…What to wear?
Recently got a deadlift suit, and not sure what to wear underneath it.
Some wear deadlift briefs I think? Others just wear their undies?
Maybe a dumb question, but I’ve never played with a suit before!
Thanks in advance!
Messing around after first run-through of Fullsterker. The press felt like it took a lifetime.
Any tips for cleaning up tech on the lôg?
Some light reps today trying to get into efficient positions and get out of the habit of putting my head through too early. I’ve been watching the MST tutorial with Craig Flowers. Any constructive criticism is welcome. Thanks
So I've registered for my first comp but it's there anything I need to register for I'm addition such as a federation or anything? I set that on iron podium it shows that it is sanctioned but like I said I'm new to this so I'm not sure. I have some friends that are power lifters and I know in addition to the comp itself you do need to be part of a federation. This is the comp I have entered. https://ironpodium.com/browse/event/new-year-new-pr

Hey all - I've (37F) been strength training seriously for about 9 years and strongman for the last 4. A problem I have consistently is feeling dizzy or lightheaded during training. This has had a negative effect on my competition performances as I often can't finish an AMRAP or miss a max weight event because I get dizzy. This occurs pretty often on deadlift and overhead events but I've also experienced it doing front squats. The only time I've actually passed the f out was on a heavy front squat but I feel dizzy probably at least once each training session.
So, what am I missing here?
I have a coach and good programming. My nutrition is good. I've experimented with intra-workout snacks but that didn't seem to make a difference. Supplemental electrolytes during summer months do seem to help. I have average blood pressure. And no known neurological issues. I do have a history of feeling dizzy or fainting due to pain (medical procedure, injury, etc).
Has anyone else experienced this? Have you found things that have helped? Would ammonia help?
Tldr: how to stop feeling dizzy or lightheaded when lifting?
I am not 100% sure on the axle weight but I think it’s 25
There’s no way this is the most efficient way to do this right? Am I wasting a lot of energy slowly inching it up? Sandbag weighed in at 232lbs.
Found an Atlantis strength log in a gym, couldn’t find any info on its weight. Anyone here who knows? Or anyone that can give an estimate?
(First time using a log, so I have no idea what I can press. My push press is ~95kg)
For the past year I have been training my chest twice a week. My workout looks like.
Monday- Flat Bench Press, military press, dips
Thursday- Incline Press, decline press, standing shoulder press.
I've been doing this workout for a while now, my flat bench press is not increasing at the rate I would like though.
I am wondering if its optimal that I should be flat pressing "TWICE a week" instead. I used to think that if I did another pressing variation whether its was decline or incline, it would be good enough for the 2nd workout of the week to add variety, but I am wondering if I am training wrong.
I play football and the flat bench and incline press are the foundational movements of our lifting program.
Hey everyone , I want to share a milestone that I hit with the yoke, I’m quite new to strongman movements, I’ve started to use them in order to increase my overall strength and conditioning so I’ll be able to preform better at my job, which require me to preform different kinds of movements and different kinds of strength associated missions, this sport is really fascinating and challenging Thank u very much 😃
Saw a lot of deadlift posts so I thought I would contribute! Followed these up with 3 sets of halting deadlifts!
Hi all,
since having struggled with lower back pain and hip problems for ages, I kinda left out deadlifts in my training regime. I thought I could give it a go again by following Alan Thrall's deadlift guide. What boggles me, that I seem to have a weak grip. I always thought I had fairly okayish grip strength. I do shrugs with up 50kgs each hand, do holds and carries. But during my Deadlift top set, rn 130kgs x 3, my left hand just opens. My right hand does not have a problem at all. Isn't 130kgs a bit early for straps? What can I do to get a better grip? Why is there such a huge difference between my left hand and my right?
You get this question a lot I guess but just quick and easy could anybody write their program/split as a strongman that you can do in a normal gym if I say that. Just looking for a screen or someone writing here a 4 day training strongman split that you can do in a gym that’s not to complicated for a beginner as I but I’ve been in the gym for a year so I am little experienced in the gym equipment and all that! All answers are very much appreciated! :)
Hey guys! I jacked up my lower back in the summer and it's just starting to normalize, but is much weaker than it once was. The posterior chain as a whole is weaker and detrained since i couldn't work hinge pattern movements with as much effort as I'd like. I'd like to hear some of your success stories in coming back from lower back injury and what made the most difference. I recently did a workout with these movements and it felt pretty good. It hit my posterior chain pretty good and stones are also a weak point for me in general. The movements were stone loads, stone squats, RDLs, reverse hypers and belt squats.
Just finished prep for OSG Juniors! Can't wait to compete on the 5th! 19-20 HW
Hi does anybody know the dimensions of the stand or submit monster dumbbell?
When it comes to deadlifts, what is the best way to build maximum power? Is it lightweight high reps or heavyweight low reps
50 inch platform.
First off, awesome sub. Been reading on here the past couple of weeks, and there’s some great info. Second- I’m 45, and I’ve been lifting over 30 years. Almost 20 of that was powerlifting, and the past 8 years or so was just fitness/bodybuilding. I’ve been thinking about getting into strongman. I’ve been watching it since the Stone Age, but idk where to really begin training for it. It’s been years since I’ve done heavy lifting, so I’m assuming starting out on a base of the basics would be a good idea, and getting my strength peaked back out. But from there, what else should I do to get ready for a comp? I’m assuming some farmers and sandbags would cover a lot? Also, I’m assuming that doing far less bench than I did back in the day, and far more overhead work would be smart as well? Just looking for a good starting place.
Last week of beltless work for a month or two. Did 3 sets here.
Any tips of how to get this little guy to fly - it’s 65KG I got it half way but there’s issues with my elbows and I don’t know how to get them higher any advice?
Inching closer to 700 raw deadlift! If I can hit 635 x 4-6 reps I’d be very confident in attempting 675-700. Been such a long journey but pulls really seem to be moving up now. Any feedback is appreciated 🦾
Handles were 185 each do I think total weight was 830 lbs
Got a bit winded and stopped at ten. Almost feeling back to normal after the last comp and back to making progress.
