This question is a long time coming, so I thought I'd ask here:
I uploaded my Killjoy poster set over a year ago, and I didn't add the collection poster until last. Since I did that, I've only been able to add links to the Additional Posters. I want to add them to the collection itself, but the only option is a "Browse" button. While re-uploading the same poster is technically an option, I'd rather link it to my existing uploaded poster.
How would someone accomplish this? Thanks in advance
But I just feel like people should see why this site will lose people. I am creating posters now for my plex server, and the first one I created was just for the fun of having it. I got reported in less then 24 hours by a self righteous douche.
His report was BS as I didn't violate the rules that the site has posted. I pointed that out. No where in the rules does it say you cant post something that supposed to be fun.
Between posting that first one that got complained against, and a mod responding that they were going against their own rules and and honoring the report, I posted 9 more and planned to post more as I finished them.
But now the only one that exists is the one that got complained against. Because if a site doesn't even honor its own policies and "decides" what is considered junk instead of letting the community decide... Well that's really bad moderation and policy.
If anyone else out there thinks a site moderation is in the wrong about this, and that people should be allowed to have fun with their posters that don't harm anyone and aren't insulting to any community, etc, please speak up and let moderation know. Bad policies and bad faith actors will drive away newer CONTRIBUTORS.
Maybe the mods are okay with just their posters being available, but if new contributors feel unwelcome and that the rules are arbitrary AF, they wont stay. I know I'm not.
UPDATE:
Both the crappy mod and the original reporter had to get their potshots in before it went away. A Mod saying not to "let the door hit [me] on the way out" is about as immature as it gets, and a sign of what Mods (or at least this one" think of users and contributors who aren't them and their homeys.
Honestly they are both such sad little people. and I hope they get a chance to touch grass soon.
Also TheBigG's comment is extra funny to me considering there are _4_ entries in the database for "Morbius 2: It's Morbin' Time" and 2 Entries for "Morbin' Time: A Morbius Parody Musical". Looks like the meme is still alive and well.
Hello, I recently created a "fan edit" for one of my favorite movies, and I would like to create a poster / cover art to accompany its "release." Originally I was going to modify one of the officially released posters, but I discovered the TPDb website and saw that people have submitted wonderful custom posters for this movie.
I wanted to reach out to a submitter and request permission to use their work, but I couldn't find a way to do that on this website. I do not want to use someone else's work as a base for my cover art unless there is an acceptable way to do so that leaves all parties satisfied.
Does anyone know what the right approach would be? Are there rules governing personal usage of custom posters, if the intent is non-commercial? Thank you for any information.
EDIT: The art I was hoping to get permission to use is here https://theposterdb.com/poster/27142 . The submitter's username is Toadie, who seems quite prolific on this site, so perhaps they are known to someone.
Basically title. What would be the best way to have multiple accounts? I make posters for anime series, the usual Hollywood/American films, and international films with a focus on Asian cinema mostly.
It kinda annoys me to have all three of these represented on my single profile and lately I've been feeling the desire to have a profile for each segment, i.e. anime profile, Hollywood profile, international profile.
I could just make three accounts and pay for Pro Lite on each account but signing in/out constantly would kinda be a pain in the ass. It would be great if there was a multi-profile feature for the full Pro subscription (i.e. one account, but multiple profiles).
I may be in the minority but I have OCPD and it would be great to separate these across different profiles. So what is the current best way of doing that? And what are the chances of multi-profile support?
There are certain users who make consistently themed posters for long running franchises like the MCU and such.
They are quite good.
However there is no way to search under just one uploader that i can find.
Can this be added if it isn't already there or if it is, make it easier to find and use?
Glad to see TPDB back up.
Feels like home.
Thanks and regards
Ok, so since the comeback I continued my Pro subscription, first month was like 50% off. That was in April. May goes by, June goes by and IIRC last time I checked was a few weeks ago and under Billing I only saw the charge for April, but my upload allowance was still for Pro subscription. Ok, I though, a bit weird maybe some troubles on TPDB's end. I just got back from vacation and I decided to check Billing portal again and now I see three charges for Pro for May/June/July. Ok, not complaining, but I would like to downgrade my plan since I am not uploading as much so Pro is just just a waste. But, when I try to downgrade to Pro Lite I get an error, and I am getting that error for the last three months. Any ideas? I tried logging in, logging out, but to no avail. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you. Cheers!
I think this may be against the rules so apologies if it is. Does anyone know if there's somewhere to download templates of some of the overlays that are used in poster collections? For example, this one:
I click Top and no matter what it's always a full page of Marvel posters. I've never watched a Marvel movie, I don't care about them, but I can't see a 'top' posted from any other franchise.
Anything I'm missing here to get past the Marvel Top?
Why do certain members just stick a white border around a zoomed in version of the original poster and add the title in Arial font at the bottom? I keep hiding all the members that submit these and 6 more pop up every day.
Some users are amazing, but these are just sad. They crank out like 50 a day.
Is it possible to „clear“ a poster with AI? So clear actors and stuff out, that there is only the movie title and the picture? Don’t want to use Photoshop or Gimp for this. Or even a step more: changing the movie title for example into German?
Anyone an easy solution for this? Or a tutorial?
I'm trying to add a poster for season 3 of Taskmaster Champion of Champions. I first tried to edit my original set but there is no upload option for season 3. I then tried to just upload the poster alone (linked to the show) and there was still no option for a season 3 upload. Does something need to be added by the Admin possibly? Thanks
I see many poster sets that use this font for the seasons. Can someone please tell me what it is? I've tried online font identifcation sites and they come up with lots of possibilities but I can't seem to pinpoint exactly the right one.
This site is becoming idiotic.
Any news for supporting API? It would be amazing to use ThePosterDB for tinymediamanager or mediaelch!
So, I am still having problems updating/adding posters in an already uploaded set, meaning if I add/change one of the posters via 'Edit Set' I do not see the changes even if I log out, clear browser cache and log back in. For instance, I have a 10 poster set and I was missing one of the posters in that set. I open the set page, click 'Edit Set', select new file, click upload, all goes fine, page refreshes but I can not see the change and clearing cache does not help. And if I open 'Edit Set' again, the empty poster slot is still, well... empty, even though the site said previous upload was all kosher.
Is anyone else experiencing this or am I flying solo here? Thanks. Cheers!
I'm looking for 4K images ideally, but 2000x3000 is the minimum bar. I'm subscribed to Pro Lite which says "Maximum 10MB file size". The next level vaguely says "Even fewer file restrictions". Almost everything I download seems to be 1000x1500. Once or twice I've seen 2000x3000. I don't think I've ever seen something larger. So I'm just trying to determine whether this is a subscription limitation or if in fact pretty much the entire site is just 1000x1500 images? Basically everything says "Dimensions: Not Collected" – which is weird because obviously the site could just grab the resolution from the image file. So I have to download endlessly to find anything in an appropriate size, but then nothing ends up being larger than a 1000x1500 postage stamp size. Am I missing something?
Having recently lost my server (but retained my files) I decided to try and download the posters rather than link and use local metadata so if/when it happens again it won’t be so much work. Anyway, I’ve reached the letter I in my film collection. The search engine seems to struggle with movies beginning with “in” maybe because it’s such a short word. Looking for “Bruges” instead of “In Bruges” yielded better results. Not sure if this is a tip for searching or something that you lovely folks can fix.
When searching, the results are a grey text on a black background. Is there a way to change this to something easier to see?
I'm trying to find posters for the sting (1973). Search returns nothing, google returns nothing. Is it just not in the database? The search engine seems to be broken for several movies... Try getting the OG disney version of Cinderella (1950).
Can anybody advise on how I add a poster I have previously uploaded to a new collection I am creating?
In this instance, I uploaded a poster for "Dune: Part One" a couple of years ago. I have now uploaded a poster for "Dune: Part Two" along with a "Dune Collection" poster. However, to add a "Dune: Part One" poster I only have the option to browse my drive and therefore upload another version of the same poster. This is stupid, because it creates a duplicate of the same poster!!
Why can't I just link it to my previously uploaded poster? I could, I suppose, remove the original poster I uploaded, but then I'd lose the kudos of however many downloads it might have had (not many!) and the new poster upload would appear at the very end of a long list of poster uploads for this movie. Hardly ideal.
Is there not a way to simply tag my existing poster that I uploaded 2 or 3 years ago to the collection?
Does anyone know how to reach this content creator? I'm hoping they will make Skull Island https://theposterdb.com/posters/1037832 to match the rest of the Monsterverse collection.
We really need a search function that allows a search within a specific Uploader's posters.
anyone else seeing this? When looking at a poster set (i've been looking at TV series), clicking the "Download Set Posters" button in the top right, the zip file downloaded only contains the first poster in the set. I've tried this with a few different shows and it's happened every time
The Painter, it's in TMDB but I can't seem to get it to show up in any search results. Am I missing something? I get several movies call "The Painter" but none from 2024, and the 2023 film looks like a completely different film.
Also to tag onto my previous issue, can you have the search treat "and" and "&" as interchangeable? It took me a minute to realize Pride and Prejudice is actually Pride & Prejudice. Would just be a nice QOL improvement
Just wanted to drop a huge shoutout for the incredible improvements the TPDB team has made recently. I know we all waited months for this and it was frustrating. Thank the lord though for it being back! Everything's lightning-fast now and pages load almost instantly. No more waiting around for 5-10 seconds is more of a game changer than I thought.
I know there was some frustration and scrutiny when it was warranted but now that it's back with such major improvements, I feel it's only fair to balance out that past scrutiny with some well-deserved praise. Especially because it's miles ahead of any other resource I use especially with the changes.
TPDB team, your hard work hasn't gone unnoticed, and it's genuinely appreciated, cheers to the devs and all involved!!!
