Very, very rarely see this guy's name posted here. And he is a MASSIVE piece of shit. Arguably one of the biggest pieces of shit in the entire show.
-is a drug dealer (seasons 2 - 5)
-leaves his robbery crew at the first sign of trouble (season 2) - this DIRECTLY leads to the death of Dino and Jackie Jr
-murdered a guy in Adrianas club (season 5)
-Very likely is a terrorist and funneling money back to his terrorist family (mentioned season 5, but probably forever?)
I mean whattawe gotta do, T? Actually SEE him take it up the ass? He's a schmuck
In the scene where Phil has returned to party with his NY colleagues after his heart attack he remarks that he “broke his goddamn _____ on that goddamn recumbent bike”
I can’t make the word out and even the subtitles won’t make heads or tails of it.
It sounds like “Gatzufar” but there doesn’t seem to be a word in Italian like that
So on another rewatch. What are some of the smaller things that happen are funny. Doing a re-watch, again. On Pine Barron's and when Chrissy and Paulie go to the Russians apartment and they brawl and Paulie is giving him the business with the lamp post and Chrissy just lands on the Russians legs literally doing nothing lol. Could have least went for an ankle lock or something. Was laughing hard how Paulie asking for help and he just lays on his legs doing nothing haha
I’m rewatching the series and creeping up on the final episode. This time around, I’ve been noticing a strange number of “Buffalo” references in the final episodes. The Buffalo Bills are mentioned in a few different gambling scenarios, and then this view of Carmela’s laptop with a very prominent advertisement: “Don’t Get Buffaloed”: https://images.app.goo.gl/GoitL8tpQE2JqwGJ6
Feels hard to believe this is a coincidence, but I’m not sure what it’s supposed to mean. Has this been discussed?
In the scene where he goes to have the meeting at John’s house and the cops show up and Tony runs - is it possible NY thought he set up Johnny?
They were going to war and Tony would’ve lost. To a mafia guy - wouldn’t it be reasonable to look at this as a very odd coincidence and the thought that maybe Tony had something to do with it?
Anyway, four dollars a pound.
Doing my second rewatch ever and I completely forgot AJ (like the title) pimped out his car with Puerto Rican flags to go to the parade and Blanca dumps him 😭😭 poor AJ really
and all I have gathered so far is that Tony never had the makings of a varsity athlete
That cocksuckin' piece of - I can't even say his name - murdered my favorite TV franchise. And what did I do about it? Nothin. He should fucking DIE!
In the episode where Tony meets Fran, his father‘s old mistress, he learns that his father gave his dog away to Fran.
Later on, he’s fucking Valentina, and he looks up and he sees a picture of a dog in a trenchcoat. He stares at it deeply and orgasms as he’s staring at the picture of the dog.
Is he orgasmiming while thinking of his dog? Or is the picture of the dog reminding him of his father‘s mistress, who he primarily knows as an old woman?
cocking a loaded revolver against his cheek. This time around I laughed when it cut to him. I find myself laughing at more of the depictions of cruelty in The Sopranos, increasing with each watch through. Is this a sign of sociopathy?
Vito shooting Jackie Jr makes me laugh out loud now, even just thinking about it. Watching Ralph lie to Tracee before he kills her, good for a chuckle. "We'll get a little house."
I think I might be some sort of toxisch pershon
How much would that cost them? They musta hoped he'd lose big bucks.
Anything more cringey that Carmella calling Furio, "Fure"? Their little near fling, creeps me out..
Oh and most scenes featuring Awwtha
I know this question is probably asked 1000 times but I just made my list and I'm curious about you guys lists
Some school from Indiana and our thing, you believe it? I played a season and a half as a kid, so I understand basketball as a conshept.
Despite all the disgust they said aloud about Vito, the Jersey crew were dead silent when they heard he’d been murdered. Carlo was the only one who was amazed and admired Phil for whacking Vito. Yet Fat Dom’s murder almost seemed like retribution for Phil killing a made guy. Or was it because he was accused of being gay?
Would they go to war with New York, given Phil's bad character (no matter the situation) ? Or would everyone live and work as best friends?
For the record, the first family guy death pose didn't happen until 2012. Regardless, my brain noticed this instantly
Years in purgatory = 50 x sum(mortal sins) + 25 x sum(venial sins)
What’s his source?
I’ve tried looking it up and people said it had been said in the show but I cant find it
When Tony puts Christopher out of his misery, a lot of people bring up logical reasons like how Christopher was unreliable, he was a junkie, he couldn't succeed Tony, Bobby was a better replacement, etc. On my first couple watches, I would think of the same reasons. He had to go.. what are ya gonna do?
But honestly now I think that Tony just really hated him by the end and wanted to kill him. The look in his eyes when he's doing it is so disturbing, he looks like he's disgusted by Christopher and I don't recall him ever looking like that at anyone throughout the series. Meanwhile, Christopher is just looking around in confusion. He resembles a child here, wondering why his father is doing this to him. Seriously, if you haven't watched this scene in a while - go back and watch it because Tony looks so demonic here.
Even if Tony did kill Christopher for practical reasons, you'd expect him to feel some kind of sadness or remorse about it. Yeah their relationship was gone by the end, but they had a long run and clearly cared about each other at one point. He and Junior tried to kill each other but you could tell by the end that Tony still had love for him. Tony is an emotional person even when he doesn't want to be, but he shows no remorse whatsoever - during or after Christopher's killing.
What's worse is that he's skeeved by anyone else who grieves for Christopher and actively brings up the car seat as a reason for why maybe his death was for the best. He's not just emotionally detached from Christopher's death, he's actively pissing on his grave and he's ecstatic about it. Paulie is a known self-serving sick fuck, the type who only speaks to further his own interests most of the time. However, he shows a rare level of self-reflection and summarises his relationship with Chris beautifully - he acknowledges his failures and is clearly upset. He doesn't care that Christopher was an unreliable junkie, he just misses his friend.
I think in some ways Tony was jealous and threatened by Christopher. The balls on this parade float to insult Christopher's appearance. Tony always saw Christopher as 'lesser' but by the end, Christopher had matured in a few ways. He acknowledged that his father was a junkie, something that Tony was too blind to do. He makes good decisions regarding his sobriety (for a while), staying away from temptations while Tony was becoming a degenerate gambler. He tries to talk to Tony about the 'human condition', Chris is learning more about himself and trying to improve - not knowing that Tony abandoned his therapy and came to terms with being a fat fuckin crook from New Jersey. Christopher was distancing himself from the life and doing better - I think Tony resented him for it.
I watch the show about once a year and every single time I forget that there’s a bit in Mergers and Acquisitions where Janice has Robot Wars on the TV while ironing. Amazing.
What was Janice's point of having the session of talking about Livia during the wake? Did she just set that up to share that she felt she loved Tony more than her? I know it had to be related to her always being starved for attention...
The guy asks Richie for a loan that he pays back. Richie gets out of the can and asks Beansie for more money. Beansie refuses and gets turned into a shopping cart.
…Tony says “See if you can figure out the difference”. I’ve always pondered that.. what does he mean?
Hello, English is not my first language so sorry. Two years ago I move from Italy to America. I have lot of fun. But last few months, I start to fall in a love with a woman. The boss wife. I think she like me too but I’m not a so sure. My boss is fat, mean man. I think maybe I move to back to Italy, or maybe do something about my boss….Any advice?
When Tony is grilling, Chrissy recommends that Tony turn one of the sausages. I believe this is a metaphor for Jackie Jr. and love the poetic choice Chase makes here. If Jackie, and possibly later on AJ, had been properly schooled and taken under Tony's wing, they both may have been viable options to come up in the ranks. Instead, both boys become almost forced outsiders. They're not allowed into the social club and the inability to "turn these sausages," as it were, is what ultimately leads these characters to death or in AJ's case, inability to enjoy or participate in life.
You sopranos redditors take things too fah. There is a lot that I could say that I am not going to say right now.
Up in da club 🎶
Why do they drop the guns 5 feet from the crime scene? Like, they never wear gloves. In the Wire they drive some distance and ditch the guns in a drain or the river. What's the thinking?
I think furio could’ve been sent to take out Phil and the Paulie botch doesn’t happen
Blundetto was a smart guy and could’ve advised Tony in season 6 and carry out hits
And Chrissy as much of a shmuck he had become he still was one of the best marksmen in the show
