I am planning to buy one of these cause its cheap. And in the description it wasn't mentioned weather the ssd type is nvme or sata. Even if it's sata it wouldn't matter because i will be upgrading it to nvme pcie 3.
So my query is, does this model support nvme ssd. Cause the the difference between sata and nvme ssd is more than 4 times. And booting is also a lot faster with nvme drives but i have read that you can use nvme ssd in l480 as operating system drive you can only use it as 2nd storage. Any one with experience.
Thank you for your time
T470 running Fedora with a custom keyboard and a hard modded iMac screen to do some school work outside
Does anyone know where the little plastic piece sitting on top of the cd drive belongs?
Hello, i got myself a thinkpad L560 and i want to know what upgrades i can do to it to make it better. The specs are i5 6300u 8gb of RAM at 1600 mhz and a 240 GB ssd. Tho i m aware that i can change the RAM and the ssd, i m only curios about the RAM and other upgrades that i might don't know.
This is a very long shot as they seem very similar (physically). But could a motherboard with an 8th gen cpu of a T480 be swapped with the motherboard in a T470?
Very pleased with it, easy to carry, strong enough. I upgrade from thinkpad t430s which i used for very long time
I have T480 and I need new hard drive. What is the best (=most reliable) m.2 Nvme SSD (1000gb) I can get for under 100e ?
I've been modding an X230 as I've had some spare time, and I finally have it all together again. Specs below:
CPU: Intel i7-3612QE
GPU: Intel 3rd Gen HD 4000 (Rev 09)
RAM: 16GM
Storage: Samsung 500GB SSD
Screen: Dell XPS 2K
Currently, no matter which Linux distribution I install, have attempted with (NixOs, Debian, Arch, EndevaourOS etc) I'm always treated by a black screen with a working mouse.
There are no errors anywhere, TTY works perfectly, but not sure where to look. I am assuming its an issue with the GPU Drivers but not sure where to start?
What storage upgrades can you recommend on my thinkpad t14 gen1
Is it just plug and play to swap the ips for an oled panel?
Will I need a 40 pin connector? Can I just swap in a 40 pin from the 30 if it’s needed?
Hi,
I have a ThinkPad t450 i7 5600U, I've only got an 256gb SSD, it has a Mobile connectivity too (4g simcard slot) but it is not working since I bought it refurbished,
I have seen some video on YouTube putting an m.2 SSD on that slot,
Can anyone tell me if it works and recommend an SSD with correct size for me
Solved!
I found my old Lenovo ThinkPad T410s and its not turning on, when I press power button all the lights light up but after a couple of seconds they shut off and I hear a very quiet 4 short beeps from DVD-drive.
I need a laptop to start to programming, use Linux and the most important thing for me is that is need to be modular.
I thought a ThinkPad t430 because it's the best for modularity and even its old it's very powerful for what I need to do.
Do u think it's a great idea, or I should choose another laptop like a ThinkPad t410 or 450 or even a dell?
Now I'm looking to buy a T430 Thinkpad because I heard it is the powerhouse of modular laptops. I'm purchasing one for music production and daily use so graphics aren't all that important to me. I was looking to bump up the storage as much as possible and swap out the i5 processor for an i7 3632QM to increase the processing power and whatnot. My biggest issue is I'm not sure how to go about it or which parts would be best for this upgrade. Help Please!!!
Will I get canceled?
it will have a very powerful processor that the normal cooling system can’t cool
i im really intro retro stuff, ive been looking for so long for a thinkpad x61 base model, really loking for something like that form factor and i think i got a jackpot, or maybe ill get scammed, i need to know how to deal with my purchase, because i have a x61 already, quite trashed but motherboard is ok, same with the screen, what i really need is the body, i cant use ebay because of the country i live in, they charge me 19% more over my product, they charge me 20 bucks per day my package stays in a facility and i cant even pay it online, i also run the risk of loosing my package due taking so long on the payment, not because i cant pay but because it takes so long to process my payment, i can go aound the situation by buying on aliexpress, what should i do?, look for a local seller that i have to restore anyways or buy something that is sold to me as refurbished ?, btw, seller is not answering questions, thats quite sketchy but i think its due to their work flow

I'm thinking a bout a t440 or maybe t430 and possibly t480 do you guys have any good suggestions and i just wan to have a very upgrade able laptop.
Right now I'm a mac plebeian, and I'm considering selling it to get a thinkpad. My budget would be max $400, and I would like for it to be able to handle some light gaming too.
However, my biggest concern is the battery life. I'm a student and I don't always have access to an outlet, so something decent enough to last through a few classes (~4 or 5 hours) is needed.
What thinkpad would fit the bill? Windows 10 is my preferred OS, but I wouldn't mind using a linux distro as well. I'm an IT major too if that helps specialize the choices. Thank you!
