Like he tells the story but Sil thinks Vito was receiving but then Finn says that Vito was giving and Paulie is all surprised and says "What?!". Aren’t both things equally outrageous for them?
He’s so fucking cringe I can’t even look at his face. That guy said the Tony was lucky not to get molesteded by him. Omg.
For those that watched this documentary- where the part in the Doc said that James Gandofini got a big pay rise for 1M per episode so he gave his castmates 30k when called them in one by one to his trailer and Eadie Falco says “ Did he? I never got it”. Why do you think this would been the case?
On my 4th watch through and just realized something. Wtf is Benny doing at Chrissy’s intervention? He ranks underneath Chris and I’m pretty confused on what he’s doing there. He even gets in on the action when Pauly starts beating him up! I get the guys a criminal mastermind… but I feel like he should’ve sat this one out.
So I am a xillenial who like many others LOVED the sopranos. I have rewashed the seasons several times, owned seasons on DVD, and can win almost any trivia game related to the show.
I always said that the Sopranos was the best show on TV as far as character development and production value. It was always a strongly held belief that each episode was like a mini movie.
However something has happened in the past year...I have tried to reward the show alone and also attempted to introduce my partner to the show. When it comes to the latter, she enjoys mob movies but when I seek for an episode of the sopranos to show her...I just feel a loss. Honestly I have started a few episodes with her and I was shocked at how boring they felt in retrospect and how much I had to explain about the characters to make it worth the watch. In the end I ended up just showing her key scenes that have always been in my mind, but have failed to really enjoy the show anymore alone or with her.
Why do I suddenly feel this way like I can't focus on this show when I have always adored it?
Anyone else felt anything similar?
Starting with the murder of Christopher, taking peyote, AJ's suicide attempt and getting the boot from Melfi, the show ends with Tony finally making peace with all the doom and gloom in his life. He gets "it" in Las Vegas and tries to articulate it several times (in Satriale's and to Melfi). After AJ's suicide attempt, Melfi lets him go and war with NY, he finally realises that every day is, in fact, a gift. His friends are dead, in coma, the war is over and his playing with house money attitude towards life ends. He is not chasing "it", anymore.
In the final scene, he internalises AJ's point about remembering the good times anecdote and believing it himself this time, rather than parroting it as a wise thought, like he did throughout the series (the pity quote, captain teebs, etc.). He sees Meadow, and just like the Proust's madeleine (or his gabagool), everything gets together: his family is a whole, survived a series of very horrible events, and he finally forgives his mom, AJ, and most importantly himself, let's all the bullshit and agita go, and accepts his fate (which is seemingly a massive court case coming his way).
It's not that he is not a horrible person anymore, but he makes peace with who he is and what he has been through. And the marvellous part is that this happens only after Melfi lets him go. Just like the bus analogy, he was trying to settle things with Melfi, but his psychotherapy only works when he is not able to use it as a crutch or a sharpening tool for his scheming.
So, whether Tony dies or not becomes irrelevant, but at that moment, cut to black, he experiences a level of peace, love, and forgiveness (towards himself, his family, and even his mom).
I've said my piece.
Sons of Ecstasy: A British financier and New York mafia son battle over the 1990's ecstasy drug trade. Staring Shaun Attwood & Gerard Gravano.
There is a picture of Salvatore "Sammy the Bull" Gravano. But you might miss it. I didn't recognize him. I watched this last night. I couldn't stop thinking about Anthony Soprano & AJ. Pretty, pretty good doc out right now. Thought? Anyway, $20 a pill.
Think about it. Considering the tubs of lards, besides Ginny, who else had a 95 pound mole surgically taken off their ass?
I fucking HATE that woman. I will never understand her hatred for tony or her children generally even in their young years i understand not everyone is parent material but holy shit. Don't even get me started on the way she skews and sways shit with Junior oh my god I know it's just a tv show but it really makes my fucking blood boil. I don't really like Melfi either can't put my finger on it yet. And I'm only on s1e9 so don't spoil just hearing her voice while I'm writing this is really pissing me off
Everyone says that Vito loved the life and was Tony's best earning captain so if he got scared and decided to tell the FBI what he knew in exchange for a deal he could possibly put everyone away, beats getting beaten to death by Phil.
Shit, I would have really loved to know more about this deleted scene.
Carlo decided to rat on Tony to save himself, would his testimony have been enough to send Tony to prison? He could always throw a swerve and falsely claim that Tony ordered Vito to be killed causing him to replace Vito.
Of all the fucked up and twisted shit that happened on this show, It's something about the Feds picking on Adriana that always rubbed me super wrong! I really hate to see a character or anyone IRL go from Joyful 24/7 to completely miserable and defeated. I get why she was such an easy target to the FBI, but they went about It so greasy It almost made me discontinue the show, which probably would've been for the best, considering where she ended up anyway.
That entire Arc was one of the most unsettling plots for me, because It perfectly showcased just how cold hearted and terrifying the Feds are. They seem to be more soulless than Gangsters at times. Danielle Is extremely Insufferable! Christopher's biggest accomplishment on the show was being an absolute POS to her every chance he had.
Trickery and Deceiving one's mind as a way of being tricked Into displaying evidence should be Illegal, even for spies and feds. How Is that even admissable? The person that gathered this Information Is a character that doesn't really exist! I wonder If anyone ever played that hand In court.

Putting all my Sopranos Videos in one place! Still adding more all the time!
Phil stepping out the closet is hilarious 😂😂😂 how long was he in the dark waiting for Vito to get back to the motel? He did 20 years in the can 😂
Jerry Colombo was opening up strip clubs in NC with the money he scammed from McDonalds' Monopoly game. Colombo was famous back in those days. He personally won a Dodge Viper from McDonalds Monopoly game. Anyone remembers him? NC district attorney was shutting his strip clubs down. And Jerry changed his strip club into a church in order to jump the loophole. Read the bible, say a couple of prayers while you drink beer and watch beautiful women dance. What a church. Well, too bad Jerry died so young. He is so much like Tony Soprano.
So last year was my first time watching the show and it absolutely amazed me. I’m not much of a TV watcher at all but when I finished the series, the very next day I started the show again. I don’t ever watch tv shows and will hardly rewatch a movie.
I’m on season 6 episode 20, right now, and I’m thinking about what I am going to watch when the show ends. Nothing I have seen has compared to this though.
Is there any suggestions on other shows that are this high quality? Or do I just watch the show for a third time.
On my 3rd rewatch, got to the part where Ralphie kills Tracee. He's such a piece of shit...
It’s interesting how many times the Godfather movies are referenced throughout the series. Even Christopher tried his hardest to make a point with Big Puss, but didn’t quite get there. It seems they have quite an admiration for Coppola’s works.
Just wondering if real-life mafiosos regard the Sopranos in the same way.
Tony "You look betta, too."
Unc. Junior "If you're gonna lie to me tell me there's a broad in the car waiting to tongue my balls."
It said “The Sopranos” and had a season and episode number, but I couldn’t read it quick enough.
Printing last edition
With that fucking cowboy Christopher Moltisanti stealing 20 copies, their profit margin has shrunk to zero
The contrast between Tony's relationship with Tracee and Meadow's relationship with her roomate.
This is the episode that shows us the type of scumbag Ralph really is.
The scene where Ralph bullies Georgie not only is morbidly hilarious but also has great acting from everyone; the way the characters react to Ralph's antics (Furio looks uncomfortable at the way Ralph treats Tracee, Tracee first laughing at Ralph teasing George and later being horrified at Ralph hurting George's eye).
The scene with the homeless woman with a sheet of newspaper in her ass will never not make me laugh.
Ralph is trully terrifying when he walks up to Tracee to beat her up with that murderous rage in his eyes.
The therapy session at the end is probably one of the best pieces of acting by Gandolfini. He looks and sounds genuinely sad about what happened to Tracee and he even looks like he's about to start crying at any moment.
Man, every time I re watch this episode, the sadder I feel about Tracee. She had her own issues with her kid but she was trying to become a better mother and was such a sweet girl.
Great way to launder money. Would love to hear the meme coins they would have came up with
The writing and the character development is so fucking good!
The closing song of S2E13 Funhouse is Thru and Thru by the stones. It shows a lot of misery the caused…I recognize all the pain (Barone Sanitation, the Jews who owned the hotel, the calling card scam, etx) they caused, but can’t get the porn shop..did tony invest in a peep show?
I didn't know if I should post this in the askscience subreddit or here.
As we all know when you put ice into different spirits it dilutes them at different rates, scotch at an especially high one, but what are the actual mechanics behind it? Thanks.
Tony is so clearly saying something else but the camera’s far away enough that the editors must’ve thought they could get away with it😂who knows what scene/line I’m referring to?
By the time Pussy and Jimmy got busted with the guns, Puss had long been a rat. Running was pointless and embarrassing, for numerous reasons.
SHE WAS ABUSIVE TO THE STAAAAAAFFF!
(No checkoslovakians or Chinese godfathers here - just stuff that was delivered 100% straight that makes you laugh every time anyway)
