Seriously I really like it!
I'd love to know what nicknames people might use to refer to the city or places in/around it.
Apart from 'the city of 72 nations' - I mean something more informal, like slang
I'm considering to visit Tehran in October. I am wondering if Alcohol situation is really that bad? I've heard from some Persian friends that some cafes in Tehran actually serve alcohol. Is that true?
Question
I'm thinking of going this summer. Most of the posts here are negative and about politics but I just want an interesting experience to tell people about afterwards. Is it cheap, safe and fun though? Am I too cynical or naive in thinking the rules about alcohol, weed, girls and nightlife are for show and there's actually lots of all the above?
