after being told to basically just “suck it up and come to work, we all get sick and still come in” i quit! i asked a few coworkers about it and they were just like “yeah thats how it is” that’s insane to me

im only 18, in school, and being told that if i take more than one day off without a two weeks notice that i wil get a “strike” is pitiful. i can’t predict being sick 2 weeks in advance.

this would be my first (and last for a while.) corporate job, i immediately ran back to my old place of work with managers who actually cared about their employees. target is a shitshow with people who are too scared to say that it’s isnane that you can get fired over one day out. they don’t care about their “team”.

I ordered an ipad from target and had it delivered, they took 70 extra dollars for substitutions and said it'd be given back after the delivery but it was delivered yesterday and hasn't been returned.

this is THE #1 most annoying question I get when working. Not "do you work here?" when I'm in my Target vest actively working, not "where are the carts?" when they're standing ten feet away from the cart area, not "do these registers work?" when there are extremely visible "Self-Checkout Is Currently Closed" signs all over.

Ma'am/sir, I'm the manager of the front end. I don't know jack shit about the ordering process of any items. The cashier that's only front-end trained that's standing next to me that you'll ask when I say "I don't know, that's not my department" will have the exact same answer. It says "out of stock, location not found" and the price is set to $0.00. We're never getting this item. Please stop getting pissed when I say that we can't ship it to our store. Our specific store has never once had this option.

So I was really sick in the past 2 days. I tried to come into work yesterday but I only lasted about 53 minutes before I had to clock out. I sold my ETL about it and told him that even some customers were concerned about me, and he said okay, yeah, go home. I still feel sick today but I'm worried because this is technically my third day calling off work. Should I be worried? Do you think the fact that I tried to come in yesterday changes things? I've been doing my best to not call in or be tardy, I'm even more stressed since it's holiday and they need me and I need the money, idk what to do though.

We don't have any employee-only bathrooms at my store so we have to use the ones open to the public. These bathrooms are genuinely some of the most disgusting that I've ever seen in my life. I'd rather use a bathroom in Grand Central Station they're so bad- human sh*t smeared on the walls that doesn't get cleaned, overflowing toilets, mystery liquids in the sinks. It's so bad that I don't drink water before or during my shifts anymore just so I don't have to use them. If I do end up needing to pee, I'll just try to hold it for the whole 8-hour shift or find a coffee shop bathroom during my meal if it's really bad. I'm going to get a UTI if I keep doing this lmao but these bathrooms are genuinely unusable. I feel bad complaining because we're a big store with only one bathroom and I know cleaning it is a shitty job but I can't take it anymore 😭 Who would I ask about this, HR?

So I have not gotten any Price changes for bullseyes playground/dollar spot for like the past 2 weeks. My Leader is saying I'm not doing them, and this morning when I came in, she said over half of it is salvage or clerance. And this is the second time this has happened, I don't know what is going on. How soon can you call CA via the app? If your shift starts at like 5am for instance? Do you have to wait until midnight before you can or could I do so the night before?

I’m so fucking sick of this chick. Okay so regularly when I come in to run the evening team there is 8 ship carts at 1:30 and TLs, ETLs and the god damn SD picking. I’m the little captain, pace setter, TL junior whatever you call it I run fulfillment at night. The problem here is I don’t have these problems at night or even when it’s me running shit in the morning. Another thing is she will have 5 people picking and no one packing till all the carts are full and when the carts are full you’ll have tms standing there doing nothing and not helping pack. I’m tired of cleaning up her mess. I asked her to talk today when we had plenty of coverage and she did everything to dodge that conversation. I doubt she’s on Reddit or this sub but A.P. if are here you suck at your job I fucking hate you and I can’t wait for you to leave.

So i’m at a target that’s strict with attendance and so far i’ve been on time for every single shift for the past 6 months, i’ve only called out once and on top of that i’m a college student….with finals and exams coming up i need this day to study. I want to call in tmr and use my sick time, issue is i have 4 hours of sick time to cover my 5 hour and 30 minute shift. Will my call-out still get excused? will i still get in trouble? (i’m also scheduled on drive-up. and if it matters on cyber-monday😀)

I work in style and have been for 3~ years and the only thing keeping me from thinking I'm doing okay is the thought that "they haven't fired me yet" but I stg i feel like I do such a shitty job in this department. to the point where I just feel useless and guilty. i couldn't get pulls done at all bc it was too high and I couldn't push and pull them all especially because I was helping out in fulfillment for my last hour. and well yeah I was supporting other departments but i just wonder like my team lead must hate me cuz this shit always seems to happen with me 🤦 idk maybe it's just my anxiety talking. since style isn't rlly based on metrics most of the time it's hard to feel like I'm doing an okay job. style just leaves me thinking I'm an awful worker.. idk. it's just a job innit.
