Hey y’all, I’ve been an ardent reader of this sub for quite some time. Since last May I am a proud owner of a 4S and apart from a few small quirks a very happy camper.
I have an opportunity to purchase a set of 22“ Vossen wheels with summer tires, for what I consider a reasonable price. I’ve been reading a lot of cautious comments regarding range vs rim diameter- mostly on 21“ rims though. Anyone here with 22“ that can give a piece of advice- what is the consensus on such large rims? Any input is appreciated!
Driver profile aligns with mostly urban areas, and an occasional 2k miles or so road trip.
Starting to look at getting a used Taycan. Cursory look seems like the best deals right now are for '21s. Any years to stay away from? Any big differences between certain years?
Hello,
I’ve been having a creaking sound in my car for about 4 months now. It’s coming from the passenger side where the dashboard and windshield meet. I took it to the dealer, but my advisor said they don’t fix creaking sounds under warranty. Has anyone else had this issue? If so, how did you get it fixed? I’d really appreciate any advice you can give me. Thanks in advance!
Can’t find the earlier thread, someone had asked about the feature to plan EV charging stops using Apple Maps and CarPlay. There was a question if Apple Maps will activate battery pre-conditioning for charging stops. I opened a ticket with Porsche Connect support, and one of the charging specialists in Atlanta responded. As of now, the answer is no:
Thank you for contacting Porsche Cars North America regarding an issue with Apple Maps EV Routing. …
Apple Maps EV Routing does not allow battery pre-conditioning. Pre-conditioning with routing is only available via PCM Navigation.
Recommendation for phone holder for Porsche taycan?
What dashboard camera is recommended on a Porsche taycan?
Any products in Europe?
Any settings recommended to turn on or off in the taycan?
If tyre pressure deviation shows +0.3 doe it mean I need to add or remove 0.3 bar of air from my tyre?
Is it best end of year or first few months of 2025?
Also, any best practices to find a deal? Use AI search for country wide deals?
Any help is appreciated 👍🏻
My dolomite-silver Taycan came with mission-e wheels with "Satin Platinum".
While I like the paint color, it doesn't have any contrast to body paint color. So I wrapped the circumference with white vinyl wrap to get the idea of how it looks.
WDYT looks best? Please vote.
p.s. all photos were taken in different lighting.
I've been eyeing the Porsche Taycan for a couple of years and am finally gearing up to buy a used Taycan Base or 4S. Next week, I’ll be renting one on Turo to get some hands-on experience before making the decision.
Some context: I have two kiddos under three, so the backseat space is a slight concern. However, we do have an R1S that serves as our primary family vehicle. The Taycan would be my daily driver, with the kids occasionally tagging along. I’m currently coming from a Model 3, so I’m already accustomed to a more compact setup.
My main question is for those who bought a used Taycan from a non-Porsche dealer without a CPO warranty. Example, I found a Neptune Blue 4S with 28K miles listed at $61K. Carfax and service records show it's in good shape and has no major issues.
Could anyone shed some light on how Porsche handles warranties? From my understanding, Taycans come with a 4-year/50K warranty and an 8-year/100K battery warranty. For a 2021 model, that would mean the standard warranty is close to expiring, but there’s still some runway left on the battery coverage.
I’d really appreciate any feedback or advice from those who’ve bought a used, non-CPO Taycan. Thanks a lot!
How can I find out the correct bar pressure for my 20-inch winter tires? Does the brand or type of tire, like Michelin Sport 4 or Nokian Hakkapelitta, affect the recommended pressure? Also, should the bar pressure be the same for winter and summer tires?
I’m in Norway, so colder weather is on the way, and I want to make sure my tires are properly inflated for winter.
Is there a way to disable brake hold?
Hate the feature and the feeling of the pedal seeming to move out from under my foot or being stuck.
Hi all. I am planning on buying a used taycan next year. Around the 60k mark. I am planning to put 20k down. Any advice. Also what is the average salary range of a usual taycan owner. I want to know if i am way out of my league. Thanks in advance
Almost ready to pull the trigger for a 22 or 23 models. I spend about 1-3 hours a day in my car and was curious if it’s comfortable enough for those time periods? My Macan S is extremely comfortable.
Hey, boys, I have been talking with this dealer for a few days. Here is the deal I committed to.
Also on the table is a 12-month lease with the same money down with a 921/month payment. I am leaning towards the 24-month lease. 12 months seems too short to me. Am I crazy to pay 80 more a month to ensure another 12 months?
What do you all think?
Folks I have been considering getting back into a Taycan 4s. Unfortunately I had a real bad experience on my first one(it was also my last one....to date) everything went wrong with it. Lighting fault, sensors all over the place went faulty and at the end the on board charger went bang. However even after all these issues, I still would love another one if it were more reliable. Could you all give me some feedback on how your cars have been. Especially the 4s as this is the one I will be going for. Thanks for your input
I’m a big fan of the Taycan, and I’m thinking of purchasing a CPO one or two-year old model. One issue is that I currently have a 1 year old and will likely soon have a second. My concern is car seat fit.
Has anyone tried fitting two rear-facing car seats? How snug is it, and is it practical given the space up front?
Considering a 997 or maybe earlier 991. $70k range. But then who doesn’t love the much lower fuel and maintenance costs of an EV? Ownership-wise, I think any of them should be extremely satisfying.
My concern with the Taycan will be, even if I’m getting it for substantially under the new price, where will it go in the future? The 911’s, when taken care of, have proven themselves to hold their value. But so far no EV ever has.
You guys all have a crystal ball, right? (Or at least a pretty good Magic 8 Ball?)
First off, I cannot think of moving to any other car after having Taycan 4S since last 2 years.
We have the Lamborghini Urus S 2023 and Porsche Taycan 4S 2022 both in garage, but we hardly drive the urus at all. Also in Dubai, you cannot drive fast at all, anything beyond 120kmph, you instantly get a 150$ close speed ticket!
So, Im trying to decide what to do!
I have 3 options :
Just extend the warranty on Taycan 4S and stay with it, because I absolutely love my full config and there is no way I want to get back to any car without massaging seats of porsche and the pin point accurate adaptive cruise control with lane lock.
2nd option is - trade in the taycan 4S and get a 911 Carrera Cabriolet as wife wants a convertible in the garage as I had BMW z4 2021 when I was in India and she absolutely loved it. But im not sure, if I would go for this downgrade.
3rd option is - going all in and getting a fully loaded turbo S latest 2025 model when it comes out in march 2025, but the delivery time for that would be close to 18 months in Dubai, so thats a long wait.
So what do you think would be a wise choice ?
Also has anyone gone from taycan to 911 turbo S or 911 Carrera Cabriolet and wants to share their views and feedback ?
Got a smoking deal on a 2024 4S. Absolutely love it. First Porsche ever. Glad to be part of the club.
