Long term Apple Watch user, who's looking to invest in a Garmin for run stat tracking, but really like the interaction between Apple Fitness and Stava
While I know I can track run stats from Garmin Connect to Strava, is it possible to use Strava to sync it, something along the lines of Garmin > Strava > Apple Fitness, or is it possible to use RunGap or something like that to accomplish this?
I have a course record on a segment in my town's downtown with a pace of 5:30/mile. That's not accurate... My second best is around 8:30/mile. How can I delete my own segment effort? Should I just delete the whole run?
I‘m using Strava mainly for riding, I run a bit as well. Have two widgets on my screen, showing my goals. It seems the widget can only show distance, not elevation? As im changing to more elevation exercise and not pure distance, im more interested in seeing my gain towards my elevation goal. Is that possible?
Anyone think that strava needs smart trainer support
Anyone have any errors in automatic data from Garmin to Strava? My elevation gain was nearly 4,000 vertical ft and Strava either received corrupt data or interpreted data incorrectly. Anyone ever experience this? At the end of the day, I don’t care, but I’m intent on making sure it doesn’t happen again. Thanks.
I can remember seeing a post a year or so ago of someone posting their Strava runs for that year. It was as if each run was being plotted on a map in parallel, is the only way I could describe it.
Does anyone know if this is something that can be generated by a third party app, a hidden option in Strava itself or was it likely a custom thing?
As per the title, I wanted to cut out a small portion from the GPS tracking of a walk I did Friday morning (where for 5 minutes I took a bus). Since pausing the track only creates a straight line from where I pause to where I resume, is there a way to delete the section in between without the "teleporting" of the orange line?
It really is trash isn’t it 🤦♂️. Yesterday I ran a spontaneous marathon pacing my friend in his ultra, stayed within Zone 1 the entire time, exertion felt like a 0 and I gained a staggering 2 fitness points. That after running 3000km mostly in the alps the last year.
That compared to the massive spike you see last spring when I ran in the Dolomites for the weekend, first time in the mountains, permanently in zone 3 and barely able to scrape my ass up a slight climb without bending over double. Just makes absolutely no sense!
I imagine a lot of us use both for capturing our rides or workouts, so it’d be great if there were simple ways to sync or share videos alongside our Strava stats. Has anyone found a good way to use them together?
Anyone use a continuous glucose monitor?
My strava is synced with Nike Run Club. It has been going fine until yesterday. I ran for an hour straight and the data didn't sync to Strava. I tried logging in and out from NRC as well as renaming the activity, but none of them worked. I tried using an import/export app "SyncMyTracks" in Android to do the job and it reported the error I described in the title.
Because of that, I suspeted that it is the reason NRC failed to sync the data. I don't understand why, is it not possible to sync activity data with duration around and above an hour or is it something else? I don't push data too often either, I only ran around 3 times a week. Any solution? I don't subscribe to Strava if that matters.
I do parkrun on Saturday mornings and often go into the other athletes who did this route to give them kudos, but today I noticed that it’s missing? Anyone else? Is it another thing Strava is putting behind the paywall?
Hey, if I’m part of a group activity with someone whose profile isn’t private, but mine is, can their followers see me as part of that group?”
Anyone else noticed a significant difference in the last couple of weeks between the two values when recording a running workout? There’s about a 20s difference in the run I did today. Now I’m not the fastest runner out there but I’m not so slow that I would be considered stationary.
Does anyone know how to remove the "This was so and so's 3rd best time in the ..." from IG stories? I used to be able to share to IG (just a month ago in fact) without the achievements appearing, and I don't know if a setting changed recently. I am on Android. Is there a way to change this default, or is my only option now to save the photo and crop manually? Thanks!
My flyover only appear with standard map and allways start from Vilnius and then goes to my location anyone having the same problem?
So, I recently moved to a new city, and I'm looking for long bike rides to do. I find the global heatmap very helpful.
One issue I have, though, is that the colors can be confusing. Is there no key for each color choice?
I have 8 colors (on desktop at least) - Blue, Gray, Blue/Red, Hot, Purple, Orange.
Which color choice do you guys find the most intuitive?
any other tips for using the heatmap?
I have been using satellite view to see the terrain, but maybe regular map view would be more clear...
Suppose I track my running activity on apple watch (GPS only and the phone isn't nearby) using strava watch app, then after finishing the activity and reconnecting with phone, will the route map display on the app?
Hi there,
I love strava heatmap. But recently, they have pushed a few updates that decreased user experience. That gave me the idea create my own heatmap rendering, and that's what I eventually did. Now, I want to share the result with you:
I started using Strava during the 2nd half of 2017. At first I didn't put everything, but over time I developed the habit of logging most of my activities. So this map displays roughly my last 7 years of outdoor activities. Most of them are bicycle. Some of them are run and hikes. And a few are open water swims.
I do not plan to "open" the site, and let users render their heatmaps. But I made the source code open source and availabe on github, to make it possible for others to create their own rendering.
PS: the website is not hosted on a very powerful machine. It is fast enough when it's just me and my family looking at it the same time. I have no idea it will scale well if many of you look at it at the same time. I guess we'll see.
As in title, my strava only displays km/h while I'm running, and I want it to show min/km. Once I complete the run and post it I can see my min/km pace but I want to be able to see it while running!
I'm new to the app so hopefully just missing something obvious, thanks
Hi folks! Do you get annoyed when you get kudos on an new Strava activity before you could rename it to something cool? I want to share a project that I've been building for a couple of months. It stores titles and then automatically syncs them to Strava after you upload a new run, replacing "Afternoon Run" with whatever you saved earlier. It's free so expect it to be kinda rough, buggy, and simple because I'm a data scientist and not a full-stack developer. Just looking for some user feedback. Thanks.
