dad you ever had. You knew it was coming soon but still feel ripped apart.
As mentioned in the title, I make a living off of lyric commissions. If anyone is interested in purchasing one don’t be afraid to pm me. I write them custom tailored to your style and preferences of hip-hop/rap.

I had an idea to remake the Grubhub ad music, making it slower, more classical sounding, and giving vibes of something majestic descending from the skies or a huge monster being summoned. To make the vibes I'm looking for clearer, give a listen to God's Anger here, which is part of the anime Yugioh's original Japanese OST: https://youtu.be/qagu_dJJRoE
Sadly, I couldn't make music. So I'm leaving this here in case someone thinks it's cool and wants to make it. Maybe I'll give inspiration to someone seeking for it:)
We're doing a secret Santa at work this year, and most people use throwaway coffee cups every single day. So my secret gift to one lucky bastard will be a reusable coffee cup, and I want to add something written in the gift that could motivate him/her to actually use it. Thanks in advance !
You know, just your average mumble rap... if the sub is still active, at all lol
what's crackin?
I am considering dropping out of school because my health conditions (which I had to do several times). I'm also jaded from all the papers we had to write. It kills my right brain sensibilities.
I want /ThePeoplesBard to sing a song about the glorious subreddit that supplies us with our ammunition.
So the short film I am working on will be a Charlie Chaplin-esque romantic comedy. It will have an old timey, Coney Island feel to it. I'm looking for music reminiscent of The Mills Brothers. I'm looking for both fast paced and slow pieces.
This is a student film, so I don't have the budget to pay for music rights. However, I plan to obviously give full credit to whoever allows me to use their music. We will also write up an agreement stating I can only use it in this one film.
I will also be submitting this film to multiple, more accomplished festivals, besides the one my school hosts. This could be a really great way for an aspiring musician/band to get their sound out there.
I think this could be a great collaboration and help both of us get ahead. If interested feel free to PM me :)
More of a feel about the short: there will be clowns, Coney Island, a comical jealousy scene, a slow dance scene on the beach, a comical clown gag scene (pie in face, flower squirt), montages of a couple riding amusement park rides, et cetera.
EDIT: Here's the Soundcloud link, as suggested.
More info: My Boyfriend's dad was a creative guy. He wrote books, wrote songs, created board games... You name it, he did it. Unfortunately he never had the money or time to get any of his projects professionally finished. One of his favourite past-times was playing the guitar. He wrote a bunch of Country and Western and Folk songs, and even recorded some of them in a make-shift studio.
My BFs dad would be the first to admit that they're not the greatest quality. Unfortunately he passed away suddenly on Wednesday. For ages my BF has talked about getting one of his dad's tracks professionally recorded. Unfortunately his dad will never hear it, but we could play it at the memorial, and it would be something for my BF to hang on to.
Would anyone be prepared to help? I can link to the amateur recording on Soundhound, and I've transcribed the lyrics. If anyone would prepared to take on the task, I'd be happy to send you the lyrics as well.
Sittin’ on the side of the road, Laughin’ at how life has a code. Just had to go to the store. That’s all, just go to the store.
But now, it’s dark and it’s late. How did this become my fate? The day had started out fine, but now it’s no longer mine.
(vCHORUSv) The dust swarmed around my truck. Skiddin’ fifty, out of luck. Got a flat, tire’s blown. I just wanna make it home. Want my girl by my side. Oh, I gotta find a ride. Can’t be late, got a date. I will run until I make it right.
(vBRIDGEv) Darlin’, I’ll be there soon. I promise, be there soon. I swear, be there soon. I see the lights of a car. I know it can’t be far.
My lovely SO is directing a show for credits toward her BA in theater. This is the blurb from the FB event:
Kenneth Lonergan's 1980s grunge play follows 14 hours in the life of Warren and the world of the Upper East Side teenage leftovers. In the apartment of his friend and pot dealer Dennis, Warren finds himself hiding from the consequences of his home life and the desire for friendship. In the hours ahead the boys find themselves in faced with death, debits, debauchery and a cute girl named Jessica.
This is the email she sent:
"I am looking pictures of people in their youth. Ages like 13-22. Pictures that the sender feels is a good example of their life before the responsibilities of adulthood arrived. I need as many as possible send as picture to this email."
She plans to display these pictures as part of the performance. If you'd like to help, please send as many pictures as possible to tioypictures@gmail.com
Please recommend or x-post to other subreddits you think would help. Thanks everyone!
My name is Jamie. My fiancé Courtney and I met in Medical Assistant school about 5 years ago. We were both single parents. She had a little girl named Giada . I had two boys named Kayden & Liam. We started dating , eventually over time we introduced the children to each other. They fell in love and are like brother and sister. So years go by and with her parents permission , I asked her to marry me. She said yes. She is a huge fan of music. She loves watching music videos or dancing with the kids. We love to listen to acoustic anything guitar or piano etc together. Life has been amazing up until a few weeks ago. We have have had alot of stress in our lives lately and we are starting to take it out on each other. I would love to have you make a song for us as to how lucky we all are that we have each other and how much she means to me. If i had a musical bone in my body I'd give it a try myself, unfortunately I dont. I feel like I hit the lottery with her. She is an amazing mother, kind, caring and a beautiful person. I now have 3 amazing children. Please help me show her how much she means to me. Thanks in advance. Anything is appreciated. Sorry for any typos I am on mobile.
Hey guys, I've got this old MIDI file that I transcribed from ear way back in the 90s and used it with a crappy FM synth MIDI module to back up my sax solo. It's Tequila by the Champs.
Could somebody with more MIDI talent and better software than me please update it with some better voices and get me a nice MP3 render I can use in Audacity to do some recording with my sax? Feel free to update it, improve it, etc.
(Note: I posted this a little earlier and deleted it because I needed to make some revisions to the tied notes that crossed measures... my ca. 1995 MIDI software couldn't do that. MuseScore apparently can.)

Probably a poor example of this but I decided to watch an episode of Batman: The Animated Series to see if it would hold up recently. I found that it acted like a time machine and transported me back twenty years to my childhood. It held up mostly because I was an excited boy again.
I'd like to see some songs and poems or anything else about that intense feeling of nostalgia, be it triggered by a cartoon, a place, a smell or a person. You can be as vague as you want with it but it should capture that bitter sweet feeling of a warm memory that comforts you, but also in the past and forever out of reach.

Hey everyone. I had a little idea I wanted to try out on this thread. I intend to challenge myself to composing drum parts to different types of music/audio. If you guys want me to play drums to anything.... and I mean ANYTHING, I would love to try.
Shoot me some ideas!
Hey everyone,
The challenge for May is much darker than the challenges have been in the past. This month we are talking about modern day slavery. If you want to help, you can visit www.theexodusroad.com .
The same rules apply as previous challenges and you can use any artistic medium that suits you best. You can pm me directly or comment a link to submit your challenge. I will add all submissions to the bottom of this post. Deadline is at the end of the month.
Hopefully we can help raise awareness to this extremely important issue. Thank you all!

I'd do it myself if I had the skill. And if you do make a song for it, could you tell me the chords as well? I'd like to be able to sing it afterwards as well, and I don't know how to recognize chords. It can be folk, a rock ballad, heck, whatever you want, and if you happen to like the verses you can do whatever you want with them:
It isn't because I can't sleep at night
That I think of you
And if when I sleep
I dream of you
It isn't with delight
It isn't because I miss you
That I kept all your pictures
I could have burned them
Like I did with the rest
Of my once loved creatures
It isn't because I love you
Or care
Or want you back.
These are the lies I'm telling myself
Just to keep on track
Recently I saw "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" and was struck by the brilliance of the soundtrack. One song in particular stuck out to me, "Stay Alive" by José Gonzalez. I have been looking everywhere for a violin cover, but have come up short.
I have, however, found the sheet music for a violin rendition of the song, and I've come to Reddit hoping one of you talented people would be willing to record it for me.
Here's the link, and thank you so much in advance for you time.
I kinda have strong feelings about recent news regarding Steam and Mods, so I vented a little.
I would never dare to try, well, maybe on a dare. But God Shuffles His Feet has a distinct sound, and I could never live up to it. If you want to do it, don't be trapped in what I have wrote, you can do better if you have something you think is better. No worries.
After eleven years Gabe was quite rich thus said:
"Let there be a way just for dumb pricks, to make some bread!"
He gathered up some people wanting paid,
Built a way to get money from what they'd made.
The gamers watched with fear, but what with Gabe there, they asked him queries,
Like: "do you guarantee, or make up for all our worries?
If a mod went and ruined your save game,
Would Valve reimburse you for that shit being lame?"
Gabe shuffled his feet and glanced around at them;
The gamers cleared their throats and glared right back at him.
So he said: "Once I had a toy,
That I sold at a fair,
It went to a young boy,
Made Mattel no money which was not fair,
I though of how only I got money;
I just sat there. Cause then I was feeling crummy."
Gabe shuffled his feet and glanced around at them;
The gamers cleared their throats and glared right back at him.
Gamers sat waiting at their desks as moods began to darken,
But Gabe said nothing so someone asked him: "I beg your pardon:
I'm not quite clear about what you just spoke,
Was that some doublespeak, or a very rotten joke?"
Gabe shuffled his feet and glanced around at them;
The gamers cleared their throats and stared right back at him.
