Hi. This is my first coloured tattoo on a human being and to be honest i need advice on the colours. The client will be coming back to me for a small rework because the colours kinda messed up. We did discuss it (changes from my original flash) but ultimately I wanna do right by the client.
How do i change this to a brighter, minty green rather than this neon (it seems to too olive)? Will see her in 6~8 weeks for the rework
Hello! Baby tattoo apprentice here, just starting to post my art online. Had so much fun designing these Halloween flashes, the lil devil has to be my personal fave~
CC is always welcome <3
Hello! I live in PHX AZ and I just lost my job to corporate greed. I've been applying to jobs but nothing has been called so I'm wondering if this is a sign to pursue something else
I am an artist, I can draw and I sell at comic conventions and do pretty well however I need something daily. I was interested in tattoos but I had a full time job so didn't have time to learn.
Drawing and designing isn't an issue for me just learning the ropes as I am starting from zero.
Is it possible to start now or would you recommend?
Hi everyone. Im a tattoo apprentice going into my third month of tattooing on skin. My month of September and October booked really well while I was still under $100 for a tattoo. But I’ve since increased my rate to $80 min $150 max and I’ve noticed a huge decrease in inquires :( even though I find that $150 is still cheap for a 6-7 inch tattoo!
Does this happen to everyone? Is it just the tattoo market (as everyone says)? Is it bc people are saving for Christmas time? Can I do anything to try and get more clients? Paid ads?
done with acrylic inks on Arches, and stained with coffee

So, I’ve never been a huge fan of traditional tattoo’s. Yes, I know it’s blasphemous. However since it seems like a right of passage I wanted to add a couple pieces to my portfolio. Any advice welcome. Thanks
i am a 17 year old artist wanting to become a tattoo artist. however i have recently started suffering with repetitive strain injuries on my dominant hand all the way to my shoulder. will this affect my career? does anyone else struggle with this problem?
Yeah, title question.
I want to add some healed tattoos on my portfolio and my mom is letring me tattoo a butterfly on her. How would you improve this? Keep in mind im still starting so I would mostly like advice that keeps it simple yet stylish :)
Over pretty happy with the individual drawings, but I am struggling with colour, and composition on the sheet
Thanks!
I have been tattooing for about 6 months and had an episode a few weeks ago after about a 5 hr tattoo where my thumb went numb and my hand kinda gave out(got weak) I swapped to a rotary style machine to try to be easier on my hand, implemented breaks/stretching, and I started working on hand strength outside of work. Everything seemed to be going well. I did a 6 hr tattoo last weekend and started to struggle a little in the last 30 minutes but was okay. My thumb and hand was a little sore during the week but not terrible. Then this weekend I started a tattoo and maybe 20 minutes in my hand starts struggling again, weak and can’t seem to hold the machine steady and aching and shaky. I had to stop the tattoo for fear of messing it up and am very grateful another artist was able to step in despite the fact I felt horrible. I feel like I can’t trust my body and I don’t know what else to do with my hand. Has any artists or apprentices had a similar issue and found a fix? I really don’t want to give this up, I’ve been an apprentice for almost 2 years now and tattooing for 6 months. It’s something I’ve wanted for years and worked hard for, but I can’t help feeling like a liability if I can’t trust my own body to work with me.
Finished shading this cure flash sheet, and I'm having trouble deciding if I wanna color it or leave it b&w, I don't have much b&w in my portfolio but I worry it looks unfinished without it. What would you do?
I'll probably try to do a cleaner version soon, before I do is there any major design flaws?
First apprentice tattoo! How’d I do?👇🏾
