Bye bye to a few workers...and who knows how long they've been stealing for.

It is my fourth day being a merchandise associate at HomeGoods, and they haven't really trained me on how to "flow" or stock items yet. I've been asking, but they always put me up front or tell me to just do go-backs/recovery and someone will train me eventually. I feel like I'm missing a big part of my actual job. You aren't really asked to do flow, you just kinda do it from the looks of it. Can someone give me run-down of what flow is? How do you know what tanks to grab from the back room?

Cashiering is totally fine with me, but I wish they'd actually train me on what I signed up to do in the first place. Am I just being too impatient? I'm just worried I'm gonna get called out for not doing something I wasn't even trained to do in the first place. I've shadowed people doing flow, but I still don't really understand how it works besides getting something from the back and putting it on the floor in its designated department.

My shift is in about an hour or so and they have me listed as front end associate, so I'll probably end up cashiering most of the day.

I usually work in women’s, but it was super slow today, so for the last hour of my shift, my coordinator asked me to help clean up the toys, but oh my GOD, it was packed. Toys were falling off the shelves. I was overwhelmed just looking at it. I did my best with like no direction, but it’s literally ridiculous. I don’t know how people even shop

This is a shot in the dark but I was at Home Sense Friday and saw a rectangular throw pillow and it was perfect looking with ice skaters on it, I went back today and it was gone. Anyone able to find out the brand of this or anything?

Just a PSA to whoever needs to hear it…the glitter wrapping paper I got at TJ Maxx sheds avalanches of glitter on everything it touches. My hands, my clothes, my table, and every gift I attempted to wrap is covered in countless tiny, itchy, gold flecks.

I’m probably a dum dum for choosing a glittered design in the first place but I’ve used glittered paper products in the past without this much of a problem. And it looked cute in the store! Of course, now just looks dirty because it’s covered in loose glitter.

Again, just a heads up to anyone thinking about purchasing this…you’ll be bringing a plague into your home and the homes of your loved ones.

Just had the unfortunate case of a woman who came in and handed five separate people $20. Of course, my dumbass coworkers accepted it, and by the time she handed one to me it was too late to course correct.

Now this woman is out $100 and it's all going to go to the company—because by policy, we are not allowed to accept tips. Plus this was all done up front and with 7+ employees around so inevitably, management was going to find out and demand we put it in the cash drawers.

Best case scenario, the money might go to a pizza day. Worst case scenario, corporate eats it up. Either way, don't tip retail workers and believe them when they say they can't accept it. Just sad that this woman trying to brighten some retail workers' days ended up making a donation to a corporation.

EDIT: OR, learn how to tip retail workers discreetly. Do it in parking lots, when there's only a few people up front, or just in general be quiet about it. But most importantly believe when an employee tells you they can't take it!

Hi again I post a lot lol

I have a 9 hour shift today but only have 1 15 then a lunch. Ranting to my coworkers about it. Then one of those coworkers tells me that I qualify for a second 15 in a shift this long. She pointed out how there's a paper in the break room with proof of this. So I just reckoned I would take my second break after my lunch sometime as I'm just on the floor.

Welp, 6 people called out today. So I was moved to fitting rooms, and all the lunches have been pushed back. My lunch is now 3 hours 45 minutes after my 15. But I don't qualify for a second break bc the stupid "4 hours" policy where you get a 15 every 4 hours. And when my lunch break is over, I'll only have an hour and a half until I go home, not enough time for my second 15 (my coworker explained you only get a 15 after your lunch if there's over 2 hours left).

... This $#!+ has happened before. And also often times I'm singled out to where everyone else who works 8-9 hours gets 2 15s and a lunch, but I only get 1... despite this being against our company's rules. Should I call HR on my managers? Frankly sick and tired of them finding loopholes to avoid giving me another break. Like how every Friday, they only schedule me 6 hours to give me a singular 15, as I only get a meal break if I work over 6 hours 15 minutes. And often times I stay more than 6 hours 15 minutes in the end bc they make me stay to help lol. One time my manager made me stay an hour extra over my 6 hour shift to clean up a mess that another associate made. I was so mad I almost turned in my notice lol.

...should I call HR? Frankly I want to see those greedy, inconsiderate managers fired 😊 tired of being treated like $#!+ 😊

been at TJMaxx for a little over 3 months now, i was promoted to BRC in 3 weeks. I’ve got great work ethic and i enjoy getting stuff done, but management does a awful job prioritizing the backroom, no room anywhere, they never cancel a truck and they expect a minimum of 10 pallets a day??? when i’m the only one breaking down pallets??? beyond that i’ve got a metric shitload of toys and men’s gifts (14 wave boxes) and they never get pushed bcuz the men’s and kids coordinator never leaves the front line

management is never understanding regardless of how many conversations I have with them. is it even worth staying?

so i’ve worked here for little over a year now and it was the same last year i put in a schedule change and told them i cannot that late even when we close at 9:30 they keep us till 11 sometimes ! no one has came to me about my schedule change so i called today and the assistant manager was talking to me like a child (she does this with everyone but she was rude and no help) so i call the store manager and she is so rude i start crying on the phone ! she asks me if i would to this if i was a school teacher and that i need someone to cover my shifts and im asking her if she can meet me in the middle and that im a hard worker and i don’t call out like that and just have problems in general and it was like she was trying to get me to quit over the phone the way they were talking to me was nuts and idk what to do about it other than talk to HR but i feel like that is so not okay to do i was crying all day just bc i didn’t stick up for myself this company is literally the worst i guess it’s time for goodbye…

I wanted to exchange a sweater I bought from TJMaxx, new with tags. My return was over 30 days which usually isn’t an issue… I’m either able to return or exchange. The cashier told me their new system doesn’t allow for this because it’s over 30 days and they wouldn’t even issue me a store credit? Is there a new return policy regarding late returns?

So now with holiday hours, has anyone been scheduled to close at 11:30PM and scheduled the next day at 6:30AM? Is this what happens?? I am not sure how I am going to function that next morning. :(

This goes for CECs too. Let's say they discounted a damaged item for a customer, the customer doesn't want it, and then they put it on hold to buy themselves. What if they buy something weeks later that just happens to have their number on it? Can LP track this and can they fire people for it?

I bought this coat at Marshalls two weeks ago. wore it once and the sleeves are already tearing off. I threw out the receipt but still have the tags can I return it?

It’s like they expect us to be “on call” at all times and they get mad at anyone that can’t come in on short notice to replace a call out!!! Sometimes they even try to call people in on their scheduled RTO days!!!

I work at one of the distribution centers in Pennsylvania. Last week during peak season I had a panic attack and I had to leave. I went to see my doctor. I use the rest of my sick time for this week and I'm down to no fault. I have to go back to my doctor on Monday. Can they find a way to use this to fire me

I’m scheduled 4 shifts for the next two weeks. I usually get 4-5 shifts a week literally why are they doing this to me do I just suck at my job and I’m unaware because I personally thought I was doing good, I even got a card while I was on register a few days ago.

So basically 2 weeks ago I gave my manager a paper for my new schedule. I told her I wsnted 15h per week but she only put it for this week and next week I’m working 18 hours. Before giving her a paper I also told her that I wanted 1( hours but she continued to give me 18h per week. I had a week where I worked 25h. This is my first job so I was wondering if it was because of holiday season.

And it wasn’t even because it was Black Friday. I had to tell my manager that I couldn’t stay for work on Tuesday because it was 8-1:30 and I can only work 4-5 hours because of my disability (epilepsy) and I have certain accommodations I need, and don’t wanna loose them. She asked me why, and I’m like…you already know why but I didn’t say that I just told her why. Then she asked the earliest I can come in (even tho I’ve had 8AM-6-PM since I started which was 4 years ago since my mother drives me too and from work). So I told her that, and she just said “I’ll try.” I’m like ??? You shouldn’t have to try anything. You already knew this about my availability and accommodations. THEN my other manager said I’m not allowed tk talk to my coworker about how many hours I get apparently. I was talking to my coworker about how last week I was the only person in the store that got only one day that week (4 hours) while everyone else got 2-3 days and they were 6+ hours. So I was just telling her that, and she said thays messed up and I should totally talk to management about that cause it’s not right. Which I already did when I saw it. I told them, I was wondering if it was a mess up because it didn’t seem right. And they responded “oh it’s payroll” and I suggested if they needed anyone to give me a call and I’ll come in. I wrote down times I can work on the paper in the break room, and even called some days and got nothing. So they gaslighting me by saying I need to speak tk them about it WHICH I DID. MULTIPLE TIMES. And then they said “she’s not gonna give you any hours is she?” I know that! But don’t try tk tell me you didn’t know I asked you. 🙄 I also know EVERY DEPARTMENT in the store sk idk…I’m looking for another job and hace an interview for Monday. Hopefully that goes well.

So my grandmother (I live in her home) uses my discount card. I have never thought that her coming to my register would be a problem until today. She came in and I was the only available register. She used my discount card and after the fact my manager called me into the office to lecture me that the next time would result in further actions. They never told me otherwise before and I even looked in my onboarding paperwork. I only know the talk about free bagging which did not go on.

Hi! So, I’ve only ever called out once before. Tonight, during my shift I was loosing my voice progressively. I got switched to the fitting room bc it hurt to talk. Then my stomach started hurting and I was fighting for my life! Anyways, I ended up leave my scheduled shift an hour early. I still feel like crap, and I know I probably won’t feel better in the morning. If I call out sick tmr, could they fire me?

I quit 2 weeks ago in the form of not showing up anymore. My store manager decided to treat me sub-human and I decided that I wasn’t going to let it happen again.

However, I have not received my last check. I figured it would have been mailed but nothing so far for 2 weeks.

i still haven’t gotten my pay for this week, should i contact my ops manager or hr??
