WARNlNG - LONG POST
Here are some questions that supporters of Maryland Football need to seriously ask themselves this offseason:
What are the expectations for the program? Do we want to be Michigan/Ohio St/Alabama? Does it not matter as long as we beat Penn State? Or should we accept that, in most seasons, we will be in the bottom half of the Big Ten standings?
If you want Terps football to be a player nationally - how much $$$ is the fanbase and/or alumni willing to donate to make those expectations a reality? Keep in mind two things:
a) Feeding the NIL beast will not be cheap . b) Kevin Plank isn't a unlimited ATM machine.
Does the football stadium need to be replaced and/or renovated?
For those that think that Mike Locksley/Damon Evans are the problem: Who are you replacing them with? What organizational changes need to be made to make the football program more competive (keep in mind question #2 before answering)?
I ask these questions because I read plenty of articles and social media posts bemoaning that we are a "basketball school" yet people constantly bitch about not being able to beat the top teams in the conference (I use "conference" because these same complaints are made as a B1G member AND when we were in the ACC).
Great recruiter. Ability to bond with his players. Great person and gives back to the community.
Underperforming head coach. Lacks the ability to teach players discipline. Team always seems under prepared..
I am not saying fire him, but changes need to be made to improve. Status quo will not get a bowl game in 2025, even with a new class of recruits.
Is it worth it to grab a parking permit or is there a free way to park?
Once again PSU not only beats the Terps but completely blows them out again, as they usually do. At the end-of-the-game handshake, Locksley had words with James Franklin as PSU threw a TD pass on 4th down at the very end of the game despite being up by 30.
I know Franklin is still upset at the Terps backing out on their promise to make him the Head Coach after he was named the "coach in waiting" after Ralph stepped down. I personally think that is the motivation for why he runs the score up whenever they play the Terps.
Franklin said that he had his 3rd/4th string in the game when the Terps still had their starters in, and he wanted them to actually compete rather than just go through the motions. He also said that "point differential" is now a factor for ensuring a team makes the CFB playoffs.
I don't like Franklin's cocky attitude, but I can understand his frustration. Plus he is correct, the Terps still had some starters in deep into the game, when PSU had their backups in, so it's not like the Terps were waiving the White Flag. In that sense, even though it was a little bush to score late, Mike has to coach his kids up to fight to the end.
Just a bad all around season for the Terps, ending with being blown out by PSU once again. PSU is now 44-3-1 all-time vs. the Terps. I don't know that there is any CFB team that has dominated another team that badly.
Terps are 32.5 point favorites.
Terps are 25 point underdogs. All I'm asking for is a competitive first half.
Terps are 23.5 point favorites
Terps are 6.5 point favorites
Terps are 6.5 point underdogs. I'd be surprised if they score 10 points.
This is the third and final appearance on B1G+. Make sure to cancel your subscription after the game! Terps are 30.5 point favorites.
I don’t care who he’s fucking bringing in next year, no one should be subjected to his coaching at this point.
I need this man off my team.
terps are 4.5 point favorites.
i plan to be in CP for the game
terps are 2.5 point favorites
The team is 3-0 and looks incredible but the arena has been empty thus far. Truly hoping the Terps gets a full show of support tomorrow 🙏
What’s our thoughts on Locksley?
Terps are 33.5 point favorites. They've won each game this season by 30+. Can they make it a 3rd? Let's see if we can get a different player to shine.
Terps are 23.5 point dogs. Thinking that it should be closer to 40. But if they can stay within one score for most of the game, I'd be happy.
Terps are 23.5 point favorite. Hoping to see some reliable shooting from our guards today.
As a Seattleite I’m so excited to see our team play a couple miles from where I live! Go support the team and watch Queen takeover Huskies arena!
Terps are 24.5 favorites . Really looking forward to see how Willard plays Reese and Queen together. As for watching the game, you'll need a paid subscription to BTN+ ($13/month). My normal truck is to get a prepaid visa card, but they won't accept it. But, if you have Roku, use the prepaid card as your payment, and subscribe to BTN+ through Roku. Terps will be on BTN+ three times this month, so after the last game, I'll cancel the subscription. Good luck, and go Terps!
