I am REALLY hoping someone might have an explanation for me because I feel like I'm going crazy after re-watching season one.

My girlfriend and I are rewatching TDIAPT since it had been so long since we first watched, and S2 wasn't out. There is a scene that I vividly remembered for it's emotional impact, and how effective it was at selling the story as a whole.

In my memory, it was Maou and Emi standing on top of a building after a very climactic fight - I could have sworn it was the end of S1 when Maou and Emi fought against Bel and Sariel. In this scene, it was Emi hugging Maou and it had finally "clicked" that he wasn't as horrible as she originally thought, and that she would fight by his side.

I was so hyped to see this scene again, but apparently that never happened in this show. My girlfriend and I both vividly remember this scene and we're totally stumped and have no idea what it could be from. Are we crazy? Did we somehow miss an episode that contained this? I remember specifically it was the two who were completely opposed to each other, ended up in the same world, and ultimately the female (Emi as I thought) realized he was never as bad as she thought.

We're halfway through season 2 right now (just before the recap episode) and there is no way it happens later in the series as we've never seen or have any memories of what's happening in these later episodes.

Does anyone know where I can read the complete manga?

Just finished the anime, and was honestly kinda disappointed. Pretty rushed, not a ton of loose ends tied up. But like one thing that really annoyed me was the change in Sadao's demon form character design. From a super tall, goat-hoofed muscular demon to what looks like his human form in demon cosplay... I don't remember ever seeing an explanation in the anime for why his demon form just looks like his human form plus horns and wings now, but I really miss the OG design. He exuded strength, charisma, and just badassery back then. Not sure if I want to even continue the story via manga tbh.

So of course I was late to the game with my boyfriend introducing me to the wonders of anime after we got together. My first anime was The Devil Is A Part Timer season 1. Then I got hooked and enjoyed season 2 when it came out. I love reading…. So I have alllll the light novels and am now on book 21 AHHHHHHHHHGHHHHHHHH!

1. I know how it ends due to spoilers etc though it still is upsetting
2. I feel like maybe book 18 or 19 it felt almost chaotic and like someone took over writing this! It didn’t feel the same in cadence and was allllllll over the place.
3. Like everyone (almost everyone I should say) I am so unhappy with the way it’s turning out. UGHHHHHHHHH.

Ok. I just needed to get that out there. Did anyone else feel like the writing got, messy? Or out of sorts towards the end? And things just seemed allllll over the place.

The first question is who Maou ended up with, and the second one is what happened to Emi's mom. I know it was probably answered here, but I'm a Russian speaker, so it's hard to navigate.

So I watched S1 of the anime a while back and only recently started watching S2, but unfortunately got it spoiled for me that Maou ends up with Chiho (to my obvious disappointment). However, on this sub I've seen some discussion of a manga-exclusive ending which hopefully brings together Maou and Emi. Is that actually plausible or just a pipe dream? Also, just to confirm, the manga is still ongoing, right? I haven't found any reliable sources on the status of the manga rn, so I'm a bit confused.

And finally, are there any good fanfics out there shipping Maou and Emi? I've found a couple but most of them are pretty open-ended or not explicit enough, and I'm a stickler for solid, closed endings, preferably where they profess their love for each other or kiss or do something along those lines.

Hello there! I am a newcomer to the Devil is a Part Timer franchise. I am watching the anime and I am planning on reading the manga and light novels soon as well. So, I just started watching the first episode of the anime, and I found this skeleton character..

He is seen in the introduction scene of the very first episode, and never appears again. Who is this character? Is he in the manga or the light novels? I hear online he is called: "Malacoda", but I am not so sure about that. When I checked, Malacoda looks like an ogre, not this silver skeleton guy.

Do we know who this is? Or is he never named?

First question will they be a season 4 if so when and will it have a different ending to the original source. 2nd: same thing for the manga will it have a different ending from the source because i simply hate that he ends up with an underage highschool girl with big tits rather then the hero AND satan which would have made the perfect enemies to lovers anime they even have a kid technically i just dont understand why the author went with chiho?

really liked season 1, rest was meh. I want to read light novels but it is an extensive series and a huge consumption of time so here are some questions ,

1. I really ship maou and Emi, who really end up with maou or is it a harem kind of situation that maou is a parent with emi so they are together and maou also marries chio.

2. after watching season 2 part 2 where does the story continue in light novel (just for info I plan to read entire series from volume 1 but just asking).

3. is anime faithdull to light novel or are there some differences but the plot is mainly the same.

i just got done watching th S3 (or the s2 of s2), and i have a *few* questions.

1. will Emi's fam gonna have a reunion? or is there a chance for emi to meet & talk to her mom again at least?
2. if Acieth calls Nord as dad, then that makes Alas Ramus & Emi, sisters? (although it was already *kinda* concluded by Emi that the reason why Alas Ramus calls her mama bc of how Emi resembles their mom *free for correction, goldfish memory*)
3. what could be the purpose of Gabriel being brought back to Japan?
4. What's the backstory about the landlady & her niece? (the part where Chi asked & said she'd rather regret knowing blabla)
5. So... Maou's really ruling both Demon realm & Japan orrr...?

Having these questions, it deserves to have S4 at leastttttt but i saw the fin in the last ep of s3 so.... is that really it????????? HUHUUUU

Hey everybody,

I recently watched the anime series. First season was amazing Second was ehhh, so I had no hope for a Third season coming out. That's when I decided that I'll read the manga or the Light Novel, but out of curiosity I did one Google search that, for me personally at least, ruined the series. I'm sure by now we all know what that is. Anyway, I'm taking it upon myself to rewrite the entire Light Novel series. I do not plan on making any major changes, it'll most likely be a slight tweak of the original series with almost no major differences. I'm planning to rewrite every single Light Novel of this series and try my best to really bring out the full potential of this world. Now I have a few things to state; I'm a total amateur at this thing, I'm doing this as a passion project, I'm still a student. But with that being said I'll provide regular updates on my progress, but please for the love of god don't expect too much it's likely going to be a dumpster fire.
