We must boycott them.
The Rookie has dabbled in exploring its characters’ pasts, but only to a limited extent. I’d love to see the show fully dive into their backstories, showing us exactly how they became the people they are today. Imagine a season-long arc where a formidable villain forces each of our beloved characters to confront their past—leading to a dramatic showdown. But instead of just references or flashbacks, we’d actually get full episodes dedicated to traveling back in time, immersing us in their defining moments. It would add depth, tension, and a whole new layer to the storytelling.
I STAN LA FIERA
GIRLBOSS
I SUPPORT WOMEN'S RIGHTS AND WRONGS
WIELDING A GUN AND SHOOTING DOWN EVERYONE THAT ENDANGERED HER BABY? AND THEN GETTING RECRUITED BY THE CARTEL!? SO COOL
I have never cried watching a show before but watching Angela go to Jackson’s gave at the end was probably the most emotional and honestly I think the way it was handled was really good, granted I was mad that they killed him off but I think it was needed for the story to progress
It dawned on me recently that we haven’t heard or seen a peep of Elijah, especially after how he and Oscar met at the end scene of 5x17. Wouldn’t it make sense for Monica to try to get him out alongside Jason and Oscar since they would have motives and connections for their revenge stories.
Okay, so. I'm on season 5 and I think breaking up with your boyfriend so you can date your boss irks me. Though I don't like Chris that much, they did him dirty here.
I just started watching the new season 7 of the rookie, and honestly I don’t really remember much at all from season 6 and prior, since it was so long since it came out. Would someone be able to just provide a brief summary of what happened during season 6?
Does anyone else miss Aaron? I know why his actor left, and it was completely understandable, I just miss his character!
He was so funny and I loved his interactions with Lucy. I feel like we were just diving into his life when he left! I was really hoping there was a chance with him and Celina.
I loved his story and It just felt fresh and new. It’s a shame he’s gone, but I really like the new rookies too!
I think in the Rookie fandom a lot of us really support Chenford and them getting back together is highly anticipated, and I am one of those people. At least, I thought I was, but when I watched the latest episode I got doubts.
Before I even started the Rookie at all I was one of the people introduced to the show through fan edits and TikToks, and Chenford featured very primarily in them. I would even say that it was wanting to see them finally kiss in the Season 4 finale that I finished four seasons within three days (never doing that again, no matter how worthwhile).
Once I had finished Season 6, however, did I notice that most of what was in those edits wasn't even from their relationship. Some popular scenes include their bet and him saving her during Season 2, that absolutely hilarious prank in Season 3 and their interviews during the 'true crime' episodes.
And that was when... boom! I remember reading in this sub that people who don't like Chenford (I hesitate to call them haters lol) say that they had no chemistry when they were actually dating, and I suddenly got it. They really were not that fun to watch when they were dating, whether that was their struggles about 'not dating people in your chain of command' or just their conversation.
This perspective was totally affirmed when during the latest episode, Lucy went to Tim about Ridley and he tried to invite her in to eat and she refused. I don't remember the dialogue very clearly, but I do remember one thing: that was when they got awkward.
I know it's expected that people who have broken up might be awkward, but come on! They work together! Also, the fact that they both have enough trust in each other to still confide to one another as friends is really touching to see, in that their friendship and support has lasted beyond their breakup.
Also, I just re-binged many of my favorite episodes, and it's true: they're better as friends. They were funnier, more witty, and their banter was just so... familiar, I guess. They've become a staple as Chenford the friends, not Chenford the strangely-unenjoyable-to-watch couple.
As a previous stan, I have to say: putting them together would be an easy fix for the show if they want both characters to end up happy. Alas, they've had their time. It's been fun. Let's move on to the next big thing. What do you think??>!!<
Sorry about bad tag it was probably my best bet, he was in his sergeant training, I believe
I know that the stories are written for TV and they are not meant to be a true-to-life representation of police work. However, the series' attention to technical detail makes me interested in what would happen if the scenarios in The Rookie played out in real life. Case in point is the frequent shootouts between police and suspects. Of course, it's unrealistic that cops should see this much high-stakes action on the regular. But apparently, they would also be buried in paperwork and internal investigations to justify their conduct and prove it was consistent with protocol. There seems to be a lot bureaucracy that comes with police officers discharging their firearm. If The Rookie were real life, what other notable things would happen that you don't see on the show.
What are some episodes that are underrated? I am trying to rewatch some episodes so any suggestions?
In S703 we see her parking at a LACoFD station.
Was she just parking, does she work at LAFD or LACoFD?
I mean, I'd assume LAFD considering how she responds to calls in the heat of Los Angeles, whereas LACoFD really goes into downtown for mutual aid requests and their job being, well, areas of the county with no local fire departments.
:)
OMGGG DID YALL SEE KOJO IN 07x04, CUTEST CHENFORD SCENE SINCE THEIR BREAKUP
Hoping they get back together soon <3
Eric Winter messed up in an interview and said we're getting a Chenford rain kiss this season??? Praying the rumors are true🤞
Who's your least favorite ex
Ashley... A life guard Tim dated and she broke up with him after surgery
Emmet... Emt Lucy dated
Grace.. Doc that broke up with Nolan
Jessica... Dhs hottie
Rachel.... Tim's social worker gf
Donavan.... Nyla's ex husband
Chris.... Assistant DA
Ok, so Talia is only a season 1 character. At the beginning of the show, it's mentioned that she has a secret relationship with one of her coworkers because she receives flowers from an admirer and responded with "it's complicated" when confronted with it, and was encouraged to let things go. She also painstakingly urges Lucy to let go of her relationship with John. Later, there's the whole storyline about her brother. BUT she admits to keeping tabs on him from a distance, and that they hadn't talked since they were younger. With how the actress left the show, they never finished that storyline. Who do yall think it was? I'm thinking it was Grey!!!
Additionally, I'm new to the show, and looked up about why the actress didn't return to the show. I'm still only on season 2!!!
Imagine if randy gets a job at the police station as a dispatcher…. Lmao it would be so funny
I would love if they did a comedic episode about Smitty. Where he is basically the unsung hero while everyone is going about their day. I just think that'd be a great episode where he tackles one crisis after the next like defusing a bomb, handling a hostage negotiation, delivering a baby and other things.
Any thoughts ? Predictions?
Here comes yet another Ridley rant lol. This man is sus af, I’m sorry, but you’re gonna tell me that one girlfriend od’ed and nearly died, another died in a car crash, AND you might have cancer… AGAIN? Now none of these things on their own, or even two of them happening to the same person are weird, but all of them? Nah something’s off. Something is very fishy here. I don’t trust him. I don’t think he’s evil, but so far nothing is telling me that he isn’t a pathological liar or in constant need of attention and pity so he makes himself the victim. Where is the redeeming trait? Are we going to get a redeeming trait (rhetorical question, don’t answer that lol)? Point is, I don’t like this man and I need someone to call him out on his bullshit. Rant over.
Compiling a list of things from The Rookie which are drawn from the real world but are altered or fictionalized (not incorrect or inaccurate) for plot, copyright, or promotional reasons. Off the top of my head, I can think of:
- ClipTalk
- Hulu being the only streaming service
- Hot Suspect
- Trading Fire movie franchise
- EXPEC shipping company
Can anyone think of anything else?
It a tv show, when people die in the show idc, when Nolan is framed idc but every episode with Stanton in it makes me so angry, I just want to punch him so hard, hes literally just an actor though wtf is wrong with me
enough about jason/malvado/everyone else! where do you think our favorite felon is?
What do you think every young’s cops future looks like? Like what position in the force do you think they’ll end up in, here’s what I think…
Celina- Would be a good TO with a bit more experience
Seth- Well… he might be a serial killer so nothing
Miles- Metro, he just seems like one of “the guys”
Lucy- After a TO, she will be a UC, but I would love to see a trio of Nyla, Angela, and Lucy as the three main detectives
Did anyone else notice that Lucy’s trauma involving serial killers was completely overlooked in this week’s episode? Novak was targeting young women just like Caleb did to her, yet there wasn’t even a conversation between her and her rookie about it—despite how similar it was to the Rosalind Dyer case back in season two. I did notice that Tim seemed to be constantly by her side in this episode, always keeping an eye on her. Do you think it was just a coincidence that Lucy showed up at the his house for what could’ve been a phone call, and that Tim wanted her to stay instead of driving home? Or was it tied to his past guilt and trauma over what happened with Caleb?
I may be a top level gooner for asking this but all of them are genuinely so pretty, all the to’s, all the rookies, bishop, Chen, Harper, Lopez, bradfurd, literally everyone
