Why is it that whenever a Punisher series or film is made, the directors never make it in a way that is faithful to the comics, his personality, origin and his journey? Why do we never see him killing horrible criminals and drug dealers with precision, tactically and with special forces military strategies?
How difficult is it to make a Punisher Max TV series? Garth Ennis can be called upon to give advice during the production of the plot and story. Directors in realistic action films such as Denis Villeneuve(Sicarios) or Antoine Fuqua (Training Day) and Special Forces soldiers, Navy Seals, US Army Rangers to help and give advice on the action scenes to make them more realistic and tactical.
The Actor playing the vigilante character could be Josh Brolin according to Frank's personality in the comics, which is cold, calculating, ruthless and shows empathy and compassion on rare occasions.
i just wanted to say that i really enjoy the banter between David and Frank during the first season of the show. im re watching it for the second time and i never really realized until now how funny of a combo the two are i know that the show is meant to be Sirius, but the dialog between the two is absolutely amazing to me and i was curious if anyone else felt the same way about the show i don't know how this will be reciprocated on the punisher reddit but i just wanted to get the thoughts of some real punisher fans.
Loved Ennis run of Punisher MAX. Truly amazing. What else would you guys recommend? Doesn’t have to be punisher, any comic will do. Only parameter is that it must be a run with a defined ending. I don’t have the time or energy to read a Superman Action comic that’s had monthly installments for the past 79 years.
Never
Arguably, one of the best crime writers in comics. Brubaker and Punisher would be a match made in comics heaven. Hell, give him the Marvel MAX imprint as well and let him do his own thing. I am sure it would be amazing. Any other writers that would be perfect for Frank Castle?
Just a quick fun edit I did. One of the most iconic anti heroes in fiction.
I believe it was from War Journal, but it's the issue where you just see Frank sitting in bushes with his gun drawn and his silhouette, think he had red eyes as well.

Which is a website well worth checking often in my opinion if you're okay with amazon-comixology sales (see below) )
Brand new to the forum so apologies if I break any rules without realizing it !
If you're okay with your comics being digital and being permanently tied to your amazon account ( a deal breaker for some people I know) there's a sale going on at comixology right now , $12 American for Born issues one through four and Punisher Max (2004) issues one through thirty all written by Garth Ennis.
While of course I'm familiar with the Punisher like any Marvel fan should be :) I admit the only two Punisher works I've read is "Welcome Back Frank" by Garth and Dillon which I thoroughly enjoyed (Marvel Knights series) and "Punisher Kills the Marvel Universe" which I also loved (totally unrelated but loved seeing the Punisher pop up on - well it used to be Netflix's Daredevil series now it's Disney's :) ) .. so I'm looking forward to reading this Punisher Max collection, from what I'm seeing on reddit threads it's considered a "must read" for comic fans :)
Here's the amazon link to it
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CZ9QBRBX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_d_asin_title_351_o00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
but if that doesn't work you could always go to the comixology part of amazon and search for "Punisher Max by Garth Ennis Omnibus Vol. 1 (The Punisher (2004-2009) "
I believe the sale runs through December 2nd 2024.
