DONG DONG DONG
Bells rang out over Descracado Island just as Yuu Femuto finished beating the last fool who dared to challenge her into the ground. The crowd cheered as she stood with one foot on their back and both hands stretched to the skies in victory.
“Thank you, thank you! Unfortunately, it sounds like the time for the festivities has come to an end.” She signalled to some staff members for them to come into the ring, but nobody budged. “It is now time to declare the Champion of the Phoenix Festival! I’ve been watching all you sorry saps fighting day in and day out, and I, myself have decided on who exactly is the one person on this island who deserves the title of Champion! That person will receive a big pile of treasure that I have securely locked away at an undisclosed location…”
A low murmur began spreading across the crown as excitement for the prize began to build. Whether or not they would receive it officially, countless people there wanted to get their hands on that treasure, even if that meant stealing it from the actual Champion. But the Festival staff seemed uneasy, several of them huddling up next to the fighting ring. They whispered and pushed each other around, until finally they shoved one of their members into the ring. He hesitantly looked back at the others who encouraged him to go approach Yuu, which he did, whispering something in her ear.
”WHAT?!?
The staff member flinched and took a few steps back as Yuu’s face had a sour pout on it. Luckily for him, that pout quickly turned into a wide smile.
“YAHAHAHAHA! Guess what everyone? The treasure has been stolen! YAHAHAHA!”
While Yuu continued to crack up in the ring, the violent criminals scattered throughout the crowd began to yell and start pushing each other around, the beginnings of a riot slowly mixing together.
“What’s that?” Yuu asked, the staff member whispering something in her ear. “Interesting… very, very interesting… ALRIGHT FOLKS!” Her voice echoed through the speaker system, silencing the crowd in an instant. “I’ve just been told that a ship full of some weird ninja looking guys just set sail from the port. They had loaded a bunch of large chests onto their ship, and they seemed like they were trying to make a quick getaway. So… NEW RULES! WHOEVER HUNTS DOWN THAT SHIP AND STEALS THAT TREASURE GETS TO KEEP IT, AND IS OFFICIALLY THE CHAMPION OF THE PHOENIX FESTIVAL! YAHAHAHAHAHAHA!”
A brief moment of silence was quickly eradicated by a roar of cheers and the stomping of feet as several crews immediately made a break for their ships to go after the robbers.
Jormak laid unconscious on the ground next to the entrance to the mines, his once mighty beard burned right off at the hands of a certain power user. His body and will were broken, unable to quell the insatiable desire of pirates to loot and plunder anything they saw, or in this case, to take down a dangerous monster. The one who defeated him, Rosie Malcarion, slowly crept through the mine shafts, searching for the beast that Jormak never seemed to shut up about.
As she went to take another step, the small rock she stepped on crumbled, leaving her dangling over a massive hole in the ground age had only just realized was there.
pitter patter, knock, crack
The sound of the rock falling down the huge hole echoed as it hit one wall and then another… and another… and another.... Seemingly falling for an eternity, until the sounds simply faded away instead of ending altogether. There was a moment of silence, and then the ground beneath their feet began to tremble. Something was down there… something BIG.
GRRRROOOOOOAAAAHHHHHH
A bellowing roar accompanied a large gust bursting up from the deep hole, and the vibrations in the ground quickly amplified. Suddenly, a massive centipede came barreling up from the hole, its many feet digging into the hard rock as if it were nothing as it pushed its way out of its underground home. Rosie had awoken the beast.
OOC: Congratulations on finishing boss fights! Canon winners (aside from Jormak, who was revealed above as being Rosie) will be announced with the release of the next newscoo. In the meantime, you are now allowed to participate in one of two events: 1) Steal back the treasure from the Robber Sharons, or 2) Defend Descrecado Island from the giant centipede monster that is coming to attack the village. Both of these events are too difficult for one person to handle alone, so in order to participate you must team up with at least one other player. This is another canon opportunity, so make your threads count! Tag u/NPC-senpai when you start so we can help set up the scene.
#Phoenix Festival Grounds
The orange sun began to slowly dip over the surface of the horizon on the Phoenix Festival’s final day. In the blood-soaked arena, the violence persisted. One after another, fighters entered the ring in hopes of proving themselves to the higher powers of the world. Despite their best efforts, however, it was unknown just how much attention they drew to themselves until they read about in the next Newscoo.
”ATTENTION! ATTENTION!” Yuu Femuto’s voice rang out from the speaker Den Den Mushi scattered around Desgracado Island. ”We are approaching the end of the Phoenix Festival, everyone! As always, it’s been an absolute pleasure watching all of you beating the crap out of each other, and I can’t say I didn’t enjoy throwing a few punches of my own. But as we approach closing time, I want to inform you all that it’s time for last calls! All participants can fight one last time, so find a strong opponent and make it count! See you in the ring!”
The crowd stirred as fighters began to lock hands to indicate they had found their final opponents. What would the final matchups be?

Elsewhere on Descracado Island, further conflict was brewing.
#The Inn
“Damn these pirates…” Boreander mumbled under his breath as he looked over the messy Inn. The bar was in tatters, with broken glass spread across the floor, chairs and tables knocked on their sides, and food smeared across the walls.
“They’ll be gone soon enough, Boreander. And anybody who tries to stay will get what’s coming.” Myra replied, placing her hand on her brother’s shoulder in an attempt to calm his nerves.
“I know… I just can’t stand them! They’re making an absolute me-“
”AND THEN I JUMPED UP ON THE SEA KING’S BACK AND STRANGLED HIM WITH MAH BARE HANDS!” Tiny Todd yelled, drunkenly sharing his ‘real’ story about his times on the seas. ”AND THEN”
CRASH SPLASH
Todd threw his half full bottle of booze directly at Boreander, the glass smashing over the head of the innkeeper as his face turned red in anger.
”THAT’S ENOUGH! You’re finished Todd! Everyone out!” Boreander leapt over the bar counter and began spinning his yo-yo wildly as he marched toward the drunk tontatta.
”BAR FIGHT!” Someone yelled out, prompting chaos to quickly ensue as everyone broke out into a massive bar brawl.
#The Mines
A raucous mob of excited bodies frantically rushed towards the dark entrance to the mines, where their approach was seemingly blocked by only one man. This darker-skinned man, a furious scowl on his face and frustrated with all the clamoring, let out a yell.
”That’s enough you damn pirates! I’ve told you all plenty of times… there are no more precious gems in these mines! They’re completely gone, for good too. But if you insist on checking anyway…”
Jormak slammed the end of his massive log into the ground and drew a line in the dirt.
”You’ll have to get through me first! Nobody gets past this line until I’m either dead or damn near to it!”

Welcome to the Phoenix Festival!
Over the last several years, there have been festivals that have popped up all over the world, always run by the same woman: Yuu Femuto. She’s a notorious pirate, but she’s even better known for throwing these festivals. They’re called Phoenix Festivals, big parties for pirates, criminals, bounty hunters, and even the occasional marine. The streets are covered in booze, unconscious weaklings, and blood. But don’t get the wrong idea, there’s no violence allowed at the Phoenix Festival, at least none outside the fighting ring. If you’re caught picking a fight or even participating in one, you’ll be thrown off the host island. Quite literally. Yuu will physically throw you into the ocean. Devil fruit users beware!
Luckily, the fighting ring is the main attraction of these festivals anyway. Participants can sign up for as many fights as they want. There’s no tournament structure, elimination by loss, or anything like that. You fight for the sake, and the love, of fighting. Oh, and to make a name for yourself.
One day, someone could just be starting off on their journey, trying to recruit crewmates and buy (or more often, steal) a ship for their pirating adventure. Only a short time later, if they show potential in the fighting ring at a Phoenix Festival, their names become plastered across posters and newspapers around the world. Their bounties soar, they become allied with one of the four Yonko, they climb the ranks of the Bounty Hunter Guild, and some even become high-ranking marine officers.
THAT is what the Phoenix Festival is all about. Shining a light on the brightest young gems around the world. Making them known, making them feared, making them valuable. And if you’re valuable… let’s just say you’re going to go far.
Welcome! To the Phoenix Festival!
OOC: The Phoenix Festival has taken over Desgracado Island! The island is filled to the brim with young adventurers looking to make a name for themselves, including you! The main attraction of the Festival is the fighting ring, so feel free to step into the ring and tag u/NPC-senpai to create an NPC for you to fight, or create one yourself! Just remember to tag u/Newscoo-san when you finish so the world will be able to learn your name. All fights during this post will be player-controlled.
While you’re in town, don’t miss all the local booths scattered around the festival grounds as well. Get your fortune told by Miserabel “Red Drop” Kurse or eat until you drop at the many assorted foods stands.
But the charms of Descracado don’t end at the festival ground. Rumor has it that the mines of Descracado hold some of the rarest gems in the entire South Blue. The Descracado Inn is also a local favorite where you could go to meet plenty of interesting people.
So go out there, beat up some people, discover a new rival, eat some food, and most importantly, have fun!
Please tag u/NPC-senpai to interact with any of the NPCs in our NPC Document.
This is a One Piece RPG founded on thorough roleplay, stat-based-fighting, and player interaction. It’s an alternate to the canon timeline, but while none of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece characters will make an appearance, the concepts and ideas will, as well as your favorite Devil Fruits. This subreddit’s creators are all friends made through One Piece roleplay, and that’s our goal for everyone involved! This RPG allows players the option to play as a number of different factions, including but not limited to: Pirates, Marines, Bounty Hunters, Revolutionaries, and more! This means that not all of the players will be on the same side of the law, but for the most part, we highly encourage grouping together for common goals. You can join a crew to have a bunch of strong friends always around, or start one and recruit for your own! Temporary allies are good too! Or if you like going solo, you can do that too! This is a way to have some fun outside of the canon storyline, or beat up some scrub that's been trash-talking you! It's your choice! The mechanics for this RP will be described in each sub-section, and any questions you have please shoot directly over to the mods of this forum, and one, and we’ll be happy to answer any questions.
Head over to our Character Bios Subreddit to submit a character bio, and see what everyone else can do! Go buy stuff for the RPG in the Shop Subreddit! Each island has its own shop, and may have items that are only available on that specific island. And of course there is StrawHatRPG our main subreddit where all our story posts, stats, newscoo, and events are released! To play on any of the islands, just pick on the island post and feel free to comment under it to have your own adventure either related to the main story or your own original story!
Come here to talk with other players, get advice from the mods, talk about the sub, or just talk! Everyone is friendly and loves to talk about any subject imaginable! It's a great place to just connect to other One Piece fans, if nothing else! We highly recommend joining here in order to meet others and join a crew, and to speak to mods more easily for any assistance you may need!
Here is a link to our New Player’s Guide which can walk you through the most important parts of the RP. If you need any help understanding the guide, please feel free to reach out to a mod and we can assist you!

The sky is clear in the South Blue as waves crest onto islands’ shores and ships bows. The sun slowly begins to creep up over the Eastern horizon, as its warm rays cascade over your soft skin. It’s the most perfect day you could possibly imagine… at least if you weren’t in the South Blue.
Criminal activity has been around every corner for about 20 years now, ever since the incident on Fishman Island. That was the turning point. Marine presence began to dwindle and the hoodlums took notice. New pirate crews are springing up left and right nowadays, seeking riches, freedom, and pleasure. Sometimes it’s at the expense of others, and other times, it’s innocent fun. But there is no denying it: a new era of piracy is upon us.
THUD
What’s this? A copy of today’s News Coo drops in front of your feet. Perhaps that’ll have some good news for you.
The sound of battle illuminated the whole of Fishman Island. From the echoing of explosions off in the distance to the haunting moaning of the injured and dying. Throughout the island critical battles continued to unfold. This war was bound to create ripples that will be felt even decades from now.
Within the tremutues battle field, a fight had just ended between a fishman and a marine, surprisingly without either one gravely injured. Dropping his Method insignia on the ground and pouring tar on it, Mr. 30 walked away from Sasha who knelt on the ground with a shocked expression on her face. She had been broken, but was not dead. Was it true she could really become stronger?
’What the hell… was that?’ Sasha thought to herself as she watched the fishman’s back, soon disappearing from sight.
Sasha Canon: WINNER MR. 30
CRASH! FWOOM! SPLASH!
The bow of The Red Dragon Lady’s Revenge (Permanent Name) smashed into Senuko Cobalt, unleashing a torrent of flames as it sliced through the ground before plummeting into the water surrounding Fishman Island. He floats there, helplessly staring up at the sky, his body too exhausted and beaten to move.
’How’d… such a tiny bastard… beat me?’
Cobalt Canon: WINNER WOODY
“Get someone to the castle” Someone’s destroyed the wall surrounding it. We can’t allow anyone through” A voice rang out. As the crumbling pieces of the wall slowly broke off and fell.
Within the rubble, the Reptile Dominion could be seen, huddled around their captain who had succumbed to his injuries. His assailant was nowhere in sight.
“How...how could we lose...against one man? Are we really that weak?” Jack sobbed as he leaned over his former Captain’s corpse.
Zorcun Canon: WINNER BUI
SHING SHING
A pair of slashes carved straight into Rear Admiral Asher Winterwind’s chest, sending him flying backwards and over a wall. His royal opponent stood triumphant, though his steady, almost cold demeanor remained after getting no response from his allies over his den den mushi.
Even though he had only seen a small slice of the battlefield, the supernova could tell that Fishman Island’s streets were beginning to run red with blood.
Asher Canon: WINNER PARCIVAL
“Well then, cap’n, what’s the plan?” Noodlebeard Yaki looked up toward his new ally, Abraham Kennedy with a smile on his face.
“We march on the marine base and put an end to this war. Everyone, on me!”
A rally of cheers rang out around the supernova from fishman and marine alike. In Abe they saw a leader, someone who could not only end all this senseless violence, but potentially change the world as they knew it, and they intended to follow him.
Yaki Canon: WINNER ABE
To the onlooking crowd of marines and fishmen, it had seemed to be a battle of gods. Physical transformations from human to beast to giant clashing against a dazzling display of light. But despite all the flair, the finishing attack was the simplest of them all.
PEW!
A large beam of light shot from one body to the next, shooting into Kraven’s chest and pushing him far back out of anybody’s sight. There was no coming back from that, not even for the strongest of beasts.
Kraven Canon: WINNER HIKARI
John lay defeated. He was able to save his men from the Red Rum Company’s top fighters, but not himself. He had learned a valuable lesson in what it would take for him to protect the weak from the monsters of the New World going forwards. He looked over to see Tsar had also fallen from the combination of Zetsuki and Aars’ attacks. It seemed as though the Fish Man Empire wouldn’t be going anywhere anytime soon. He shuddered at the thought of what the Red Rum Company would do next.
Zetsuki carried Aars over one shoulder into the throne room of the fishman castle. His partner in crime had been beaten ragged by Tsar. Zetsuki too was in no condition to keep fighting. He laid the unconscious monkey mink beside the imposing throne before taking Tsar’s seat. He sat there panting, puffing on a cigar as he looked upwards.
“Just another job. Another paycheck… this time from the World Government itself...” Zetsuki muttered as he eyed the ceiling with a devilish grin plastered to his face. Of course, he was setting his sights on the next great thing his company could achieve. With his newly appointed title of Shichibukai, there was only one more thing left for the Red Rum Company to do, and that was to take total control of the underworld black market.
John & Tsar Canon: WINNERS ZETSUKI & AARS
The impact rang through the air as hundreds of iron cloud pellets hit the moustachioed marine’s chest all at once. With a couple staggering steps, spinning gently in an erratic and unbalanced dance, Vice Admiral Tribunali finished the fight flat on his face.
“Enough… I’ll surrender. I’ll give up.” He spoke into the dirt.
Tribunali rolled himself onto his back and lay there for a while, trusting only in Cynthia’s mercy that he be allowed to lay down without further brutalisation. And his opponent did not betray his trust. Saying some parting words about Justice or whatever, she left the defeated marine and returned to the battlefield.
“‘The only way to help people is to actually help them,’ eh? Alright. I’ll add that to the report.”
With a last puff of smoke, Trib let himself get some rest. Whatever work he’d have to do to clean this mess up, he’d do in the morning.
Tribunali Canon: WINNER CYNTHIA
All eyes are drawn toward the towering lizard-like creature stomping its way toward the newly created marine base. Radioactive flames burst forth from every crevice of Morrigan’s body as citizens and soldiers alike flee to try to save themselves. Only one brave soul dares try to stand in her way.
A large, white flamingo dances through the air unleashing a slew of rankyaku slashes from her deadly talons, carving up Morrigan’s body more with each attack. Reaching a peak above Morrigan’s head, Nadalee’s body begins to fail her from all of the radioactive exposure she had suffered.
SWAT
Morrigan’s huge claw reaches up into the sky and swats Vice Admiral Nadalee Winterwind, sending her flying backwards into the marine base.
Nadalee Canon: WINNER MORRIGAN
”RRROOOOOOAAAAAAAAARRRR”
The Godzilla figure lets out a massive roar as she stares down the marine base she was so intent on destroying. She inhaled, preparing to unleash a large beam to end this war once and for all, but her breath suddenly came to a stop.
“How disappointing… I didn’t expect to have to step up so soon.” Admiral Seidokyoi’s orange-suited, seemingly body-less form floated above the giant lizard, having taken all of the oxygen out of the air around her head.
Morrigan flailed her arms, desperately trying to swat the admiral out of the sky like she had done to Nadalee, but her haki-less claws couldn’t touch the logia user.
SMASH
Destroying part of the marine base wall, Morrigan’s massive body slammed into the ground as the admiral gently drifted back toward the ground. “Well that’s one problem taken care of.”
“Yes, unfortunately it seems that mutt of a supernova has turned some of our own against us…” Admiral Ginkasha sneered as she looked out at the large force of marines and fishmen marching toward the marine base led by Abraham Kennedy and “Noodlebeard” Yaki.
“I’d say that’s far from our biggest problem here…” Admiral Kinryu muttered as he stared at the ongoing battle between the marine Fleet Admiral and the resident Yonko.
The most decisive battle was coming to a close as Gin and Sera fought seemingly neck and neck. Their shockwaves of haki rippled through even the ocean. On the ground were the remains of Gin’s broken armor and bisento. His wild beard and hair ragged with each interaction as the immense power of the Gura Gura no mi’s shockwaves connected with Sera’s dark purple orbs. Blood running down Sera’s arm off her mangled hand. The hand was now useful for nothing other than to remind the Fleet Admiral that she could not let this man land a clean hit.
“Look at what's around you. You pirates are failing. You can not stop Justice from succeeding any longer.” The Fleet Admiral scorned as she motioned to the battlefield below. A scene of not so certain outcomes laid below, but still She was confident the Marines were superior.
“Kahahaha. Miss Illustrious, Dear, look around you. We aren’t going anywhere. The age of pirates has been prosperous since before me and will still be, long after you or I are dead. This age of piracy is no long just about piracy. It's rebellion, It’s freedom...from this suffocating world.” Gin said with a grin as he outstretched his arms. Seemingly leaving him wide open. “This age will not end. Not as long as there are people like mine.”
Sera’s scorn turned to a face of absolute disdain as Gin stood with a smug smirk as his words rang through the leader of the marines. “Well then,” Sera hissed through her teeth, “you will die along with this age of piracy!”
A mass of orbs burst from the Fleet Admiral’s body. It was a much larger amount that would no doubt indiscriminately eviscerate everything around her. She was done with this fight, and wanted to see it have a quick end so that she could have the final word.
Gin’s cannibal teeth shined through his messy beard. “That wouldn’t be the first time I’ve heard you say that!” he said with a prideful tone as he outstretched both his hands and began to emanate shockwaves.
“But it will be the last!” Sera yelled in wide-eyed fury. With a swipe of her good hand, all the orbs launched forwards at once. The wave of anti-matter ate away at the very air the two breathed. A horrendous sound came from the void it created. Gin stood proudly, clapping his hands together in a thunderous boom as a conic shaped shockwave blasted forth, deflecting all the orbs that would’ve eaten his very flesh away.
“Nice try, Fleet Admiral,” he said with sarcasm in his words, “but it looks like you missed!”
Sera’s determination didn’t falter. She remained calm and even let out a maniacal laugh, “Kahahaha!” Gin stood puzzled. The Fleet Admiral had absolutely nothing to laugh about. The Apocalypse Captain shrugged as he began his next attack, but the sense of danger escalated. His observation haki caught wind of an incoming attack.
“But these ones did not miss!” Sera yelled, in a triumphant tone. Her eyes were wide with anticipation as Gin found himself completely surrounded by the purple balls of destruction. Silence filled the air as waves of orbs came at him from every angle. He swat frantically, knocking them away as fast as they came. They flew in dozens at a time, and each time he bat them away with his shockwaves, more and more were created. Sera had put in every last ounce of her strength into her final assault. To kill the beast, it had to be overwhelmed.
Gin’s mind was too focused on the orbs. There was no way he could have been prepared for Sera’s dash of soru. She fully intended on ending the age of piracy with the very sword she had carried as a child.
SHING!
To the Marine’s amazement and to the Apocalypse Pirate’s dismay, they all stood in shock as Sera’s sword punctured through Gin’s heart.
With a voice full of malice, Sera finally got the final word, “Good riddance, old friend!”
SCHOOOM!!!
A violent flash of purple erupted from the blade, completely hollowing out the chest cavity of the Apocalypse Pirate Captain.
As she pulled her blade out and flicked the man’s blood on the ground, she muttered one final remark, “And may our paths never cross again, here or in the afterlife”
She sheathed her blade and walked away, expecting to hear Gin’s body hit the dirt. As her powerful heels clacked along the ground, they wouldn’t be followed by the sound of Gin’s collapse.
One final breath from Gin boomed out over Fishman Island. “PIRATES,” Gin began, his face already darkening, “My era... was a fun one, but now, all you youngsters out there, it is time for you to pick up where I left off! I leave to you the burning torch of piracy that I was honored to carry. Keep the dream alive, and let the torch ignite your spirits and light the way forwards! It is your time now! And to the sons and daughters of the Apocalypse, the end was always nigh, but this is our final goodbye.”
It was obvious to all he wouldn't be walking off this wound. The cannibal had eaten many men, and when he saw his own organs spilling out, he knew it was his time. Cries and screams could be heard following his final speech. Gintoki died that day knowing he was leaving big shoes empty, but he knew there were some rookies out there with the drive to fill them.
Sera turned to face the man, angry and ready to shout again, but by the time her head turned, the Yonko had died. She tilted her head to the ground and kept walking, leaving some parting words under her breath, “Even in death, you still have the audacity to get the final word in.”
Gintoki, captain of the Apocolypse Pirates, had perished at the hands of Fleet Admiral Sera.
An eery silence fell over the whole of Fishman Island, as warriors on both sides of the conflict came to terms with the passing of one of the four emperors of the New World. But just as the silence started, it came to a close as the earth itself seemingly began to rumble.
“Wha-? But he’s-!” Sera turned back toward the battlefield, shocked at this development.
“It isn’t him.” Kinryu growled. “It’s them.”
This war was no longer about defending an island near and dear to the Yonko’s heart. It was no longer about protecting a key part of the Apocalypse family. Now it was about vengeance.
A cloud of dust was kicked up behind a storming mass of New World pirates, all of whom had abandoned their defensive positions and began sprinting full speed toward the marine base, yelling battle cries at the top of their lungs every step of the way.
”DOWN WITH THE MARINES!”
”KILL THEM ALL!!”
”FOR GIIIIIN!”
“This is troublesome indeed.” Ginkasha quipped, raising a finger to her mouth with concern.
Even to a marine force with all three admirals as well as the fleet admiral still standing, an entire Yonko fleet charging at them with a thirst for blood was a dangerous prospect.
Sera paused, gritting her teeth at the new wave crashing against her shores. The smart thing to do would be a tactical retreat. Regroup on the surface and return later to finish the job once this rabble had calmed down. But they had come so far already. This was an opportunity to wipe a Yonko crew entirely off of the map, and the marines had all the pieces they ever would to make it happen.
“Kill them all.” She muttered with cold indifference. No matter what happened next, she knew it would change the course of history. It was just a matter of how.
”Right.”
All three admirals responded with immense resolve as the pirate swarm closed in. It was time to take action.
The cobblestone streets surrounding the marine base were covered in blood, though the pile of bodies covered up the sight. What started as a political invasion turned into what was possibly the most deadly battle in the history of the world. None of the Apocalypse crew remained standing, and only one Admiral had managed to survive.
A power vacuum had been torn open in the New World. But who would be able to fill it?
This is the end of SHRPG 2.0! We are officially planning to skip ahead to 3.0 after the mod team finishes making some changes to systems and developing the next story line. But we want the players to be involved too! Tell us in the comments (feel free to RP it a bit or just OOC it) what happens next for your 2.0 character, as well as whether you want them to become a mod-controlled NPC of some sort in 3.0. We can’t guarantee anything, but we will do our best to meet everyone’s desires for their characters.
Until 3.0, stay safe and healthy folks!
Hello everyone! Congratulations to everyone for completing the Fifty Third Fortnight in StrawHatRPG 2.0! Many of you have been with us since the previous iteration, and we appreciate it tons! I hope you are having as much fun as we are, and we hope this keeps going on for a very, very long time!
It’s time for everyone to get their stats! Here’s an explanation for the System and stat calculator
The way it works is, there will be a link to the stats sheet at the bottom of this post. When you open it, you’ll find two tabs in the bottom left corner. Log will contain the history of your stat progression. Ranking+Grading is the sheet where your new stats will be written down, as well as a comparison of stats for all the players’ stats.
All the calculations have been done already, in the blue column. If you are having difficulty in understanding, or require help, ask in the comments section below your stats distribution. An explanation for the system of how stats are earned is also given in the link above.
In the ranking+grading sheet, the “Total stats allocated” column (blue) contains the total stat points available to you to assign to your character and the Stat Split Column contains the distribution of physical and mental stats. You can assign them in your stats in a 60:40 split. This means 60% of the stat points can be assigned as you wish between Stam, Str and Spd. Similarly, 40% of the stats can be assigned as you wish between Dex and Will.
Please comment the distribution of the allotted stats below. If you need to know the break up of your stats after level and how they were calculated, please put it at the bottom of your comment.
Below the stat allocation, players must also list out any new Proficiency and Occupation Perks that they wish to add to their characters as shown below.
For Occupations please keep the order in which you list the occupations consistent across forts. For example if you have listed your Occupations as: Doctor (1) and Navigator (2), continue the same order across all forts.

“Unbelievable. The nerve. I can’t believe this at all. The ABSOLUTE nerve!! EEEEEAAAAGHH!!”
Tsar’s fist smashed into the palace wall with full force, punching a hole straight through the stone into the next room. At his feet was a fishman, his regular messenger, broken and battered on his knees.
“I know it’s hard to accept, but it’s the truth,” Raya said coldly, glaring down at the messenger. “Here’s the baby Den-Den he was using to contact them,” she added, dropping a small transponder snail wearing a Marine hat in front of the victim. “The Marines must have known you’d trust one of our own, so it would be easier as a spy. We owe a great debt to those rookies, Abraham Kennedy ‘The Infernal’ and Morrigan ‘The Queen of the Monsters’. They caught this cretin and brought him to me. How long have you had this one?”
“... A year.” Tsar turned back to face the kneeling fishman, a fire swelling in his eyes. “Have you been with them this whole time? Did they offer you money? YOU DAMN SPY! DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU’VE DONE? WHY WOULD YOU BETRAY YOUR PEOPLE?” He backhanded the helpless prisoner, who crunched into the floor and coughed up more blood.
“Don’t bother. I’ve already… spoken with him,” Raya sighed, flicking a bit of blood off of her long stinger. “He’s been a mole this whole time, but he doesn’t know when they were planning on forming this garrison. He’s been a lot busier for the past month, though. Isn’t that right?”
“Y-yes…” wheezed the spy, his barely conscious eyes focusing on Tsar. “You… you’re still just a pirate. A Shichibukai, even. You ...gasp... give our people a bad name, and drag them into violence when many want peace. The Marines will… keep… the people safer than y-you could…”
As he slipped into unconsciousness, Triton rose from his seat and lifted the spy by the collar. “Will you allow me the honor of killing this whelp?” he growled, opening his massive jaws.
“...Wait. Not yet.” Tsar’s voice calmed as he stared at New Bublem in the distance in deep thought. “We can use him for now. I promise, though; you’ll get your meal soon.” The massive lionfish picked up the baby Den-Den off the floor and turned it on.
“OI! MARINE SHITHEADS!!” he roared into the transponder. “We’ve got your shitty spy. You’ve got 12 hours to get off of Fishman Island, or we’ll kill him and consider it espionage.” With that, he crushed the snail in his massive webbed hands, throwing the debris to the floor.
A look of concern crossed Raya’s face. “Tsar. Finn hasn’t returned yet. Are you sure we can afford to start a fight yet?”
“The time for waiting has passed. They wanted to play games... Let’s see what sort of game they want to play now.”
------
“ADMIRAL KINRYU! ADMIRAL KINRYU!!”
A marine captain tore through the base of New Bublem towards the high ranking officer’s tent. Approaching two guards at the door, he screeched to a halt. Both seemed rather pale and didn’t particularly react at the arrival of their superior officer.
“I need to speak with Kinryu-sama!! It’s about-”
“The spy. They already know,” one of the guards murmured in a dream-like trance. “He got caught. Go ahead with your report, sir, but you should know before you do…”
“The other admirals have arrived, and they’re meeting inside.”
“...well, what do YOU think we should do, Kinryu?”
The floating girl scritched the chin of one of her tiny red cats. As she floated above her chair cross-legged, Admiral Ginkasha continued. “You don’t think we should negotiate, but you also don’t want to let them die. Are you suggesting we march on Fishman Island right now over a Cipher Pol agent? They knew what they were getting into with such a dangerous mission.”
“Doing nothing is out of the question,” Admiral Kinryu snorted, smoke fuming down from his nostrils. The gentleman sat tensely in his large chair. “Are you suggesting we let Tsar do whatever he likes? If we let him kill our men, who knows what sort of demands he’ll make next? We can’t negotiate with a man like him, or we’ll continue to lose more footing than we already have here.”
“You don’t even care about the spy themselves, just the appearances. I should have known,” Ginkasha retorted, clearly annoyed. “So, we’re starting a war, right now, over this? I thought the whole point was we had to wait for the Fleet Admiral to-”
“We started a war the moment the three of us set foot on this island,” came a third voice echoing out of an empty suit sitting with its legs propped up on a small desk lazily. The collar of the shirt was quite clearly empty of any solid substance, yet the cloth vibrated as it spoke. “We’re still in position. They don’t have the troops to do anything, even if they make threats. We have our orders from up top; let’s just relax until those change.”
“You’d recommend we do nothing if Tsar walked through that door this instant, Seidokyoi!!” cried Kinryu. “We’re expected to do some decision making at our status, and there’s no time more critical to act than now.”
“Not true!” Admiral Seidokyoi complained, the suit lowering its legs and sitting upright. A shimmering, gaseous form could be spotted within the sleeves of the suit as it moved. “Our orders specifically state to take care of any of Tsar’s men that set foot in this camp, including himself, so he’d be as dead as anyone else. But since he’s NOT here, why act now, and risk wasting that effort when the Fleet Admiral will just give us new orders when she gets here?”
“You’re both insufferable,” Ginkasha clicked her tongue. “Let’s not do anything rash when we don’t have to. Send an envoy, a captain or commodore with a squad. Not one of us; it’ll just provoke him and accelerate the fighting. Are there any on standby able to face Tsar with any dignity?”
“Nobody’s got the guts to stand off against a Warlord except Commodore Numen, unless we send a rear or vice admiral, or go ourselves,” Kinryu said stoically, his hands folded in thought. “You’re sure we shouldn’t send someone of higher rank?”
“Ginky is right,” Suidokyoi mused. “Any sort of ‘admiral’ will tick him off. If we’ve got to send someone, we should send a Commodore. We’ll inform Numen at once.”
“I told you, don’t call me that.”
------
“...And who the hell are you?”
Tsar glared maliciously at the burly human standing in front of his palace throne. The marine returned a stare as hateful, standing strong as his men hid behind him. “I’m Commodore Numen of the Navy. I’m here to demand the release of our ambassador, who you’ve mistreated.”
“Ambassador? Is that what you’re calling this scum, now?” Triton jeered, kicking the spy in the ribs and sending him flying into the wall behind the salty throne. “You heard our terms. Are you here to give yourself over as an offering or something to apologize?”
“I’m here to remind you of your place,” Numen snarled. “You’re a Shichibukai. The World Government OWNS you. I have a transponder snail if you want to talk to my superiors, but…” the marine paused, looking back to his underlings.
“You creatures never really listen to reason, do you? All you know is violence. Fish bastards. Ptooh!”
“HAAAA! Interesting!” Tsar leapt to his feet with a start, a fire in his eyes. “The peacemaker tries to start a fight, then calls us the violent ones! It seems the Marines have disrespected me by sending their biggest moron to negotiate.”
Numen’s forehead grew red with anger. “I was sent because I’m one of the toughest men on the force. I’m the scourge of the New Generation, and one day I’ll be an admiral too to deliver my justice on the world.”
“Getting a little too old for that ‘one day’ nonsense, aren’t you?” Raya chided, filing her tail idly.
The commodore took a deep breath. “You pirates will never learn your place, will you? New Generation, Old Generation, Warlords, even the Yonko- you’re all the same. You’re just barnacles to be scraped off our war machine of progress.”
The three fishmen looked to each other for a moment before bursting out laughing.
“AHAHA!! You’re gonna scrape us, huh? What a laugh!” Tsar bellowed.
“Was the Navy’s strategy to send a comedian to put us off our guard or something?” snorted Triton.
“Hoo hoo! My sides! My sides!” shrieked Raya in a fit of giggles.
“...”
“You won’t be laughing for long, you fish freaks”
BANG!
The pistol shot rang through the halls of the Palace, the gun in Numen’s hand billowing with smoke. The projectile, a haki-coated bullet, spun in place in Tsar’s fingers, whose face had dropped dead-serious. “COME ON, THEN!” Bellowed Numen, rolling up his sleeves and leaping at the Warlord. “I’LL PROVE THE NAVY’S STRENGTH TO YOU- RIGHT NOW!”
“Fishman Karate…”
“Five Thousand Tile True Punch.”
----
“Hah… hah… hah…”
Commodore Numen dangled helplessly on Tsar’s thick arm, the fist having penetrated straight through his sternum. “I would have just beaten and humiliated you, you know,” Tsar whispered as the life quickly drained from his opponent’s eyes. “But you made one critical, fatal mistake.”
“You compared me to that wretched New Generation. You think you can impress me by chasing those kids around? I am LEAGUES above any of those rookies, and it’s the last thing you’ll ever hear.”
The corpse slid off of Tsar’s arm onto the cold floor. "HE was really the scourge of the New Generation?" Triton chuckled, giving Numen's body a tentative kick. "They must be even weaker than I thought. Maybe the New World won't be interesting this year after all."
"Round up his men; their fate will be the same as the spy’s," Tsar muttered as he stared off at New Bublem wistfully. “Raya. Triton. It’s time. It won’t take long for them to find out about this… Prepare yourselves.”
“...Yo!”
The three fishmen turned to a welcome sight.
“FINN!!” cried Raya and Triton simultaneously.
“HAAAA!! Looks like our luck hasn’t run out after all, huh?” Hollered Tsar. “Good news, I hope?”
The shark fishman wore a sharp, toothy smirk. “You know it. You did well to hold out so long, you know; that Navy fleet out there’s really no joke. It’s all set up now, though. Whenever you want to get it started, he’ll be there.”
Tsar grinned, beating his chest triumphantly. “Are you saying what I think you’re saying? Go on. SAY THE WORDS!!!”
Grin.
“The Apocalypse is Nigh.”
------
“He- he’s holding something, Admiral Ginkasha!! I can’t make out what it is…”
A tiny floating cat snatched the binoculars out of the marine scout’s hands and tossed them up to the tiny girl, who peered through with a click of her tongue. “Damn it. It’s Numen. That idiot… we told him to mediate, not start a fight. I'll give Kinryu an earful on his recommendations later.” She handed the binoculars back to their owners, barking to the rest of the marine camp.
“Commodore Numen is dead. Tsar is flaunting his head off his palace walls. He’s declared war on the World Government by killing a high-ranking officer during negotiations. Get to the ships.”
“No more playing around. We’re taking Fishman City- right now.”
----
"This will make SUCH a good scene for my Manga!!" "Bara Ibara" Kasuza said excitedly, growing a twig on his finger and sticking it in his teeth. "Such a shame about the city, though. I truly wish we could leave out the civilians… well, what should I call this chapter? Maybe "Titans Clash! The Warlord and the Navy Face Off!!... no, maybe that's uninspired…hmmm..."
"My new peers!" “Okibouzu” Zetsuki exclaimed upon joining the mash up of characters. He raised his arms in mock excitement as he tried to live up to his eccentric millionaire esteem. He even had a special medallion pinned to his lapel for the networking occasion: Imuet's Pendant. The more astute of the pirates in the room would perhaps recognize it and understand the unspoken jab the leopard took at one of the minks who previously held the position of Shichibukai. The closed umbrella he carried rattled a bit as he prepared to shake the hands of the warlords he hadn't met before. "I am Zetsuki, the founder, CEO, and Boss of the Red Rum Company. Here, take my card. I look forward to doing business with you all, but to be blunt, I figured you guys would be taller. And aren't we missing one of the seven? Jehaha, how unprofessional."
"It’s been a while since I’ve tried fishmen." The voice of "The Insatiable" Kraven carried no humor as he stroked his wolf, Jase-san, staring down at the troops below. The Navy's ships were just crossing the chasm between the two cities, and Marines were already making landfall near Fishman City. He eyed the medallion on the rookie’s suit, recognizing its previous owner and examining its new one. “That’s the man who defeated Imuet. The strong consume the weak, as it should be,” he growled to his animal companion, looking down at the card thrust into his fingers. “If this rookie or any other believes for a moment they are the former, you’ve my permission to show them otherwise.”
“Hey, hey, it’s like a little new-family get together!” Yaris “the Carp” grinned, studying the more senior Shichibukai with his single beady eye curiously. “Let’s do a lil’ bonding. Anyone wanna bet on who can take out the most guys, or maybe who can take out the least without getting fired? Doesn’t really matter either way.”
“Haha! I’ll take your bet tenderfoot! Be careful or you’ll end up sleeping with the fishes too!” “Noodle Beard” Yaki chuckled. He knew the rookie could hold his own in a one on one, but was curious how he would hold up in such a chaotic environment.
As the forces from both sides began to clash, Tsar stood back waiting for the Admirals to join the frey. A shadow was cast across the battlefield as a massive marine warship descended from above. A tall woman stood wordless on the prow, her intimidating gaze piercing down directly at Tsar. One single bead of sweat ran down the mighty fishman’s forehead as their eyes met, then a smirk spread across his face. This was precisely the reason him and Finn calibrated. They could not handle the three Admirals- and Fleet Admiral Sera Illustious - all at once without help.
But help was no longer an issue as Tsar pulled out a den-den mushi, which had been connected to the speaker system strung all throughout the Fishman’s kingdom, and with a calm demeanor spoke. “A little assistance would be very much appreciated right now.”
“KAHAHAHA!! We already have her in our sights.” The voice on the other side of the den den muchi chuckled. Seconds later another large ship rose up from under the underwater bubble, blocking the Fleet Admiral’s ship from entering Fishman Island. The skull and crossbones jolly roger with the wild beard could only mean it was none other than Gintoki “The Cannibal”, one of the four Emporers that ruled the second half of the Grand Line.
Standing on the deck of Gintoki’s flagship, The Mountain, was the giant of a man himself and his Commanders: 1st Division Commander Kobss “The Behemoth”, 2nd Division Commander “Lightning Seeker” Ayokunle, and 3rd Division Commander “Burning Blade” Lewis Infrea.
“Good job hanging in there for so long, my friend," The Yonko Gin’s words rang out over the speaker. "Or should I say…"
"4th Division Commander Tsar.”
“It finally makes sense.” Kinryu cursed as he stroked his long beard.
“What? How long has he been playing us?” Ginkasha scowled, expressing her displeasure as even her cat umbrella had angry eyes.
“It doesn’t matter how longer he has been in Gintoki’s hand. In fact this is perfect. Being under a man such as that means he is now officially disbarred from the Shichibukai.” Seidokyoi yawned.
“We’ll handle the big guns down there.” Kobss said, looking down at the three Admirals.
“Kahaha, show the world WHY we are the strongest.” Gin chuckled as he looked across to Fleet Admiral Sera, and with a wave of his hand the three commanders, using bubble coral, jumped off the ship and headed towards the battle that had already started. Pulling out his polearm Gin stared upwards at the world’s strongest marine, but both stood locked in a standoff as the battle began to intensify. How would the two titans clash surrounded by the sea in all directions?
“So. Tsar’s been working under you this whole time? No wonder he has been so defiant.” Sera said as she drew her rapier, creating a dark black and purple orb at the end of the tip. “If you think you can do whatever you want, you have another think coming. As the figurehead of the marines I vow to end your reign over these seas here and now.”
As the three Commanders pierced through the bubble and began to fall through the air, they were quickly intercepted in midair as Seidokyoi turned into pure gas and surrounded them, clouding their vision as multiple Homies created by Ginkasha swarmed the group, only to be followed up as Kinryu transformed fully into a large golden hued dragon, and created a large beam of pure draconic energy at the commanders.
A plume of large smoke engulfed the sky, a large object curled up in a ball began to fall from it. It was Kobss, completely covered in diamond. He used himself as a shield to block the Admirals’ attacks. As he hit the ground, he uncurled himself to reveal the other two Commanders completely unharmed. Though Kobss was slower to raise than the others, he too made it firmly onto his feet.
“As Expected, they took that welcome rather well.”Ginkasha joked as she and her compatriots stood face to face with them.
----
Watching in horror from atop one of the high walls of Fishman City, “Burning Blood” John staggered at the sight of the massive fleet rising from the depths to meet the Navy armada. “No… This is bad. This is really bad!!” he shouted. “This city will be turned to rubble with a fight like this! There’s- there’s no time to evacuate everyone!” He drew a baby den-den mushi from his coat and barked into it in panic. “Zorcun! Parcival!! Can you hear me? Do you see this? We- we have to…”
“...”
“Truly, this is the end of all things.”
Hello everyone! Congratulations to everyone for completing the Forty Sixth Fortnight in StrawHatRPG 2.0!

With Sabaody Archipelago providing a brief period of respite for weary travelers, the newly invigorated “New Generation” must face their first challenge entering the New World: making the perilous cross through Fishman land. Positioned directly underneath the Red Line, this haven of merpeople and fishmen alike waits in the depths for only the bravest of explorers. A coated ship is protected from the immense pressure, but not the variety of dangers that lurk in wait of unassuming crews. Take care not to let a hungry leviathan, an enemy vessel, or a deep-water swell break your coating, or your ship will never see the tides of the new world like many that have come before and surely will come after.
Following the log pose downwards and traversing the dangers of the depths will reward pirates with the sight of Fishman Island. Two enormous bubbles provide air, light, and shelter for those not well suited for life on the sea bed. The first bubble encountered is filled with a gleaming city, with houses made from shells and corals and decorated with glittering pearls. Here, the Coral Citadel of the Fishman people stands tall in the very center of the island, clearly the crown jewel of fishman architecture. This larger bubble, Fishman City, is home to the great leader of all fishman and his followers- the Warlord of the sea, “The Tsunami” Tsar!!!
In contrast, the second bubble, once a residential district and rest stop for travelers aiming their sights at the new world, was now completely converted into a marine base. The intricate coral buildings now accompanied by the surface’s architecture created a vast contrast with the land as a large World Government flag waved overhead near the top of the bubble. The large symbol of a seagull painted over the side of the croal facing Fishman City. This portion of the majestic fishman kingdom was simply known as Bublem.
At the center of Bublem, was a large building, formerly used as a luxury hotel for travels and pirates. Now it is the HQ of the marines.Inside the HQ high level marines were having the day’s briefing. At the head of the table sat a middle aged looking man, stroking his long beard as he stared down at the map of Fishman City and the royal palace. His ornate robes and tall marine cap contrasted his now-serious demeanor as he poured over the briefing.
“Mrs. Winterwind, please continue” Said the older gentleman, staring up at the pink haired woman. His eyes glaring at the woman expecting good news. They couldn’t wait much longer. The fishmen were getting more and more restless to their appropriation of the second bubble.
“Of course, Admiral Kinryu*. As I was saying,* Vice Admiral Tribunali and his soldiers arrived earlier today as well Kraven Voreese who is being watched by Rear Admiral Asher as to keep him in check until the time the Warlords are needed. We also received word that the rest of our reinforcements are on their way led by the Fleet Admiral.**” Vice Admiral Nadalee Winterwind spoke, relaying the day’s updates to the Admiral.
“Good. Good. And what news of the new Schichibukai?” Kinryu asked inquisitively.
“They should be arriving shortly as well. Boarden has already given them their orders and they should have left Saboady by now. As for the rest of them, unfortunately....” Nadalee paused. Choking on her own voice as she continued. “Unfortunately Langris will not be showing up.”
“WHAT? What do you mean he is not showing up?” Kinryu’s temper began to flare, smoke releasing from his nostrils as he took a deep breath awaiting the Vice-Admiral’s response.
“He said he will not be coming. His exact words were...and I quote “If you want to disavow my Warlordship then do it, but we both know you won’t” Nadelee finished speaking and waited for Kinryu to explode. But to her surprise he didn’t.
“This is why I fucking hate the warlord system. As soon as they join they stop fearing us.” The Admiral snarled. His nostrils flaring, but he was keeping himself under control. He would just have to take his anger out on Tsar if he didn’t back down.
Elsewhere on the base sat a muscled man with tattoos lining his body eating a large drumstick. Of what beast it belonged to was unknown as it was far too big to be any normal creature as it was nearly the size of his head. At his feet sat a massive pitch black saber toothed tiger gnawing on what appeared to be the sister drumstick.
“I can’t believe this. Why did I have to be stuck babysitting you?” The familiar sharp tongue of Asher rang out, breaking up the sound of munching and teeth gnashing of the voracious eater.
“If you don’t want to be here then don’t. I’m not wanting for an escort ya know.” The tattooed man chimed in, mouth still full as he took another bite of meat into his mouth.
“You know damn well I was assigned to you because we can’t trust you, Kraven” Asher’s voice rose, annoyed by the man talking with food in his mouth. “And shouldn’t you have that beast on a leash? He might…”
“No. Jase-san is well trained. He won’t do a damn thing unless I give the signal.” Kraven’s tone was threatening, as if he was telling Asher he could give the signal to attack him at any moment.
“Okay, Okay. Where in the world did you even get that hulking beast anyway?” Asher said, changing the subject and trying to diffuse the situation. The last thing she want was to cause a scene while an Admiral was on base.
“I found him on a remote island in the new world. Trust me, he wasn’t an easy one to train. Gnah ah ah…” Kraven laughed remembering the harsh trail it was to get Jase as obedient as he was.
---
Meanwhile, off in the far reaches of the main bubble, in an inlit lies a small group of ships docked to the coral reef. The shallowness of the bay allowing the men to unload their large amount of supplies with relative ease.
“All right you lot, We need to unload this shipment before the transfer time. We are expected to deliver half of these here, then deliver the rest to the marine camp on Bublem.” Ocho stood with her oversized Katana on her back, her arms crossed as she barked orders.
“Why are we helping the marines? Isn't that bad for us?” Could be heard from the group of people carrying a large crate.
“It’s simple. They are paying us. Besides, They won’t try to attack us. They know they can't take Me down without wasting resources. Resources they are going to need to take control of this bubble.” Ocho’s perspective was correct. Though normally the marines would do everything in their power to put an end to their trade, their hands were too full and they needed all the help they could get.
---
“Emperor Tsar!! Emperor Tsar!!”
A fishman soldier rushed into the undersea palace, his gills panting heavily. A tall, older Red Lion fishman sat up from a throne of decorative corals, his brow furrowed in concern as he put up a hand to hush a chattering assistant. “The marines- another three ships just arrived. They just docked at Bublem, and they’re unloading, not resupplying. What do we do??”
“UWAAAA!” the lionfish bellowed in frustration. “That confirms it. They’re surely here to stay; they’ve never had half the numbers stationed here before that they do now.” He jumped to his feet, the spines on his back bristling in agitation. “YOU COWARDLY MARINES!! Invade our home and pretend like you’re performing ‘routine surveillance?’ Humans really frustrate me sometimes.”
The grisled lionfish cracked his knuckles as he stared out the high windows of his palace, glaring down the city of Bublem where his enemies lay waiting. His messenger scooted out of the way, less out of fear than out of respect; it was fairly known that the Emperor of Fishman Island wouldn’t lay a hand on a fishman messenger.
“I think that’s our last chance for resolving this without bloodshed,” Tsar grumbled through gritted teeth. His mistrust of the marines was growing by the day- and rightly so, as they were getting bolder by the day. They had even transformed his own land to better fit their needs with their flags! The seasoned Shichibukai wasn’t stupid, and he knew the World Government KNEW he wasn’t stupid- they were trying to start a fight on his home turf. “We’re gonna have to act soon before they land any more ships.”
“YEA!!” Cried a burly bull-shark fishman seated adjacent to Tsar, leaping to his feet immediately after his leader. “Emperor- please. We’ve already been weak enough letting these humans through our island- let’s just kick them out! They can’t beat us, not while we hold the advantage of the tides!” He ripped his leather vest, tearing out stitches that seemed to be recently re-sown as if the garb required constant repair. “LET’S SHOW THESE PUNKS THE MIGHT OF THE FISHMAN EMPIRE, RIGHT NOW!!”
“Hmm. You already know why we’re not going to do that, Tritan,” A voice came from the other side of the throne. A beautiful manta-ray fishman sat idly on a slightly larger and slightly more ornate throne than the bull shark’s, filing her long stinger with a shining obsidian whetstone. She sighed. “We’ve been over this. Start a fight with the marines now, and we could endanger Tsar’s Shichibukai status too soon. We need some time to do some skulking of our own.” The manta ray looked up boredly from her duty, her eyes lighting up as she recognized the form strolling casually from the entrance of the castle. “Oh! I didn’t realize the only other man smarter than the Emperor himself would be coming by already! Finn, can you explain to Triton why we’re not going to charge the largest military force in the world head-on without a bit of preparatory work first?”
“I’m not sure you’ll find anyone in the castle that can talk slow enough for that task, Raya,” The grinning figure chided, leaning casually against a wall a distance away from the throne of his troubled leader. The bull shark’s rage inflated for a moment, but facing his superior he sighed in disappointment and slumped back into his chair. It didn’t seem to be a wholly unfamiliar experience to the shark brimming with bravado. “Tsar, I’ve got news. I’ve met with that man, and he’s willing to lend direct aid in this Marine infestation. Do you have a minute for the details?”
“HAAA! Just the shark I wanted to see!” Clapped Tsar loudly, smiling confidently as his eyes softened at the newcomer. “Excellent. That’s just excellent. I assume you already knew about the three new ships, and informed him? Not that that will change the mind of a man like him.”
“Naturally.” The toothy shark grin shone out from the dark silhouette, his arms folded confidently. “They know the situation better than you, probably. Your scouts could use some practice from the looks of it; maybe I’ll give them a lesson after this is all over?” He smirked, looking to the messenger fishman whose eyes lit up in anticipation and respect.
Finn’s confident grin wavered for a moment, looking back to his leader. “You… haven’t heard anything from Rosli, have you, boss? It’s- well, it’s been a while since I’ve heard from her since I sent my letter, and…”
“Sorry, Finn,” Raya responded with an air of sadness. “I know how much you miss her, but… The Deus Familia is completely tied up right now. Their dispute with Xavier in the New World is… well, it’s not pretty.” Tsar’s expression remained stoic at the news, staring down his most trusted lieutenant to gauge his reaction at the bad news.
The toothy smile disappearing for only a moment, the shark fishman shook his head and returned his grin. “That’s ok. We have enough on our plate as is. I have no doubt in her abilities- and I guess her boss is pretty ok, too.”
“Oh, I’d like to sit in on this, too,” Raya added calmly, releasing her long tail and standing slowly. “I need to talk to you about those rookies that reached out to us. “Burning Blood” John was one of them, and I believe the other was named “Reptophile” Zorcun Eldross. While I wouldn’t usually like taking help from humans, especially rookies… I did a bit of research, and they seem to be the real deal. We can use any help we can get.”
“Of course. Let’s begin.” Tsar’s concerned expression turned to resolve, his voice booming as he clenched his fist tightly in anticipation and he turned towards the war room for the strategy meeting. “If the World Government thinks that the Fishman people will play dead and let them do as they please just to hold our Warlord status, then…”
“They’re dead wrong.”

Or don’t I’m not your mother, just don’t complain when you don’t get cool loot.
Hello everyone! Congratulations to everyone for completing the Forty Second Fortnight in StrawHatRPG 2.0!

Tap Tap Tap Tap
“He’s late”
Vidas’ was getting impatient. Langris was supposed to arrive five minutes ago and as much as he believed in the man’s reputation, the revolutionary could not help but worry. Owing to the “Debt Collector” wasn’t a small deal, although as long as he could have June by his side once again, that wouldn’t matter.
“Calm down buddy, he’ll deliver”
“WOOF!”
A much more soothing voice answered behind the unofficial commander. The stubbled man sported a relaxed attitude as always, although behind that calm expression, the anticipation was eating at his soul as well. “There’s no way he wouldn’t deliver, right?” Clutching on tighter to an amulet of bone, he banished the thought to the back of his mind.
Lyka was quick to ease Veldrin’s concerns, licking the tips of his fingers to draw his attention.
Finally, two silhouettes were seen at the horizon. One was easily recognised by the two men. It was the woman they were both waiting for with so much worry. June, Veldrin’s lover and Vidas’ sister. In unison, both men’s mouths cracked in a satisfied smile. Especially Vidas’, every single pore of his body was ecstatic.
The man besides June kept up a casual waltz, a large toothy grin making it clear that he was pretty happy with how things were turning out. A favour by the famed “Bleeding heart”. That should be useful at some point right? The revolutionaries were starting to mobilise as of late, maybe he could abuse that fact in the events that were sure to follow.
“Mr. “Bleeding heart”, “Golden smoke”. As promised”
Langris didn’t bother with further introductions, instead, he simply allowed June to run up to Vidas.
Slap
“You damn brat!”
As much as the woman would like to scold her little brother, their reunion took priority, meeting him after being imprisoned by the marines was supposed to be a joyous event. Pressing as it may have been, discussion about the… Incident would have to wait for later. Hugging the blonde man, she quickly threw a sharp glare at him, and before Vidas could properly say anything, she cut him off.
“We will talk about this later, ok?”
Vidas could only nod and sigh as a mild wave of frustration brewed up in his belly. He could always remember those ‘talks’ the two siblings had. Only this time, the stakes had risen much higher.
The woman quickly moved over to Veldrin, although before she could open her mouth to say anything or even attempt to hug him, the man pulled her close to tightly embrace her. All the worry and frustration of the previous days were washing away from his body. He always seemed to handle tough scenarios well, but both him and June knew that he was perhaps the one bothered most by her imprisonment.
With a small kiss on top of her hair, he just stood there and enjoyed the moment. They had been apart for far too long. The separated lovers savoured the embrace for but a moment, before a ball of fur on four legs jumped up at June, overflowing with joy and energy. “Yes Lyka,” the purple haired woman said as her the pitch of her voice jumped. “I’ve missed you too!”
Langris was obviously getting a bit awkward with the sugarcoated reunion. He didn’t care much about either of the three, he only wanted that one debt they would all owe him. With a small awkward laugh, the man pressed on with the conversation.
“I assume we are all satisfied with this exchange?”
He asked, rubbing his chin before throwing a cocky grin Vidas’ way. That man was one of the few he wasn’t expecting to ever strike a deal with, such a rare occasion ought to be savoured. Fishing the revolutionary’s reaction seemed like an interesting idea.
“Yes. The exchange is done.”
Vidas replied quickly, the bitter taste left in his tongue obviously affecting the words he uttered. Even then, he couldn’t do much about it, Langris had pulled through with his side of the deal, and for that, he could not help but be grateful.
Before turning away to leave, Langris glanced over at the sky for a few moments, excusing himself with just a couple of sentences.
“It looks like it’s going to rain soon…”
A peculiar sentence. No cloud could be spotted in the sky, and no news of a storm had reached the ears of the group. Hell, even the navigator of the Iconoclast hadn’t predicted something like that.
Walking away, Langris finally spoke the words Vidas was dreading.
“Oh, and don’t forget, you are now in my debt, ‘Bleeding heart’”
Soon after his silhouette was lost, and the trio were left to further enjoy their reunion. Although neither of them showed it, this man’s presence evidently bothered both Veldrin and Vidas.
“Shall we go back to the ship?”
Vidas asked, but before anyone could answer, the rain cut them off. Not your usual watery rain, no. This time the rain consisted of brown fliers, brown fliers and newspapers.
Although all of them remained surprised by what they were seeing, Veldrin was the one that spoke first, and with a light scoff, almost a parently one, he commented.
“The New Wave, eh?” he said with a smirk, a glint of nostalgia visible in his eyes
“These fuckers…” Vidas growled as his the grey paper crumpled under his clenched fist
“The new generation grows fast, pal. You better not fall behind ‘em, right?”
Veldrin’s voice followed, but without answering, Vidas simply began his walk towards the Iconoclast.
“Let’s get back to the ship”
A new generation of Supernovas*, huh…*
Soapy glistening bubbles cascaded over the rim of the mangrove swamp, a transient mirror reflecting the trees in rainbow rivers. Perfect spheres swirled and danced, floating gently on the summery breeze, drifting up and down, cascading over the ravine only to find the jagged edge of a tree’s leaf, stretching out in the sun. An inaudible pop, and another rises again.
The geographer who had named Sabaody Archipelago surely had left much to desire in the field, for it was as singular as it was monolithic. The non-archipelagic landmass was about the size of the Aqua Belt; from an aerial standpoint, all one could see on the circular island were the canopies of the towering mangroves. They towered to the skies, standing poised like colossal soldiers. Each one was larger and grander than any world trees that the pirates had ever witnessed, and as they sauntered through the forest of dreams, they would notice that each conifer was labelled with a number.
Cracking twigs resounded underfoot as a lone man trudged through the bustling city down below. The urban setting was weaved in intricately with the flora abound; a perfect blend of polarizing landscapes that resulted in a naturesque, concrete jungle. The sun sank beneath the tops of the pines, falling gently on his aged, bearded visage. Said man was as gruff as they came, a rough visage tinted with deep seated facial lines.Tribal tattoos ran across his forearms and kissed the side of his eye; the man was half shadow, every muscle flowing from light into the dark. And strapped to his back were a multitude of swords. Metal of every kind.
“Could he be…?”
“Is that…? No way.”
He continued to walk, eyes fixated on a piece of parchment - the latest newscoo article. They scanned through the pages with eyes glazed with raw confidence in his strength, but another emotion was held far deeper within them. Hunger perhaps? Not quite. Desire? Something even more passionate. Even more curious.
“Hmm… interesting…. Yawn….”
His feet carried him forth in its aimless saunter, eventually bringing him into a tavern.
Bump!
“HEY!”
He paid no attention to the pirate he brushed shoulders with. Still looking through the paper, he sat himself by the bar counter, and without so much as an upward glance, he murmured.
“Erm… one pint… tap. Yeah.”
The bartender sighed. “Sir, with all due respect, you need to pay up your tab. C’mon man, it's embarrassing for me, too. I don’t wanna keep asking…”
“...Yeah… mmm….”
No response. The mysterious swordsman was far too enamoured in the newspaper to even be engaged right now. The barkeep sighed, but just as he turned to the mahogany walls of his alcohol shelves, a loud clang could be heard, followed by an angry shout.
“OI OI, who the FUCK do you think you are?!” The pirate he had bumped into stood up. Now that he was on his two feet, he was probably a whole two feet shorter than him. Didn’t dissuade him, though.
A couple more voices called out behind him. “You arrogant asshole, look this way when the captain addresses you!” But the only response elicited was the large man tilting the pages around, flipping through them as slowly as would a breeze.
“Uhh… hmm…”
Anger boiled down into the pirate captain’s system, as hot as lava. “You… I’ll have you know, I’m a famous pirate. I won’t let you get away with--”
SHING!
The entire pub fell silent; the captain was still mid draw when suddenly, a large gash appeared across his chest. Eyes wide, still processing what had just happened, he then crashed into the floor in a dull, numbing thud. It was almost anti climatic; his crew stood, smirks and scowls frozen on their faces in pure shock.
Another wistful sigh escaped the bartender’s lips. “Dammit, You really need to stop doing that, sir Radegast. Think of my business man.”
“Huh?” Looking up confused, Radegast turned to the felled body beside him. “AHH! Fuck, when did that happen?”
“...You literally drew your sword.”
“HUH?” It was then that he noticed the nodachi in his right hand. Still dripping in blood, a pool of garish liquid started to pool from the tip of the blade.
“...GRUHUHUHUHU! Oh well, its self defense, right?”
Despite the lackadaisical disposition of the swordsman, murmurs started to echo through the tavern; everyone braced as they heard the unmistakable name uttered from the bartender’s lips. And judging from that subconscious quick draw, too fast for eyes to even perceive, it was hard to fake an identity that was tantamount to that level of skill.
“Y-y-y-y-you’re.. That Radegast? The World’s Greatest Swordsman?” A pirate stuttered, looking back between the man and his fallen captain. At that, Radegast turned around and smirked.
“Gruhuhu, I guess. Hey, you strong? Wanna spar?”
The group didn’t even try to drag their captain out of there as they high tailed out of the bar. Watching them stumble over their tables and chairs, Radegast let out another throaty laugh and picked up the unconscious body by the collar. His visage creviced a raised brow in evident curiosity, and at once, he started to flip through the Newscoo paper, eyes darting between the pages and the unconscious pirate captain. After a minute, he let out a disappointed grunt, and kicked back on his chair.
“AH! And when he said he was famous, too! Let alone a Supernova; he isn’t even part of this ‘New Generation’ everyone’s talking about! LAME!”
If he was irked before, the bartender’s exasperation had hit a whole new level. Drawing a palm to his face, he groaned softly. “...I’m adding the damages to your tab, sir.”
“W-wait, he said he’s famous! An-chan! Turn his bounty in. That’ll cover the tab. Easy.”
“...I suppose?”
The bartender blinked nervously. And that was Radegast, the World’s Greatest Swordsman, and quite possibly one of the strongest beings in the world we know.
-------
“Hmm….”
The bar had quietened out by now; an hour or so had passed, and the man still showed no signs of shifting his concentration anywhere else. The barkeep had finally finished clearing up the mess, and silently brought forth his twelfth mug of beer to his loyal customer. Most of the patrons had cleared out of the establishment by now; another misfortune of said regular. For a self proclaimed bounty hunter, his presence was pretty bad for business all around.
“Hmm…”
“Watcha reading?”
Radegast turned lazily to the silhouette that emerged from the woodworks. While it took the shape of a human, said being was covered in a wooden sort of armour from head to toe. Perhaps armour wasn’t the right word, either, for the material seemed to be a very part of his skin. Through his shinobi gear, the only noticeable feature of a human body were his two eyes that poked through. Radegast seemed to recognize the newcomer, however.
“YO! That’s Kasuza, isn’t it! Buddy, how are ye! Spar with me! I’ll kill you!”
“...I’m working, man.”
“Yo yo.” The man said excitedly, “Stop sending weak ass marines after me, man. And NO BRAWLERS!”
“Ahahaha,” The wood human laughed nervously, taking a seat next to him. “Lay off. Tribunali is strong, y’know. AND I’M NOT SENDING THEM I HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THA-”
“Brawlers are lame! I have an unfair advantage. That’s super lame. Give me a swordsman. A strong swordsman! You’re one of the seven mighty warlords! Do it!”
“...You’re giving me a headache. Oh, is that the latest Newscoo?”
“HEY!”
Snatching the parchment out of his hand, Kasuza skimmed the pages and ran his woody fingers across the bounty reports. “The Supernovas? ...Really?”
Radegast laughed, taking a huge swig of his drink as he looked towards his companion. With eyes as excitable as a child’s, he beamed toothily. “YEAH! They’re strong, right?”
“...Bro, like, they’re still rookies.”
“I wanna fight one! It’ll be fun!”
“...I get they’re strong, but--”
“I WANNA FIGHT THEM!”
It was this time for the wood man to groan; Kasuza caught a sympathetic eye from the bartender and shook his head amicably. He had hung out with the man enough through the New World to know that when the big man tunnel-visioned like this, the only thing to do was to entertain him. Radegast was a calamity in swordplay as much as in personality, you had to wait it out, let it pass.
“...To be honest, I’m kinda here for them too.” Kasuza admitted, before ordering a drink of his own. “Oh, a mocktail... can’t get drunk while working. Uhh, Virgin Mary--”
“Yo! Wanna fight them with me?”
“Stop interrupting me, dude. Like, c’mon.” Kasuza turned back to him. “Yeah, no, no fighting. I’m here to observe.”
“...Observe me fight?”
“No… Whatever. I just need new inspiration.”
“Inspiration for?”
For the first time since entering the pub, Kasuza’s eyes lit up with excitement rivalling the swordsman. Rising to his feet, he proudly placed a hand to his chest. If one could see under the wooden mask, his lips were probably arched in a dazzling smile.
“Kufufu, I’m glad you asked, fellow compatriot. Why, of course, inspiration for art.”
“Art?”
“My manga series.”
“Huh?” Radegast raised an eyebrow.
Kasuza continued, his entire aura sparkling with excitement. “As a writer, I need inspiration. For art, and more specifically, characters! I need interesting characters for this new series I’m going to do.”
Radegast had almost forgotten that the shinobi of wood was the most famous comic artist, or as he would say, ‘mangaka’, across the five seas. Pirate and marine both indulged in his works across all genres, and rumour even had it that a primary reason for him taking up the mantle of Shichibukai was for funding. Not like his skills had ever come to question - the man was strong in his own right for the world government to say anything, but…
“Man, I’m gonna be honest with you mate.” Radegast began, “I really don’t care about your manga--”
“OKAY, this is the new plot. I’m gonna base it off some of the famous ones of the New Generation. .”
“No, Kasuza, stop--”
“It begins like this…”

[Disclaimer: All characters and events portrayed by Kasuza, even those based on real people, are entirely fictional. Again, they are based loosely on real life characters, but all similarities are entirely coincidental.]
The cliffs rose sheer from the mangrove jungle, towering ramparts of stone that glinted jade blue and dull crimson in the rising sun. They curved away from the waterfront tens of feet below, perched right at the corner of the island and overlooking the docks. Atop the insurmountable, giant palisade, A lone figure stood atop the stone curtains with an apathetic look in her eyes. Eyes a shade of tranquil beryl, like the calm before the storm. Her colourful plumage fluttered in the wind, dancing its tune in an entrancing sway, as she eyed a group of marines far down below. Like a bird of prey, dominating the skies as if her own birthright, she observed every movement of the travelling group with quickly dilating pupils. And just as they turned a corner, the semblance of a smirk started to split ever so gentle visage.

-------
The waves crested across the hull of the battleworn Atet*, splitting in a frothy, foaming white as the battleship advanced towards the island. On its bow, a man stood with his head held high. An ocean’s breeze tousled through his unruly locks, but despite the fatigue that plagued his body and mind, he looked towards the inbound island with renewed vigor. His eyes sparkled like the sun above, testament to the amount of obstacles he had overcome, the amount of struggles that he had powered through with his crew. As a tanned woman took his side on the ship, he turned towards her with a smile. Though victory was not without loss, they would still carry on. They had come so far, nothing could stop them now.*

“I’m kinda worried about the Aqua Belt.” Dan sighed. “I don’t show it, but I’m a sensitive guy. I worry for the townsfolk, yknow?”
“Stuff it. We’ve left enough men.” Without bothering to face him, Mae let out a frustrated grunt. “We needa keep moving on.”
At that, Dan responded with a spiteful scowl. “Oh shut it, wench. All you wanna do is follow that stupid prince and play hooky with him--”
SMACK!
Ignoring the bickering duo, the bearded captain of the Infernal Legion Pirates pinched his nose bridge in exasperation. They had done good thus far, but there was lots of work to do if they wanted to continue down the chain of islands at a timely rate. There was far too much on schedule that he had to account. The clout that came with the title of Supernova was a pro and a con, the latter being that every move he made would now be scrutinized by the higher powers of the world. But with notoriety came a certain amount of power in a world like this. While treading with caution seemed to be the play, his timeline had been considerably sped up.

“Captain. What should we do?” Mae called out from behind, rubbing her knuckles that had just collided powerfully with Dan’s jaw. As John looked back, he noticed that his first mate was lying on the ground, his eyes in spirals. Probably best not to comment on that.
“Ahem, alright men. We’ve got three days till our ship is coated. Till then, be at ease. Listen well, all the supernovas are around. Do not antagonize anyone - with shit going down on Fishman island, alliances should be our main focus. Banded together, we are strong. Alright, dismissed--”
“Ahem.”
The sound of footsteps rattled out from the right of the docks. Civilians looked on nervously at the two massive groups, unsure if a fight was going to break out. But from the cordial smile on each commander’s face entailed otherwise. The taller man in the distance clasped onto a zweihander casually, and with a friendly wave, he hollered out.
“Yo. Hope Gobu wasn’t too much trouble for you.”

The two groups were undoubtedly close to each other; with beaming smiles, they rushed forward in greeting to catch up. Apparently the supernova had single handedly taken down a shichibukai concurrent to the events of the Aqua Belt. John made a mental note to make sure he would ask the next time they met.
-------
“...So our master got kidnapped!” The man whined helplessly. The coating yard on the docks were thriving with business as pirates from the far reaches of paradise had finally arrived. Yet, the helper looked towards his blonde customer in distress. Something was wrong.
With another whimper, the dockhand grasped his head in evident disarray and fell to his knees dramatically. “We can’t teach you how to do it yourself. We can do the jobs, but it's not good without our master. He’s the smart one. He’s the teacher. You’ve got to help us, aniki!”
“Where is he.”
“Huh?”
“C’mon.” The blonde said gently, offering a hand to help him back up. The dockhand felt his eyes widen in the disbelief of an impending miracle. With his jaw slightly agape, he took the tall man’s hand. He was well built, blonde locks shimmering even more vividly under celestial rays. His wide shoulders were relaxed but upright, making his already elegant stature even more regal. Along with his poised smile, it was obvious that he carried himself like a man of status.
“...I think he’s around mangrove 16. A pirate crew kidnapped him--”
“Hmm.” Without another word, the man marched off, headed in a direction that could only mean one thing. The fumbling dockhand wiped his moistening eyes, calling out to the silhouette of his supposed saviour.
“Ah! Mister, what is your name?!”
Without turning back, the man walked on, waving a silent hand in response.

A coffin floated across the ocean - within its seasoned confines lay the husk of a man who had once terrorized the four corners of paradise. Territory after territory was amassed under his name, and people who were both with and against him had coined the berserker as the very devil himself. Yet he lay, unmoving in his resting place, breathing but not quite… alive. To protect the vessel, the dreamer lay sleeping. Through his devotion, he will last eternal.

“...Wait. Why the hell’s that dude in a coffin man?” Stifling a yawn, Radegast tilted his head up from the desk. He was already half asleep, but his entertainer didn’t care. Placing a palm to his chest, the man whispered.
“That’s the beauty of it. Mystery.”
“Man, you do the weirdest shit sometimes--”
“And we move onto the next character!” Kasuza exclaimed, clapping his hands to interrupt the World’s Strongest Swordsman. “The next two characters! We’re changing it up a bit!”
“NO PLEASE--”
“So…”

“Halt! In the name of Justice, cease at once!” A flash of silver caught the eye of the dastardly monkey mink in the distance. He looked up from the child and turned towards her with an inquisitive gaze.
“Aye, missay.” He spoke, his voice drawled in a heavy Scottish accent. Far too hyperbolic, however; no matter how one tried to perceive it, it sounded fake. “I’m just tryna ask for directions.”
“...Then why is he crying?” The skypiean girl folded her arms, a deadpanned frown crevicing her gentle visage. The more she looked at the incredulous scene, the more she felt the corner of her lips twitch.
Turning away from the grounded, whimpering boy, the mink straightened his back and placed a finger to his chin thoughtfully. “Uhh… I guess I was trying to adopt him?”
“...What?! Look, mister monkey man! He’s literally bawling! Does he look like he wants to follow you?”
“Tsk tsk tsk, lasseh.” Clicking his tongue, the tamarin smiled and shook his head. Obviously she didn’t get it. “You see, I’m running an… orphanage. Let’s call it that. Non profit, the boss doesn’t approve. This poor child has just lost his parents. I’m what you would call, a ‘good samaritan.’--”
“MISS! H-Help me! Hic! Hic!” The child weeped, liquid draining out of his tear ducts in desolate sobbing. “HE WAS THE ONE WHO KILLED MOM AND DAD!”
BOOOOOOOM!
“Silver Justice…” In a ravening throw, her bo staff transformed into a spear and collided powerfully into the mink. The girl’s speed was fast as it was accurate, a blinding bolt from the blue, but the monkey had barely managed to draw his sword in time to avoid a clean hit. The force of the collision sent him skidding back, his feet erupting a dust cloud in its wake. Quickly advancing, she wasted no time at all and wrapped a hand around the sobbing child before leaping back.

The child blinked softly, desperately wiping the tears away as he looked at his saviour. He didn’t have time for a reaction, however; from the dense smog, the monkey mink reemerged once again.
“Oye, bruv, that wasn’t very nice of ye.”
“Can you move? I need you to hide. Don’t worry, I’ll deal with him.” Despite the urgency in her voice, the silvered girl smiled warmly, doing her best to convey everything would be okay.
He knew better to question. As he turned away and ran, the monkey grinned, placing 4 swords in his arms, mouth, and tail.
“Tings’re about to get fookin messy, ya?”

“FOR THE LAST TIME, I DUNNO WHO ‘SUPERNOVA’ IS, I’LL SMACK YOU IF YOU CALL ME THAT AGAIN” The orange haired swordsman screamed at the horde of marines. Despite his young age, one could tell his swordplay was practiced. He held his blades even; a perfect, undaunted horizon, perfectly guarding all his weak spots as he prepared another flying slash barrage. The marines, though weak, seemed to pour endlessly from the woodworks.
“Get him! He’s a supernova! Don’t let him get to Fishman Island!”
“LIKE. I. SAID.” With another indignant shout, he unleashed his barrage of crescent projectiles one more time. “I’M NOT SUPERNOVA, I’M…”

The blonde girl was seething with rage. Her knuckles grew white from clenching her fist too hard, and gritted teeth in an effort to remain silent. She sat, hand rubbing the patch over her cybernetic eye, looking at the quickly crumpling piece of paper in her hands. Hordes of followers looked on at her, standing at attention in the massive captain chamber of her airship, Sinner’s Dilemma*. Right at the corner of her window, a crow sat perched, observing her with what seemed to be bemusement.*
Her eyes traced over the printed words over and over again.
{I’ve broken your chains once. I’ll do it again.}
“...Captain, your orders--”
BANG!
With a quickdraw, the pirate captain shot the raven that served as the letter’s messenger. As the bird immediately pooled into blackened shadows, she regained her poise and stood back up. It seemed that killing the blasted familiar served enough means to vent her frustration in the meantime.
“...But not enough. My Immoral Fleet! We advance to Sabaody! Anyone who gets in our way…”
The wind dragged at her captain’s clothes, tugging at the red garments that lay under her battle armour. The girl stood with a smirk of absolute confidence, unyielding no matter how many enemies she faced.
“We will send them to hell ahead of us, eh?”
“YES, MA’AM!”
There was a reason why she was the forerunner of the generation. Right outside her cabin, littering the clear blue seas underneath her plowing airship, was an entire fleet of vessels that belonged under her command.

“...” Though a trickle of blood started to flow down the corner of his lips, they started to split into a feral, toothy smirk. After all, why be bothered by what were merely semantics in the grand scheme of things, right? Stretching lazily on the canopy of a mangrove tree, he perched a cigarette to his mouth and gave it a quick light. Through wispy grey whirls, he fixed his unnaturally green gaze on the distant horizon. It seemed that his letter had been delivered, and his plan was now officially in motion. Slowly, he rose to his feet, balancing himself atop the branch as the first Immoral vessel came into view. The very sight was enough for the prettyboy to adopt his signature, wry grin.
“And the only way to guarantee peace, is by making the prospect of war seem hopeless. Now onto the next step.”
Emerald eyes glinted, betraying the deep seated devilment within. The colour of new spring’s growth, every hue of the forest, bright and soft all at once. And with a quick hop, he leapt back down into the concrete clutches of civilization; for when spring went, summer advances.

A leopard mink walked into a tailor shop and ordered a black suit with the highest thread count possible. Once the measurements were made, the blue haired cat had been redressed into his new threads. To top it off, he got a new overcoat that hung over his shoulders quite fashionably. He carried an umbrella despite it being a sunny day on the archipelago.
“Alright sir, is that all for you today?...”
He didn’t get an answer. The mink simply started walking to the front of the store with a swish of his spotted tail as he prepared to open his red umbrella and leave.
“W-wait! Aren’t you going to pay for that?!”
The customer stopped with the door half open. A white haired woman who also carried an umbrella and a half-oni, half-mink in a mask stood waiting for the cat. He pivoted halfway around before answering the shop owner, eying him with bloodshot, half-lidded eyes.
“For me, suits are on the house or the house burns down.”
The tailor looked panicked, thinking of the way the customer had lit a cigar without a lighter earlier during the measurements. He could handle his “no smoking” rule being disrespected, but he was running a business here. The shop owner could tell the alleycat obviously wasn’t broke based on his watch and rings. He couldn’t stand for highway robbery like this!
“W-what? No. You have to pay! Just who do you think you are?!”
The red umbrella popped open as the Red Rum boss rejoined his employees.

“And there! Pretty cool right?” Kasuza grinned, smacking the Newscoo paper over a napping Radegast’s head. “These guys are so bloody diverse. I wonder what they’re like. Like even besides the novas, there are super cool people around. Did you see the fishman?!”
“...”
“Or the dracula! Or or or the salamander mink who spits shit out! WHAT! That’s a superpower in itself. There’s a dude who can turn into the sun, there’s a jellyfish, a girl who can turn into a dinosaur… BRO! Get. This. There’s a hamster mink AND a 50 meter monster on the same bloody page!”
“...Ugh…”
“Oh man, holy hell are they all power users? This is dope. So much bloody material. Oi! Wake up! Are you listening?”
“...Huh? Hmm… Yeah… no.” Rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, Radegast let out another yawn. “So, go on and play hooky then. Leave me alone already.”
“...Nah, I’m here for work first, I said.”
“That wasn’t what you were referring to?”
Grinning to himself, Kasuza got up from his seat and sauntered to the door. “I’ve gotta help Yaki and the old man out. They’re overseeing it this year.”
“Overseeing what?”

Sabaody Archipelago -- Grove 69 (Marine occupied)
“-and that be why I think me and me crew would be perfect for that there warlord position!”
Cigar smoke clouded the Inspector General’s office in the place where words should have been. Two men were interviewing a wide pirate who was packing dozens of pistols. Silence plumed a while longer as a grey haired marine’s wrinkled face oozed with boredom. With another puff of thick cigar smoke, he waved for the pirate on the other side of his desk to leave.
The younger bearded man with sandy brown hair smiled and shook the pirate’s hand.
“Thank ya’ for coming! A bat will deliver a message to ya’ if you got the job! The marines in the lobby will see ya’ out now!”
As soon as the chubby pirate made his reluctant exit, the older man sighed.
“Ugh, I hate talking with pirates like this. Why aren’t we just arresting these criminals while they’re in the palms of our hands!? Back in my day-”
The young brown haired man folded his arms and stroked his strangely noodly-looking beard before stopping the marine from rambling.
“Boarden, that isn’t what a keeper of the peace would do. We’re trying to find more pirates willing ta’ work with the World Government, not cause a war. I know you were some big shot Vice Admiral for sixty years or whatever, but ya’ retired a few years back. This isn’t the front lines. We’re trying to make peace.”
Inspector General Boarden huffed on his cigar like an angry baby with a pacifier.
“What do you know, Noodlebeard? You’re just some snot nosed Shichibukai like the rest. You’ve never seen real war. You’ve never had to watch your friends die in your arms! You don’t know what evil pirates are capable of! It’s best to snuff them out before they become a real problem. For instance, that old captain of yours.”
The usually calm “Noodlebeard” Yaki’s face twinged at the marine veteran’s spiteful words.
“I aint no kid, ya’ old fart! I have a beard! I don’t need ta’ tell you all I’ve seen or how many I’ve seen die to tell ya’ that you just don’t know what good pirates are capable of! Sure, my old captain is brutal, but I’m not with him anymore. I’m my own man, with my own crew now. Some prates are good. Some are bad. Some are alright, I guess, but that goes for marines too. A man of your accolades should know that.”
Boarden slammed his fist on the desk, his aged face red with anger. The tension between the warlord and the Inspector General was dense as the cigar smoke as the two’s eyes met in a glare. The silence was quickly shattered as the noodly bearded man cracked a laugh containing a smile and the two began to hollar with laughter like old friends. They had this conversation a thousand times before. Yaki returned to his seat beside the Inspector General’s desk. The warlord was well liked by marine and pirate alike.
“Noodlebeard, why are you even here? I can interview these punks just fine. None of them got what it takes. I can tell.”
Yaki undid a few buttons of his ragged wrangler attire and untied the laces of his boots as he got comfortable.
“Me? I’m just here ta’ make sure you don’t pick any bad radishes with them new youngins coming through. So ya’ better get used to lil ol’ me. Plus, I thought Tamoe might be here…”
The man’s eyes blinked away some troubling thoughts before he got back to his and Boarden’s business.
“Anyways, you’re right. These interviews aint working out. Got any marine assignments layin’ around here? Maybe we could test these pirates out in the field? It’d be the kinda’ stuff they’d be doing as a warlord anyways. It’d be nice to find out what kinda’ results we’d get!”
Boarden nodded before shuffling through one of the drawers on his desk, pulling out a stack of documents.
“We got a bunch, actually. This outpost is pretty understaffed as of lately. Most vessels here are just getting supplies and coating before heading to Fishman Island. I like this idea, kid! Two seagulls with one cannonball.”
Yaki kicked his legs up on Boarden’s desk before leaning his chair back and folding his arms behind his head.
“Phew! This just got a lil’ more excitin’! I hope Kasuza gets here soon. Who’s next?”
------
While the marines tried to bolster their power, elsewhere on the coast of Mangrove 20 deep within the lawless district of Saobody a pink haired oni with long spiked horns continued barking orders from higher ups.
“MOVE FASTER. We are NOT going to be the reason these shipments are late. You hear me.” “Eight Queens” Ocho hollered as she stood back watching her dozen men begin to load crate after crate of unmarked supplies onto a freshly coated ship.
“The Boss wanted these weapons down to Fishman Island yesterday. So let's get this done while the marines are still busy with their recruitment…”
The feisty oni woman began on yet another one of her tirades before being interrupted by a den-den mushi with a black X on the shell ringing it’s familiar buda buda buda from its perch on top yet another unmarked wooden crate. Turning towards it, her stern visage mustered a raised eyebrow.
“...They’re early.”
-------
Between the lawless territories and the marine occupied groves existed a group of groves known as “The Neutral Zone” or “No Man’s land.” Most businesses gather here to avoid marine taxation and bullying from criminals in the lawless territory. At its center is a theme park surrounded by many shops, restaurants, and businesses. Here, off-duty marines, pirates, and civilians all agree to act peaceful, creating an ideal anarchy.
Down by the boardwalk, there are many piers dedicated to the coating of ships. It is a booming industry as pirates, marines, and tourists alike all need to get their ship coated in order to make the submarine journey to the kingdom of merfolk. In the largest of these coating docks, an alarmed shipwright burst into the shipyard.
“Everyone stop! The boss has been kidnapped!”
A few coating engineers stepped back from their current project: a marine warship needing coating before nightfall.
“What?! Really? Are you sure he isn’t playing hookie? This is the busiest we’ve been in years…”
Several shipwrights began to crowd around their coworker who had delivered the news. With shaky hands, he pulled out a ransom letter.
It read like this:
--
Dear shipwrights and coating engineers of Sabaody,
I’m sure my name is familiar to every single one of you since you all have incessantly refused to coat my ship for the past ten years. Today I will finally get what I want. I have your boss, ‘Papa’ Adam Dephrates*, and for every hour my ship isn’t coated, he will lose a finger until I have to start chopping limbs.*
This is not a joke, fuck you guys, seriously.
*-*Captain Willian “The Numb” Skull
--
All of the faces of the shipwright’s cringed at once. They were all well aware of this pirate. He had once been rude to “Papa” Adam, and so they were under strict orders from the Ship Coater’s Guild not to interact with anyone who flew the Skull Pirate’s flag. The pirate captain was more of a running joke to the ship coaters ever since getting the order. This was truly the pettiest act the captain had pulled. None of them actually believed the Skull pirate captain was capable of torture, but work would be slowed without the boss.
“Well, this sucks. We need ‘Papa’ here! The trainees can’t learn without him here.”
“God damn that Numbskull! Why did he have to throw a fit like this when we’re at our busiest?”
“Yeah! We gotta’ get him back so we can keep working on schedule!”
“But we can’t coat their ship! We’ll lose our coating licenses!”
“Well, how else are we gonna get him back?”
“Rabble rabble rabble!”
The shipwrights all started arguing as to what to do next. It was apparent that this “Papa” Adam was the key component in keeping the coating engineers in-line, and without him, production would be minimal.
