Building lightly shaking

I recently moved into a new building in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx and I notice the water in my bottle moving a bit. I do live near a couple of construction sites and a subway line. The loop on the subway isn't in use this weekend so that can't be it. I also have a crack from my bedroom door frame up to the ceiling about 7 inches long. Can anyone offer some insight into what's could be going on.

Why is my apartment building shaking so much?

I live in a small 3 story building in Brooklyn NY. I've noticed the building will shake a little bit every now and then when we moved in. I figured it was probably the big trucks that drive nearby (we live next to a gas station). Also for context we did have that 4.8 earthquake earlier this month but I felt the occasional shaking even before that. However this morning I woke up around 5:30am and it's been shaking multiple times a minute which is a lot more than l've noticed before. I have big mirrors that lean against the wall and I can hear and see them shake so there's definitely a vibration. This building is very old (not sure exactly how old) and I'm getting worried it's going to collapse or something. Am I being irrational?

Anchor Bolt Foundations

I’m new in the world of anchor bolt cages.

In the case of transmission line steel pole piers. When you go to buy the steel pole, does the manufacturer of the steel pole provide you with the pole, anchor bolts, and anchor bolt steel template/plate?

Can you buy the anchor bolts, for example - the #18J bolts, separate from the steel poles and anchor bolt steel template/plate?

Would the person providing the anchor bolts typically provide the anchor bolt steel template/plate?

If you bought the anchor bolts & template separate from the steel pole, would this be risky for when you go to install the pole after setting the cage in concrete?

This might be an elementary question, but my main thought is:

Could you get the steel pole manufacturer to provide the steel pole and the anchor bolt steel plate/template and buy the anchor bolts themselves elsewhere?

Assistant Structural Engineer

Assistant Structural Engineer

Greetings to all. I'm a structural engineer and thought of writing to ask if our experienced seniors here could allow me to practice under their mentorship. I have 1 and half years of experience as an assistant Structural Engineer and would like to practice more and learn from many experienced engineers. I can design steel, concrete and timber structures but would like to do it under check from seniors as I wait for my registration as a PE. I have samples I have done before which I can share for initial evaluation if need be.

Taken Moment and P/2 for column

If I want to use approach for designing column subjected to moment and axial load

I want to take P/2 + Moment

Now if I have Pu = P/2 + M = 600 kN as example

And I have 450mm x 450mm column what are the procedure to get the reinforcement that can resist Moment in let say X-Axis, M2
