I was debating on buying a switch for me and my girlfriend for the Christmas break! She really wants one. We want to play overcooked and other games together.

I just found out that the switch 2 will be releasing possibly in 2025. Now I am unsure what to do.

Should I buy a switch now even though it will be obsolete soon?

Hey, so I was planning on getting a Switch at Best Buy but looks like I missed their Cyber Monday deals.. Any other place you can recommend? I've read comments that said never to buy at Walmart .com, but that was my second option. I'm running out of ideas here

I want to make a mod that translates the game to Russian, but I don't know how to change text. I know you can do that since there's a mod that just google translates the game, and the only file there aside from the folders is Vermilion.pak, so I assume this is the file that I should edit. But I don't know how to open it without either causing an error or it looking like this. I saw a lot of people say that you can change it to a .zip format, but it still doesn't work for me when I try to do it or open through WinZip and 7-Zip.Does anybody know how to change the .pak file or if it's even the one I need?

I've had my switch since Christmas 2017 and have bought 2 sets of joy cons and 2 pro controllers which have all gotten drift. Right now I'm just playing with my ps5 controller using an 8bitdo which works good but it's kinda annoying cuz I can't play handheld or use vibration features. Should I get new joy cons for Christmas?

I bought my kids 2 AC switch lites and I fumbled and signed in on the same account for both. Now only one has the animal crossing game and the other one can't play a downloaded game while my other child is playing his. What do I do!?

Many people are having problems with version 19.0, and in LATEST ver 19.0.1, I'm still having problems with the Switch getting warm in sleep mode and running out of battery without usage. My OLED Switch still gets warm in docked mode, and in handheld mode, it runs out of battery in sleep. I have to shut it down right now as a workaround. Anybody found out how to fix this temporarily?

why bother giving a case and all but cant give a physical cartridge.

Ive had my switch since 2018 (got it as a christmas present alongside smash ultimate when it came out), and asides from joy con drift, ive never had any issues with it whatsoever. I bring this up to illustrate just how weird it was for me to boot it up this weekend only to find that all of my digital games have been uninstalled with no explanation (its firmware and system software are up to date). I wasnt even given any kind of error code, everything was just uninstalled. can anyone help me figure out the reason? i dont want this to happen again

I've been always wondering how the game updates work. Basically my question is: whenever a game receives an update, is this update saved on the original sd card? For example. I buy a game (physical) on its version 1.0. It's started on the switch and gets updated to the 1.1. If i take that same card on another switch will it be version 1.0 or 1.1?

If it's v. 1.0 then does that mean that the updates are installed on the switch where it was downloaded originally?

Hi, a long while ago I know I let a friend of mine borrow this game I had. the thing is, i dont exactly remember if I did or did not let him borrow my game. But since I wanted to play the game, I asked him and he said he bought the game from another friend but I doubt it. Since I still have the box for the cartridge of the game, is there a physical indicator if that game he has on his hand comes from the box i have with me? like maybe the serial number on the cartridge and on the box?

I started the game about 3 days ago, and guys~_~.. This game is addicting… Every time I turn on my switch to play sonic or Metroid for example; I immediately warp to fire emblem three houses and keep playing for about three hours each session. I can't get my switch to connect to the internet. I've tried restarting it, power cycling the router/modem, forgetting the network and reconnecting, I've tried connecting it via ethernet, I also tried connecting another switch to the same wifi network which worked. I also successfully connect the other switch using ethernet with the same cables that didn't work for my mine. Not really sure what else to do here, only this switch won't connect.

Hey, y'all! My non-gamer wife wants to pick up Zelda and since we have a Nintendo Switch, I'm wondering which one of the generation's Zeldas would be best suited for someone who isn't used to gaming? Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom or Echoes of Wisdom? Any other Zelda or even just pure Switch adventure game suggestions are welcome too! I just got Minecraft for Switch and I expected to be able to play with my friend (join his Minecraft world), who has Minecraft on his iPad.

Now, after I signed in to Minecraft with my Microsoft account, it says that I need some

"Realms" subscription or "Nintendo Switch Online" subscription. It says that realms connects you to others' servers and all that. I am extremely confused about what's going on.

All I want is to be able to play Minecraft with my friend and join each others' worlds!😭

I just purchased the Nintendo Switch Oled bundle with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, it also came with 1 year of Nintendo Online, the offer felt too good to pass up. I've previously owned a Switch but it was during covid, and I fell into the pandemic fads and eventually sold it due to lack of use. However, since I've sold it it's been on my mind, especially with some of the game releases that they've had. Also, I grew up with Nintendo (64, Gamecube, Sega, etc.) and have played some household titles (e.g., Super Mario, Kirby, Animal Crossing, etc.).

All that to say, I'm looking for tips and recommendations to really get into my Switch. I recently moved from a big city back to my hometown and would like to make it more of a habit since there isn't much to do here. Thanks in advance!

I ended up taking a break from playing with the switch and left my switch in the case for around 1-2 yrs. Now I am back trying to play it. I have my switch charged up via docking station but for whatever reason the joycons are not working? I've taken breaks before and usually the joycons would start charging when I plug my switch in but not this time. I assume its because the joycons have no battery but I have them plugged into my switch and they still have no charge? Are my joycons straight up dead? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So my little sister broke her joycon attachment and in her hasty attempt to "repair" it has cut a ribbon cable of some type.

She didn't have any issues till she decided to restart her switch and is now softlocked herself out of using it at the point in startup where you must dock joycons. Does anyone know of a work around this before I dive into this issue?

I'm confident enough in my tech abilities if a easy work around doesn't appear that I could replace the part myself (if I can find a replacement)but I'd like to avoid it as she doesn't even play the system undocked.
