My name is Mo, and I'll be hosting this year's spring/summer traveling tea box!

~This is my first year hosting, so please don't be afraid to let me know if something isn't working properly~

For those who haven't participated in a TTB exchange: A TTB is basically a big box of tea that gets sent around to a group of people in a postal ring. you get a change to sample some new teas, add your favorites to your collections, and share others that maybe being appreciated enough in your home.

Overview and rules:

Sign ups will close Sunday, April 28th.

When you receive the box, send me a dm so that I can update the progress thread. Take a few days to sample anything in the box. Once you're finished sampling, keep anything you like, donate at least and equal amount to what you kept, and then send it to the next person on the list. Please respect the other participants by keeping the box moving in a timely fashion (within 7 days of receiving).

After you've sent the box, please dm me the tracking number.

And please post updates in the official progress thread and include photos! We all want to see the teas that are getting added, and it makes this exchange much more engaging.

Selling any of these teas, plus a load of white, green, black, heicha etc as well as more Sheng and Shou puer. Baught a tong of this tea when I was first getting into puerh and had money to blow. It's a great tea and I still come back to it often, but I got way too much. I've had it since 2019 inside a tong sealed in plastic. Just broke the tong open a week ago and I'm selling 4 of the 7 cakes. I'm moving to Japan in August so I'm limited on how much tea I can keep, sadly.

A Sage Teaware (pretty famous) 250g cake vase, holds 8 cakes. Also, a stone fired porcelain gaiwan I bought from a really friendly old man in Taiwan. Got to see the kiln he fired it in and everything. I might keep this if no one buys it.

I am someone who enjoys loose leaf teas without sugar or honey. My personal favorites are oolong, black and jasmine tea.

I will coordinate if there are no volunteers, but would love to take a break this year!

Please excuse my ignorance, as I'm new to this sub. I've done some digging in this sub to find protocols/rules about posts and comments but have been unable to find anything. So, any guidance would be helpful!

I'll be looking to submit a "For Sale" post in the coming weeks and want to make sure I have my ducks in a row. Also, I'd like to know how to engage with interested parties and would appreciate some recommendations for how sales/exchanges should be handled (i.e., paypal, venmo, cash, check, etc.). Lastly, if I see a post with something I'm interested in, do I just PM the OP? Then, we'd hash out the details from there?

Hi teaexchange! I'm decluttering my teaware inventory and have decided to let the following pots go:

[SOLD] 1) Duo Qiu

Early 2010s pot made by the 'Shouzhen Workshop,' which used to have a Western-facing outlet. More info on this maker can be found here: https://www.teachat.com/viewtopic.php?t=9484.

Style: Duo Qiu.

Clay: Di Cao Qing (Zi Ni).

Capacity: 170 ml.

Lid fit: very good, no dribbles.

Filter: standard non-ball.

Sadly, I've had to reduce my caffeine intake, so the 170 ml capacity of this pot has become too much for me. But without a doubt, this is the best Yixing pot I've owned. The craftsmanship is stunning, and the clay is simply exceptional. You can brew plain water in this pot and it comes out tasting sweet and full.

Price: 90 USD.

[SOLD] 2) De Zhong

Another early 2010s pot here.

Style: De Zhong.

Clay: Golden Jiang Po Ni (naturally occuring mixture of Hong Ni, Zi Ni and Duan Ni - more info here: https://mudandleaves.com/blogs/teatime/jiangponi-new-kid-on-the-block).

Capacity: 175 ml.

Lid fit: very good, no dribbles.

Filter: standard non-ball.

Note that the edge of the lid has been chipped slightly, although this doesn't affect use at all. For this reason I'm letting the pot go at a low price.

Price: 50 USD (open for offers).

[SOLD] 3) Shui Ping

This was sold to me as a 1980s authentic "Please Drink Chinese Oolong Tea" series Factory 1 pot. Now apparently this series has been widely faked, and I do not have the expertise to determine if this is the case here. What I can say, though, is that this is a very decent pot made from good quality clay. The medium-low-fired Hong Ni brews a great pot of puerh or, indeed, oolong.

Style: Shui Ping.

Clay: Hong Ni.

Capacity: 70 ml.

Lid fit: decent (slight dribble when poured aggressively; pretty average for mass-produced pots IME).

Filter: single hole.

Price: 50 USD (open for offers).

Hi all I'm just getting into tea but my setup is atrocious. I'm on a tight budget but if anyone has a set they don't like or a teapot or gaiwan cup there willing to sell I'd love to buy it.

Right now consist of me pouring tea into paper coffee cups and straining them with a mesh sieve lol.
