Any examples of shared lore between the games?
One I know of in Tales of Phantasia on snes, known earliest mention of Lord Maxwell in the series before Tales of Xillia has you play as Milla Maxwell (who I think is serving as the host for Maxwell)
Always found that connection interesting.
Hi, sorry for asking a question which has no doubt been answered by the many in game tooltips that appear, but I have mostly skipped them and almost 10 hours in, realise I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing
Can anyone please recommend a good guide or a place to look up just the very basics? I’ve looked on YouTube and also this sub, and there’s loads of very useful stuff but it seems to be almost exclusively aimed at higher level stuff, or at least way beyond where I am (which is just mashing X & O and occasionally blocking and then wondering why the character keeps telling me to wait)
Thank you :)
hi. so I'm playing tales of arise on pc and I'm at the part where I go into pelegion. but when I enter, it doesn't trigger the cutscene. i just go into the area and there's a star there. It's the first issue I've had. I anyone has any advice, I could really use the help.
Philia's design went through quite a change from her first piece of concept art.
I do love her outfit in the first one, even though her final outfit is more befitting of a priestess.
I'm trying to load in Berseria after recently having purchased the digital version after my physical one finally capped out (RIP ten year old disc). I've been sitting here for an hour trying to load in and the timer is only going up (it was at 30 minutes left when I first clicked to load in the file). Does anyone know why and/or how I can fix this? Playing on PS4.
I saw that the game is getting Digital Deluxe Edition with Artbook/Soundtrack and bonus stuff. That’s really cool buut.. As a physical games collector i’m a bit disappointed that there’s no information about upgrading to Deluxe Edition via DLC (just like latests Sonic games for example, you can buy physical game and later upgrade to Deluxe).
Do you think they will lock bonus stuff to this version only or maybe there will be an upgrade hopefully?
Lately, I’ve been addicted to playing Tales of Hearts R on the Playstation Vita. I bought my copy from NextLevel in Saskatoon back late August 2024. I first started playing back in October 2024 and now I am stuck on the second boss with Chalcedony with his two lackeys, Pyrox and Peridot at the Prinseur Sanctum Cathedral. tried to post this question on GameFaqs, but I got nothing. The reason I am posting here in hopes of getting some suggestions how you guys defeated Chalcedony the second time in Prinseur. What suggestions do you have? Do I need to grind to a certain level? The problem here is that I keep getting my ass kicked over and over again! And it’s not even the final boss yet! I also have the game set on the lowest difficult setting, yet I am still struggling. I’ll try some of your suggestions in the comments.
I'm about 4 hours in just arrived at the highroad to go back to Fennmont, is this a good game for Tales newcomers? I tried symphonia in the past and didn't enjoy it very much but the combat and story in this game already has me hooked. Any tips to give me early so I don't struggle early game? I seem to have the TP Link combos and comboing (highest is like 37 hits?) down and the levelling system is close enough to a sphere grid where I feel comfortable but i'm kinda just winging it. edit: also when does the story flip on it's head I heard this is a trope with some of the Tales games as it's very cliche right now, not that im not enjoying it.
Does anyone have some? I was looking around, but couldn't actually find any. Preferably the entire cast, or just Eizen. I'm in the final hour of the game, and I can say that I'm walking away from the game a changed person with many many feelings, despite it being my forth Tales game. (Abyss/Zestiria/Vesperia) Eizen stole my heart, and I would really love to show him off on my desktop!
Thanks so much for the assistance! ♥ Much love, fellow Tales nerds!!
Even though I’ve beaten the game many times, I’ve never done a play through on the hardest difficulty. My main concern is deciding between 2x EXP and 10x EXP. Ten sounds a bit excessive, but i really don’t know how difficult it really is — especially since I plan on fighting Abyssion. Any tips or things to know before hand would be nice. I know the Yuan / Botta fight will make me pull my hair out, but what other fights are obnoxious? Do enemies use Mystic Artes / Hi-Ougi’s?
I was gonna start up Tales of Berseria again and I noticed it has Denuvo. Has it always had it? The other tales games don't
Having just beaten Tales of Destiny DC, and really dug Mary, esp. gameplay-wise, I can pose a question. The Tales games I've beaten cover just about all the redheads (as in orange/ginger hair)! So on for the battle for redhead supremacy: who is best female redhead? Both in anime and in-game, they must have orange (redhead) hair. The contenders are:
Mary Argent - Tales of Destiny (both PSX & PS2)
Eleanor Hume - Tales of Berseria
I played the game on the gamecube and loved it when i was a teen, and i saw that the game has been remasted on the switch. I read that it was not done well - did they ever release a patch and fix the problems? Or should I just buy it on xbox instead?
Thanks!
I've always loved seeing how RPG teams come together, especially in Tales games, where they go from zero to hero against god-like foes. poorly describe how your favorite RPG squad formed!
Hi, I have this sign photo of Tales of Symphonia Chronicles, anyone know who sign this ? My sister gave it to me Long Time ago. Thanks
Just got this game on switch and wondering why on earth would there be this kind of pack available for this game ? I mean I could easily get my characters 40 lvl higher instantly with this pack 😅🤣
My favorite is by far Presea Combatir from Tales of Symphonia. She was bullied by everyone in her town, was raised by a single parent and lost her only sibling. I can most definitely relate to this. I was also bullied, was raised by a single parent and my one and only sibling passed away. I can relate to her on a deeper level. Despite going through all that she went through, she still went on to try and create a better life for herself. Things like starting a business and trying to rebuild Ozette. She’s just an amazing character and she’s still one of my favorite video game characters of all time, even so many years later.
Least favorite: Velvet from Tales of Berseria. I want to like her, I really do, especially since she’s the main character, but I just don’t. I understand that she also got the short end of the stick. I get that she lost her brother and was basically forced into becoming a deamon, but she’s also really selfish, self centered and will throw anyone under the bus. Maybe it’s the deamon’s influence, but she’s way to “I’ll easily kill you if you get in my way.” I’m sure people will disagree with me on that. I don’t particularly like Edna either. Eizen on the other hand, is awesome. Back to Velvet, the only time I really like Velvet, is just before the scarlet night. She doesn’t get a happy ending either. Spoiler Forced to consume and be consumed for all eternity, by her own brother, is very rough. Hopefully one day Velvet and Laphicet can be happy again.
Thoughts?
Uh so I've been playing this on the side and reporting in once.
This game is so unambiguously awful in almost every sense, but Go Shiina composed the music like he was pressured on some A-lister project. It's such a damn mystery.
Probably has one of the best JRPG OSTs of all time attached to such a low budget B team game. Like almost every track is a banger that keeps you slogging through the brainless combat.
I'm playing the TOV definitive edition (first played Vesperia back around 2009 on xbox 360). I like to get very OP early. There is a lot of Synethesis items to make some really powerful stuff that you get from the definitive edition. Any recommendations on which items to make first? Some of them look very good. I forget what end game weapons/armor looks like but some of these have some high numbers. Just looking for general advice on what to make early to get the most OP.
Also, how does that Rita girl learn Tidal wave again? From what I remember all those years ago, Tidal Wave was an AOE magic spell she learned and it was super strong and could beat 99% of all encounters. Doesn't she learn it at a high level? If I use the items the definitive edition gave me to boost levels of my party, do new party gain those levels when they join the party or should I wait until I have all members before I use those level boosting items? Appreciate any advice here.
