hi :) my parents moved to the area a few months while i was finishing my last year of uni. i was kinda hoping I'd make some human connection through work, but I've ended up working fully remote from my bedroom (which is a blessing but doesn't really help my problem of having lived in my bedroom for my entire life). Where's the best place to look for local groups/events? I've tried looking but I've never really tried getting myself out so I'm a bit useless so don't really know where to start haha. I'm kinda nerdy and I've been sober for quite a while so pubs and the normal young adult stuff isn't really my thing 😠I know there are board game shops and stuff but can you just waltz in and make friends?! thanks
Hello! I will be coming to Stockton-on-Tees to study at the Durham University International Study Center from January 6th to August 29th, 2025.
The student accommodations are 230£ a week (all utility bills + internet included). Im not sure about the prices in England but it is too expensive compared to dorms I've been to during my undergraduate studies.
My question is, is this price fair or should I look for a place to rent (with or without roommates)?
Thank you!
This question is insanely irrelevant but I need to settle a debate. I say it’s north ormesby, my mam and my dad say it’s ormesby. My mates say it’s a bit of a shithole but agree that it’s north ormesby. Tried googling it and that did nowt so I’m gonna ask the internet to settle my debate. Ormesby or north ormesby?
Edit : okay so either my dad is right or we’re both just wrong ðŸ˜
I need someone to open my eyes. I've been backwards and forwards with my ex. He's an abuser
Anyone aware of any jobs going? Preferably warehouse but willing to give anything a go,yes I've been on indeed & applied for any suitable jobs I could
I've seen a website for it, and Facebook stories talking about it, but the only location I can find is "just off the Guisborough road". Can anyone help?
Me and my cousins used to come and stay with my grandparents as kids, who lived in marske. We all remember going to an Italian pizza place that was nearby (we definitely drove sometimes but I feel like we walked at least once). One time we got given some raw pizza dough to take away with us. And we all remember the jar of mints on the counter when you walked in.
What we can’t remember is the name of the place, or where it was. I think it had an Italian man’s name (giovanni etc) but that’s it. Can anyone remember?
Sorry to ask ladies and gentlemen, but I'm an Irishman staying in Stokesley training for work In Middlesborough. I've no car or anything before you ask. Just wondering if anyone knows of any laundry services or are willing to wash my Clothes themselves 😂😂 Happy to pay a few quid! Training got extended by two weeks over what it was meant to be so I'm kinda stuck and the hotel doesn't offer said service.
Just ordered a parmo and had the option for Zagaroff sauce instead of Bechemel. Went down a rabbit hole looking for what the hell it actually is and cant find anything. All searches just bring up things about parmos in general or specific takeaways. Anyone know what it is?
I’ve always said the sunrises and sunsets are better around winter time
Hi im doing a small documentary project that involves interviewing a group which raises awareness/funds for social issues. If anyone know any interesting examples in the local area ( I.e. along the lines of 80s nights or animal awareness dogshows) that would be appreciated.
Hiya, recently moved to Great Ayton and looking for some furniture. What're the best Charity Shops in Teesside for furniture specifically? I'm looking for an older/antique display cabinet and other storage furniture. I've already looked at Facebook marketplace a bunch. Cheers
