Obviously John Linnell is always awesome but I feel like a place where he really shines is when he writes a certain kind of song where the lyrics zig-zag and ramble around and might not always rhyme, and the melody is kind of twisty and tricky. Ones that come to mind are Nightgown of the Sullen Moon (a quintessential Linnell song IMO), Where Your Eyes Don't Go, Spiraling Shape, and My Man. Do you have any favorite Linnell songs like this?
THE SECOND CHORUS OF THIS SONG IS HEAVEN ASK ME ABOUT IT
Noticed this plaque on the wall - isn't this the firm that Flans' father founded? (I'm in MA)
I’ll be traveling into Portland from out of town to see TMBG on Sunday June 8th. I’ll be in town Saturday/Sunday and staying near the venue. It would be fun to meet up with other They fans before/after the show on either of those days! Would anyone here be interested?
This cover of a song from the 1941 musical Best Foot Forward is the second track to the band's 2021 EP, The Pamphlet EP. How do you feel about this song? What are some of your favorite lyrics? Are there any live versions or demos you like? How would you rank it among the rest of the band's discography? How would you rate it out of 10 (decimals allowed)?

10: Masterpiece, magnus opus, or similar terminology. A perfect piece of music.

Why is the world in love again? Why are we marching hand in hand? Why are the ocean levels rising up? It's a kind of old record for 2025. They Might be Giants' 35 year old album: Flood!
i just had this thought in my head: "Since Lemon Demon made a They Might Be Giants cover of one of there popular songs, why don't They Might Be Giants make a cover of one of of Lemon Demon's popular songs?"
it's just a random fun little thing that pop into my head today.

When geek rock and grunge rock collided.
I don't mean your favorite, or a fan favorite-- I mean which song, do you think, has the most craft and skill behind it? Which song was the most complicated to make?

I think it was a compilation album of sorts with rarities on it, the cover art was of the Johns standing on a city street corner, blue skies, etc. I... don't exactly recall which songs were on it, though if I had to guess it was maybe late 90s early 2000s?
I'd love for them to do a few two-night sets in different Ontario cities.
I understand hating streaming's way of paying artists and wanting to support them directly but how come it's only those albums and everything else is on there?
This politically educational song was released in 2020 as part of a CNN Special Report. How do you feel about this song? What are some of your favorite lyrics? Are there any live versions or demos you like? How would you rank it among the rest of the band's discography? How would you rate it out of 10 (decimals allowed)?

Are their shows ok for kids? My 8 year old enjoys their songs and there is a show near us.
An email today from TMBG shows them considering leaving Twitter, this has melted my heart with pride, but they are still there. Any info on when the big breakaway from ignorance will happen?
