It's dumb but it irks me.
"Robin? How dare you, Robin is ridiculous. I HAVEN'T READ THE COMICS but Robin is not needed"
Batman has over 1000 issues and Robin only didn't exist in less than 20 of them.
"GROUNDED, REALISTIC"
An american billionaire fighting for poor people dressed as a bat can't be realistic.
Seriously. Just admit you feel a little bit of shame that the character came from a medium you're not familiar with or think is childish and let fans dream about what they like.
Matt Reeves said that Bruce will be going to a kind of existencial crisis after the events of the first movie, feeling responsible for the things Riddler has done to the city, since he was inspired by him.
My guess is that The Flying Graysons storyline will be in part II and that Dick will make Bruce believe that he's necessary to Gotham again.
"I have to become more..."
His adopted son will help him with that, another guess of mine is that this will be his transition from a dark figure to the playboy Bruce Wayne we know.
So, I was rewatching Cent'Anni (episode 4) and noticed some extremely interesting objects on Julian's desk.
These were NOT there in the first scene with Julian's office (episode 2), where Sofia has a PTSD meltdown. In that episode, in order to ground her, he specifically tells her to look at the pictures on the wall and the objects on his desk. His desk is totally normal at that point.
If you go and rewatch this scene in Cent'Anni, you'll notice Sofia herself briefly checks out these objects as she walks around the room. And when she is going through his desk, if you look at where her sight line actually is, it's on his desk, not in the drawer with the pills.
Something interesting to note is that she's not really supposed to be there in that episode; she's only there as an accident/emergency. It seems plausible, plot-wise, that Julian didn't have a chance to put these things away like he perhaps normally would if he knew someone else was going to be in his office.
Just food for thought that I thought this sub might appreciate :)
If at the end a different guy walked up to Os while he's walking down the street and stabbed Os in the stomach a bunch of times with an umbrella and then Os fell down and died on the ground while the other guy put on a top hat out of focus in the background
Lauren LeFranc does an interview and says "Os Cobb was never THE Penguin"
~fin~
After the events of The Batman and The Penguin, Bruce Wayne has embraced his role as a philanthropist, investing heavily in Gotham's infrastructure to rebuild the city. His efforts to transform Gotham into a beacon of hope are met with both admiration and resistance. As Bruce steps into the public eye, he becomes a target for the mysterious and powerful Court of Owls, a secret society that has controlled Gotham from the shadows for centuries.
The Court of Owls, threatened by Bruce's influence and his plans to reshape Gotham, emerges to stop him. They unleash their deadly enforcers, the Talons, to eliminate Bruce Wayne and maintain their grip on the city. As Batman, Bruce must uncover the secrets of the Court and dismantle their network, all while protecting his identity and those he cares about.
Meanwhile, Oswald Cobblepot, the Penguin, has his sights set on becoming the mayor of Gotham. Using his newfound power and influence, he manipulates the political landscape to gain legitimacy and further his criminal empire. Bruce must navigate this political intrigue, balancing his public persona and his role as Batman.
As the Court of Owls and the Penguin's ambitions collide, Bruce faces his greatest challenge yet. He must confront the darkness within Gotham and himself, forging a path that will define the city's future.
From Questions Multiply The Mystery (1995)
His childhood is spent feeling unseen and ignored by the world around him. He’s a nobody. This instills in him, narcissistic tendencies and a craving to be acknowledged and finally seen. “They’ll remember me now”
To crying like a baby because Batman “cheated”, not playing the game like Riddler had planned. “This was not how this was supposed to go! I had it all planned out!” That wasn’t the attention he was after. It was awe and acknowledgment.
To beginning his recuperation and planning the next challenge for Batman. More ruthless and resentful than ever.
Fun Fact: In this story, his first encounter with Batman has him wearing a green outfit with a big white question mark.
If will come between Batman part 2 and 3 and Iam all for it, if it like reeves said if we have great story worth telling why not I often wondered Oz killed his brothers and nobody else until we meet him in the show, I hope to see Sofia again either in Batman part 2 or another season if not both!
In the last scene with his mother, is Oz really that delusional into thinking he’s doing what’s best for his mother/what she wants, or does he know exactly what he’s doing for retribution (how she attacked him, how she planned to have him killed).
If he’s so averse to “family” as shown with his brothers and Vic, why is his mother the only exception? Is it just an obsessive behavior?
I guess I’m trying to understand why he would think family is a liability while at the same time being intent to hang on to his mom at all costs.
I hate it. What the fuck even is that?? She was so pretty before, but for whatever reason the show runners thought it was a good idea to have her killing people with that creature on her head from ep 6 onward?? Were they high themselves or something? At least make it a trim, that shit is atrocious.
What’d you think of it?
Can't wait to hear his father's version of Mick's Penguin theme
Yesterday there was a question about how did Riddler know that Batman was intelligent, and most people claimed it was because on year one Batman solved some interesting crime cases and also caught the Joker.
So if Riddler was aware of it, Mob from Falcone and Maroni should have also been aware.
If so.... Why didn't Batman have the respect from mob?
Because he wasn't just hitting random thugs, he was actually solving cases which needs some kind of intellectual level.
Spoilers for The Batman and The Penguin. So in The Batman, I always thought Gil Colson meant more when he said "People are watching", and "Its so much bigger than you could ever imagine, its the whole system". The level of corruption he was implying seemed heavier than what was revealed with Falcone and the whole Renewal scam. Then we got the literal court of owls scene in The Penguin. Then theres Matt Reeves alluding to The Court, by saying the corruption will go deeper in the sequel. So, with the whole Court of Owls thing being a significant possibility, or something like it, I think it'd be so cool if there was an Eyes Wide Shut vibe there. Like how there was the Se7en homage in the first film, among other nods. I feel it would fit so well aesthetically, and thematically.
And maybe this is already a vibe in the comics about The Court. I read that run back in the day, but can't remember it too well, so I donno. Either way, I'm sure this isnt a new idea, and in general EWS was some of the inspiration for The Court to begin with. As the EWS cult is like the benchmark for fictional secret society representation, at least in the truly creepy and mysterious sense. In any case, they should specifically capitalize on said vibe to paint that picture. And like imagine Bruce infiltrating a secret society costume party, dressed like them, but his costume has Batman elements, and he's got his gadgets on em lol. Be so cool.
Also, whats everyone's opinion on The Penguin now that its over? I didn't have high praises for it during most of its run. I found a good bit of it to be sloppy, and kind of distant to the feel and level of storytelling that The Batman had. However, the ending came together very well for me, and made up for a lot of my gripes. And overall, just got me really excited for The Batman 2.
I watched it and it fits so well, its a perfectly done scene, but i believe it was casted and filmed so well than cut on purpose. It lets the fans buld hype and discuss the scene without making it cannon, they could still film as if this scene had always happened or not. Its up to them.
I say this with utmost reverence, but I feel like Sofia shares a lot of characteristics with a futa. Even her name change to Giganté feels like a bit of a nod to this idea. Thoughts?
In the movie, she felt like she didn’t actually do much, getting herself shot after talking down to people and generally not doing too great.
But that task force she setting up makes me really excited and like her more because she’s actually doing something this time so I’m pretty excited to see what she’ll actually do for the world and where her character will go.
