Hi, I hope you're having lovely day.
My partner and I are doing s roadtrip in cnaada and the USA and we'll be in lake Tahoe soon. We're sleeping in the car so we would like to avoid very low temperatures.
Where around the lake would the temperatures would be less cold, which towns?
Thank you so much for your help.
Hello! We have a group of 14 guys for a bachelor party coming in March! We’re doing .5 days of skiing and the rest is wide open. Would love some recommendations on the following:
I know this is a super open question, but any recommendations are appreciated. Thank you!
I’m trying to ski next Sunday and judging by the web cams it looks pretty good. Any snow making experts that can predict the opening dates?
Not sure what to buy to be prepared for the snow. Any recs? Just for walking around town and keeping warm.
When traveling in the mountains the weather can be unpredictable and you can expect the weather yearround to have scattered microclimates with elements such as high winds, rain, thunderstorms, hail, snow flurries, flooding, wildfires/smoke, and other hazards.
Remember do not feed the wildlife or take selfies with bears. Please pick up and pack out your trash. Use the links below to help guide you to resources that are there for your safety.

I got an opportunity to move to Bear Valley, CA for the winter to ski. I would be leaving my current ski town in the PNW for this opportunity. Does anyone have experience living in the area?
For SNO-Parks:
Vehicles parked overnight need to be staked at all four corners with 1x2 inch by 8-foot poles to prevent accidental damage by snow removal equipment.
Does anyone have any recommendations for stakes (or a DIY setup) for this requirement? Ideally looking for something that telescopes or can be broken down to fit in a car.
And what would you use to hold them on the (presumably plowed) ground?
planning to visit Tahoe week after July 4th 2025 but from Monday to Wednesday.
I'm not able to see what's the historical operation hour this year, and only saw September schedule which only open on weekends?
anyone visited heavenly this July ? was it operated on weekday? TIA
Hello all! Are “ski resorts” just hotels with access to skiing?? I’m looking to come to the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe to ski early next year with my family. We’re driving from Texas and that’s why it’s not the CA side. Hoping is a bit less of a drive. But I was looking into resorts and I’m confused! Zero resorts I’ve looked into are both rooms and ski slopes. Am I missing something?? Am I reading it wrong. They all say ‘2 miles away’ or ‘transportation included’. My parents are coming and are going to want to watch the toddler while my husband and I are out so I want to be in the same place if possible. I don’t want to leave in case we need to hurry back to room for one reason or another. Any advice help. I’m just going crazy wondering what is going on with these “ski resorts” that don’t have skiing at them. THANK YOU.
Figure it's a prescribed burn, but it's kinda windy for that today and it's a bit thiccc
Are blackout/peak days too crowded at heavenly with long lift lines? Most base/local passes exclude these dates so I was wondering if they might not be as bad... example: 26 Dec to 1st Jan is listed as peak dates
Trying to find the best way to situate myself close to palisades for this ski season. Looking to rent for a few months, minimum like 2-3. Not really sure where to start or where to look, as most of the options I see online for renting a place are for longer term rentals. Any advice for where I should look? Any other advice in general about renting / living in Tahoe? I'd be potentially open to south lake as well, but I am mostly prioritizing skiing so it would make more sense to go for something in the north side. Also I guess I should point out that I am on a budget, and can't really afford to spend lots of money. I just mostly want a place to sleep, cook, and rest.
I am looking for accommodations in Northstar Village. I stayed in Catamount and found it very nice and convenient. However, I noticed that Big Horn is very close to the slops as well, and they have 2 BR condos at a similar price point to Catamount's 1 BR. Does anyone have any comments on one vs the other?
Was thinking sugar bowl or sierra. Money doesnt really matter here since I’m already shelling out however much money to go to palisades.
My wife and I are driving up for our anniversary. We really wanted to do some fishing specifically brown or rainbow trout and perhaps some salmon (we’ve heard there was salmon there this time of year). Anyone know of any good places to do some fishing this time of year w/ bait? Thanks!!
Anyone play Pokemon go? Gigantamax event today and tomorrow
Hi,
I would like to find a spot where I can pull up with my car, and sleep in my car through the night. Would also like to set up a place to camp there. Fire pit, food, etc. where are some good locations or a website to find these?
Coming from Reno - I know it's only game #2 but is there a way to park semi close to Tahoe Blue Center without paying boo-koo bucks?
Anyone have a recommendation for a newborn photographer in the South Lake Tahoe area!? Thank you!
I’m going to Palisades/ Squaw Valley whatever you want to call it. I already booked the village at palisades hotel for 6 nights. I just realized that everline resort also exists. I cannot cancel anymore because the everline room that i would get cannot hold the people I am going with. Is the village hotel good? I read reviews on the internet but I want to know a little more from people who have gone there recently and care more. Thanks!
