Gym Partner ( JD Gym )

Anyone here goes to JD near Sunderland City Center? I do not usually need company in the gym but it does get boring.

laser hair removal clinic?

I’ve been using the Candela™ GentleMax Pro system at laser clinics uk for hair removal on arms, legs and face. However, they’ve told me that the hair on my stomach, shoulders, and back is too "fluffy" for
laser treatment. 😔
If anyone knows of a place that can help, I’d be super grateful for recommendations!

Date night Ideas

I met this lovely woman, Im new here. Recommend affordable restaurants or bars around the city center where i can take her for a nice dinner. I get that “ affordable “ is pretty proportionate.

Side Note : I never was with a british girl, so throwing stereotypes might work on what you guys usually do for first dates. She works as a waitress and is a psychology student.

Thank you

Christmas volunteering?

Hi all,

I'm going to be all alone this christmas, and rather than sitting in my flat feeling sorry for myself, I'd like to get out and do something useful. Anyone know of anywhere that could use some help over Christmas? I've tried the soup kitchen and Salvation Army as well as Crisis in Newcastle with no joy. I know most big charities will have been sorted since last year, but I'd really appreciate any/all advice.

If anyone else hates spending the day alone and wants to go for a walk along the coast or something, feel free to reply also :)

Edit for anyone else looking: No luck with animal shelters so far and no reply from Basis yet.

If you're looking for general volunteering this month Feeding Families has shifts available at their packing stations. I'm doing my first one next week so will let you know how it goes!

Barber that can do men's hairpiece?

Anyone know of a barber in Sunderland who can specifically supply and style (or just style and the customer supplies it) a men's hairpiece and do it well?

What's the deal with the terraced houses around Hendon?

Went looking at houses, and a quarter of them had plywood over the windows and vacant.

Traditional Recipes

Hi there! I know this might be a strange request. My significant other and his father are both from Sunderland. We live in the US. Our Thanksgiving is on Nov. 28th, and I would like to surprise them with some sort of traditional meal or even side dish native to Sunderland. I was hoping you guys could give me some suggestions and or recipes? Thanks so much!

Anywhere to walk indoors that isn't a shop?

Odd question but I try to go for a weekly walk, but the weather is turning and the shopping centres are full of mad christmas shoppers. Just wondering if anyone knew somewhere?

Ladies, careful around Port of Call on a night out!

Careful all women! Dangerous doorman!

Had an evening here and we were just enjoyingg drinks. My friend walked past the door staff (dark blond, beard, maybe 5 foot 10) and they started verbally abusing her, commenting on her body and clothes. Absolutely disgusting comments like 'I bet you get fcked on the cobbles with those tts' and 'do you do 2 for 1'. Her boyfriend tried to defend her and was rewards by being assaulted and physically thrown from the door.

Made more comments about me saying that 'I wasn't even worth r*ping' when asked for their badge numbers.

Avoid like covid if you value your safety

Need help with student accommodation

Hello, I hope you’re all doing well! I’m an international student who is looking for an appartement or studio, for a long term rental. However I am currently not in the UK and will be arriving in January. As most student accommodation are booked, I started looking on sites like Zoopla and Rightmove, but most of the time they want me to visit first (which I can understand), but I’m unable to do that. Do anyone know where else I should look for accommodation that are student friendly ? Things like good real estate agencies, or individuals who rent their properties. Thank you soooooo much if you reply to this !

Looking for table top RPG games

I (33m) recently became interested in TTRPGS through work (trained to deliver them for youth groups) but never actually played them before. Turns out this is something I wish I'd done as a kid because it's right up my street. I want to get into playing them in my free time but have no idea where to start. I moved to the North East east a couple of years ago and all my mates are 200 miles away so there's no hope there! Anyone have any thoughts?
