coming from a fulfilment tm, your jobs are not easy. i worked in inbound for the last 4 and a half hours of my shift to help catch up with freight and, man, i was tired by the end of it. lots of heavy lifting for sure. and you're rushing to push a uboat, backstock, and clean up your cardboard without taking too long. thanks to all the amazing inbound tms at my store who also help is fulfillment when we're swamped. it's very much appreciated
guys im getting my wisdom teeth out the 15th and is recommended not to work or anything the day after but its too late it doesnt have an option for unpaid time off now and i dont know what to do. should i just ask hr or my team lead when i go in next? or do i just tough it out and just work no matter how i am or how swollen i look ? 😭
These had only been set for 1 day. I hate it here
So I transferred to a new location across the country about a month ago, and my god it is a complete mess. They have a very shitty way of getting things done, like essentially having to do inbound and zone an entire area for a CLOSING shift, is impossible, especially since there seems to be a huge overflow of inventory, and a lot of products not being in the right location. I literally get anxiety up until I have to go to my closing shift, because the way the store is ran and managed is overwhelming asf, I’m used to working in a small target that was managed to the critique, even tho they ran us like the navy, I’m gonna be honest, I miss it. Anyways my question is since I have 2 years of status and I wanna say about 30 hrs of sick time, is it possible if I can just put my 2 weeks in, unless I’m on a 90-day probation since I just transferred. I really wanna keep my status if I want to return to target one day, I’m thinking it’ll be my if shit hits the fan job.
I thought the app was supposed to not allow double taps on Oct 29? Definitely still getting double taps at my store ...
Hey guys, I just wanted to ask… Has someone seen this today at your store?
Is this can a collector’s edition because DAYUM 👀
When are we able to pick up overtime? Im currently get 39 hours. I wouldnt mind getting over 40
I put in a time off request and it was denied but I’ve no plans to go if they do end up scheduling me that day because I will be 250+ miles away. I put it in about a month in advance so what I’m wondering is what will be the consequences if any. (Btw I’m past my 90 days) also is it advised to try again or go talk to someone about it?
This might sound like a silly question but I am new-ish and my phone died last night while I was sleeping and I missed my shift because my alarm didn’t go off, as soon as I got my phone to 1% charge after I woke up I called them and explained everything and even offered to come in and stay late, they told me nothing could be done and that they’d see me tomorrow. I know I’ll probably get written up, but since I’m new is it more likely for them to fire over something like that than if I was working there longer?
need him to hop on opu fr
To Whom It May Concern: Target, can you please, PLEASE, stop playing Christmas music so da*nm early?! Start playing it in DECEMBER, when it's actually Christmas! Two months of it is waaaaayyyy too much! Thanks.
Next week i have a shift that i was originally fine for but suddenly something came up and ill need to leave an hour before its finished, (Originally a 6AM- 2:30) GM. What should i do here. im worried that if i talk to an ETL and they say no, i no longer have the emergency call in sick card.
What is going on ??? Like we’ve received insane amounts of freight, we’re sitting at 15-20 pallets of breakout like every single day. It’s insane like so much is coming in and our floor is packed especially with hanging we have like no uphang space to backstock most of the hanging. Is it gonna calm down soon? Don’t even get me started on the insane amounts of Wondershop/Family sleep that came in.
Plus two of the goat formula and three of the toddler formula. There goes my ship stats for the month 🫠
im a minor working seasonal in nyc. was wondering if I could ask for more hours during Thanksgiving break since im off that entire week (just for the week of break ofc) Just want to know if HR could bypass the restrictions since target is strict especially given in New York, but I'm off from school so I wouldn't mind working extra those couple days. Thanks
Walked into my store this morning at 7am to that god awful sia puppy song and immediately wanted to put my head into a wall
I’ve been working style for 3 years now. Recently our SD and Etl changed and they have me doing reshop for 4-5 hours straight . I’m short and I have to do a lot reaching up to grab things off the upper z rack and most items are hung high. I’ve been getting a lot of shoulder pain recently from this repetition. Does anyone have any advice how to keep the pain from happening? We used to just do reshop for one certain area so it wasn’t constant for hours and didn’t cause so much pain.
I’m new to being a TL (Kinda, since September)
So far, I hate it. I work at a super target which is my states highest volume store and it’s been so draining.
I’m in specialty but I typically oversee style. But we are all accountable for specialty freight. However, the freightfor the entire store is insane right now. We have 13 pallets in the back of style alone.
With specialty TMs literally only scheduled four hours, realistically everything has been falling on TLs & the ETLs will make sure of that. We don’t even have coverage for our men’s lockup cases from 1pm to 6-7pm. Because the last person in specialty which are style pushers leave at that time.
Aside from that, team members are burnt out and aren’t working like I know they can. I HATE having to tell them I need them to work with urgency (my ETL will otherwise berate us (TLs) even though they made the schedule).
Overall, I don’t mind hoping in to push or sort but it’s hard when you’re constantly being pulled around to help guests or when ETLs tell you to do other things.
Aside from that, our closers come in at 6 or 7. Since our last pushers leave at 1 the fitting room isn’t touched and the floor isn’t zoned. Even then when they are there the main priority is push so no one touches the FR or Gobacks. Even if I try to help before they get there, we’re still behind because we get bombarded with so many go backs it’s crazy.
The other day a TM told me leads don’t do a thing and while I agree with certain leads not being helpful, I honestly know I try my best to show the team I’m with them. I know and remember what it feels like to be a team member having leads annoying me and I hate to know I’m one of those now and it’s like — I struggle with being chill but also being able to delegate certain tasks without worrying if they’ll start to resent me.
I just, I don’t know what to do. Especially with the holidays coming up.
Really, I’m just done with target as a whole. I’m trying to make it until February/March so I can have my 6 months of experience for my resume and then leave and finally try and find a job within my degrees field.
Over all, any tips or advice? Thank you.
I’m going to be moving about 20 minutes away from where I’m currently working as a cashier, and there is a target literally across the street from the new place, approximately a two minute walk. I would obviously rather work at the one closer to home. Do I start with my HR person? Or my store director? Or do I go in and talk to someone at the new store? How does this work?
Hi all, I’m a customer who’s gotten into the habit of using the drive up feature. Mainly because my local Target’s stock info isn’t always accurate and too many times I’ve gone into the store only to see that the items I need are out of stock (this is not a complaint on teammates that’s a management issue).
Drive up does help me save time, but I feel so weird using it. It’s crazy to me that there’s no extra charge for someone to do my shopping for me. And there’s no option to tip!
From reading posts here I see the biggest issue is customers double tapping and I make sure to mark that in on my way before I leave my house. But I still feel gross, like I know it’s a free feature offered but it feels like I’m just adding to worker frustrations.
So what are your experiences? Is drive up a massive headache and you rue the day it was started? Or is it just another job task and I should stop overthinking it? (Or a secret third thing?)
Update: thank you for your responses! I will try to feel less bad and continue to make sure to notify I’m on my way before I leave 🫡
she’s back 😞
A TL told me this was company wide starting today. I work dry grocery but now when FDC truck comes we have to help push frozen/dairy/meat.
Just wondering if other stores already do this or are going to start doing it.
Good morning! Thank you everyone for your responses to my questions over the past few days ◡̈ I am being transferred internally and the new position requires a background check. Thursday at 10:30am I got an email from Target WorkDay that I would receive another email from Accurate “soon” with a link to the background check.
Now it’s 8:10am on Friday and still no email. Not in junk. How long does it normally take to receive? I’m paranoid that I might have accidentally deleted it. Appreciate any insight / way to check!
I have track meets and im under 18. Im also gonna start the 90 days thats why im asking how lenient they are and if they’ll schedule me somewhere else on those days
Didn’t waste time before throwing on the Christmas playlist, huh?
TLDR
Was given a CA for a known (by HR, management and TLs) attendance hurdle concerning my vehicle, alongside having covid and a family member passing. Is there somewhere I can find this documented?
For context, I recently turned 18 and will be graduating high school in June. This would be my first job if hired. I’ve got pretty bad anxiety disorder which prevents me from leaving the house some days, so being able to pick hours is ideal for me.
Is it even worth applying? Should I try and brave through another position and see if I can eventually move to on demand?
