The skiing wasn’t the best today but I’m going to take this rainbow as a positive sign from the snow gods.
Any reviews out there for the quality of Boreal ski lessons?
I have an Ikon pass but I can get a 1hr private lesson plus a ticket at Boreal for less than the price of a 2.5h group lesson at Palisades. A two hour lesson at Boreal is a bit more, but still half the price of a private 2.5h lesson at Palisades. I have pretty specific learning objectives (short radius fully carved turns) so I'm not sure I'd find what I need in a group lesson.
Hi! I recently stayed at an Airbnb in North Lake and unfortunately left a piece of luggage behind. Is there a local-Taskrabbit type service that operates in the area? I’m looking for someone to pick the luggage up and mail it back to me. I’m willing to pay for their time, of course. Thank you for any help!
Grandson with special needs wants a newspaper from our trip…Any chance i could find one just walking around Northstar? So far I have tried the little village convenience store, the lobby of the Ritz, and a couple of cafes.
I only have a day to spend in Tahoe next July. I'd like to go to one of these locations. Sand Harbor is closer to the other places I need to be.. But if Emerald Bay is significantly superior, I can drive extra.
I will probably rent a kayak at either one. I'm not a big beach/swimming fan but I love beautiful views and easy to moderate hiking.
I know the Keys neighborhood had some issues and the HOA has increased. Will anyone share if the HOA is now stable, the reserves, and if a special assessment was done? TIA
We are taking a company dudes ski trip and plan to ski Mon-Wed of next week. Looking at the forecast the snow up top looks incredible but heavy rains down low. The 60mph+ winds are what have me concerned for skiing though. I assume at that speed all lifts will be closed?
We are just trying to come up with a contingency plan in case Heavenly is out of the question.
Any other ski mountain looking ok for this time period?
Alternative things to do in these conditions? Obviously we can burn a good amount of time in the Casinos but I just wanted to get any other info I could so we are prepared for a badass time no matter what!
We are staying in South Tahoe 9 guys age 30s-50s

We are considering a ski vacation to the area next Winter. I'm a solid green skier and just like to relax despite being ok on blues. My son and husband are solid blue skiers. We like a base village that has bars and restaurants for afterward that we can walk to. We like close to ski in/ski out. I don't want to walk more than 5 minutes with my gear. I also don't want to spend 500 a night...does this exist or am I nuts and should go back to our usual resorts in Colorado? (Keystone/Copper/Breck)
I'm planning a bachelorette trip to South Lake Tahoe in the summer of 2025, from Sunday to Wednesday. We're staying in the South Lake Tahoe area and would love some suggestions for dinner spots within walking distance to nightlife. What’s the nightlife like there, and where should we go? Also, any recommendations for the best brunch spots that would be great for starting the day before exploring the town? Also, if it's not too much to ask.... what is the best beginner-level hiking trail?
I want to rip the ripper up has anyone done this before?
What is the easiest mogul run at heavenly (california side)? What would the progression be at heavenly for someone looking to learn skiing moguls?
Hello I'm getting ready to move out there to finish the season at a resort. I'm a fan of dive bars and all live music. Are there any bands or musicians that are must watch? Or any venues that you suggest over others?
Edit: staying in South Lake Tahoe
Thinking of parking at the Safeway to avoid paid lots- how's the situation there these days? Is there availability, is it safe overnight, etc.?
How does heavenly typically shutdown runs on the california side towards end of season? Do they close the advanced runs and blues off of sky/canyon first? I’m trying to figure out what runs are likely to be open in the last 1-2 weeks before they close the resort (around mid April)
Going to Northstar next week, and looking for a snoplay close to N* for wife and kids while waiting for me hitting the slopes.
Has anyone put a list together or have a website that shows who offers what? Thinking about the Stateline/South Lake area. Not one to ask when I visit a restaurant but if I know they do it, I’ll ask and show. I know Tahoe Bagel does and the counter person usually knows and adds it. Would be nice at some of the breweries with drafts hitting $10, even a buck or two helps. And I still tip on the full price as it’s only a little extra but it certainly helps the crew.
Does anyone know of any clear of snow basketball hoops or soccer fields in parks or elsewhere around Truckee or Tahoe City? Looking to just get some exercise for the kids.
Where are your fave spots to watch the sunset? Am staying in south lake for 6 weeks and hoping to do some short post work late afternoon hikes to catch golden hour 🌅
*expect ≤12” at lake level, with rain
Hi, my friend is an epic rewards member. We are taking my 6 y.o. kid skiing at northstar. My friend is able to put the lessons in his cart online with the discount. Is this allowed if he shows up with me to drop them off in the morning? Also, do I have to check the box to buy a lift ticket if they’re just going on the magic carpet?
Does anyone know if we get Gondola access with a 3 day Epic pass? If not, what's the best way to get up to the resort? Will be staying at the Harrahs on the state line.
Anyone interested in meeting at Mt Rose to do the buy one get one free deal? It works out to be around only $80/person.
Hey all!
New to this group and planning to be in Tahoe for the month of February. I heard it's kind of difficult to get here from Reno Airport?
I'll be staying in Incline Village–what do people usually do for transportation from the airport?
There's a local snowboarder guy on FB that offers to pick people up, but he wants $200 and that's just absurd to me...
I had another random question too if you don't mind helping me out–
I'm planning on getting a seasons pass to mount rose. If it's raining in incline village, is it high odds that it'll be raining on the mountain too or would that likely be snow?
