I'm an IB student at an international school, aiming to apply for the Bachelor’s program in Computer Science and Engineering at TU Delft. My Higher Level subjects are Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches, Chemistry, and English B. Although I study in English (apart from my Language A), since I am enrolled in English B, do I need to provide additional English language proficiency test results(TOEFL, IELTS)?
Hi everyone,
I wanted to ask aside from the 2 themes you choose, can you select courses from other themes as electives ? Thanks for any info!
One of my professors said he encountered some technical issue while submitting my LOR. Now it shows refused on the application portal. What should I do? Should I send him the request again?
I just applied to Delft through studielink and after receiving my netID username and changing the password I tried logging in my.tudelft.nl but it just keeps saying "Sending Message" and reseting. Has anyone encountered this problem or has any ideea how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated
Not a TU Delft student, but looking for a dutch-speaking student. I need to translate a math handbook (pdf) about numerical analysis from dutch to english, it’s around 300 pages. I would also need this done without getting the math text, tables and columns shifted or changed. Can someone do it (I’ll pay) or knows somebody who does this kind of job?

Hiya Redditors, I am currently in the middle of negotiating a contract. New to me but the HR informed that employees need to pick the travel allowance to be paid out from either (1) the vacation allowance or (2) the mandatory end of year bonus. The advantage being that it is not taxed at 49.5%
I am confused? Is this familiar with anyone here ? The allowance should come as a allowance and nothing deductible from another allowances ??
Hey everyone! I'm a 23 year old girl from Italy and I'm going to do a traineeship at the civil engineering department of TU Delft from february to july 2025.
I'm looking for a room in Delft or surrounding areas, like The Hague, Rotterdam, etc.
I was wondering if anyone here is in a similar situation and wants to look for an apartment together.
A bit about me: I'm really respectful of people's personal spaces and I highly value the importance of a calm, tidy environment, but I'd also really like to have nice chats and hang out together. My main interests are foreign languages (I'm studying a bit of Japanese right now), public transportation, music and watching anime or fun sitcoms.
If you're interested and feel like we would get along, let me know!
My dream would be enrolling at TUDelft for my masters degree, pursuing strategic or integrated product design.
However, firstly I'm looking to pursue a bachelor's degree in Industrial design at the Academy of Art at the University of Ljubljana or Mechanical Engineering and Business Economics at TUGraz.
What are my chances of enrolling at TUDelft with any of these two degrees, given the fact that if I graduate at ALUO I would be a bachelor of arts?
Hey, so I submitted my application for the MSc in Computer Science program on November 7th and recently saw a few posts from a few years back about messages on the website about the max capacity being reached. I am an international student so was a lil anxious about it. I did check the university website but didn't seem to find a message anywhere, should I be worried about it or am I good
It’s long been a dream of mine (28F) to get a masters degree at TUDelft. I’m finally in a position where I can realistically save around $40-50 thousand dollars (USD) to make it happen as an international student in about 3-5 years.
Is there any advice out there for someone looking ahead this far in advance? I already registered an account with room.nl since housing seems to be a major concern. Years ago I took up Dutch casually on duo lingo and recently redownloaded the app again. I’m aware this isn’t the best but it’s cost effective!
The Netherlands are the leaders in urbanism and green building technology I’ve always deeply respected this. This seems like the best institution to realize my dreams!
Hello! Did anyone attend the class Singing(Individual) from X? How is that class? And, do you have any recommendation about there 3 teachers?
Hello,
I’m applying for a Master’s in Interaction Design for the upcoming admission period, and I’m looking for feedback on my portfolio.
If anyone here is currently pursuing a Master’s in Interaction Design at TU Delft, I would really appreciate your insights. I’ve prepared an initial draft, and any advice or suggestions would be incredibly helpful.
Thank you in advance!
Hi everyone,
I’m currently applying for an MSc scholarship in Aerospace Engineering, and one of the requirements is to submit two reference letters on official letterhead. I have about 3.5 years of work experience, and I already have a reference from my college professor on the official letterhead.
However, I'm facing a problem with the second reference. My current manager is more than willing to write me a recommendation, but he’s unable to provide it on official letterhead. The company doesn’t allow official letterhead for this purpose, especially knowing I’ll be leaving soon.
My Question:
Has anyone been in a similar situation? If I submit a reference letter from my manager with his personal information (like name, position, and contact details) but without the company letterhead, do you think it would be accepted?
Alternatively, would it help to include a short explanation with the letter detailing the company's policy on official documents? I’d love any advice on navigating this, as I want to make sure my application is as strong as possible.
Thanks so much for any insights!
Hello, everyone!
I'm currently planning to pursue my MSc in Aerospace Engineering with a specialization in Structural Design and Composite Materials. I’m passionate about developing advanced structural solutions, particularly using composites, which is an exciting area within aerospace.
However, I also have a strong interest in machine learning (ML) and its applications across engineering fields. Ideally, I'd like to incorporate ML techniques into my research or thesis in structural design, maybe to optimize composite structures, predict material behaviors, or analyze complex datasets.
My Question:
Since ML isn't typically a core subject within the aerospace engineering department, I’m wondering if it’s feasible to take machine learning courses or electives from other departments. I’d like to develop a solid ML foundation that I can directly apply to my thesis work. Specifically:
● Is it common for MSc students to take courses outside their department?
● How flexible are most programs in allowing interdisciplinary studies or thesis projects?
Not a TU Delft student. I am planning on taking the MOOC on Observation Theory. Can anybody who has done it before tell me how hard it is? To get awarded the certificate, do I have to pass a final test?
I am an undergraduate student and I am following TU Delft for quite some time and am very interested in exploring the college further , I am curious about what would academia there might be . Are there any opportunities in which I can do an internships to learn and explore about the university and what it has to offer .
Hello! I'm planning on studying abroad coming from Australia. Although I am learning Dutch I'm not confident that on top of my current studies I would be able to reach a proficient enough level to understand the course content. I am planning on studying mechanical engineering. Is this taught in English and is there a list somewhere of all the courses taught in English?
Edit: all good now thanks for the replies, I had heard from a friend they offered many English bachelors and was mildly confused when I could only find 4 in stem as I presumed there were more. Mb.

Guys I’m probably going to fail IP, CO and R&L for Q1 (first year CSE BSc). I had lots of issues catching up and understanding the basics of IP and CO.
It’s going to be a very low grade for the endterm for CO and IP.
Do you guys think if I grind Q2,Q3 and Q4 I’ll be able to pass the BSA? Please only answer if you’re currently year 2 or higher BSc.
Hi, does anyone know if bikes that are improperly parked on the campus also get removed to the depot in The Hague? My bike disappeared from the bike parking at IDE, did it just get stolen or is it possible that it was removed.
Thankss in advance
Hi all, has anyone applied to Delft using their diploma supplement instead of transcript? I graduated from an Italian university and received the diploma supplement (digital file) directly through my student portal. I’m not able to be in Europe to pick up my official transcript with the school stamp, so I’d like to ask if it’s possible to apply to Master’s degrees at Delft with just my digital diploma supplement file? Thanks in advance!
So, as the name suggests where is the best place to study for every day purposes (not in the exam period)? The library is great: comfortable chairs, silent when you put headphones, enough desk space, but it is too overcrowded.
Thus, if you can please write some spaces (preferably with comfy chairs).
Thanks in advance.
Hello, everyone; I have a very simple question regarding the ethics committee. I'm a master's student at XYZ University and doing my thesis under a professor at IHE Delft. My thesis requires ethics committee approval. I checked the IHE delft website, and I couldn't find anything related to that, but there was a lot of information on the TU delft page regarding the same. So, I want to know, in order to apply at HREC, should I just apply at the TU Delft portal, or does IHE Delft have a separate HREC department or team? I want to gather some information on this before emailing my supervisor. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
I’m fluent in english and my biggest concern is I want to major in arch-engineering at tudelft however the architecture course is in dutch while civil engineering is in english however I wanted to know if the arch engineering is considered architecture or civil engineering and if i’m able to learn it as a non dutch speaker.
So I took the GRE for the first time and got 162Q and 155V. I am applying for MSc Robotics which does not require me sending GRE scores at all, but I can if I want to show that I went the extra mile.
At the same time, TU Delft has this on its page for the programs that do need GRE - "Your GRE test scores are an important part of your application and you should strive to submit the best possible scores. We do not set minimum GRE scores, but we look for applicants who attain a minimum score of 154 for Verbal Reasoning, 163 for Quantitative Reasoning, and 4.0 for Analytical Writing. We reserve the right to reject applicants who do not have these scores."
Should I still submit my GRE scores? Will they actually benefit me or bring my application down?
Hi, I am looking for someone to take over my contract at the Social Hub in Delft, located next to the train station. The contract runs till the end of July 2025. The room includes bike, cleaning services, utilities, gym, and other amenities. The rent is approximately 975 euros. If you’re interested or need more details, feel free to dm!
I studied maths in undergrad, with a few subjects in computer science. I have worked professionally as a data scientist for 4 years. I don't have all the application requirements listed here: https://www.tudelft.nl/en/onderwijs/opleidingen/masters/data-science-and-artificial-intelligence-technology/msc-data-science-and-artificial-intelligence-technology/admission-and-application , particularly the "Computer Systems" and "Software Development Fundamentals" sections.
I have very good grades (top of my university cohort in mathematics at a pretty good uni) and a reference from a CS professor I TA'd for.
Does anyone know if they are willing to be flexible on the requirements? If so, then I will apply, but don't want to waste my time otherwise.
Hi
I’m a student in university in France, I’d like to join one of the research groups at TUD which has the same area of interest as my Masters ( CS, distributed systems ) for a short period of time, let’s say 3-4 months around the summer. Is it possible? How to approach this situation?
Thanks for all the answers!
Hi, I am an international potential Phd student at TU Delft, most probably under ME department.
If I do a PhD at TU Delft, I am able to sponsor myself financially for 2 years (company pays it). As for the remaining part I am curious about what opportunities can I have to earn?
Are TA (teaching assistantships) available to PhD students as well, if so what is their monthly pay? I read a bit about it but as I could understand it was for undergraduate students (per hour pay 16/- , paid weekly etc). Also, I couldn’t understand the terms they used while describing levels. I am accustomed to the US system where when you are a PhD student, you are either a TA or an RA, and mostly both are paid equally.
Any guidance would be highly appreciated!!
Hello, I am a student at Leiden university and I currently live in a 25-m2 studio (with my own kitchenette) at The Social Hub The Hague with a contract until 30 June 2025. The all-inclusive monthly rent is between EUR 1500 and EUR 1550 (it depends on the number of days in the month). I would like to move to a different accommodation, and so I would like to transfer my contract. The transfer (move-in) date would be from 01-January-2025. The person taking over needs to sign the transfer contract (and leave a one-month deposit) with the Social Hub at least one month before the transfer date, i.e. by 01-December-2024. If interested, please do not hesitate to contact me for more details or to visit the place.
Update: move-in date can be 01 January or 01 February.
