Andy on Off Menu Podcast

Very pleasant listening to this to start my day. https://shows.acast.com/offmenu/episodes/ep-274-andy-zaltzman-christmas-special.

It's a superb menu. Two items that struck me as possibly particularly worthy of note for fellow Buglers, though:

  1. Can't believe he didn't pause to mention how very good his recipe for carbonara is. (At least not within the first hour, which is the point at which I'm posting)
  2. Always nice to see Scluton Malvegne get a mention. It's been a while!

Bugle Nostalgia: Syria news!

The most recent Bugle hints at a possible return of Johnny Showbiz this week, doesn't it? Has Assad been listening? Are the movements in Syria just a huge international exercise in Bugle nostalgia?

At one point I even wondered if a fuckeulogy might be in preparation, but it seems like Assad's managed to avoid that for now.

Why is Pod Save America in the Feed?

I guess Andy is wanting to direct his audience toward a "real" news source about Trump, but isn't his audience media literate enough to do that on their own?

Pod Save America is mostly neoliberal shite; I'm much more of a Chapo fan myself, but I wouldn't expect to see that in the feed either.

Just curious what's going on...

I seriously feel this was narrated by Mickey Stantainio.

When’s the last time merch was available?

I may have occasion this fall to rep The Bugle and it looks like the shelves behind the merch link are currently bare.

Top Story

The delivery of "Cold and Wet Weaver" never fails to make me laugh. The dogs pun run is next level!

E4308 : Nish was really on fire in that one.

Him screaming at the 13 years old in the audience had me in tears.
Great episode.

How are newsletters supposed to arrive?

I'm a paid subscriber as of a few months ago but haven't received anything from them by email. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong (or not doing something I ought to be doing)?

Licking toads?

There was a line in a podcast (probably) like "you're doing heroin and I'm licking toads" among other similar lines.

It could have been the dollop? Or the bugle? The gargle? One of the spinoffs? Something from Trae Crowder on YouTube?

My brain is trying to put it in something like John Oliver's voice, which would suggest the bugle, so I guess I'll start with them. I think it was in the last couple months.

Free ticket for Bugle Live London show (June 8th)

Hi Buglers,

I booked a single ticket for the June 8th Bugle live in London, but I can't use it, so I'm happy to give it away for free if anyone can use it.

Assuming more than one person wants it, comment with your favourite quote or just favourite part of the podcast from the John Oliver era, just because that's the time I know best so I'm most likely to relate.

I'll message the user who posts the one I like best and offer the ticket. Please only comment if you will be able to use the ticket and not planning to sell it or something.

The Bayeux tapestry, telling the history of the battle of Hastings, definitely needed a plonker.
