Looking for the name of a game!

A game made recently, maybe still being made. The graphics are impressive, and the player character is pixelated/sprite? While the world around them is 3d? I know the description is vague, but I'm getting desperate

EDIT - 2D sprite in a beautifully, well-lit 3D game

Recommend a game

My buddies and I play survival games together, there is 4 of us. We usually make a dedicated server to make it easy and we play solo or with each other when timing lines up. So far we have played and enjoyed:

Valheim
Enshrouded
Forest + Sons of Forest
7 days to die

We like that when we aren’t all on we can build out the base and gather resources and can advance the story more when more of us are on. What should our next game be?

Some options we have seen are:
Raft. Green hell (but saw it didn’t support dedicated server).
No man’s sky. Stranded deep.
Satisfactory.
State of decay 2.
Grounded.
Nightingale.
Palworld.
Survival fountain of youth.
Icarus.

Is Outward any good?

There's always mixed opinion on this one, but I heard it's an empty game.

Refining HUD for our immersive medieval survival game, what do you think?

Hey guys, Adam here from Neronian Studios! I didn't want to annoy you with the previous WIP iteration of our HUD but since we have a much more refined version now I thought I'd ask all of you seasoned survival gamers on your thoughts too. Based on previous feedback from our community and other game devs we've revamped the user interface for our UE5 medieval survival game Middle Ages: Peasants & Knights. We've removed the cluttered hotbar for a cleaner screen, with information now displayed along the sides. Item selection has been streamlined through a dedicated window, accessible via mouse or a hotkey.

We're introducing three HUD options: Clear (clean screen), Basic (essential info), and Full (comprehensive display). We're also working on allowing players to customize which elements appear in the Basic HUD through the Options menu, giving you even more control over your interface.

Player attributes remain horizontal for now, but we're considering a circular style option for those who prefer it. Currently, there are no plans to implement a compass or a minimap. Our goal is for players to navigate their environment naturally, enhancing the immersive experience.

I'd be super grateful for any feedback on what might still be missing or could use more work!

Here's how it looks like:

Recommendations on Cute, Third Person Survival Game?

Hey all, new to this sub, but let me start off by saying I loveeee survival games. No man’s sky is my number one game of all time and it’s also the game where i have the most hours. But survival type games tend to always be my favorite.

I’m hoping you guys can point me to a new game. I’m looking for a third person game with survival aspects (focus on exploration, customization, base building, etc), but with cuter, fun graphics than hyper- realistic. Think in the same vein as Garden Paws (cutest game I can think of graphics-wise). Wouldn’t mind some life-sim aspects to it as well (npc interaction, farming, mining, chilling)

Side note, recently jumped into nightingale, games awesome if anyone is looking for a new survival game. I just get bored of the realism. For example, in no man’s sky I started as a human but me being me, I switched to a gek eventually lol.

If anyone has any recommendations I’d appreciate it!

I wish someone would make a caravan/camping/survival/bushcraft/exploration game.

My dream game right now would be a mixture of Project Zomboid, Dysmantled, and The Long Dark. But there has to be a caravan or other vehicle which you can live in and repair/upgrade. Zombies don't have to be a thing, nature can be the force to survive from. And you can just drive around and explore different cities or off-road through forests/mountains etc.

I've been playing Pacific Drive, but it's a bit too hectic and you can't really live in the car (you must return to your garage after every mission).

I've played Project Zomboid with the caravan add-ons, but that game is very bland when it comes to cities and exploration. It's mainly about survival from zombies, and the controls can get a bit clunky.

Then there are a couple others on my wishlist (Caravan SandWitch, Nomad Drive, and Outbound), which look promising. I haven't seen any top-down view games of this nature though.

Game like Stonehearth

Looking for settlement survival that allows me to make my place with great detail, just like in Stonehearth (which sadly was abandoned).

Doesn't need to be something with top down view, as long as I can make it unique.

Struggling to get into Nightingale, any tips from fans?

I got Nightingale on sale and have been playing it with my boyfriend but so far I find myself not feeling compelled to keep playing. I am a big fan of the survival / crafting / base building genre with my favourites being Valheim, Enshrouded, Subnautica, Minecraft. Usually I get hooked into the game pretty early on, and will sink countless hours into the game. With Nightingale I have completed one of the first / main quests, built a base, and gained myself a follower, but I find myself staring at the crafting / progression menus wondering what I should be doing. When I go out exploring I feel there is nothing much to find, resource variety is limited,, loot is always pretty uninspiring, enemies are few and far between but too easy to kill and very little variety. I feel like there are too many options with regard to progression and don't know what the next logical step is with progression.

My boyfriend seems to be enjoying it and we really like to play together so I am hoping that I can figure out whatever it is I am missing with this game. I know some other people have found the game enjoyable but it took some time. Any thoughts?

Would you play a survival game where you play as a dragon?

Hello! I'm part of a group making a dragon survival game (r/TheLastSanctum if you want to check it out!) And I'm just wondering how the broad idea appeals to any of you here. We're very familiar with the "creature survival" market à la The Isle, but I'm curious what general survival game fans think. Thank you in advance!

There's some more detail about the game in the FAQ of the subreddit, but the broad outline is it's an open world multiplayer survival game. You start as a Lindwyrm and grow into either a Dragon, Wyvern, Amphithere, or Drake. You "build" your character by collecting artefacts and adding them to your hoard (artefacts increase certain stats and such). You have to survive against other players, unique-looking AI creatures, and protect your hoard.

new Reign of kings server

Im searching 20-30 people that would like to join my Vanilla Solo / Duo whitelist reign of kings server with.

Vanilla: no gameplay-changing mods, no ranks or levels, no bullshit just the OG RoK we love.

Whitelist: to prevent any kind of hackers or dupers from joining we will make it a whitelist server only, people will have to get verificated in the discord.

Solo / Duo: to prevent huge guilds dominating the server, the guild limit will be 2

If you like this idea and would like to sign up join the discord! we will launch the server if we reach 20+ signups.

“Icarus” is the bees knees

Why isn’t this game talked about more? I always was interested but was thrown off by the crazy 150$ price tag for the game with all of the DLCs. But I recently bought the base game and it might be one of the best survival games I’ve ever played. Is there a reason it’s not more mainstream? What am I missing?! I can’t believe I slept on this game for so long. It’s all I’m thinking about at work all day.

Games with building mechanics similar to Valheim

I am looking for recommendations for games with building mechanics similar to Valheim. I love the survival genre and base building but I have found since playing Valheim other games haven't felt the same and the base building in other games just isn't as satisfying and doesn't allow for as much flexibility. The fact that you can phase build pieces into one another gives me a lot more flexibility. I also like being able to build and remove build pieces really quickly and easily and that I get 100% resources back - it means I can play around endlessly to get things looking the way I want.

Survival Float Simulator - Crocodile Waters Craft, Raft, Build

I wishlisted this game on the PS Store a while ago and just got the notification it's now out.

Has anyone played it yet? The graphics aren't great and there aren't any reviews out yet. I did see a short gameplay video, and it looks awfully wonky.

Let me run an idea by you guys...

So I'm making this survival craft colony management fusion game and I'm at the point where I need to blur the lines between genres. I've come up with an idea but I'm not sure how it will play with people.

My game is a kind of grandchild of Minecraft, Terraria, (like all survival craft games), rimworld (a la necesse), and other games in that vein. Those are my primary inspirations

The player starts alone, gathering sticks and rocks and whatnot and trying not to die. This is tier one. Eventually they start collecting npcs and forming a colony, and get access to metal. Tier two. Up until this point, the player has just been able to craft whatever they want instantly as long as they have the craft station and materials for it. We'll I'm thinking of phasing that out slowly and having the player become more and more dependent on the colonists labor. Special skills and time the player doesn't have will go into crafting higher tier base materials, which the player can then grab from the npcs (a short time later, when it's ready) and get back to crafting the usual way. It's essentially timekeeping key items to prevent the player from just rocketing through the tiers and ending the game super early.

As the game goes on, the player will continue to require higher and higher tier base materials, all made by npcs. The time will probably increase, but not to palworld grindy levels. The player still makes the weapons, the armor, all the fun stuff, but the npc crafting turns into a mini game of factorio or something where you're automating supply lines (no conveyor belts though).

This isn't just a random "what if there was a game that..." idea. I have the game, I've already implemented the system. I just have doubts if this kind of thing is immersive and rewarding or an annoying roadblock. What do you think? What would you think if you were playing a survival game and it slowly became that?
