Please don’t hate me…

About 10-15 years ago I found that the restrooms at TjMaxx (and Pizza Hut, lol) were ALWAYS filthy. Toilets clogged. Wet TP all over the floor and toilets. Just nassssssty. Has that changed ? To this day I REFUSE to use a TjMaxx restroom because I’m afraid I might see or smell something that will trigger my OCD. 🚻🤮🚽

I went to tj maxx today and I found a very soft faux fur king bed set (3 piece). One was all strewn out in the floor (someone ripped the cardboard off), I did kind of fold it and get it off the floor but I could not find the brand. It was a tan/brown color. Anyone know the brand? I can’t stop thinking how soft it was and that I need it.

Does anyone else have international flags in their break room? We asked a coordinator and she said that our store just received them with a memo saying they should be hung up. They were just hung up in the past few days.

Hey Yall, so it’s been a bit since I left the last Marshall’s store I worked at. It was so uncomfortable and weird, but the store manager is always flirting with some of the woman. Apparently he’s dating one of the girls who works in the back, but I heard he has been having sexual intercourse with like two others in that store. Well, not heard, I know that the store manager did. Apparently, the store manager also has a wife and a girlfriend. It’s sickening and weird!!!!!! 🤢🤢🤢

The silk dress lost its makers label. It’s beautiful. Only identifier is on the composition tag that says “Opposition” but I can’t find a designer by that name.

Like cmon. Don’t stop in the middle of the aisle to talk to your friend! There are people shopping and I need to get by, please and thank you. Mind you I also am pushing a huge tank and you’re telling me you didn’t see or hear me???

How many rounds of markdowns has your store done? Do you expect one more round?

Hi everyone. A few days ago I applied for the Allocation Analyst position for TJX and thought I was a very good fit for the job. I completed the hirevue, which consisted of one easy math problem and a case study along with some behavioral questions. I was told that I moved on and will have a virtual interview next week scheduled for an hour and a half. I am just curious what kind of questions I will be asked in this interview, will there be more case studies and questions of that nature, will the interview actually take an hour and a half, and do you have any other tips i'm very nervous and would really like to get this job.

Sometimes I can convince people who are on the fence to sign up. But whenever I get someone who actually wants to sign up, something ALWAYS goes wrong!!! Like they would say, “Sure, let’s do it…….ohhh sorry I forgot my ID.” Or “I forgot my ssn!” And there was one time where someone signed up for me only for the register to give me an error message and the card DIDN’T count!!!!

For context, I’m a jewelry coordinator in a NY store that gets paid less than 17$ an hour (NYS minimum is 15.50.) and I have been a coordinator for over 3 years. I had a CEC shift today cause there’s no CECs available. I was puking through the night probably due to the stomach virus. But even feeling horrible I still was trying to get ready for work but then I started puking again once I was up and around. I called off and used my sick time. TELL ME WHY I STILL FEEL BAD? My store makes everyone feel like shit for call offs for any reason. The management talks constantly shit if you call off (even for legitimate reasons).

Is it the same day for every store? Or is it random? When does your store get new shipments?

I received a broken candle in the mail and took it in store to return it. The ladies refused it and said I had to do it online. The candle was $10 and I looked online and it said that they charge a return fee of $11.99. They should not sell candles online if they won’t let you return them when they show up broken. SMH. I only added it to get to free shipping.

so i quit tj maxx about 3 weeks ago, and like the title says, it’s been the best thing i’ve ever done. i was so tired of dealing with hateful people having attitudes for no reason. i was tired of cleaning up the place only to have it be destroyed again. i worked as a women’s associate, so i was constantly on the floor with a key to unlock things. most of the time it would be either me being the only person assisting the floor, or someone. on rare occasions, both of us. it was just so annoying being only one person managing everyone. and get this.. i ask them for a walkie talkie so they didn’t have to keep calling me on the intercom, but they denied me saying I simply “did not need it, and the intercom will inform me where to go next” it’s so annoying when im in the middle of helping someone, and then the intercom calls my name, then other associates look at me probably thinking in their mind “why isn’t she going to assist the other person”. my manger is super weird too, and the associates are unkind. everytime i worked there, there was only like 3 people working in the front end, and the line would be so long that it would reach the back office, and its all the way on the other side of the front end! the bathrooms was also DISGUSTING. sometimes there would never be any soap to wash your hands, and i’d often have to go to the break room to wash them. and the huge paper towel would always be wet or damp. there would always be trash on the floor, and it would just smell like fish ALL time. nobody even cleans the bathroom because i think the cleaning associate quit. (wouldn’t be surprised) just so glad i finally quit. it was a terrible experience for me and i will never step foot back in that awful place again. im not even kidding when i say everytime i step into that store, my eyes start to get blurry and it feels like theres some dark cloud over my head. then when I finally clock out and leave the store, the dark cloud is gone, and my eyes feel normal again. never again.

so they overpaid me because an associate who had a similar name to mine worked a shift and someone gave it to me accidentally instead of her so i got paid for the work that she did and i asked my manager if i have to pay the company back or do i keep the money and it just gets deducted from future paychecks and she emailed them and they didn’t answer her for now i separated the money that i probably owe them into my savings in case they ask for the money back

what usually happens when associates are overpaid?

i’m sitting in the break room and my manager is telling these new hires that the company has a new rule that if u don’t get a credit card in a 3 month period then ur terminated. he said it’s new. is that true or is he trying to scare the new associates??? 😭

I used to work at Marshall’s manh years ago before they had all this new technology for purchases and returns. As a front end supervisor I used to deny all sorts of returns and then get overruled by my manager for the sake of “the customer is always right.”

Anyways one of the worst returns I had was when a lady came in from the rain, took her sandals off, placed it on the counter and said she wanted to return them. No price tag, no receipt, no way of knowing whether or not they were purchased from the store. Not to mention they were filthy. After denying her multiple times a manager was eventually involved and she just overrode me, had someone grab a “similar” pair, made a ticket and had me return it at that price for store credit.

I was wondering if anyone had similar stories or if they’ve cracked down on all that yet.

I bought some Perricone MD Firming Eye Cream yesterday off the shelf for $16.99, opened it today to find some half used Aveeno eye gel. Do I take the L or is there hope of a return if I'm forthcoming with them? Feeling very foolish, I usually check skincare and makeup but was in a rush.

I work at Marshalls and my manager offered me a cleaning position. Does anybody have any tips? What should I prioritize? What are the general expectations?

Hi everyone I had been wanting this TJ Maxx coffee mug since I saw them on redditt. I was truly happy to find one today.

Even as a merchandise associate-getting cross trained on everything, I get it. But when business needs hits and they are low on cashiers, are they going to tell you to work the registers and you are the only human in the store at the moment that has been trained are they going to put you up front no matter what if you are bad at it?

Ok so ive been at this TJMaxx for about a year and a half. I really dont hate the job. I started in the fitting room, moved to a beauty associate, then to a coordinator... stepped down, moved to markdowns and now im expected to move to cash office. Love all of that, really no complaints.

But tell me why they promoted someone to non-apparel coordinator and then asked me to train her?? If someone is becoming a coordinator in a department they shouldnt have to be told the 'problem areas' of that department, how to sensor stuff, where stuff goes... they should already know that. I have no qualms with this associate either, i quite like her! I just feel weird training someone who is making more than me per hour...

I told my manager no i dont want to train the new coordinator, and then my manager mocked me and called me insubordinate?? Weird stuff yall

Hi so i work at winners in Canada so i heard a song it sounded like clairo idk but it was rlly good i remember the lyrics BARELY but it went something like "we could dance all night" like the chick was repeating it again and again sadly shazam did not catch it so if someone knows the song PLEASE TELL ME I HAVE BEEN HUNTING FOR THIRTY MINS!

anyone else like to watch these and torture themselves?? like yeah lol I may have just came off a grueling 10 hour shift but you better believe I’m gonna come home and watch random micro influencers on TikTok post shop with me videos to see what they can find at TJmaxx/ Marshall’s/home goods. Idk I love it and hate it at the same time. I feel like it gives me an idea of what is trendy and I love spotting a piece people are searching like crazy for in the big cities in my lil middle of suburban nowhere store.

I was out of town over new years and a bit into early January. I had gotten my time off approved a month in advanced but when I got home I got the flu and had to call out for my first 2 shifts back. Ive worked one shift since then and haven’t been on the schedule since. I’ve texted my manager twice about it and he hasn’t responded. (they also moved inventory to the day I was supposed to fly back and scheduled me for it even tho I had my time off for that day and I had to text my manager and tell him my flight was for that day and I wouldn’t be back in time) am I cooked?

It’s ridiculous. I work in jewelry and we NEVER get checks. Once in a blue moon. And I’ve gotten maybe 3…? Since I’ve worked here (4 years), and Everytime I have to call over a manager to do it for me because I was never taught how to do it, and when I ask a manager to come over, they just do it so fast and don’t even teach me how to do it. So every time I get a check, I have to bring a manager and they get mad about it. I would just like to know how to do it so i don’t have to keep annoying them to come over cause I don’t know a simple process that they haven’t taught me in four years and then try to blame me like it’s my fault. Which I don’t think is right because it’s their fault for not teaching me how to do it. Can anyone give me the rundown on how to do it. 🥹Thank you so much and I appreciate it!

WorkJam acts up again. All I see is a blank screen. Nothing schedules next 2 weeks, but I am scheduled to come in based on work calendar in breakroom. Anyone experienced same?
