Recently lost my galaxy buds pro 2 and a friend lost his wallet which has got me looking into tracking tags. I have a pixel 5 so no tags for it without going for a tile subscription service which I'd rather not do
Did a little math, iphone cost before taxes are $730 for phone, $40 for case (Been using spigen with kickstand for over a decade), Airbuds Pro $250 (use ANS), 2 tracking tags $60 (keys and wallet, the buds case has tracking).
Samsung phone is $450, $45 for phone case, $25 for earbuds case (so that I can attach a tracker to it), Earbuds for $200, 3 tracking tags $90.
I've only ever used android so I don't know about any OS advantages IOS may have. If anybody is familiar, would it be worth paying an extra $270 for it. At the moment, the thing I would envy most about apple is less bulk. Phone is smaller/lighter, earbuds case has tracker whereas samsung would require a case for the carrying case along with a chain and tracker attached. The airtag is also smaller and would fit in a wallet slot much easier, but again, I'm conflicted as to whether that's worth a price difference.
Hi all!
I have to buy a new phone. Budget isn't a problem, which one should I choose? Oneplus 11, 10 Pro or 10T and why?
Thanks!
Hey Everyone! Currently doing research on smartphone throwaway culture for my Uni and need help for my primary research. It'll only take a couple minutes of your time, will help me a lot!

Thanks a lot in advance, really appreciate it.
My old Moto G 8 Plus is gone, and I need help finding a new phone. I don't want to spend too much, but I need one that can handle a lot of tabs open on Google Chrome, take good photos, handle 2 SIM cards, and, especially, be compact. 64 GB is ok, a great battery is not a must, and an audio jack would be nice.
I came across:
- Galaxy S21 FE (350)
- Moto Edge 30 Neo (300 euros)
- Pixel 6a (330 euros)
But they are not that compact. More compact phones like a galaxy S22 (610 euros), zenfone 8 (429 euros), and xiaomi 12 (520 euros) do take my attention, but I am not sure if it is worth it spending that much for a phone since I am not a heavy user.
Other phones I came across (ignoring a bit of the compactness I would like to have) are some Samsung As (53), Moto Gs (52, 82), Oppo (Find X5 Lite, Reno 8, Reno 4 pro), and Xiaomi (11T). They are all pretty fine, but even bigger than my actual Moto G.
I think most people would suggest the Pixel 6a, but I don't really like its appearance, although I have never had my hands on one. Still, I am worried about the reviews I read on how bugged it is. I do like how galaxy S21 FE feels on my hands, it is at a very good price, but it is not as compact as I wished.
Region: Belgium. I am checking the prices at https://tweakers.net/ (Belgium), and Amazon (fr, be, de, nl, etc)
Budget is £300
He is quite dyslexic and not very tech savvy
He also has a tendency to destroy accidentally
My thoughts were towards an Accatel for the accessibility or an Oukitel for the indestructiveness
I can recognise that a good case may suffice for the indestructibility aspect, the same for the accessibility in operating systems
He is used to Android and I feel like buying an Apple device is a bit silly at this price point
I'd appreciate recommendations even if they are counter to my implied assumptions
I am looking for a new phone with black friday on the horizon. Preferably 250 euros and under. Thank you for your time in advance.
Hi all!
Ive had the Oneplus 8 pro since launch and I really liked it. In the recent months it started to fail on me (battery life extremely low, broken back glass, overheating during summer, lagging). The root of those problems is probably me not taking care of it as much as i should. It survived through many festivals and even countless drops onto cement and I am very surprised that it held out that much.
Im looking at new phones rn, and many family members who were severe iphone haters are now extremely in love with them and would never go back to android and are recommending them to me.
I´ve looked at the specs and one thing that bugs me is that the price for those phones that are somewhat competing to the OP8 Pro specwise are starting at around 1300€ which is a lot comparing it to the starting price of my old phone...
Are iphones really worth the price? Are there any better options?
These are my options, and I know next to nothing about phone specs:
Moto G Stylus.
Samsung Galaxy A53 5G.
Revvl 6 Pro 5G.
TCL Stylus 5G.
TCL 30 XE 5G.
OnePlus Nord N200 5G.
OnePlus Nord N20 5G.
If anyone has any advice or recommendations, PLEASE let me know as soon as you possibly can!! Price is not really a factor because they are all either free or rather cheap. Thank you so much!
I've had this bad boy for a year but getting kinda tired of it. Tired of charging it every few hours. Also not as snappy as it used to feel. My country has a good second hand market, so max price would be 400$. Would you recommend any kinda old (2020+) flagships? I got my eyes on Sony Xperia 5 currently.
I want to gift a phone to my mother. What would you buy today in that price range?
Thanks.
I've been using Android phones with 6.5-inch (or bigger) screens for a few years now. I want to go back to the 4.5" region (Apple SE size) but sticking with Android for price purposes.
It seems the market has dried up for small Android phones now, or am I not looking properly? Doesn't have to be Samsung but it does have to still have a nice screen and good battery. Any suggestions?
Idk if this is the right place for this but I'm looking to find which lifeline provider will give me the best free phone. Any ideas? I'm in Connecticut if that matters.
Hello y'all. I'm currently looking for a great Android all rounder with a clean UI, a flat display, 256GB of storage and 0 bugs/issues for upto 700$. Any ideas? I've been thinking about the Google Pixel 6 and the RealMe GT 2 Pro. Which one will fill up more of my boxes? Thanks!
As you read from the title, I'm looking to buy a new smart phone but there are so many options, I have no exact idea what to look for in terms of what the best option is. I'm currently using an iPod touch gen 6 that I've had since 2015 just so you know where I'm coming from. I'm in long need of an upgrade.
I'm also working on a budget so I want to try to keep my price range under CA$1000 if possible.
What I'm looking for:
- good battery life
- Good camera
- Headphone jack (not 100% needed but I use it extremally often so I would like to keep it)
- Fair bit of storage (at least 128GB or more preferably)
- RAM / Processor : Not very knowledgeable in this regard but enough that the phone will run smoothly and reliably while looking good
- Price range: under CA$1000 preferably (willing to look at higher priced options, but price can't be too much higher)
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!
I have had a galaxy S7 edge since its release and I have decided to change it. I haven't been following the new releases for a while so I don't know what's good. I use my phone mainly for youtube music and social media so no gaming but I need something that will last as I will probably change that phone at least 5 years from now. I don't really mind iphones but I can't afford iphone 13. I have looked at the galaxy S22 and I feel like its a solid phone but I live in a third world country (Egypt) and technology is a bit overpriced but I can afford it. Any recommendations?
Hello I'm considered upgrading my mi a2 lite and I've stopped on those 2 phones the nova 9 and s20fe inmmy country are almost the same price and I'm not sure if it's worth to give buck over for the s20fe
My criteria is longlivety, I hope after few years one of the phones is still usable, is Huawei able to survive 3-4 years without hiccups and slow downs?
The other thing that bothers me is probably the camera, I'm not sure which one shoots better, but I guess that is based on personal likings, but would like to hear your opinion
please advise
Have a great day, P.
I'm from India. I am confused between the Samsung Galaxy A13 4g and the Motorola Moto g52 4g. I am interested in the 4GB/64GB versions of both phones. Please help me. My main concern is durability. I want to use the phone for at least 3-4 years.
Moto g52 4gSamsung Galaxy A13 4g
Additional info: Motorola provides 2 OS updates and 3 years of security updates while Samsung provides 4 OS updates and 5 years of security updates.
I am looking for a phone with good quality bluetooth(for my headphones), camera (both front and rear), fast charging / battery(ideally 4000mah or more), display(more familiar with lcd), processor good enough for daily use(I'm not into gaming), seamless calling/audio/speakers and minimum lagging.
I recently upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy J3 Orbit I've had for probably 4 years, to a Xiaomi Redmi Note 10s. While it blew me away, I was completely disappointed to find out its not compatible with my local data service provider Tracfone which works off of CDMA networks, such as Verizon, and it only works on GSM networks, so I'm sadly having to return it. In a nutshell, I want something similar to a Xiaomi Redmi Note 10s or better, if possible, that is compatible with Tracfone.
Budget: Around $250 USD is my max
Brand Preference: I'm not an expert on this, I don't really care so long as its an Android phone that fits my criteria and it is an all around good phone. It does need to be a recent phone, however, something that will have the latest updates and bells & whistles.
Expected use: Everyday in short, I don't plan on playing too performance-intense games on it, I will mainly be using it for watching youtube videos, listening to music, reading books and manga, and getting on Discord and social media, with some art apps and (what I assume will be) performance-light games mixed in.
Preferred Screen Size: I prefer a phone on the more compact side of things, ideally I could use it one-handed without having to fool around with the settings, gestures, or modes too much, as well as it being able to easily fit it in a pocket. As for the screen itself, I don't care so much so long as it's either an AMOLED or has a refresh rate of above 60 hz (or both, if possible) and at least has a resolution of 1080p or the equivalent for its aspect ratio.
Storage: I plan on storing a lot of apps and media on it, so I need a lot, 128GB or more, and I'd like to be able to install a micro SD card in case I ever realize that's not enough.
Country and carrier support: I live in the United States, Tennessee to be more exact, and it needs to be compatible with Tracfone, maybe Straight-Talk.
Other: I would like the battery to last long, and fast charging is always lovely. I'm not picky about the camera so long as it stands up decently to modern standards.
I need a new phone to replace my dear Xiaomi Mi9T (destroyed in an accident).
My budget is around 350€, I'm not looking at specific things, I need a balanced smartphone... maybe one that takes not too horrible photos and with performance that can be enough for a while.
Obviously a smartphone supported by the modders community would be a plus.
Thank you guys!
Hi,
So, basically I'm helping out a female friend to pick out a phone and I was assigned with this difficult task. Shes looking for a budget phone to a certain amount. I found some potential candidates for the two price ranges she gave me, the list as follows:
SAMSUNG Galaxy A52s 5G 6GB/128GB
Samsung Galaxy S20 FE Snapdragon (its on sale currently)
OnePlus 8 5G 8GB/128GB 90Hz
Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G 8GB/128GB
OnePlus Nord 2 5G 8GB/128GB
realme GT Master Edition 5G 6GB/128GB
OnePlus 8T 5G 8GB/128GB 5G (its also on sale)
Now, the choice seemed simple at start with either S20 FE (/w snap) or 1+ 8T, but I started reading reviews of each phone, looking at mutliple camera reviews (camera here is going to play a big role in the phone) and now im bamboozled. I really need some other opinion than my own, out of that list which phone seems to be THE BEST? And which one stands out to as the BEST budget camera phone?
Would really appreciate some feedback here as I am past too many reviews to make a good choice.
My iPhone 8's battery died recently. I need a new phone. rn I have the iPhone SE(2016) as a replacement, but it's nearly unusable with modern apps.
Here's a couple of things you need to consider:
Thanks!
Hey all! :) Thanks in advance for any advice provided.
I currently have a OnePlus 7T, which I've thoroughly enjoyed using for 2 years. I'm considering getting a new Android phone now though.
I'm specifically looking for something at least as powerful as my current phone (CPU, GPU, RAM, etc.)
The improvements could be as subtle as faster charging, a slightly larger screen, slightly better camera, higher refresh rate (something with 120 Hz would be awesome), and so on.
Two definite requirements though:
So, in summary, does anyone know of a mid to high range or flagship phone that has 120 Hz, telephoto lens, and a flat display?
S21 Plus comes to mind. However, that's not a huge upgrade over my current phone, as far as I can tell. Any other options?
I'm open to all brands. :)
I have an iPhone 5s but it has gotten to the point where it dies as soon as I go outside in the cold.
It's been a long time since I've had to purchase a smart phone. It seems there are now so many options I don't even know where to begin. I mainly use my phone for calls, texts, listening to podcasts and using apps (i.e., Spotify, WhatsApp, Goodreads, etc.).
I'm looking for a phone that is compatible with Verizon, is repairable (I hate contributing to e-waste), has a headphone jack, and is compact in size (if possible similar in size to iPhone 5s - 4.87 inches (123.8 mm)). I was going to purchase the FairPhone but it doesn't ship to the US.
Thanks!!
So after four years of using my Samsung galaxy s9 it is ready for replacement, and two deals in my region have struck my eye. I'm not sure which of the two is the better deal and maybe you guys can help me pick.
On the one side is the OnePlus 9 pro. I owned the OnePlus 3 back in the day (when it was still great value) and loved it. The battery died after 2/3 years, I think as a result of the fast charging, but otherwise I had no complaints.
On the other side is the Galaxy s21. After having used the galaxy s9 for so long with absolutely no problems except storage size (which was remedied with an SD card), it feels like a safe option. Sadly the charger is no longer included when purchasing the device and I would want a new one.
Due to newer devices being released shortly, these phones are having good sales. The OnePlus 9 pro is only 100 euros more expensive than the S21 (both phones are the 256 GB version) and comes with a charger and screen protector, which I would need to purchase for the Samsung (making them almost equally expensive). Both have good cameras, and I don't believe I'll need the extra 4 GB of ram. I'm not sure about the batterylife, but the OnePlus does have a larger battery and longer battery life is certainly appreciated.
What do you guys say?
If I upgrade to a smartphone, I'm seeing the plans around $60-80. Is this what I should expect to pay, or is there a way to get it cheaper?
