Texas girl who's seen it all. Hit with an unprecedented storm 2/21. Unable to physically or financially help, I've been utilizing my finance, debt, counseling knowledge to help anyone I can. Whatcha got for me?
I've worked at most of the major banks in the US. I have an extensive knowledge in banking and finance. I can explain overdrafts, overdraft protection, balancing checkbooks, savings accounts. I might be able to give you hints or tips with which bank might help you open an account. I also might know which banks and how much might let you take out an overdraft. ;)
I have also worked for places that help with state benefits. Food stamps, etc. I have seen all sorts of applications. I have an idea of what gets approved and denied. (There's no reason that the woman who got her eyebrows done bi-weekly and her car professionally detailed monthly, should get food stamps you!instead of you!) Man, do I have some stories!
I know how to dispute bank account charges (even if it was you, might be able to fight), dispute your credit report, might be able to help you improve your credit score, etc.
Also, during this time and with all of my experience, I've gone to some counseling in my lifetime. Marriage. Self Esteem. Mental Health. You name it. If you are feeling low, I bet I can offer some sort of advice to make you feel better!
We can also discuss: food, true crime, animals, dogs, cats, fish, love, suicide, lgbtq, whatever. Sad? Message me.
*I am not looking for payment. I don't need it right now. I have just been there. I have recognized that everyone needs to lean on each other.

Hello, my wife and I just recently sold our first house and moved into our second in a different county. We have since gotten bills from the school district we used to live in, as well as the MUD we left. I was under the impression that whoever owned the home at the end of the year owed the taxes? Was I mistaken?
Hello im asking for a favor. My wife and I live on a budget each month My wife has medical issues that require medication and the refills are not cheap but are necessary . Anyhow I am $46 short of paying our rent today .I can and will pay back the money saturday. Or i can work for it if need be.thank you. Call or text me at 469-299-9899 Danny
Long story short: I'm purchasing a house on the other side of the metroplex, and had someone who'd committed to subletting to replace me on the lease (until Feb 2021), and due to complications from COVID, they had to back out.
Move in is September 1st of 2020, and it's a nice place near all kinds of shopping, parks, Collin College and all that. Can be either one person who wants/needs extra space, or 2 people as it's 2 bedrooms.
I've also posted to /r/DFWClassifieds and to /r/CollinCollege.
2 upstairs bedrooms and private bath in spacious 2 story house in east Plano. Garage parking and storage space, large pool w/maintenance service included in lease. Ample closet and cupboard space. Central A/C, 10 minutes from 2 large nature preserves (Breckenridge and Oak Point parks), minutes to Collin College Plano campus. Kroger supermarket within walking distance and tons of restaurants and shopping nearby.
House has all the amenities, including symmetric Gigabit Frontier FIOS fiber service.
Roommate works F/T in the pharma industry and is very down to earth. I'm closing on a house at the end of the month.
Will have full access to all common areas, and if you have any couches or such, will be taking a sectional with me to my new place.
I work nights from home thanks to COVID-19, so if your schedule only permits evenings free to tour the property, that's doable.
Photos included are of the rooms themselves and the common areas. The paint scheme has changed to a nice sky blue.
Text me at seven six zero four nine eight one zero six nine, as I may not see a PM here right away due to packing and such.
Move in on Oct 1st 2020.
Rent is $950/month and split water, electricity, gas and internet. You will need to pay the management agency a $50 application fee, and will be added to the lease, which expires in February 2021. Deposit is 1 month rent for first/last month, and 1 month rent for security deposit, so total of $1900.
IMGUR Gallery of the house here: common areas and rooms open.
Edit: Touched base with my real estate agent, and I was in error about when the new house would be available. Can push move in out to October 1st.
We’re making frequent trips to Dallas for doctor appointments and instead of driving it, we’d rather fly, but the hardest part is that our trips involve an 8 month old. Near as I can tell Lyft and Uber don’t do car seats. Any help on the topic would be most appreciated.
I am 25f and lost my part-time job in July because of an illness that I am still trying to get a diagnosis for. Basically I cannot stand for long periods of time and get lightheaded and winded and must sit down often. I also have get vasovagal episodes where I come close to fainting. This makes it very difficult to find a job (most of the places near me are fast food and stores which require standing).
I may be faced with homelessness in January after the house I am currently living in gets sold. I want to work from home but I do not have the required equipment. I have been trying to sell things in my home to make some quick cash but I am running out of things. I have made $55 but had to give $20 to a neighbor to buy cat food for me because I cannot drive and could not get to the store. Both of my cats need vet attention but I have no money to make that happen and I feel horrible about it. I don't want to lose my cats, but I don't want to give them to a shelter where they will be killed.
My back is against the wall and I am running out of time. I do not know what to do. I am very afraid and need to come up with something.
I am on food stamps but this is my last month (I only was able to get 3 months since I am childless).
I need to come up with money to install wired internet and get a headset and cable for my computer so I can get training to work from home.
Can anyone give me any ideas?
Dear Reddit:
I am in desperate need of your help for REDDIT JUSTICE! Here are the deets:
When: Saturday September 8, 2018 around 1:22PM Central Time
Where: I-635 Westbound, a little bit before Exit 21 Preston Road
What+Who: A 2009'ish Black Buick
Why: My property was damaged as a result of a car accident. I need dash cam footage, rear cam footage, or a third party eye witness to the accident who might have seen the car pieces fly out to prove it to my insurance company. The insurance company said it has to be someone other than the folks in the accident or myself. I don't want to pick on the insurance company by filing complaints. Instead, I want to see if I can give them exactly what they asked for.
Anyways, the Buick (I think its front headlights were out, tough to tell as it was raining) was two lanes to the left of the right most lane. The Buick was closely behind a Silver sedan. A white sedan was behind the Buick.
All of a sudden, the Buick quickly cut over one lane to the right (I think without signaling), with a few feet of distance between its back bumper and the front bumper of a White Toyota. The Buick almost hit the cars in the next lane to the right. The poor driver in the White Toyota quickly slammed on their breaks, but the Toyota and the Buick bumped bumpers.
I heard a small clink, but thought nothing of it as it clinked at the same time the music I was listening to had some metallic sounds playing. However, a bit later damage to my property was noticed.
Also, the accident wasn't serious, so no news stations covered it.
I've searched the interwebs exhaustively, but cannot find anything.
I have a few more identifying details, but to be respectful of the privacy of all involved, I don't want to reveal anything further, discuss this with the media (sorry), or have any further personally identifiable information posted. Instead, please personal message me with more specific details and I'll follow up with you if you "gotz da goodz".

Hi there,
I plan to visit Texas soon and I saw that sales taxes may be refunded to international visitors. This is done by firms such as TaxFree Shopping (http://www.taxfreetexas.com). However, I was wondering if it was possible for me to file the required forms myself to claim my sales taxes paid.
Navigating the Comptroller of Public Accounts website for information hasn't yielded me any information regarding this.
Could you please provide me with some information as to whether this is possible or not and, if yes, outline the procedure or provide a link to where I can find such information?
Thank you.
I got an iPhone that was locked to West Central and only way to unlock it is if I'm the account holder for the service that the phone is on.
So if anyone has an active sim card from them or wouldn't mind going to one of their locations and setting up a prepaid account under my name that would be great!
Thank you so much!
Hi Everyone! My sister and I are doing a 2 week mini road trip around Texas from the end of May, however and are looking into renting a car from Austin and dropping it off at New Orleans 2 weeks later before we catch our flight home. Online the cheapest car rental we can find is $600 a week which seems to be a bit too expensive for us.. I will be 21 at the time and shes 25, but even without me as a driver its still expensive. Any opinions on how to cut the price down a bit? Is it worth looking into someone who will rent a car privately? Or see if anyone needs a car transported from Austin to New Orleans?
Choices as far as I'm aware of are Spectrum and Frontier. Which one do YOU use and recommend?
My favorite band and I finally am in a place to see them live November 16th at the rustic in Dallas. My Fiance and I are in the middle of relocating all the way to New Mexico. He is already there. All My other friends left to graduate schools. I would love to have some company on a night like this. I am game for almost anything. Thanks.
My dog has decided it'd be a good idea to start chewing on a beautiful wood table I bought about a year ago. I don't want to get rid of it, but I'm willing to hire a carpenter to come help me out. The actual chewed pets seem to be separate from the actual table. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I'm trying to keep a list of some AA meetings in the DFW area and find a topic/speaker for each one in the past month. Obviously not the speaker's whole name. Need it for some writing and research I'm doing.
Thanks!

I am looking for 4 super strong people to help with cutting and transporting heavy (and I mean heavy) pieces of grass to the Texas Theatre in Oak Cliff.
Me plus the artist and her husband have been working non-stop for the last 4 days and we have had to come to terms that we definitely need help. The grass has been soaked from the rain and has to be finished being attached to a wired backing. After we cut the grass into manageable sizes we need help loading it into my truck and then then taking the load up some narrow stairs at the theatre into the gallery.
I know this is a weird request since we are putting the grass on the walls of the gallery but we really need the help. We tried carrying one (3 x 5 ft rolled) and we nearly broke our backs. To note, we agreed that we have to cut them shorter so two people can carry it.
The artist is offering to pay $40 for two hours of help and we will be starting at 11 am tomorrow (Sunday). If we get enough people we should be done super fast!
I want to remind you that this will be messy and hard work and will need some work gloves. Please message me and I will get back to you.
As the title says, looking for a friend garage where I can work on my car (soon to be e36 or e46 M3).
Little about me. I've recently moved from Colorado to Dallas for work and I don't know too many people here. I used to race motorcycles in the MRA and had tons of gear head friends. If I wasn't at the track racing I was learning how to work on bikes.
I'm plan on doing lots of work to this car to make it even more fun to drive and obviously a helping hand would be awesome, always more fun to do it together.
Sure I could spend a couple grand and have some shop do the work, but where's the fun in that? I'm a programmer by trade so in my spare time it would be fun to learn to work on something that doesn't give me any error messages :)
If there's some cool dude/s out there kind enough to befriend a fellow gearhead that's new to Dallas, let me know. Cheers.
Hi! My sister is in town and it's her 23rd birthday, but she has no friends there! I'm her brother but I'm still in California. She's staying in a hotel and is looking for some friends, is there anyone who can please help her celebrate today? <3
Hey guys, hope this search for help doesn't break any of your rules.
I'm managing a band, Get Married, and they are touring the country this summer. You can find the music here to further preface our request.
Our show in Denton on August 1st fell through, and we are looking to find another show, sadly on super short notice. At this point, we will gladly fill just about any bill we can find! The boys in the band are all 21+ (so bar owners feel free to drop a line) and are all truly well mannered and lovely guys.
If any of you know of anywhere I can turn to help my boys out, let me know! Whether you own a venue yourself or can even point me towards a venue/business (since I'm not local myself and don't know anything more than a Yelp search can show me), any and all help is appreciated!
Thanks reddit homies
Take advantage of our Tell-A-Friend program to let others know about Infuse Energy. Here's how it works. When you enroll with us for service, we send you your very own personal promo code–no extra charge. If someone signs up to become a customer and enters your promo code, you and your friend each get a $25 credit as our way of saying "thank you" from Infuse Energy. There is no limit to the number of times you can earn the credit; however, note that the person being referred to Infuse Energy will receive the bill credit on their fourth Infuse Energy invoice. And you don't have to send it only to your friends (we won't tell)! Whenever anyone uses that code, everyone wins–or at least you and your friends win anyway. So share the love, share some cash, make friends–it’s the Infuse way.
Long story. I just need a place to stay here in the dallas area. I am 420 friendly and have two cats. Am relatively clean and keep up after myself. Cats are litter trained and good with other pets. I don't have much money to offer as this is very sudden. I don't have family that I can go back with, but I have a working car now and I'm trying to find a job. It shouldn't be too much longer now that I can actually get to interviews. I don't know what else to say man, I'm really laid back and I'd really appreciate helping me out of this bind.
I am hoping there is someone out there that can help me. I am having to go in for surgery next week that will require about 8-10 weeks of recovery time in which I will be unable to work (or do much of anything) I am having to give up my rental home and have no where for my dog Baily (http://imgur.com/a/yLIrV) to stay. I have had her for 10 years, since she was a six week old puppy, so I have no desire or intention to give her away, I just need a good, loving temporary home for her while I have this surgery and recover. I understand the imposition this can be on someone, and know this is a long shot, but I am desperate. Because of the length of recovery time my job is not going to be held for me so after I am able I will have to find new employment then get a new place, I am estimating about three months to get back on my feet and able to care for my dog. I can provide food for her as well as her toys, dog bed etc. She is a very loving and friendly Lab mix. She has spent plenty of time around other animals and children without any issue. Someone on a different site suggested a GoFundMe, to pay for a long term boarding place, but I'm not really sure about that.....If you would be able or willing to help, or if you know of anything that might be helpful to my situation please let me know. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
If you grew up in Texas you've probably been to a bonfire or two growing up. The warm, inviting magic of a bonfire brings us joy and happiness. Its a satisfaction that cannot truly be expressed. The bonfire is the embodiment of this beautiful place we call home. I realize Texas has great chains like Whataburger and P. Terry's but we seem to inevitably find our way back to McDonald's. Well, they have presented us with a challenge to create/name the official burger of Texas. I took on this challenge with pride and The Bonfire was born. Help me make my burger the official burger of Texas by voting once a day till April 15th, 2016. I will be using the award money to further my education. It only takes two seconds to vote. Thank you in advance!!! :)
Edit: Taken care of, thank you.
Hi, i want to go to six flags later this day, do someone knos how can i get a discount, the coca cola discount no longer works, and we really want to go. Help me out please :)
My neighbors were recently robbed, not just once, but twice. They're a lovely family: a single mother with three children, an 8 year old boy, a 14 year old girl with autism, and a 16 year old girl as well. The 8 year old boy is my particular friend: he's outgoing, smart, and friendly to everyone! The kind of kid that helps you carry your groceries up the stairs, gave my cat a home made valentine gift, and who encourages all the other kids to come out and play all the time.
The robberies were pretty scary for the whole family. The first time the oldest daughter interrupted the robbery while it was in process so they didn't take everything. The second time, they kicked in the door and finished the job. Mattresses were flipped; clothes were removed from drawers; they even went through the pantry and stole kids cereal. In the wake of the robberies the whole family has been on edge. The boy has had nightmares and everyone is scared for their safety.
The real kicker is that the thieves stole most of the Christmas gifts for the kids and the mother is very distraught about trying to replace essentials, improve their safety, AND pay for Christmas again. The other neighbors and I have gotten together to help get them some things for Christmas, but I was wondering if anyone here has any of the following available they would be willing to donate to this family for their Christmas gifts. Used and gently used items are perfect! I'm happy to pick them up from a public location anywhere in the DFW metroplex area and to wrap them myself. I'd buy more but I'm on a budget too. If there's anything that doesn't work for the family or they already have I'll take it to the Metrocrest Holiday Toy Drive.
The family would be thrilled to find any of the following under their tree: -Legos (any used kits?)-- the whole family builds legos together -The boy loves firemen, police, army men, and nerf guns -The 16 year old is a huge Marvel fan -The 14 year old is really into Anime/Manga and Star Wars -The mom's had a hard time and I'm sure she'd appreciate a nice scented candle or something like that. -TV: Their TV was stolen along with their game station and games
Thanks for reading! I also posted this on r/Dallas.
TLDR: Neighbors (single mom and 3 kids) robbed, trying to find toys and gifts for kids for Christmas, all donations accepted
