Wanna buy this but unsure if this ps4 drum will work for ps5 rhythm festival
Hi, does anyone here know if this drum is compatible with the new taiko game for ps5? Any help is appreciated.
it’s been almost 4 months since the announcement of taiko no tatsujin arcade release in North America. There hasn’t been any official announcement by Bandai, letting us know an update if the game will have a release date to arcades across all of North America. if someone knows if it’s still coming.
What's the point in putting all these songs on the music pass if it's just a bunch of covers that sound worse than the originals. Really disappointed
Literally every single match (Rank C/B) is just a complete steamroll by the other player mashing drum rolls and getting double the amount I am somehow even though I'm hitting every PS5 controller button so hard and fast that I feel like I'm practically going to break the controller.
There's not even any skill in this, it's just play slow easy mode songs any try your hardest to not hit a single note less than perfect, then spam the hell out of the controller buttons to best the other person on drum rolls and lose almost every match - I physically can't hit the rolls faster and higher than 90 odd and the other people are just hitting 130 with ease so it's impossible to win. That's a pretty poor system for a typical average player when you've peaked at the game within the first day of even playing it because the entire online is based around nothing but drum rolls deciding a winner.
I played the other one of these games about 4 years ago on PS4 and don't remember the online being this awful.
Matchmaking is also completely nonexistent - I'm rank 150 odd and being placed with people who are in the top 20 on the leaderboard.
I've been playing Taiko for a while but noticed I'm stuck on extreme 8s, they're either resonably difficult but passable or extremely hard to where I go 'Is this actually a 9?'
My question is: is getting especially stuck around extreme 8s common or is it a sign I'm doing something wrong lmao?
Hey, i just bought taiko on steam, and installed it. When i start the game i get the screen information in japanese about TV settings, and it just stay locked on it, i get a "Perfomance" thingy up left of my screen, and the loading flower at the bottom is frozen. Am i the only one with this issue?
Everyone in online is a complete god at drumrolling compared to me I can't get anywhere. I play on ps5 with just button controls and I can't get past C rank cause I can get a full combo perfect every time but lose out on drum roll points. Ive tried every method of drumrolling I've seen and they still somehow get more.
unfortunately the ac drums (taikoforce, zhongtaiko etc) won’t work on drum festival for the ps5, so i was considering getting the official tatacon.
after watching some review videos, it seems really good out of the box without modding! anyone here have any experience with it?
Hello all, excited for the steam release and mulling getting a new set of drums. The older switch ones are on sale, but was wondering if we think the new ps5 drums will be better in some way. Any thoughts?
Games been out 24 hours and it takes like 10+ minutes to find a ranked match for me on ps5. Did nobody buy this game or something???
considering buying the new PC version, but a big factor for me is custom chart support. had anyone had any luck using custom maps for the new title?
I LOVE these games when I actually find them in arcades, and am almost definitely about to purchase this on steam.
But Im probably not going to pull the trigger on an actual drum controller until I look into whats best/available/in my price range. Is this still plenty enjoyable on keyboard/mouse, or do most players here play with a taiko controller at this point?
Hi! Some newbie questions here
I got to know the game when I was on a trip to Japan and I fell in love with the game.
I found out that the game is coming to Steam so I'll probably download it soon, but to my understanding the base game only includes some songs for every category.
Steam offers to buy the extension packs for extra money, but I saw there's something called music pass that offers to download individual songs?
I don't really understand the difference and I'm not sure if I understood correctly.
Rhythm Festival's Steam release seems to have pretty bad screen tearing no matter what settings I use. Both vsync on and off at 240fps tear as well as attempting to use my monitors adaptive sync (gsync) at 120/60fps.
Does this happen to anyone else and if it does, have you found a way to fix it?
Hi Drummers!
So, currently I'm trying to platinum Rhythm Festival, and there's a trophy for bursting 100 mallet notes, but most songs don't have nearly enough of these, do any of you know any good songs for helping me go a bit faster?
Thanks guys!
So I've read old posts about this but none of them works for me. i purchased a 7 day free trial music pass but it's stil not subscribed in my game. My switch is the only switch that i have (which is primary). the region matches, the game is from US and my account is from US.. I've tried deleted and reinstalled the game, restarted my switch. None of them works. Can anyone pls help me 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
Just started playing ranked rhythm festival on PC and I'm losing nonstop due to hitting less drumrolls than my opponent, however I'm playing on keyboard and thinking this might be an input disadvantage? Doesn't help that I'm rotating between easy and normal dif and whoever spams more just wins I guess?
Yesterday I bought the game and a 3-month Music Pass on Steam, excited to play on launch day and looking forward to using my keyboard for a new experience. However, I was disappointed to discover that, despite paying for access to over 700 songs, we're required to download each song one by one.
The lack of a "Download All" feature isn't just a minor inconvenience; it's incredibly time-consuming. To get around this, I ended up writing a Python script to simulate mouse clicks and spent more than three hours downloading each song one by one. While this workaround is effective on a PC, it's not an option for consoles, which are still forced to download each song one by one. To make matters worse, if you ever need to uninstall the game or switch to a different device, you'll be faced with re-downloading every single song again. This is frustrating for us.
I'm a Taiko fan who has supported this series on multiple platforms. A few years ago, I bought Taiko no Tatsujin: The Drum Master! on Xbox with all of its expansion packs, and a few months ago, I bought Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival on Nintendo Switch. Unfortunately, neither the Switch, nor the newly released Steam versions offer a "Download All" feature for Music Pass content. This has been a long-standing issue.
This post isn't just for myself – it's for all Taiko fans who want a smoother, more convenient experience. Let's get together and ask the developers to add a much-needed "Download All" feature for Music Pass content. If we gather enough support, maybe they'll make this improvement for everyone!
Hey guys,
Just want to see if you have any recommendations to see if this setup may work?
I wanna play Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival on PC, and I have a roland vDrum snare. Is it feasible to connect this to a Roland drum module, and then to the PC and change the setting so it works on PC?
Thanks.
Thanks to u/babuuba and his post, I got to know that the Chinese QQ group for IINE Pro Max developed their own sensitivity tool for IINE Pro MAX drum. I checked with IINE Chinese customer team and they informed me that they have never written any software for the drum so anything else you're seeing was made by third party enthusiasts.
As we all knew already, IINE Pro MAX drum comes as a plug and play drum with no settings to adjust so it is what it is out of the box. The (un)official endorsement from them is to use JoytoKey, which I think there's redditor here commented before that it didn't work well? From IINE official site, they listed an old version of JoytoKey if anyone really wants to tweak their drum.
Anyway, IINE's CS team was also kind enough to retrieve the 3rd party tool for us to use without joining the QQ group (they understand the plight of international users with QQ). So, download link below contains the file u/babuuba mentioned in his previous post. I personally translated the Chinese app title into English so any of you can refer easily:
The Joy2Key that IINE (unofficially) endorsed:

PM me anytime if the link doesn't work. I'll share the app with you again.
Note: I will only receive my drum next week. I can only attest to whether it works next week but if since we have existing users of the drum here already, please let us know if it works. Also, if any of you have problems with the drum, I don't mind being the liaison for you with IINE's Chinese CS team.
Note 2: I got the drum for less than $100 during their 11.11 promotion on Taobao. Overall cost with shipping should not be over $120 if you're living in South East Asia. For European or US citizens, I strongly recommend you to look for a shipper agent that can assist you for the shipping as this is IMO the best value Taiko drum controller you can get. Let me know if you need any help in getting from Taobao as well. Taobao can ship directly to these places if you know how.
I am waiting and no matches are appearing!
is the worse.... i'm not a fan of playing music games with the right controller cause it cost too much money or some other excuse. the controller is way too big... can some me suggest a different controller for PS5 that is not a drum (i have no room for a drum also)
I’ve always wanted to try the series out but as someone who hasn’t touched a console in years I assumed I never would. Happy to see it on Steam! Yay!!
I would love to buy the proper drum controllers but as someone new to the franchise (but not rhythm games) I am a bit unsure if the controllers for consoles will work on PC. Is there one that works with PC and whereabouts can you buy them online?
Hi, so I bought a Hori drum.
When I Hit don, it become home or screen shot. ka Was okay.
Even when I test the key inputs from switch. It’s A is B, B is Y, Y is X.
Is there a way I can change the mapping, save it and ply on switch?
Hello.
So I have a Taiko Drum, I got the game and the taiko together for the PS4… now, this new game claims that it is compatible with PS4 Taikos but when I try to play there is an error message saying that “PS5 games can’t be played using the current controller”. The controller works fine, I can navigate the ps5 menu and even play the previous Taiko game for ps4 using that controller.
:( help
So, how's the compatibility of the switch hori drum for the new release rhythm festival on pc? Is it plug and play? Or you need 3rd party apps to make it work?
I'm really surprised more people arent talking about this but there are songs that were just flat out removed from the re-release on PC that are still available on the Switch one.
We got Dont Say Lazy there in that pack, right?

And here it's just gone.
Senshuin Complex seems to be missing too and it was just added in March.
I thought it was just the Pokemon stuff that was going to be Switch exclusive cuz Nintendo but are they holding other random songs hostage too? What gives, Namco?
