I saw some adverts for a reboot of the Hollywood Squares. They flashed a picture of our Phil as part of a montage. I've tried looking online confirmation but couldn't find anything.
Can anyone confirm?
First of all, I wanna say that I'm not trying to cause any controversy especially given what the show has gone through with Vietnam. I love TAR and the idea of traveling and showing the world and different cultures.
But I find it amusing that they had to give Putin credit personally. This reminds me of a comment here from someone who knows a producer at TAR who said the amount of paperwork needed to film at an authoritarian country is crazy.
Please remember filming of Season 5 was in 2003, 21 years ago. Russia was a very different country politically back then.
what are some things you would bring on the race other than the very basics (clothes, toiletries)?
i would definitely bring a pack of liquid IV/electrolytes because dehydration would be my biggest fear. i also remember seeing a team on TAR36 (i think the grandparents?) bring an extra pair of shoes in their backpack and i’m wondering why you would need a second pair beyond your basic running shoes.
Was he injured? Did he just suck at everything? Why was he always deflecting back on to Kurt?
Though both shows may appear formulaic, the Amazing Race always feels like something exciting could possibly happen each season (S32 and S36 being a few exceptions). The new locations and interesting team dynamics really add a layer that is missing to Survivor.
Survivor (especially recently) has lost much of its charm that originally made it great, yet continues to bring in higher numbers than the Amazing Race

Andrew and Dan have always been my favorite team in Season 13 because of their chaos and sheer bad luck most of the time so I have always found the Penultimate leg to be hilarious. Andrew and Dan did HORRIBLE in the previous leg, have a speed bump, and are overall the pretty obvious next elim. Through sheer luck, Toni and Dallas misplace their passports, allowing Andrew and Dnn to stay in, but the funniest part of this to me is that even is Toni and Dallas hadn't lost their passports, Andrew and Dan would have still SOMEHOW managed to make final 3 because they STILL beat Ken and Tina somehow. I just think its so funny that despite being so bad, they still make it into the final 3 even without the lost passports.
I know CBS would never, but I wish there had been an episode or behind the scene special about what happened when the charter plane didn't show up in Chile, and they had to completely reroute the race. I can't think of a more Amazing Race type challenge than for Phil and the other producers to figure out how to get from Chile to Philadelphia by X date exactly, but with no rules on what they do or where they go to achieve that end location. And to do so with all the moving parts and people already in transit!
Hey folks. Please be honest with me. I'm a big Survivor fan, watched every season (some multiple times). Whenever someone posts on r/survivor about which seasons they should watch, I'm always one of the people advocating that they should start form the beginning and not cherry pick seasons, since that's the best way to get maximum enjoyment, while really appreciating the growth of repeat contestants and the changes over time. As I always say, even bad survivor seasons are good television.
A long time ago, I was also really into the Amazing Race, but only for the first couple of seasons. I've been considering giving it another go. Should I follow my own advice? Is it better to start from the beginning? Or does it not matter and should I just watch a season that is well reviewed?
For me
Started Bad, Ended Bad: 4
Started Ok, Ended Bad: 33
Started Good, Ended Bad: 29
Started Bad, Ended Okay: 26
Started Okay Ended Okay: 23
Started Good Ended Okay: 15
Started Bad Ended Good: Not sure
Started Okay Ended Good: 12
Started Good Ended Good: 5
I don’t understand all the contestants hating on Hayley and Kaylynn.
They seemed perfectly fine with all the other contestants and even though there is the “mine 5”, they seemed to be unusually picked on.
Let’s face it, in all the seasons, despite saying their U-Turns were “strategic”, teams generally U-Turn because they don’t like a team, it to give another team a chance.
So did the other teams not like the “blondes”?
I have a bunch of those. I like how in older seasons, post production tries to scrub all production from their final cut to create an immersive viewing experience but still leaves some in, either because the action is too good or it’s in the background that no one would notice. There’re some interesting Easter eggs they leave in there too.
I’m trying to see how to post multiple photos in the same main post in this sub.
Can someone please upscale this image?
Season 5, Ep 1 additional information:
"The producers have made a good-faith effort to check that all cars are ... These cars are "first come, first choose"... If a car... difficulties of any sort, producers reserve the right to make best... replacement car, or you may attempt to fix it in the meanwhile... Should you find yourself in this situation... will not be given.”
I’ve always felt that this rule is unreasonable. “Production provided” should mean production is liable for any time lost due to its failure.
Hi TAR-fans! My wife and family have a running joke where we make the "ding ding ding ding dong" sound effect whenever something bad happens. I want to make her a xmas gift custom shirt that has something connected to this sound. My not so creative idea is just to print the words "ding ding ding ding dong" and find some kind of TAR graphic to go with it. I'm wondering if you all have any better ideas? Or maybe suggestions for graphics that really capture the spirit of the fail sound? Thanks for your help!
You have been given the power to switch two teams that finished NEXT TO EACH OTHER (Ex. 5th/6th or 2nd/3rd. Switching First Place with Last Place is not an option for this) in the position rankings in any given leg of the show's history. What two teams are you switching? Though I will exclude doing this for the final leg because that is too easy. A lot of people would just say switch the 2nd place team with the 1st place team.
My own personal opinion: Season 16 Leg 11. I would switch >!Dan & Jordan!< (3rd) with >!Louie & Michael!< (4th). Though I'd also consider: Season 20 Leg 10. I would switch >!Art & JJ!< (4th) with >!Bopper & Mark!< (5th)
what do you think was the best use of a u-turn? for me, i was thinking about the season where teams plotted to take out a team by u-turning that team and then wasting the other u-turn on a team that was already ahead but i can’t remember what season and teams that was😫
Which teams that were in multiple seasons did you change your opinion about?
Collin and Christie - From “my ox is broken” to hugging another team who had just U-Turned them. They became zen masters.
On the other hand…
I really liked the Afganimals their first season but liked them less their second and really disliked them their 3rd season.

Anybody hear back from casting / anyone know how long turn around time is to expect to hear after putting in your application
Feels like there's moments of quiet, its not as loud and constantly trying to jingle the keys in front of your eyes.
Obvously that's just a case of the time period and editing styles of 25 years ago compared to the now, not really a knock for or against anything, just making an observation.
I personally think Dave and Connor O'leary are pretty nice especially Dave.
I know anything from before the first All-stars is considered classic, but do you ever watch a season (say S21 or S18) and consider it "old school"?
I love TAR but sometimes the locations feel a bit exploitive and inappropriate. Like we are a bunch of Americans racing for fame and money on a TV show, let me use your culture or living situation as a back drop...
TAR8 - Everyone vs Weavers
TAR16 - Carol/Brandy's U-Turn Meltdown + Brandy Confrontation with Caite at the Finale
TAR24 - Everyone (Except the cowboys) vs Brenchel + Accidental Alliance Formation at the Train Against the Brenchel
TAR32 - The Plotting Against Gary/DeAngelo + Contraversal Answer Sharing + DeAngelo's Meltdown at the Pitstop
To me, season 22 takes the cake, cause like how can you make it so lame to watch... Anything that happened after the 2nd Botswana leg was practically forgettable.
Legs in Scotland and Northern Ireland are the most bland episodes I've ever watched. While the Switzerland legs have a spectacular route, the challenge was disappointing, especially the Switchback. Speaking of that, the two switchback was ok? The cheese task wasn't that fun the 2nd time, and the most random switchback ever, the code task... It exists I guess.
To be honest, this was ruined because of the boot order too. Teams like Pam & Winnie, Chuck & Wynona and Joey & Meghan were eliminated one by one, leading to one of the most boring final 4 ever with the obvious winner (and super boring) teams of Bates & Anthony. Mona & Beth had the storyline of being strong moms but was the most forgettable of the final 4, Caroline & Jennifer were dumb blondes and was probably the only team I enjoyed watching during the second-half, Max & Katie were fine the first-half but their entertainment quickly run out and leave us with a generic couple. And Bates & Anthony... I guess they are sweet and really good at the race. All 4 teams are likable but if you're here for good TV (like me), they were definitely boring and forgettable, and hell even when they are likable they are still boring.
