Streetboarding
Streetboarding is a pivotboard sport also known as snakeboarding. Watch a short clip to see how it works, and another one for some streetboarding action. Relevant links:

As the title says, I want to get back on the road ASAP so need to get the wheels changed and quickly! What are the best wheels/bearings to switch these for in 2024? I am going to get a Dragan board potentially but want this bad boy running again!
Anyone ridden both? Thinking of getting to ride a bowl... which would be best?
Snakeboard loads cheaper...

Let me just preface this by saying that if it was feasible at all, I would way rather buy a dragan board setup. But I stay in Africa where our exchange rate and import duties make it financially completely impossible to ever warrent buying a setup and bringing it in. (It would literally cost the equivalent of two months rent for me to buy the setup, and that is before shipping and import duties)
Also, local skateshops would never risk selling anything other than skateboards and surfboards as even those scenes are quite small here.
So, I have never even seen a streetboard in real life, only in videos. And I REALLY Want to try it out. like I have been looking at a way to get one for years, but it is literally impossible to purchase from here.
So, on to my plan. I have some old skateboard decks I have cut and shaped into a streetboard (or a really bad approximation of) with pivots. And I found someone giving away old snowboard bindings, which I have bolted on. The only thing I am struggling with are the trucks. I don't want to use normal skateboard or longboard trucks, as obviously the bushings will make me carve waaaaaay too much. So my question is, has anyone ever tried to make DIY streetboard trucks? should I just use angle iron and thick high tensile bolts? any input would be greatly appreciated 😊
anyone looked into the alterskate boards? i'm going to paris for a few months next year and was considering buying a board there, but the alterskate boards have a promo, so i'm not sure which i should go for
I live in canada and would love to ride one but paying 400 from Germany is just too much. Was thinking of streetboarding.com (they dont sell the pivot system tho) or pivotboarding.com
It feels like this kind of board sports is a little dead :D But maybe there are a few people out there who are still interested in it.
I decided to make some videos about my progression while relearning streetboarding. I stoped riding a few years ago and started this summer again. The reason for me is to fill the gap between winter seasons, because I started also riding snowboard last winter. For documentation of my progression I created that channel. Currently every video is in german language, but I add English subtitles. The idea is to also get better in speaking and writing english. I relly suck in everything ;) But I have much fun, even if I sill scared of the cam. :)

So i am thinking of getting into this sport. Looks like it could be my alternative to snowboarding in the summer.
I have been looking closer at the Rogue Pivotboards Third Wave Elite and at the Gazpacho.
Which one would you guys recommend?
Hi r/streetboarding,
We are scientists from the Ruhr-University in Bochum in Germany and as we were overwhelmed by your support of our study we posted here a few months ago, we would like to ask you for support again. We are currently doing another study on how athletes from different sports differ in their personality and well-being.
It is quite similar to the previous one, but this time we don't ask how you would describe *other* athletes, but how would you describe *yourself*. At the end of the survey, you immediately get feedback about your personality profile.

I found my snakeboard from the mid 90s in my parents garage recently. Unfortunately the bushings under the footplates have disintigrated so it's no longer rideable. Does anyone know of a source for replacement parts so I can get back on this thing?
Hi r/streetboarding,
We are scientists from the Ruhr-University in Bochum in Germany and currently researching how athletes from different sports and at different proficiency levels differ in their personalities.
We created a survey in which you are asked to pick your main sport and to then characterize the typical and the ideal athlete of this sport. When choosing your sport from our list of sports "Skateboarding" is probably the best fit for you.
The survey takes about 20 minutes and as compensation, we will later inform you about the typical personality profile of your sport!

Anyone see those new Dimension Boards?
Hi, I'm keen on getting to Streetboarding here in Singapore.
I'm a small guy (164cm 5foot3/4), wondering if a clickboard will be sufficient since they are marketed at children? I reckon I must be the height of an average American child.
Thank you!

How tight/loose should they be? I slightly tightened mine when I got my board but they are really free moving. I'm wondering if they are too loose.
So I do alright on the board. Take off the bindings and I don't have this problem. But no bindings takes a way a lot of the fun.
Anyway, in bindings if I carve towards the direction I am facing I keep losing my balance and falling backwards. Took my first hard fall the other day and was really glad to be in slam guards because I hit pretty hard.
Thoughts?
